1700mAh Battery Replacement from Ebay... - myTouch 4G Accessories

Have anyone tried this yet? Planning to get one but is it really 1700mAh... about 20% more than original battery... should last throughout the day
Can't post the link but you can search for it in ebay....

Don't do it. Usually those off brand batteries are complete junk. Even if its cheap, its a waste of money.

Thanks I was about to get one. I got the 3500maH for my old vibrant and it seemed not 3500 so I guess this one will be the same

I haven't tried the 1700 mAh ones, but I do have 3 of the standard size ones that I got off Ebay for a few bucks each. I'd say they probably have 80-90% of the capacity of the stock battery. I think that's pretty good considering the price. If I needed an extra battery, I'd consider trying it out.
Get a standalone battery charger and always keep one in the charger, so that when your battery dies, you can just swap them out. That way you never have to plug your phone in with the micro usb cable and risk breaking the jack.

i have the 1700 battery and i did notice a difference...i love my battery

I bought those for my first mt4g and you are right, the capacity was only about 80 or 90%. I sold them along with my first mt4g. I would not mind getting another pack but the problem is I'm using the tmobile prestige case the one with the kick stand. It's so hard to pry the case off to change the battery. Maybe will give the 1700 a shot

These are the ones i got and i couldnt be happier with them....I know it says for thunderbolt but its the same battery for the mt4g...i have been able to get 2 days with out any problems at stock clock speed and about 27 hours at 1.5ghz.

Two words... "Battery Calibrator" got me a slightly extended battery that is same size as standard as to avoid losing my sweet case and the charging dock so I always have a fresh batt. Name brand too. New batts take a few full charges n depleats before noticeable difference. Good stuff, good stuff...
Check out AndroidAndMe site
4Geezy ON DopeDiculous's ROOTED TBeezy!

They look like the ones from ebay. Labels are slightly different. I will order and try them.
Battery calibrator did really help I once got 23hrs on a single charge now I use my phone more like a laptop would not last for more than 10 hrs but I need at least 12hrs for my job. Thanks for all advice and shares will report back with when new battery arrives

em2 very interesting find as aware that TB used 1400mAh battery but not same size as our MT4G. Far as stock size battery goes I am aware of the current Mugen Power 1650mAh being better than of that Seidio Innocell 1600mAh. The link you provided is 2x1700mAh for $35 which is still better than current MP1650mAh for $46. Do you have any information regarding the company that built the battery? I don't want to buy 2 as I just need 1 as I don't plan to take off my case to replace it. If you be kind enough to provide some testing for us folks we would be grateful or ill have to go with MP1650mAh as I am not big fan of Innocell.

Will the battery in the OP's ebay link fit/work in a myTouch4G with stock battery door?

Well first of all I need detail regarding the battery itself as I want to check the company out. Which would determine the build quality and durability in long run. Far as the test goes stock 1400mAh vs TB 1700mAh I would like for you to first fully discharge it and recharge it so its calibrated. Then have blacklight 100% bright and CPU running highest that you can handle. Have wifi, life wallpaper, widgets on. Then pick a HD video and let it play till your battery runs out to 1% and shuts down. Make sure you record the data along with time for result. When you compare the duration of both B(1700mAh)-A(1400mAh) you will get the time elapsed. I know thats alot to ask but I really do want to put this test and compare it with MugenPower/Seidio Innocell, thanks.

lol I knew it was a longshot, I also really didn't think you would do it actually. Long ago I use to do that buy item and benchmark it and send it back hell I am sure alot of company is still pissed of at me for that. Like you ATM I myself don't have the time lol so I depend on the communities input to save time. Also I don't buy random companies product that I never heard of that is another reason I asked you for the detail. But 2x1700mAh for 35dollar does seem good only obvious question is what is wrong with it?

