Flash Evo 4G back to Sprint from Metro PCS - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am completely new to Android and all of this flashing stuff. This is my first tutorial hope it helps some out there. I really couldn't find one tutorial that helped me completely so I put stuff I used from many into one.
MAKE SURE YOUR ESN IS CLEAN AND NOT A STOLEN PHONE. IN MY CASE IT WAS A CLEAN ONE.
What you need:
1. QPST 2.7 Build 323 (Look it up yourself and download it)
2. ADB and DIAG drivers here
3. The 60650.prl from this site http://www.corolada.com/prl/
Here are the steps.
1. Make sure that your Evo's drivers are all installed. By that I mean the ADB and HTC DIAG drivers.
2. Dial ##3424# which will put your phone in Diag mode, and enable usb debugging.
3. You can follow this to install the DIAG and ADB drivers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697487&highlight=cdma+workshop
4. Once done installing the DIAG driver make sure you're still on device manager.
Make sure you see this below:
Now right click on HTC USB Modem and click properties, and something like this will come up:
take note of the port # on the top, in my case COM4
5. Now open CDMA workshop in Administrator mode. Right click Run as Admin. This will come up:
6. Click on connect on the bottom right, on the bottom left it should say "Connected to (your COM name) port successfully" in my case COM4
7. Click on other and make sure it says NAM1 for the first flash. Click write and browse for the 60650.prl and select it press open. Something like the second image should pop out, just press ok the prl has been flashed.
8. Now where it previously said NAM1 press the arrow down and click NAM2. Click write and browse again for 60650.prl do the same as step 7.
9. You are done. Close CDMA workshop. Reboot your EVO.
10. Go to update your PRL
11. Punch ##3282# hit edit type your MSL pass, go to Data Profile, hit menu and hit RESET.
12. Reboot once more and youre good to reactivate your EVO.

REMEMBER FLASHING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND I AM NOT HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE (IM NOT SAYING THAT ANYTHING BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN). I JUST SAY THIS TO PROTECT MYSELF. THIS WORKED FOR ME, I HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU.
My proof:
Today in my room at 11AM with Metro PCS prl (Look at the bars XD)
Today at 7PM in my room with Sprint prl (Look at the bars)

But people need to be reminded, if You bought a *STOLEN* Sprint evo (one that has been reported) it won't work on Sprint.
So make sure you check the ESN with Sprint before hand.

Yes ill edit that into the post thanks bro.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App

i posted this in the wrong section is there a way this can be deleted or reposted in the development section?

hey, do you think this will work for the evo shift?
EDIT:
I followed your instructions which are pretty simple to the letter, after rebooting, im still stuck with metro prl. I tried updating it with using wifi, but no luck.
EDIT2: Whats weird i that the "sprint zone" msg comes up, so some kind of progress was made..... to be continued upon further discoveries!!
Edit3: Ok, it finally took after resetting the phone a few times, and it does show the new prl. But now, it takes forever to update the prl. The only other prob is I cannot find my msl code, neither thru msl reader or cdma workshop, they both tell me its 6 zero's. Boy oh boy!!!

Hello pediz123
I have couple questions on your tutorial.
1. Is it possible if I use DEMO-CDMA Workshop with your tutorial? I went to the link they gave me the demo version.
2. In your tutorial, I dont see when you run "QPST 2.7 Build 323". What is it for?
Thanks

