Is there a Froyo keyboard apk for CM7? - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I did search, but it appears there's been no answer on the previous threads on this topic.
Is there a froyo apk for CM7 yet? Will one be available?

Not sure I understand your question.
However, I hate the stock Gingerbread keyboard. I use the HTC IME v27 keyboard from my old Froyo/CM6 install. Works like a champ.

Er, I just mean is there a way to get the froyo keyboard when running CM7 (gingerbread)

[Q] Stock HTC keyboard in Custom ROM

One of the only things keeping me from using a custom froyo rom is the HTC stock keyboard. I love it so much compared to the stock android keyboard (i have tried out the CM froyo roms, don't like the keyboard).
Is there anyway to get the HTC keyboard into the custom froyo roms? If so how?
Thanks guys!
Its called HTC Ime, its only for Sense devices, its not included with Vanilla Android, the get the LatinIME, here is a ported version...

[Q] Keyboard Help.....

Hi all. This is my first post on here, but through my reading i've rooted my Inc, bounced around between Skyraider 3.3.2, Virtuous 3.1, and now playing with Cyanogen mod 6.1 RC2. So far I'm really stable on the RC2 and like the vanilla experience. My only gripe is I miss the stock HTC keyboard really, I got used to it. I tried installing the HTC IME mod keyboard to no avail. Can't post the link to the thread on here yet, being a noob. Please help. Hboot .92, baseband 9.01 CM6.1 RC2 and included kernel.
Edit to addon: I have nandroid backups of both SR 3.3.2 and Virtuous 3.1, how could i go about pulling the stock HTC keyboard apps out of them to use with the stock android keyboard in CM6 (if its even possible)?
Ok, update after playing around some..... if you long press a text entry area, I've got it where i can see both the HTC_IME mod and the stock Touch Input as options, but when i select them they FC. I copied the clicker APK and HTC IME APK out of my virtuous 3.1 rom and put them in the system/apps, then changed the permissions which made them finally show up. Any ideas why im getting force closes? Still working here.....
same same
I've been having this same problem... with the HTC IME and a version of sw*** that I have that people said was working. I'd love to get either one to work at this point.
CM6 RC2 / DInc
Anyone have any ideas for the new guys over here?

Froyo keyboard on CM7?

I just recently flashed CM7 RC1 to my phone to try out some Gingerbread goodness. Overall I like it but i find myself not liking the new Gingerbread keyboard compared to the Froyo one. I tried using Titanium Backup to remove the Gingerbread keyboard and installing the Froyo keyboard apk but that just results in the keyboard FCing constantly. Is the Froyo keyboard just not compatible with Gingerbread or does anyone have any tips to get it working?

[Q] Evo Keyboard

I have a rooted Evo running CM7 and i wanted to know if anyone had the HTC Evo Keyboard with the nav keys? Also i have the swype.apk from OTA 3.70 but it crashes does anyone know how to fix that? I tried using the swype keyboard from the latest beta but it does not work whenever i swype i hear that stupid tone but no text appears (i even tried to swype "as") but if i type "a" "s" then it works bt swyping does not. Does anyone else have that issue?
I don't know about AOSP ROMs, but I know that in most Sense ROMs you can download the stock keyboard with the navigation arrows. My spouse and I both run myn's Warm TwoPointTwo (RLS5). However, she wanted the stock keyboard and I downloaded it from myn's thread. Check to see if the thread for your ROM has this optional download.
If you want swype, you need to grab libSwypeCore.so as well from the OTA and push it to /system/lib.

[Q] Use android keyboard

Hi, is there any way to switch to the stock gingerbread keyboard instead of this sense one? I just updated to gingerbread and I don't want to install the market one since it's already built in.
Just install the one from the market, I don't see a reason not to do it if you want it...
