HTC Incredible Video cable work on TB? - Thunderbolt Accessories

Has anyone tried this cable on the TB? http://htcpedia.com/news/htc-droid-incredible-tv-out-cable-review.html If it doesn't work is there one for the TB? I really want one! thanks a lot sorry if this is a repost.

Word is that cable does not work. I've done some searching for cable options and have not found anyone touting a functional solution. For now it seems we are dependent on the DLNA functions of the phone.

I had this from my Incredible. Tried it on the Bolt with no luck.

Tv out does not work!

Hi everybody, I have been having this problem lately: Tv out on my t-mo touch pro 2 does not work! I had the EnergyROM_21885_RHODIUM_14.Jan.2010_StandardM2.5 installed and I found that the tv out didn't work. So I tried EVERYTHING I could find on the subject. Nothing has worked. So I upgraded to the latest Energy rom (Energy.RHODIUM.21903.Sense2.5.MaxManila.May.09) and guess what? Nothing, so I tried Everything again, still nothing. Anyway I have three different video out cables, 1 is from radio shack, 1 came with the projector I bought for my phone, and the other is just a video out cable. I would think that one of these cables should work but.... any advice would be appreciated.

How are you connecting them to the phone...through the 3.5mm/USB adapter box that came with the phone? If so, there's a wire inside you need to cut to make the vid out work...I think it's the blue one, but there's a thread or two out there on this that have the full instructions.
Do you have one of the official HTC vid-out cables for the TP2?
Thanks for the reply! I am connecting using the 3.5mm usb 'hub' thingy that came with the TP2. I do not however have the official htc video out cables. I have read that people have had success with other cables, it's just a matter of figuring out witch color they switched for the video out. I cant say I have heard of the blue wire you have to cut. Doesn't the TP2 support TV out right out of the box?
pick up the real tv out cables from ebay, very easy and painless.
Well I don't understand it but I opened up the usb 3.5mm hub thingy, cut the blue wire, and now it works with a standard radio shack cable! the red wire coming out of the phone is the video though. But it works great! Thanks for the replys!

You bet! I was pretty sure it was the blue cable, but if I was good at remembering that stuff I'd never have lost my job with the bomb squad
Yes, the TP2 supports vid out "right out of the box", but only on the official HTC video out cable....it's a direct connection to the mini-usb port, instead of going through the included adapter that you're using.

HTC Desire - USB audio output possible

Hi Devs,
first of all, sorry for starting a new thread, but searched the forum and didn't find exactly that.
Like I've read, there is no audio over USB support built-in to our mighty Desire.
I tried a few different microUSB to 3.5mm jack adapters from ebay - even one declared as for HTC Desire. Checked the usb-pins-assignment also and it seems that HTC hasn't built in (or turned off) that function in opposite to some other manufacturers.
So will it be possible to write a rom or a kernel, that'll support that?
If it is possible, I would appreciate a few hints what I'll have to do, to get this thing working!
Thanks in advance!
Can I know why you need that? Is it for A/V out?

Its not possible to send analog audio signal over the usb since its a standard usb plug. Only the old htc phones with extUSB had audio, but its was a bigger plug with more pins.
On that note i dont get why you want to get audio from there, when theres a nice 3.5mm jack socket on the top of the phone.

Thanks for your quick answers!
Yes, since there are no music docks for desire I built my own and it has to be possible, other phones with microUSB have that function - why not ours?
I know the old extUSB plug from my magic, there it is no problem. But there must be a way to get this working! I think it is only a software and/or driver issue.
If you'll get a music dock you'll have to plugin the phone + jack everytime? ? ? Look on ebay there are a few universal docks over microUSB, but not working for the nearly best and most sold android phone on market?
Pls give me some hints if there is a way to do that - everything is possible!

Umm, well not really. Because who says that the USB port of your phone is connected the right way internally to actually SEND data over the cable/dock.
I have no idea on how to do it. Thats just what I think, but with Android, a LOT is possible

YEAH IT IS!
On Nexus one they built in extra pins for docking and audio over that works like a charm.
I'm having a few adapters microUSB to 3.5mm jack for Motorola,Samsung,Nokia...phones from ebay, but not one reaction from Desire
Maybe the adapter for Desire needs a Digital-to-analog converter to get analog audio out of the microUSB port.
But no technical details over that from HTC - does anyone know more about the microUSB connections on our Desire? Tried to get a technical manual for Desire, but no chance on google...
If there is no other solution, I'll have to disassemble my expensive Desire to get a view on connections and maybe some hints which IC is managing the microUSB.
Does any dev know what would be possible by modding a kernel or rom?
Thanks in advance!

im also looking for something like this, though i want digital-audio out. for example in my car, plug and play so i get spotify from my usb to my stereo and able to control spotify from my stereo. there is no problem for this if you use iphone, though id like to be able to do it on my htc.
any solution?
Ability to stream out the audio through USB would be something nice to have.
There's a guide online on how to splice a USB and 3.5mm cable to the Apple USB cord so that you can charge and play audio on ipod accessories, as long as you don't mind having USB and audio plugged in at the same time. http://www.erwanmace.com/2012/07/ipod-dock-android/

[Q] Has anyone bought the media link adapter?