Upgrade Sprint Touch to Rev. A. COMPLETE TUTORIAL With Download Links.
As there are many Sprint users here and the new Alltel thread growing like a fungus, I figured it was a good time to create a tutorial thread with download links for Sprint users.
Let's begin.
UPGRADING SPRINT TOUCH TO REV. A
Make sure your phone(Sprint Touch) is fully charged as this will take the better part of an hour. While your phone is charging, I would strongly recommend using a program such as SPB Backup to backup all important information on your device as it will be hard reset multiple times during this process.
1. Download ImCoKeMaN's new Vogue unlocker: http://rapidshare.com/files/11019074...r_MFG_2.31.exe
2. Make sure your device is connected to ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center, whichever you have.
3. Run Vogue_unlocker_MFG_2.31.exe and follow the on screen instructions. It is VERY easy to do this wrong so MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL ON SCREEN INSTRUCTIONS during the process of unlocking your device. Your phone will display SPL 2.00.coke at first but will then change to 2.31.coke as you progress through the process.
4. Allow your phone to boot up completely into OS once the unlocker process is done. Hold the power and camera button and insert your stylus into the soft-reset hole next to the mini-usb port on the bottom of your phone. It should display an SPL of 2.31.coke.
IF YOUR DEVICE DISPLAYS THE 2.31.coke SPL THEN CONTINUE TO STEP 5. IF NOT, REPEAT STEPS 3&4 UNTIL IT DOES.
5. Reboot your phone so that it is back in OS and you are able to use the phone and connect to ActiveSync/WMDC.
6. Download and run RUU_Vogue_4350_ALLTEL_WWE_3.04.671.2_Radio_4350H_3 .37.10_Alltel_NV2.00_PRL30008_0331_Ship_withSpecia lNBH.exe
and follow the on screen instructions. It is much the same as any RUU you may have used before. The update will appear to have crashed at 11%. Do NOT be alarmed as this is normal.
THIS STEP CAN BE FATAL FOR SPRINT USERS SO READ CAREFULLY!!!
7. When RUU is completed, align screen and set date and time as usual.
For All Non-Alltel users once you finish aligning the screen and setting the date and time it will say "Tap the screen to continue". As soon as you do this it will immediately display a message that says "Customization will begin in 3 seconds. Press OK to continue." SOFT RESET NOW!!! Do NOT allow carrier customization to run. Soft reset during that 3 seconds.
8. At this point your phone should be booting back up. It should still display the Sprint PCS banner on the HTC Home plugin and you will still be able to make and receive calls. At this time, test your internet and see if it works. I have read conflicting stories of people using the Alltel ROM and being able to use the internet still and also people not being able to use the internet.(If your internet does not work do not be alarmed, there is still one more step)
9. If your internet works and you like the Alltel ROM then you are done. If your internet does not work or you would rather have a Sprint ROM, continue to step 10.
10. Download RUU and jakdillard's new WM6.1 ROM below.
ROM - ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/gpstest2.1.rar
RUU - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VNIQUDP2
11. Copy contents of RUU folder to gpstest2.1 folder and run RomUpdateUtility.exe. Follow on screen prompts and ROM update should go smoothly.
12. Sprint users you are now done. You should now have a Rev. A Sprint Touch with the OEM look and feel of JD's 19209 build.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GPS - HOW TO.
I know a lot of you have been wanting to get GPS working. Here is how to do it.
1. You must be using JD's newest test ROM which is available for download in step 10 of the tutorial above.
2. Download Google Maps from here: http://www.handango.com/ampp/store/P...&productType=2
It is free so don't worry.
3. Connect via ActiveSync or WMDC(whichever you have) and copy the downloaded cab file to your phone and run it. Install to main memory.
4. Just run Google Maps a wualla. Done.
How-To Get GPS Working Everytime (added by mindfrost82):
- Download GpsViewer.PPC300_2577.cab.zip(Holux GPS Viewer)(free)
- Run that program before you run any other GPS program
- Set it to Com4 and click Open
- Be near a window to get a fast lock on GPS (mine still works inside my house though)
- When you start to see what looks like lat/long in the display minimize it (don't close it)
- Now run Google Maps (or any other app) and set it to Com4 (or automatic should work too)
- It should pickup GPS right away since the GPS Viewer already has the locks
- Remember to close the Holux GPS Viewer when you're done or it'll constantly use GPS and drain your battery!