Hey, I realize this is a lot to ask, but I really need some help fixing some things around my house. I have a hole in the drywall in my master bathroom. Could you come to my house in Atlanta, GA and patch it up for me? I'm out of drywall patches, but fortunately, there's a Home Depot that you'll pass on your way here. Also, there is a stain in the carpet in my living room. I've tried and tried for hours to remove it, using everything from the cheap cleaner that I got at the local grocery store all the way up to using pure ammonia, which made me really sick. Do you think you could come over and clean it for me? If not, maybe you could stop in Dalton (it's local, only about 100 miles north of my house) and pick me up some new carpet. Also, by the time you get here, I'll probably be pretty hungry. Think you could stop and pick up some dinner? I like Mexican food. Three beef soft tacos and a plate of cheese nachos would be great! I know that's a lot to ask, but I really do want all this stuff, thanks.

I was hoping to get a recommendation on one of the 2000mah batteries, but if I could win it cheaply, it'd be worth checking out. Maybe I'll buy one of those wall chargers too. I could easily carry the extra battery in my wallet.
Thanks!
I never saw a 2000mah battery. I want to let you know, don't expect what you see in the picture. Those 1500mah ones are probably unbranded. It doesn't make a difference, as long as they work, I guess.

Just won the auction and got them for 9.50 plus 4.99 shipping. The ones pictured appear unbranded as well. They don't say HTC. And if they aren't actually yellow, it doesn't matter. Until someone makes a clear back plate, no one will see.
Thanks again!!
Jake
I'm a lil weary of those cheap non branded extended life batteries. If you go on amazon and read some of those reviews the users complain about this batteries not working after a certain amount of recharge cycles. The best off brand to trust has been seidio. Other than that just go oem. With a price that low it sounds like you could end up spending another $9.50 in a couple more months. Now, I love my ebay but that sounds too suspect.

'you can return it anytime if you done think the battery is what you exoected
but you will need to pay to ship it back
thank you'
I'm weary of buying them too, but he did say I can return 'anytime' and I plan on holding him to that word. If I get them, I'll test them with a voltmeter each week and ship them right back. Even if it's 6 months later haha.
Well I got them already... They seem to last longer than the stock battery. Who knows if it will last, but they are good now.
Glad I made the purchase.

How much longer we talking about? Just a couple hours?
Yeah... Just a couple hours. I'm not saying it is significantly better than OEM. I'm just saying it will work great as a backup. I also got a wall charger so one battery will be kept in my wallet as a backup and I will charge them both each night.

The reviews I've seen on these cheap batteries always seem to indicate that they aren't actually what they say they are rated, and testing shows that they don't last as long as the OEM batteries.
After a few days of use, I do not see much difference between stock 1200 and this 1700. Only payed 9.99 with free shipping, so not bad for a spare battery.

Don't believe the hype. It's pretty hard to make a battery with a higher capacity that is cheaper and is the same physical size. These batteries are compressed into these small packages and to increase the capacity without using more cells or larger cells, would constitute using more exotic materials, which would cost more. At best, these batteries are equal to OEM, but most are lower grade knock offs. The best application for any of these batteries is backup use
I bought 2 1500's for $20 off of Ebay.and yes i do see about about 2-3 difference with them.. no its not much of a difference but they do actually work.. so the hype is real..
i've always been wary of buying batteries, particularly laptop batteries, online.

No that is terrible advice. Charge cycling Li-Ion batteries destroy them, not increase battery life.
@OP: The only thing you need to do is make sure you let the phone charge for 7-8 hours after you put in the battery. After that, no conditioning is required. However, if at a later date you notice your Vibrant is not properly reading the battery (i.e. it goes from 100->90 really quickly, but goes from 90->80 more slowly, etc.), you will need to calibrate the battery to your device by completely draining the battery and charging it. Take note that this charge cycle will not increase battery life -- it will only make your Vibrant read the battery properly.
BTW Would it be possible for you to take picture of how much fatter the battery makes your phone?
Where did you buy this battery from? Looking to get my hands on a good one.