http://www.expansys-usa.com/htc-des...=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=base
The reason I ask, is because I would like to buy a pico projector for use as a HUD display for my car. Also, I have a vulkano and the vulkano app installed. So when parked I would like to be able to connect something like this to watch my home cable over my homemade HUD. But from the you tube reviews, it seems as if it will only do stored content, not streaming content. If this won't work, can someone point me in the direction of something that will? If I need to clarify something, just let me know.
Thats a sweet idea if you can get it to work, but that thing is pricey. I believe the microUSB port is actually a port (can't remember name) that is compatible with microUSB (charging, syncing, etc) but also supports HDMI. If so, that would work better wouldn't it?
I was wondering this as well. I am coming from an INC and the video out cable worked well for my screens in my Tahoe. I would love to find something to get a video out signal on my TBolt. I was a few minutes from pulling the trigger on the media link myself.
Anyone have any first hand experience with the Thunderbolt?

I saw a pdf. That seems to support this, but I have yet to see the cable itself materialize. I was listed as an accessory, but so was the dock and induction charger that have yet to drop. At this point I won't wait for anything that is supposed to come from Verizon.

OTG USB Silicone Keyboard

Does anyone know of a foldable/rollable USB keyboard (presumably silicone) that would have USB 2.0 and work with Hash's 3.0 kernel/OTG?
I like this for the price, but am a noob
http://www.amazon.com/Foldable-Port...9C9Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1336092102&sr=8-2
If that works I want one. I can't type on the kindle touch screen for anything.

That should work fine. My wireless USB 2.0 one works great, so I see no reason why that wouldn't work.
Does anyone have a roll up silicone keyboard for any device at
All? I am concerned about typing accuracy.
Thanks in advance
I bought a roll up rubber keyboard a couple years back, i hated it and gave it away a day or two after i purchased the keyboard. Luckily i paid only 6 dollars for it.

Roll-up keyboard working fine here through powered USB hub. Just as accurate as can be expected with these crappy things, but it works like it should.
Edit: Thanks for mentioning this otherwise I would've completely forgotten I had one. Awesome.
Edit: To further clarify, if it matters my USB hub is a multi-TT hub, which was difficult to find since most manufacturers don't even advertise the feature. I needed one for MIDI latency reasons. If I remember correctly it has something to do with 2.0 devices on the hub receiving sufficient power and not getting dropped to 1.1?

Thanks. Would you say that the roll up keyboard is easier and/or faster than typing on kf virtual keyboard?
I was afraid you'd ask that.

I'm gonna go ahead and say yes, simply because it's a full-size keyboard. It does take more effort than a standard keyboard to register presses being as flimsy as it is, but when my PC was still up and running I started to get used to it being my only full keyboard (I'm typing this from my laptop) and I got pretty quick with it. Trouble here is, aftering getting my Fire I'm pretty damn fast on an Android keyboard so my judgment is possibly skewed. I say go for it. It's really the only portable option aside from those little Bluetooth keyboards, if anyone even has those working yet. I also got my powered USB hub to register my flash drive so that's promising.
How exactly does a usb keyboard work with the KF?
Powered USB hub, all the way.

I couldn't get enough power straight through my adapter or cable, so I used a powered USB hub. I rebooted the Fire, then the thing just worked. I'm really excited. I just hope the port provides enough power on its own for one of those tiny Bluetooth dongles. If not, I'm fairly certain there was a discussion thread here about trying to ramp up the voltages so hopefully they'll figure that out and integrate it into future releases. I really would like to be completely untethered.
I got a wireless foldable silicone keyboard which is water resistant. It comes in 5 colors. Black (which you posted), white, blue, green and pink.
You can get one at Silicone Keyboards

[QUESTION] Desktop Phone?

Hi Everybody!
I've been looking on forum for a thread similar but i couln't find one, so i'll try to explain what i'm trying to do with my phone and let's see if someone already got it.
Well, since i got the SGS3 on my hands for the fist time, i could feel how much hardware it does have and thinking about how much it's portable and easy to take, so i start to thinking if is posible to make some kind of "DeskDock" with some accesories.
I have a Logitech Unifying keyboard and a mouse wich means that with only one dongle i can connect both devices to it. Last week i brought a OTG cable and i tryed to connect it on my phone and it worked almost perfectly (some issues with keyboard layout, but nothing else), i got impressed that all functions keys from my keyboard was working.
Ok, got this point i was thinking how could i connect my OTG cable and also a MHL cable, so i can have HDMI-OUT and my keyboard and mouse working.
If this work i can have a totally functional desktop with 24 inches screen. I know that maybe people wont see any sense making it, but in my case i don't have a Netbook (i don't even like) and if i could get this working, i was thinking about run linux on my phone and get a full desktop experience.
Is anybody there who tried it?

just look on this subforum for MHL and OTG.
Why not just by an "android PC" or the android TV box. It is basically a powerful tablet computer in a 3 inch square box with HDMI, two or three usb ports, wireless wifi and and SD card port. Cost less than $75 or you can spend more and even get a dual core . I have one on both of my big screen tv's with a wireless mouse (but for pc application you just use a combo keyboard mouse. Much easier and much more simple.

For most of us, it is the ability to take our "PC" with us, as a working tablet. For others, it is that when we get home, we want to just plug in our phone, and have larger everything.. but still use all the apps, and bookmarks etc that are the on the phone. For the rest.. it is about the cool factor.