DOWNGRADING AND REVERTING BACK TO ORIGINAL SPL
1. Download ImCoKeMaN's original unlocker here: ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/Im...e_unlocker.exe
2. Run Vogue_unlocker.exe and follow the on screen instructions to a T as it is very easy to mess up. This will overwrite the 2.31.coke SPL. During the unlocking process your device will display 0.36.coke SPL. This will change once update is complete.
3. Once you finished with the unlocker, your SPL should no longer display 2.31.coke but should now display 0.40.coke.
4. Insert your stylus into the soft-reset hole but do not allow to boot back up into OS. Instead, hold down the camera and power buttons and insert the stylus into the soft-reset hole again putting you in bootloader mode.
IF YOUR DEVICE STILL DISPLAYS 0.36.coke THEN CONTINUE TO STEP 5. IF NOT THEN RE-RUN STEPS 2&3 UNTIL IT DOES.
5. Since it is recommended that you flash back to the OEM 6.0 Sprint ROM at this time, that is the link that I am providing here. Download and flash the OEM 6.0 Sprint ROM. This will overwrite the custom SPL written by ImCoKeMaN's unlocker.
6. You're now done. Your phone has now been reverted back to it's original shipped state.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RESTORE THE 1.33.003 PRI
(Must complete the Downgrading and reverting back to original SPL tutorial first)
If you are a Sprint user and you allowed the Alltel customization to run and complete then you most likely are now wondering where the Sprint PCS banner went from the HTC Home Plugin and are also wondering why you are not able to connect to the internet regardless of what you do. This is a tutorial on how to fix this problem.
What happened to cause this problem is that Alltel's customization also contains a 2.01.001 PRI which is different from Sprint's 1.33.003 PRI. Allowing customization to run will overwrite Sprint's with Alltel's leaving you with no internet or Sprint PCS banner on the Home plugin.
Here is how to fix it:
1. Download GetSPC here: http://www.5gmobile.us/mobilefiles/VX6800/GetSPC.zip
2. Extract the zip file and copy the GetSPC folder to the root of main memory of your device.
3. Go to Start/Settings/System/Device Information and either open notepad or get a piece of paper and write down your ESN. This is your HEX ESN.
4. Run GetSPC.exe from that folder you placed on in the ROOT folder of your device and in the TOP box, type in your HEX ESN. Hit "GO" and the number generated will be your MSL. Write this number down as well.
5. From the dialpad(MUST BE ORIGINAL VOGUE DIALPAD, NOT A SKINNED DIAL PAD) dial ##786# and it will bring up a large list of quite a few different numbers. Write down your MDN and MSID(you will need them, trust me).
6. Click Menu and select reset. It will ask you to put in an unlock code. Type in your MSL. Everything will reset back to the factory defaults, including your PRI, MDN, and MSID.
7. Follow boot sequence and align screen and what not and allow Sprint's customization to complete.
8. From the dialpad, dial ##(6 digit MSL here)# and click edit. Type in your MDN and MSID and click OK.
9. Your phone should now be reverted back to the bare bones stock OEM 6.0 Sprint ROM with the Sprint PRI of 1.33. You're done.

Nice, here's the link to the original thread, which might get updated.
I have attached QuickGPS again along with GPSTool if anybody is interested.
Sprint Customization
Is there a way to put the Sprint customizations on here? E.g. a .cab that would install the Sprint style cube, today screen plug in, SprintTV, Sprint Music, etc.?
One thing I noticed was that the cube is HTC but when you spin it, it is Alltel. I have searched both here and PPCGeeks but haven't found any Sprint cabs.
Any help?
Other than that, 6.1 and GPS, hotness! Works great.

Update: I found most of them, the link to where for anyone else is http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=22706
Now I am only trying to get the following: the updated Sprint Cube, the Sprint animated splash screen, and the Sprint theme.
Anybody?
I just wanted to say that this works perfectly on Bell Mobility in Canada, and it's great!
I followed the process and I've been waiting for this since I purchase the Vogue last year. I am impressed by this and I cannot believe Sprint was not able to make this happen any time sooner. This is great!
This would make a great sticky!
Can you please re post link for OEM 6.0 Sprint ROM. THanks

I can also attest that this works perfect. Winmo 6.1, GPS, Rev A data speeds, clean fast (so far) stable rom. Also, an added bonus that i found is with this rom my mic sensitivity issue has been resolved. I could not hold a converstaion with someone if i was in a relatively loud atmosphere. Must be a 6.1 update or something. Who knows.....
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. Big ups to the original poster at ppcgeeks.com
I read about some registry change for the mic sensitivity..

