Custom Shells (Hells Shells) - Xoom Accessories

Just wanted to drop a line to see if there was any interest in custom shells for the Xoom. I have been working with the Viewsonic gTab (as a proud owner myself) mainly because I found a way to get accessories that for some reason Viewsonic nor anyone else wants to help give us access to. I have a listing in the marketplace and have been keeping it updated regularly.
Anyway... I am able to get some clear shells for the Xoom and I have a local company that can do custom images on them. Wood grain, Carbon Fiber, so forth and so on. This is a new image that they created and it's just my first prototype, again just seeing if there is any interest if I can get some of these?

I would be interested in one if it had a professional finish...ie. something i wouldnt be embarrased to pull out at work......preferrably with a soft touch finish for grip. It should also have a slightly raised lip so that the screen isnt touching whatever surface it is on when laid face down....hope this helps.....message me when you bring these to market...I would gladly review one for you...which is what i primarily do here on xda....review accessories. and learn about rooting flashing \...screwing up my electronics and then finding a way to fix them.

I'd really like to see a wood grain one if you have a picture. I'm interested, but it still all comes down to price..

Im thinking the price point at or under $20

mark me as interested.

that sounds like a solid price point. carbon fiber would look pretty slick

What are the technical specs? Will it be any kind of protect or more I candy? I have the gel case and the skinomi skin already but I'm not perfectly happy with either.

When I get that one back i'll get some better pics (that one was my shell from my graphics guy). I have 50 clear half shells on the way now and 50 two peice clear shells now, but the two peice aren't cost effective to get customized.

Do you think you could make one some kind of matte black with a green android dude on it, or matte black with a blue honeycomb bee-android?
I'm thinking of a case with something like this:
http://www.stickitgrafix.com/#!__store

Sign me up for a white carbon fiber case. Or black.

If you could perhaps add more protection into it, and even maybe a front flap or kickstand like the Moto Portfolio case offers, id definitely buy one.

I would definetly like one! Just curious though... where is the image printed? Is it on the inside of the panel (touching the xoom) or is it on the outside of the panel? What type of mm coating has been applied to prevent wearing away of the image?

I am interested, as long as it fits nice and snug, little case!

My 'clear' shells will be here in the next couple days. When I take them to the ' architects' will grab that prototype that you saw the pic of and discuss prices and color options.
I'll post current pics with the tab in the shell.
swyped from my Vegan 'flavored' Gtab...

Would you be able to make one with lots of Android guys all over it with a nice black for the background more like the picture of the skulls on first post but android instead

Wow.
I'm not really a believer in live-on cases, but wow that one is nice.
So tempting man.

not to troll, but this is one of the main reasons i went with the maxipad 2 instead of xoom, the accessories. its insane the amount of accessories apple gets. I had a very tough time swallowing my android pride. I actually refused to open the first 2 i bought because I felt like a traitor. you know what they say, third times a charm.

Trolling cleaned. Please keep it on topic and non-argumentative here. Thank you.

OP... and ideas on whether you will provide a case that has a kickstand?

Phantom Skinz Chromatics Carbon Fiber with Pics

So, I went ahead and gave Phantom's new Chromatic's a try. I went with the Carbon Fiber Black. IMO it looks amazing. Instead of wasting 1.5 hours of my time I just had the guy at the mall install it for $10. There is one flaw on the top left corner there are 2 little ripples and I plan on taking it back to have them fix as it has a lifetime warranty with their install. One of the pics shows this. Other than that, I love it.
This also includes the screen protector.
FYI, it does not have that rubbery grippy feel of a normal skin so if you desire that, I suggest staying away form this. Also, while it breaks in, the edges of the back skin pick up pocket link like a vacuum.
In my experience testing zagg, BSE and now Phantom Skinz, the phantom just seems to have a unsurpassed quality to it. Just my .02. Enjoy the pics!