I got it from ebay and it fits perfect. If you have patience you can order through the seller below. Im in north florida and it took almost 3wks to get to me. Theres also another seller from US but he wants $30 for the exact same battery. He claims that the batteries from china are crap, he is lying. This is the seller he orders them from.

Greatest investment ever. I might be able to take pictures tomorrow. Currently my battery is at 40% and have been running for 1day 3hr 17mins as of this post. And an app im using batteryleft from Eugenes r11 stats time left is 11hrs.
Under battery use through the settings. Displays at 60%, Voice calls at 40%, Cell Stand by is at 20% Phone idle at 5%, and I made a mistake leaving wifi on all day.
Size is really a personal preference. I adds the needed weight to the phone, and makes it extremely easy to hold. The Vibrant with original cover/battery would slip out of my hands when it was naked and the rubberize battery cover solves that.
I use my phone for music in my car and at work through default music app/slacker/pandora and now I can lay my phone on its back and the speaker is not blocked.
Ive had all my friends, coworkers etc look/hold it and they all like the way it feels and that it fits perfectly in your hand. All in all, im someone who is always playing with my phone and now I getting a little more then double the battery life.
My usually day:
20+ 5min phone calls
Playing angry birds throughout the day
20+emails
15-20txt
web surfing/tapatalk/xda app
watch some youtube
listen to music at work/car 3-4hrs
wasnt connected by wifi was on for most of the day

OEM1500 v Seidio1750 v Mugen1800?

Which battery do you prefer?
According to http://batteryboss.org/ the OEM 1500mAh is the best.
I just wanted to see what the users have to say, I am assuming I will get a responses of each person claiming theirs is great. I am looking for someone who may has had one or two of these and their opinion.
Either way just looking for opinions before I buy...
Wow I got all mixed up.
I was thinking of "HTC Incredible 2150mAh Extended battery"
- post edited.
I'm guessing you're looking for a battery that doesn't increase bulk?
The options available aren't much better than stock sadly :/
Depending how old your current battery is and how much stress you've put on it by draining all the way or bump charging, getting any new battery you may see better battery life. Still would suggest the HTC Extended, but just my opinion
I have the Seidio battery and of course the stock battery. I can't imagine how they could say the stock battery is best. My Seidio greatly outperforms stock, and does so consistently. I can usually get between ten and twelve hours out of it under moderate to heavy use. As for the other battery you mentioned, I can't comment on it since I have no experience. I'm curious to hear what others have to say though. I've never heard of it but I'm always looking to squeeze a little more quality time from my phone. Anyway, I wont say mine is best but, I can say, honestly, that you wouldn't be disappointed with the purchase.
Edit: With regards to cases, Seidio's Innocase line is excellent. They slide on end to end for easier battery changes and they're 1mm thin but very solid. And +1 on the custom kernel. SETCPU as well (if you're rooted.)

They are saying OEM incredible batter is better, they are saying the OEM Evo battery is better. Inc comes with 1300mAh, Evo comes with 1500mAh.
They also said the 1750 only uses 79% of its capacity, meaning your only getting 1382mAh...
But if your happy that is good to know, improvement from current stock battery.

I have to wonder if they bump charged any of the tested batteries for the Dinc. I haven't read the article yet but I will when I get a Chance. But, as you may know, a known issue with the Dinc is its inability to fully charge its batteries without unplugging, powering off, then plugging in again. If not, you're battery will truly only have about 80% charge.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
You shouldn't bump charge, it kills the battery quickly.
They have that feature to keep the battery more stable and last longer.
It charges it to ~90% (you'll see it drop from 100% to around 90% very quickly once you first unplug it) and cuts off at ~10% (when phone shows 0%).
It's how Li-Ion batteries work and you really shouldn't manipulate it so you get more unless you are wanting to buy a new battery every month.
If you keep doing that you will start getting worse performance bump charging than people who have been regularly charging for much longer than you have been bumping.
Just a suggestion though.