I dabbled in that a while back with no luck. There was a CSV type file somewheres that i found w/ help from this forum. It looked too easy to mess something up.
Side note: RevA is blazin fast....
I can't run the "RUU_Vogue_4350_ALLTEL_WWE_3.04.671.2_Radio_4350H_ 3.37.10_Alltel_NV2.00_PRL30008_0331_Ship_withSpeci alNBH.exe" file. It always gives me error "Vouge has encounter a problem and needs to close"
What should I do? I have XP SP2 with Admin right. Please help

[HOWTO] Change PRL on Virgin Mobile LG Optimus V (5/06/2011)

I saw this information posted elsewhere in pieces and thought I'd bring it together. I didn't make this procedure, but I can confirm that it works (and so can many others now). This is absolutely for the LG Optimus V and no other phone. Do not do this unless you understand what a PRL is and why you are doing it. There is some risk in doing this. I'm sure Virgin and Sprint would not be happy to know of this mod. It might even be blocked in the future by changing the way Sprint's towers filters Virgin users. Do this at your own risk! I take no responsibility!
1. Requirements:
Windows
LG Optimus V USB Serial Drivers (updated 3/22/2011)
Read the first few pages of this thread if you have driver issues. You can also try this. Thank you rjones1981.
You don't need to have a rooted phone to do this.
2. Get Your MSL Code:
New Technique (thanks to mmarz)
Log into your Virgin Mobile account.
Click this link
Although you get a 404 error page, search the page for "msl:"
The six numbers after msl: are your MSL code. Write them down.
Old Technique
Download CDMA Workshop 3.6.0 Demo
Turn on USB Debugging, and connect your phone to your PC.
Open Device Manager.
Ports > LGE Android Platform USB Serial Port > Properties > Port Settings > Advanced > COM port number
Change the value to a port number below 10. (demo restriction of CDMA Workshop)
Run CDMA Workshop
Select the proper port from step 4. Hit "Connect."
Under the "Security" tab, find "SPC/User Lock."
Change the drop down menu to "LG method," and click "Read."
Write down the number that appears in the box. This is your MSL code. Now close CDMA Workshop, we won't need it anymore.
3. Update Your PRL:
Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable.
Open Device Manager.
Ports > LGE Android Platform USB Serial Port > Properties > Port Settings > Advanced > COM port number
Make a note of your COM port number.
Download and install QPST v2.7.
Open "QPST Configuration".
In the "Ports" tab, if your com port isn't listed, select "Add New Port" and write in your com port as "COM#" (# being the number you noted in step 4). Verify that your com port is listed.
Make sure your phone appears in the the "Active Phones" tab.
Click "Start Clients." Choose "SERVICE PROGRAMMING." Select your phone.
Click "Read from Phone."
Enter your MSL code when promoted. (It will not finish reading from your phone. It will stop near the end and report an error. This is normal.)
Hit "Save to File" to backup your phone's settings and PRL to a .qcn file. (Optional but recommended)
Select the "Roaming" tab.
Under "Preferred Roaming Enable" choose "Browse..." and select the 01115.prl or 61677.prl file. (attached below, also see update 6)
Under the "System" tab change "Roam Preference" to "Home only". (Optional but recommended)
Click "Write to Phone," and your phone should immediately reboot. Do not disconnect your phone until it has booted back up.
To confirm that this worked, go into settings > about phone > status. You should have the new PRL and all that it entails. To reverse the process, follow the same steps but use the Virgin 61007 PRL or use your .qcn backup by selecting "Load from File" in the QPST SERVICE PROGRAMMING.
If you try different PRL's and get better service, please post your results here.
Update 1: Even though you can enable roaming using the QPST System tab under Roam Preferences, and you can actually connect to the Verizon towers, your calls will prompt you for a credit card, and your data will not work while roaming. I recommend leaving roaming on "Home Only." Even though you can't roam, an updated PRL will give you better coverage on Sprint's network. There are already reports that this fixes the 3G connectivity issue.
Update 2: I have created a hybrid PRL numbered 61676. I manually picked that number, and it may conflict with the PRL # of one released in the distant future, just fyi. I created the PRL by taking 60676 and removing a few roaming entries to make room. I then compared the entries in 61007 to it, and added all the non-roaming entries that 60676 lacked. It will almost be impossible to figure out if these additional entries help at all, but they can't hurt. I'm attaching 61676 below if you guys want to test it out. I promise nothing, but so far my phone has not complained about using it. Let me know how it works out if you do try it.
Update 3: Added new 60677 and a new hybrid 61677
Update 4: Proof that it is worthwhile to do!
Update 5: Added 01115 PRL. It is the latest from Sprint. Don't know why it is numbered like it is. I'm not going to make another hybrid prl for it because it is too time consuming, and I see no benefits from it.
Update 6: I'll no longer keep this updated for new PRL's. You can find new ones as they are posted here: http://cid-eabe29f3770d8d15.skydriv...Public/PRLs?ppud=4&wa=wsignin1.0&sa=636785150
Update 7: Newest PRL posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17690691&postcount=201
Roaming does not work on Virgin Mobile! If you do roam, you will not receive your phone calls or texts, and you won't be able to make calls or send texts! Your data will also not work if roaming. Set your "Roam Preference" to "Home only", and you don't have to worry about roaming.