You dont have to go to a mall to get it. You can order it from phantom skinz your self and put it on yourself. Link If you dont want to do it yourself just call phantom skinz and ask them. They are based out of Gilbert, AZ and I live just down the streat from there so maybe that is why there was a kiosk in that mall. Thier number is (480) 497-2965, call and ask if they have a kiosk in a mall near you.
Very stupid question but does this provide adequate protection for the phone? If you happen to drop the phone would this protect it?
$15, I'd be sold.

Anyways, can you show me where it says they are copyrighted. I have had several different skins for other devices and I have never seen anything about a cutout having a copyright. I may be wrong but I have never seen it, although I admit I had never really looked too hard.
Oh and you didn't spoil my day, it just would be nice to have a scan. I have already made my own cutout but wanted to see how others have handled the wrapping of the corners versus what I have done.

[REVIEW] A Kin Leaves skin (CM edition)

Hello,
This topic originally was about asking others if they had any experience with this particular seller, but I took the risk and got one myself and decided to recycle the precious bytes of this topic. .
So, I was googling around for some cool accessories for my now almost 6 months old KF, it has been through some rough life, even ending up with its motherboard replaced due to blowing it up by connecting the audio out to car receivers speaker rca plugs (blue smoke, anyone?)
I ended up fancying this seller (http://kinleaves.com) because of the broad variety of types of skins they offer. First of all I wanted to buy the military matte skin but I somehow changed my mind towards this beauty - Rain
I wanted to put a CyanogenMod logo on it, so I contacted the company, they were kind enough to put the logo there for no extra customization tax, which was pretty neat on their part.
So, the thing costed me 15 Eur (or 22$ for those of you who are from US) with free shipping (that took just 4 days from order to mailbox) included.
The installation took me less than 5 minutes but I ran into some problems with setting the wallpaper, as all of us know that orignally KF is not supposed to be customisable as far as a wallpaper goes, so it is kind of weird that this company even supplies a wallpaper with a KF skin. So the problem was that the status bar of CM9 was making the wallpaper a bit ugly, so I had to resolve this by setting the saved image as a wallpaper with the help of "Wallpaper Wizardii" from play store.
Also, it is really important that you clean the device carefully as I left some big chunks of dust underneath the skin so it made some barely noticeable lumps on the back side.
Enough talking, here are some photos-
1. The package that I received in my mail and my KF

2. Just applied the back piece, notice the CM logo
3. The CM logo closeup
4. Now it's time for the front
5. Application
6. Finished! IRL the screen and skin color difference can not be seen, so the wallpaper looks just stunning.
----
Verdict- great way to make your KF cooler without adding those bulky leather cases or things like that. Definitely will order more in future.
So I bought a skin from them today, I will write a review as soon as I get it.
Their support seems kind of friendly, they even gave me a discount code- I don't know if it will work for multiple times, but you could try the code "KINSK1N" to get 20% off.
Looks cool. I'm not sure if I'd trade my seidio case for a skin.
Can't wait to see a review!

I really want one now!
Looks awesome! I can't see myself going out without some sort of case. And my Seidio fits for me. I get great protection, allbeit makes it bulky, but it makes me happy the KF is protected.
But this looks just plain cool! I wish I had the galls to use my KF without a case. But I am a clutz. LOL
Looks fantastic, might have to put one on the shopping list if/when I don't use the case.

*COMING SOON* Element Eclipse Case

What do you guys think?
http://www.gadgetmac.com/news/element-case-unveils-ion-5-eclipse-iphone-5-and-galaxy-s3-ca.html
Here is a video of the case being explained at CES 2013
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLGYBhevGvg
Second to join Element Case's composite line of Galaxy S3 cases is the new Eclipse. This is perhaps the most amazing case Android users have access to. Unlike the $50 Atom case for the Galaxy S3, the Eclipse is considered to be the flagship case as it features an anodized CNC machined aluminum bezel, and incorporates a flip-out kickstand and a unique "Sound Boost System" that channels the audio coming from the back facing speaker towards the front while enhancing the sound quality. The Eclipse combines the aluminum bezel with a high impact resistant TPU body and a real carbon fiber inlay.
The Eclipse case is thicker than the Atom due to its added benefits, yet it offers the same ruggedized protection and integrated buttons. You'll be able to pick the Eclipse four different colors and finish combinations. We've yet to hear about pricing or availability, but it's safe to say you'll pay a pretty penny for the Eclipse case.