Thanks for the info POQbum. I wasn't aware of that. After reading so much about how the Dinc needed to be bump charged, I guess I just assumed it was ok and didn't have negative effects on the battery. But I do have to say, I've been charging that way since September without any noticeable issues. Battery life is still great and haven't replaced any batteries. If anything, my battery life seems to have improved. For the first time today, i was able to go ten hours on my stock 1300. Maybe its CM7. Anyway, I'm in no way trying to say you're wrong though because what you say makes sense. I'm simply sharing my own personal experience with these batteries.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I recommend the Seideo 1750. The Seideo cells are Japanese compared to the stock HTC Chinese cells. I get at least 3-5 more hours of battery compared to the stock one.

Hated my Seidio battery. For the price its no where near worth the gain. The eBay OEM 1500mah by bidallies for $14... worth every penny. Love that battery.
Went through three Seidio batteries cause I assumed I had faulty ones but I barely got through the day. My TP2 battery lasts from 6am til 10pm or 11pm depending on usage.

Great read, POQbum! Thanks for the link. I think everyone should read it, if you're still bump charging. It may not change your situation but, at least you'll know why you're in the situation to begin with.

Yeah search for user bidallies. Fantastic legit batteries from him. I've bought six from him all for different friends and family that have Inc's. They all love the battery as much as I do.

That batteryboss link is still flying? The 1750 is definately a step above the stock. Not sure what that dude has against seidio but keep in mind he is one guy who basically ran one test on one battery iirc. My seidio 3500 will take some serious abuse and still last a day or 2. The 1750 was way way better than stock...I'd say a good 3 hours or so better for me. Anyway the best investment i made was a cheap ebay wall charger so I can just swap in any battery that fits my needs for the day...I switch between stock, cheap knockoffs, the HTC 2100 and the seidio 3500 now, sold the 1750.

26 is 3x too high for a 1500 battery considering I have bought over 12 on amazon for under 10 bucks... everyone has an incredible so I buy them for under 10 sell them for 15 cause people are too lazy to look themselves... amazon search htc tp2/hero/tilt... there is more but htc has been making the same battery for like 3 years and its dirt cheap...

3500 mAh Battery + Back Cover $12.97 on Amazon (incl. Shipping)

I was just looking for a good deal on an extended battery on Amazon and came across this jewel...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042TY68C/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A1N1UQZS4G6GV9
I have seen the price on this fluctuate all the way to $19.99 over the past week, and it is $5.99 right now...
It may not be Seidios, but for that kind of money... who cares?
I hope this helps people out there...
Not again...aren't there hundreds of threads relating to this same read that you added or am I being ignorant
Edit, these are the same ones on eBay from hong kong for like 6 dollars

True, but the reason why I posted this is because you are buying this from Amazon and not from some other place in Hong Kong via eBay (read faster shipping.... I am getting mine in 4 days as opposed to 2 weeks+ from most vendors in Asia on eBay). Plus, I tend to like Amazon's customer protection a bit better than eBay's tbh.
You are correct also in the fact that there is the thread here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857957), which talks about the 3500 mAh batteries (as well as a few others) but this one has digressed into a heated debate as to why Seidio wants to profit out of batteries, so posting in there would have been kinda useless.
Truth be told, I am not asking a question about the battery (which is the case for most of the threads that you are referring to), and if I would have had a question, I would have searched for an answer as I always do. I am announcing something that I hadn't seen posted here, which is special (limited time) price for a high capacity battery from a very much trusted online seller. But hey... what do I know... I am only one of the Site's admins...
PS. Next time, please don't flame.