Uninstall the other drivers and install the correct ones.
Does anyone know how to fix the "Failed..phone does not answer" response I get from CDMA when I try to read the spc using the lg method?
This is something I'd really like to try.
Thank you for taking the time to write the guide!

Which version of CDMA Workshop are you using? It works fine using the demo linked above. You may want to also try reinstalling the drivers. After you click connect, does pressing the read button next to it return an error?
Yeah, i must be missing something here, I installed what should be the right drivers I'd thought but when I plug the phone in there's nothing in device manager under ports... There's an "ADB Interface" now with "Android Sooner Single ADB" under it. There's a Google mass Storage USB Device under Disk Drives, and a new USB Mass storage device under Universal Serial Bus...
So what am I doing wrong and how do I fix it?
Thanks for any help!

Same issue here. If I install the phone's USB drivers from the LG website (http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/LG-VM670.jsp, under "Resources" tab) I get an "ADB Interface" section in the device manager with "Android Sooner Single ADB" under it, exactly as the previous poster described.
If I uninstall those and install the drivers linked to in the OP, I then get told that no driver was found for my device when I plug in my phone. It should be noted that the page linked to by the original poster identifies the drivers there as being for the LG-LS670, which would be the Optimus S... The Sprint version of the phone. The Optimus V is technically the LG-VM670. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LG_Optimus_One#LG_Optimus_S_-_LS670_-_Sprint).
Could this be why my system is refusing to use those drivers?
Are those of you who've connected to your Optimus V with the drivers linked to in the OP all running hacked ROMs?

I uploaded the drivers myself and fixed the link in the original post. Uninstall and delete (using device manager) the "Android Sooner Single ADB" driver and try unplugging and reinserting the USB cable.. If the device shows up as unrecognized, Right click on it in the device manager window> Update Driver Software> Browse my Computer> Let me pick from a list> All> (wait for the list to be populated)> LG Electronics> LGE Android Platform USB Serial.