That I quite like, both the kickstand and the sound channel
Very nice, especially the sound channel to the front, pretty ingenius
I might add this to my case collection lol
Looks nice, but the kickstand will be useless for portrait mode.
They should have put the kickstand on the bottom instead of the top.

100% agree.
All these case designers have great ideas, but they seem to all miss the boat when it comes to very simple things like the one you just mentioned.

From my opinion, switch the sound port to the side, definitely will affect the sound quality. But with $64, I am able to buy 2 UAG case. Don't you? (# ̄▽ ̄#)

makes me wish they put a lower price point.. 64 bucks is alot of money for a case. I like how it looks and i love the idea of the sound channel but damn the price really kills me. it's up there w/ the fancy metal bumpers.
I don't like the raw silver aluminum on the black version. If it was anodized black I would buy it in a heartbeat. Doesn't look bad on the white phone, but I don't like the idea on my black S3.

Any body used an Urban Armor Gear case before?

Hey there
I was wondering if anyone had tried the Urban Armor Gear case for the HTC One? From the looks of it, it's fantastic and nothing like I've seen before which makes it not only great looking but also very unique. The black/white mix is just amazing and I have read great reviews about the durability and quality of the case, however I'd like to hear your opinions about it since I will be dishing out A LOT of money to order it online (shipping, taxes and customs) and also waiting a long time to receive it.

I got the HTC Double Dip Flip cover when I first got the device and I like it, however I seldom use the kickstand feature and in all honestly it adds a lot of bulk to the device. When I take it out of the case, I feel like I am using a different phone. The case does help, though, when it comes to the phone heating up and such from use which can make it a bit uncomfortable as I have very pale, sensitive skin.
You don't have to have used it on the HTC One, but perhaps maybe a Samsung, an iPhone, etc. since I know all the cases will have similar qualities, price tags and bulk.
Any advice and/or information would be appreciated.
Thank you!

It should be noted that I have the black one and noticed that pictures are also washed out a bit when using the flash... I think it has more to do with how close the case fits around the flash/camera.
Otherwise, it's a fantastic case, and probably my favorite case of all time. It looks and feels very well made.
Thanks for the replies. I will check out the dedicated thread.
Regarding the flash issue, I am not much of a photographer, in fact I rarely ever take pictures, and when I want I could always just take the case off until I am done, so that's not a big deal. Have you thought about cutting into the flash area, though, so that it wouldn't be covered like the camera isn't? I am sure that could work.
I have the black version and it's awesome. Just get it.

Take a picture in a dark enough environment that the flash comes on, then take the case off and take the exact same picture. You will see the difference. At least I can see a difference. It isn't bad, but noticeable.

I know this thread is stale, but I'm curious if anyone has had any luck with the dbrand (or any other skin) on this device? I normally love dbrand, but on the Nextbit I found the fit to be pretty terrible. I don't like how it comes up around the edges, since the fit around the buttons and the edge of the screen wasn't precise. My previous phone the fit was perfect, so I was pretty disappointed with the fit on this Nextbit phone. I tried to use a razor and make the edges square to the back, but I'm not the most competent arts and crafts guy, so I kind of butchered it.

I applied a bamboo back and black top and bottom the other day and I kind of agree with you there, this phone is not the best to use with dbrand.
I had to apply a bit of tension and stretch it out in some parts when applying the top and bottom parts so it wouldn't show any red (I have the Ember edition) but you can always still see some. Midnight versions might look better regarding this I think.
Also re-did the top and bottom last week, this time went full bamboo, and tried to be a bit more careful, and I must say, although still not perfect, it looks a lot better than the first one I tried. I say try to peel it off and use the spare ones they also send, this time trying to be a bit more careful and making sure everything is 100% symmetrical (this part is a big pain in the ass) and you may get a little luckier this time!

Got mine today. It's meh. application was easy but yes, my corners along with my back fit was pretty bad. Also messes up the fit of my screen protector