5.99 + 6.98 for shipping
It is back to $20 + shipping...
i got this same battery from amazon a few months ago for $25...it shipped really fast and it still last all day everyday, i never have to worry about bringing a charger with me or extra stock battery like before...last week i tried out my original stock battery because i havent used it since i rooted and thought maybe with my new rom and kernels it would last longer, it was dead in two hours, so i put this one back in...from when i wake up early in the morning til when i go to sleep late at night i still have anywhere between 50-75% battery left..i recommend it.
thanks
egzthunder1-- thanks and i feel safe asking this question seeing your a mod.
beezy69 or thunder-- aparantly it is an ok battery and will do better then the 1500 that the phone comes with, but my question and please PM an anser not to make this thred full of junk, how much bigger is the battery door? i have an otter box impact series gel case it is a bit lose with the stock battery, do you think it will fit in this case? or do you know a case i should get?

I have not gotten this yet, but the back covers for the 3500 mAh batteries I have seen pics of are not that much bigger... then again, until I don't see one live, I will not trust pics. More than likely, your current case will not work though as the battery is considerably larger to begin with.
Hope this helps.
thanks thunder, did you order one? I an hoping the case fits. As it is a bit lose. Who know again 12 bucks can not go wrong.

Just a few bad reviews but the good ones far outweigh them... it could very well be because of the charge/discharge cycles...

i'm assuming this means that after you fully charge it...DO NOT put it back on a charger until it is pretty much dead?? Then proceed to charging it back to full??? I would like clarity on this as my battery will be arriving today (which I bought off ebay for $11 from a retailer in Chicago) and it didn't mention that in the listing.
Ceeb thanks for asking the question I was going to ask. As normally I do not fully discharge my battery. But I am curious to hear why. Also everyone is saying use an external charger I have been using my old tp2 for that would that work as well with this battety?
Thunder is the cheap hdmi cable an amazon brand? I bought 3 amazon brand ones for my tuner, blu-ray and tv they worked better then the 60 buck one I had. And they were like 8 bucks.

Glad you posted this.. Keeps me from having to make my own thread... Both my friend and I both purchased this battery.. And we both agree its awesome! Was $13 shipped when we got it. Battery lasts all day no problem, especially once I put Warm2.2 with an SBC undervolting kernel. Cover fits as good as stock and doesn't look obnoxious like the Seidio. It is still bulky, but not too bad.
As far as the charging/draining debate... I did 4 cycles from full to completely drained, and my friend did not (just topped off like normal). I have to say our batteries perform the same. So I'm not sure the charging/draining is necessary. I still say it can't hurt, so I would still do it. As far as the using an external charger, I would say that also isn't necessary. Difficult to get the extended to 100% with the stock ROM, because the phone stops charging once it hits 100% and then charges back up when it drops to 90% (as far as I know). So for that reason, the battery drops from 100% to 92% or so pretty quickly, but then drains slow after that. As I said, I switched to an SBC Kernel and it goes all the way to 100% (4.2Volts) and stays there. Then actually stays at the upper range for a long time, effectively giving you your 8% back.
Overall, this battery is awesome... Highly recommend!
this is the same as china batt i bought from ebay. been using mine for 4 mos now and its still doing good. one full charge lasts like 1 day and 15 hours with 6-7 hours wake time.
I really do not want to mod this phone I have the Sprint warrenty. So it looks like it will still charge so I am excited for days I go and use it for social media pictures, and series radio streaming. Thought I have to figure out my msl so I can fix the streaming stuff.

I bought this battery back in November and have nothing but good things to say about it. Highly recommended!
I paid about 30 shipped back then too. Great price! I think I might get an extra.

1900 mAh batteries

Has anyone tried these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00510XVG4/ref=mp_s_a_11?qid=1310099306&sr=8-11
I am hoping someone guineapigged themselves and can give some feedback. I really want to extend my battery but I must have a case, and we don't have a case for the HTC 2100 yet. Not to mention I read in here somewhere it doesn't add that much life.
Anyone?