CDMA 2.7, I am going to try the demo and see if that helps.
Read also returns the same error. It connects fine though.
EDIT:

Turned on USB Debugging on my phone and plugged it in. Device Manager shows this:
I right click, "Update Driver Software" => "Browse my computer for driver software" => "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"... This brings me here:
Unchecking "Show compatible hardware" gives me a lot more options, including a couple of references to the "HTC Dream" (which I believe is another name for the T-Mobile G1, the first widely available Android phone)... But nothing about USB Serial.
The only thing I have showing up under ports is a "Printer Port (LPT1)." What am I doing wrong? Any clue?
Same exact results here as above, can't get the USB Serial drivers to show up anywhere after uninstalling and installing the new drivers that were uploaded...
I've tried it on Windows 7 Home 32bit and also Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with the same results (of course i'd already tried the install with the other drivers on both machines... Should I dig out an XP machine to try this on?
Has anyone with an un-rooted Optimus V gotten this to work?
I hope after all this trouble (assuming i get it to work) it actually does help with all the 3g data outages like i've been promised

I right click, "Update Driver Software" => "Browse my computer for driver software" => "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"... This brings me here:
http://www.kate6.org/Screen2.png
Unchecking "Show compatible hardware" gives me a lot more options, including a couple of references to the "HTC Dream" (which I believe is another name for the T-Mobile G1, the first widely available Android phone)... But nothing about USB Serial.
http://www.kate6.org/Screen3.png
The only thing I have showing up under ports is a "Printer Port (LPT1)." What am I doing wrong? Any clue?

You didn't uninstall the Android Sooner Single ADB Interface Driver. Right click on it and select Uninstall. When it asks you to confirm, check the box to delete the drivers. Then follow the directions I posted to manually add the correct driver.

God, I hate Windows. There's no Mac-native or Linux-native programs that can do this, are there?
At this point there was nothing to right click on, which I assume means that when I uninstalled the drivers through the "Uninstall Programs" control panel it left some files behind that were mucking up the process. So I went ahead and reinstalled the driver's from LG's, website, reconnected my phone to get the "Sooner Single" to show up, then right clicked on it, chose uninstall and make sure Delete was selected.
Then I went in the Uninstall control panel to make sure everything was deleted. Then I deleted anything that looked like it was owned by LG under C:\Program Files, C:\ProgramData and C:\Windows\System32\Drivers.
Then I installed your drivers, as linked in the first post and plugged my phone back in. And it showed back up as the "Sooner Single" interface, but had a "Device Cannot Start" error on it... Which I'm guessing means that driver was actually in your package. Right clicked, uninstall, make sure I check Delete... Unplug and replug my phone back in. This time I get an "Android USB Device" that the system was unable to find a driver for.
So I followed your directions.... Update Driver, Search my computer, etc. There appears to be both an "LG Electronics, Inc" entry and an "LG Electronics Inc" (without the comma) entry. One of them has two Serial Port drivers, and two NMEA GPS Port drivers, the other has three of each. I've at this point tried all five of the Serial Port drivers.
The ones from the group of three (I can't remember if that's the one with the comma or without) required me to reboot my computer when I installed them and then, after the reboot, had a "Device cannot start" on them. The other two managed to start, but when I hit the "Connect" button in the CDMA Workshop it says "Failed to open COMx"... I tried switching around between COM1, COM3, COM5 (making sure to always have the same port selected in both the device manager and the CDMA Workshop)... I tried messing with the baud rate setting, again matching them in both locations.
No go.
I'm doing all of this on two machines, btw... An installation of Windows 7 64 bit running under Parallels Desktop on my Mac, and an install of Windows 7 32 bit running on a friend's computer with no virtualization. Getting identical results on both. Well, I did discover that my friend's computer freezes up mid-POST if my phone is plugged into its USB port while it's rebooting, which was just a little bit of extra frustration to deal with.
Any more hints?
I'd really like to get this working... I've had data outages of several hours almost every day for 2-3 weeks now, usually during prime time usage hours (i.e. around noon, and around 4pm to 7-8pm.) Would love anything that would make the stop or even lessen it.
Wow Kate, ok. Install one of the drivers that is labeled "LGE Android Platform USB Serial Port", I don't think it matters which one. Then make sure no other com ports conflict with the com port you choose. To make sure, restart your computer after changing the port and verify it didn't change. You obviously have debugging enabled on your phone, otherwise the driver wouldn't even appear....Hmmm. I agree that windows makes all of this so much harder than it has to be. The problem with the drivers is a perfect example of how something so simple requires a full days worth of trial and error to fix.

Actually, the only part I got from your thread was the procedure to use the Demo version of CDMA workshop to get the MSL code. The rest a pieced together from XDA posts and forums:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940612
http://mark.cdmaforums.com/QPSTSetup.htm
http://www.evanvaughan.com/default.aspx?pageid=56EED25AA49D4B1C
I also didn't use pirated software to get the VM PRL. When you read from the phone using QPST, even though it gives an error, it does download the phone's PRL. You can then save that to a QCN file with the rest of the phone settings. You can then extract the PRL using QPST's Roaming List editor. You should know that the pirated copy of CDMA workshop that is floating around online has been flagged as containing a virus multiple times.
Again, you copied and pasted my entire post and gave no reference to me. I did not complain because this isn't anything besides a walk through.
I'm going to be posting a new PRL soon just for VM users that has all of the roaming features of 60676 removed and adds in the difference from 61007. Feel free to post it in your thread too.

HOW TO: Update PRL In JB AOSP

Tested and works on
JB 4.1.2
JB 4.2.1
Failed on
ICS 4.04
Before I begin credits to autoprime! source http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626638
This is not a full blown walk though… so, not all of this may make much sense to everybody but for those who do understand the way this program works. It’s a very easy process!
I’m sure this has been buried in this forum.
Here’s my little guide to get update your PRL using QPST on CM10 4.1.2 on the E4GT!
Alright so it’s pretty straight forward do the basic stuff, download your E4GT drivers
(even though is probably unneeded if you have Windows Vista or 7)
Unplug your phone from your PC
Open your terminal emulator on your phone
Type in su hit enter
then copy and paste in below and hit enter.
echo 0 > /sys/class/android_usb/android0/enable
echo disable_wimax > /sys/devices/platform/i2c-gpio.17/i2c-17/17-0008/port
echo enable_cp > /sys/devices/platform/i2c-gpio.17/i2c-17/17-0008/port
echo disable_ap > /sys/devices/platform/i2c-gpio.17/i2c-17/17-0008/port
echo CP > /sys/class/sec/switch/set_usb_path
echo 1 > /sys/class/android_usb/android0/enable
Reconnect your USB to your PC.
Open device manager you’ll see SAMSUNG CDMA Technologies (if it has not automatically installed already)
If your PC does not find the driver automatically, you're going to need to install the drivers, just Google Sprint_d710_USB_Driver_v1_3_2360_0.exe and install the package.
let the drivers install.
Now open QPST configuration, click on the ports tab, then add new port
**UNCHECK show serial and usb QC diag ports only***
Then you will see a few com ports in the lets one by one - add them all
Once you’ve added them all open Service Programming and your phone should detect!
Once you're in click on roam tab / then click read from phone BOOM enter your MSL
Now you can upload what ever prl you want!
After uploading the PRL to the phone, it will not automatically reboot like on TW Roms, so reboot after flashing, then your USB ports will turn back to "normal"
Enjoy!

I did enable them and I tried to go in but it wouldn't let me change anything. As you can see on the second screenshot, the "Work Offline" option was selected. Whereas when I got it to work successfully, the "Work online or offline" option was selected, and my phone was in the table in the latter option.
/EDIT
I think it's safe to assume that something went wrong when I pasted those commands into the terminal. Perhaps you must paste one at a time and press enter? I just pasted them all and pressed enter... I dunno, I was too lazy to try.
Whatever the case may have been, after a bit of searching around I found that I could access the menu on the dialer by using *#*#8778#*#* but only if I left it on the PhoneUtil screen while plugging it in and while using QPST (after selecting modem for both USB and UART.)
But regardless, thanks for the guide!
+1 from me

all i have to say is you are a genius!!!, was struggling with updating my prl for past few days!!. Now the only questions remains is how to stop sprint from re updating my prl!!!! every time i change it, it resets in a day or two to stock and i end up with no signal.
I would love to update my PRL since I've been using CM10, but I need someone to walk me through this like I'm a 5 year old. I know how to follow step-by-step instructions, I just don't have all the pieces to the puzzle (i.e. where to get QPST and a PRL). I think that simplifying this for your everyday-Joe customizer would be a great asset. I REALLY don't want to flash to stock just to update my Profile and PRL, then flash everything back.