I have the extended slim battery from Muegen batteries and love it
Definitely gave me more life than the OE battery
Also ordered their dock with the extra battery slot and couldn't be happier!
The Muegen battery is more than twice as expensive, and out of stock. I'm gonna give the CHICHITEC battery a try. Should get it around Wednesday next week.
Yeah, a battery is something that I would want to skimp out on and get a cheap one, to only have it malfunction and take my device with it
Never heard of that company either
Seidio also has a slim extended 1750mAh: http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi17htshf.htm

I'm generally careful with the battery situation. I also know that these expensive batteries are needlessly expensive. There seems to be a lot of emphasis on the function of these CHICHITEC batteries, and a lot of pride in the name, but that really isn't saying much.
I'll check it out and report back, though. It's pretty cheap so I don't mind incurring the cost. If it catches me on fire or whatever, I'll be sure to warn against it

I look forward to your review!
I bought those for my Incredible and use them for my Incredible 2. They're really great they even gave me a coupon for htcexpress.com code OFF10 for 10% ill assume its the same people from Amazon. There are a few problems. There is a small gap on the right side since the battery is bigger and you have to drain your battery until its dead for it to charge efficiently. From my experience I get 24 hours that's two nights just the screen off before root.

I literally just received it, so I can't review its capacity...
However, I can confirm its fit is not perfect. It is slightly thicker than the stock battery, and this is enough to make the cover bulge on one side. I removed the red label and this allowed it to close enough for my taste. I could probably shave the cover to get a better fit, but eh, not worth the potential damage.
Note: removing the red label exposes a metal cover. More than likely this is not connected to any circuitry nor chemical in the battery so it should be safe to handle and use. However, if you are not comfortable with exposing a metal cover like this, then don't take the label off.
It came charged a little over half full. It's charging now, we'll find out tomorrow how well it works.
I went ahead and dumped a bad review on amazon for the poor fit. Others may not be as comfortable with modding things as I am.
Sorry I'm acting like a kid. I have issues with delayed gratification.
Thanks for the quick reply, I look forward to hearing how you like it in the coming days.

Unless the capacity blows me away, I'll likely return to the stock battery. Yeah, the gap is tiny, but it's stressing the cover. This will wear over time.

It's advertised as 1900. I'm not giving it my typical daily commute drain due to having to stay home and wait for A/C repair man in 100+F degree weather (today's high: 103F).
I'll try to put it through its paces once I get a chance.
Edit: I'm running a stream right now that I'd typically listen to on my commute. I have an idea of the amount of drain that should happen so I can compare off of that. It'll take some time.
So far I'm not really impressed with this battery. I would expect the percentage drain would be lower, but it's about the same, if not slightly higher. I'll give it a few more days, if it remains this way, I'm switching back to my HTC battery.
Did you experience an increase in battery life after the first couple weeks with you OEM battery like I did? If so, would you expect the same "break-in" period with these?
Also, do you know of a way to reset the battery stats without root?
Sent from my ADR6350 using XDA Premium App
Calibration is the only sure way. Which is why I'm giving this more time. I've continued streaming for the past approximately 2 hours over 3G and I'm at 55%. I'm going to continue draining to see where it stops. I may go ahead and push for a bump charge for recalibration and see if I'm just seeing stats for a lower capacity battery.
On the first full charge I got a little over 5 hours of 3G streaming. This is pretty disappointing considering the stock battery can do the same. I am overclocking, but running on the conservative governor, so it shouldn't have been pushing the CPU all the way up (DI.FM streaming shouldn't be THAT CPU intensive). The display was off the majority of the time to emulate how I would actually use it in this situation.
MORE TESTING NEEDED!
I'll do another test this weekend running at stock clock if I get the chance. There's a gaming convention going on this weekend, though, so getting time may be an issue...
I wish I had something to actually test the capacity...
I've done one more test. I've swapped back to the stock battery. I do not recommend this battery. Real world usability does not outweigh the potential damage to your device due to the stress on the cover.
I might check out the Muegen battery as apparently it actually is better and may fit better.