[Tutorial] How to flash the Galaxy Nexus CDMA verison to PP

I have been trying rigorously to flash the Galaxy Nexus until I stumbled onto urhaxable's script! I didn't find any simplified versions of it so I thought I would post a tutorial to help other like me. BTW this is my first post so please take it easy on me
If you have been trying to flash the Galaxy Nexus CDMA with no donor to PP look no further. ** Wont work with Verizon with bad ESN. If you are trying to flash to 3G with donor checkout primes tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696621.
1. Root your device and Install the toroplus AOKP ROM because it's easier to change PRL and get into DIAG:http://goo.im/devs/aokp/toroplus/aokp_toroplus_jb-mr1_build-5.zip
2.Download drivers for the Galaxy Nexus 32bit: http://www.mediafire.com/?c21e22x75a9ocpb 64bit: http://d-h.st/v3n
3.Download the programming software called ETS, because the Galaxy Nexus has a VIA chip set not a Qualcomm : http://www.digzip.com/files/1PAPNCQU/homework.html
4. After you have done all the above change you PRL download :http://www.howardforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=79544&d=1331322180 then rename the file to test.prl and put it into your the root of your phone. After you've done that go to setting>sprint tools>roaming and click old school.
5. The phone must restart, after it restarts you will still see sprint on the phone but don't freak out the PRL is modified for Sprint.
6. Enable debugging by going to developer if you don't have you can enable it by going into about phone and scrolling all the way down to build number and clicking it six times until it tells you that Developer is enabled. After doing that go to developer and enable debugging.
7. Enable USB DIAG by going into setting>sprint tools> Advanced and checking USA DIAG mode.
8. Open up ETS determine what COMM your phone is plugged into and go to ETS and bring down debug>COMM>USB and select the COMM your phone is plugged in. If it's the right one you should see the it's connected to make sure it is connected go to debug>start up commands.
9. When everything is ready to go go to ETS>Utilities>Script utility and copy this script that is provided by urhaxable go send him a thanks!
Script:http://gogreeninyourhome.com/go-green-files/PagePlusFullFlash.srp copy the script and paste it in script utility and follow the instructions on the script!
10. If it doesn't work then maybe you didn't put MIN in the right place. To put it manually call *#*#your MSL#*#* then go to edit put in your MSL and click MSID and change it to your MSID to the MIN that was provided by PP or dealer.
If you it still doesn't work try and try again and if tried and tried shoot me a PM!

So does the No Donor script allow 3G access or do you have to have a donor?
I've got mine working with a DInc donor, but would like to do away with the whole donor thing, due to grey legal area.
N3M3515
I'm sorry you need to have a donor to get 3G working. Even if though it says you have 3G you don't. And it's not illegal to copy info from a donor phone as long as you own both phones, so don't worry about that

[GUIDE]Save 3g settings from other carriers

I've seen so much people complaining about flashing their cellphones to another carrier but the phone isnt saving 3g info to the efs. Well, it seems like something blocked by Sprint. To get it working do this:
-Connect your phone in dial mode to your windows pc(doesnt work on other OS).
-Download this file
-Download this FREE version CDMA Workshop
-Open CDMA Workshop, on the right top side, check the box next to the textbox and introduce your spc and click connect and read.
-Navigate to memory tab and in "NV-items" click write and select the 1st file you just downloaded.
-Finally close CDMA Workshop and it'll ask you to reboot the phone, click yes and then proceed to flash your phone.
I used Qualcomm QPST to configure data in my country. I guess DFS also work but I havent tested it yet.
Links are not mine but tested it.
