Any screen protectors that don't scratch? - General Accessories

Alright, I know the point of a screen protector is that it takes scratches instead of the screen. But I bought a screen protector off ebay and it took 48 hours of normal usage for a scratch to appear on the screen protector.
While my screen is fine, the colour is skewed where the scratch on the protector is. So i'm going to have to replace that.
Any recommendations for a screen protector that won't scratch so easily and screw up colours fast?

Have you tried an invisibleShield? I like using them and have no complaints about the colours. Also, the sensitivity is nice.

You can pay a lot for a Zagg protector or get the same thing off eBay for like $10 with the same warranties. Hope this helps yeah out

I prefer Best Skins Ever. Same material as Zagg or InvisibleShield, less than half the price.

I got ghost armor at the mall a few months ago, this stuff is amazing... it hasn't peeled yet and if it does the replacement is free. I've even shown it off by scratching my screen with my keys and I have no scratches whatsoever.

I prefer Bodyguardz myself. All of the good things about the invisibleshield but without most of the bad points (sticky screen, bad orange peel effect, browning of edges etc)
And you get 2 in a pack too!

I don't know what it is about this screen protector but it's amazing stuff, I only wish I had got it sooner.

I know exactly what you're looking for. Depending on your phone model, look at either the Pocket PC Techs 'Write Shield' crystal, or 3M's Vikuiti screen protectors. Both are made of a plastic that resists scratches. I've tried sheets from Boxwave and Fellowes and like you, I found that whatever plastic they use doesn't last.
Have a look at my installation guide, too. There are links to the respective brands I suggest in the post.

Invisible shield works best for me . + their warranty is pretty good .

Invisible shield works the best.

Zagg makes invisibleshield. I have no idea who make that comment....
Anyways, I got my invisibleSHIELD today and installed it. There are some slight misformed area but some of them is said to go away in 2-3 days. We'll see. Their support has been HORRIBLE though.

Best screen protector that doesnt hinder picture quality or feel

Im looking for a screen protector that doesnt hinder picture quality or touch screen feel. I didnt plan on buying a screen protector because ive never been happy with how they make my touchscreens feel (Invisible Shield, BestSkinEver) but I have a small light scratch and want to eliminate any future scratches.
I went with ghost armor... they applied it for me for 18$ and its amazing.
Reallook, hands down. It doesn't slow down swype, or dull the gorgeous screen. All air bubbles are gone after two days, and is a no water application.

I also recommend the Realook screen protector. You hardly notice that there's a screen protector on your Vibrant. Swype is great on it.

I handed my phone to my friend earlier tonight and the first thing out of his mouth was that I really should put a screen protector on it.
I have a realook on it.
My wife and I have Reallook and LOVE them. we r going to put them on my mother in laws new vibrant when it comes in. 61 Years old and wants the vibrant instead of the 3g slide.
I was using the clear freak for the past 3 weeks or so and I really liked it but I just switched to reallook and it's so much smoother! It's almost like it's too smooth now lol
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
are the reallook screen protectors fingerprint friendly? im looing for one that doesnt leave any finger prints.
So is the Realook protector similar to the Invisible Shield in terms of scratch resistance? What kind of material is it? The site says you can remove it,wash it, and reapply. That doesnt sound like tough protector like Invisible Shield or BestSkinEver (cannot be removed and reused). Is it just as scratch proof?
Anyone have any pics of it on their Vibrant? Thanks.
I also have the realook SP and love it. It is really easy to put on and I cant even tell it is there. It does show some prints when the screen is not on, but only then and they wcan be wiped off easily.
i had the CF and it was really bad, switched to the realook and its great
It's definitely not smudge proof. But I have yet to see a smudge proof that doesn't mess up the screens clarity

Best one by far is realook. I just received mine today, ordered on ebay, received it in 4 days. Super simple installation. No bubbles, prefect fit. Contrary to other posts, no lost in sensitivity to touch or any of the home buttons at the bottom of the screen. Swype is still a breeze. Doesn't cause loss of quality in the screen. And best of all, its invisible, my wife can't even tell its on. Paried with the gel skin, best protection for this phenomenal phone. Only thing I can't comment on is the finder prints, as I just finished the installation.

Realook, had another protector on it that i bought from ebay, thought it was pretty good, until i put my realook on, and realized how the screen was supposed to be, swype is much quicker with this one, and i handed my wife my phone after i applied it, and she asked me why I removed my screen protector, so she couldn't even tell that it was on!

Been waiting for these! Just ordered! The BEST screen protectors IMO(I hear sgp's are very similar in terms of quality). They actually feel like real glass when they are on the phone.
I've been using Realook protectors on my past few devices and love them. They weren't available for our phone last week and I ended up getting a SGP Crystal protector. I installed the SGP yesterday and I can say they are pretty much identical in terms of quality, feel and application. If you want to save a few bucks go for the Realook. The only difference is that SGP includes a set of stickers to help remove the dust before applying the protector.. they both include microfiber clothes and an extra protector.

lol i just got mine today too. It extremely clear and really does the display justice. When the screen is on or off, you can't even tell it's there. It's nice that an extra protector was included in the package. Maybe I'll give it to my GF since she has the same phone.
I pre ordered mines 2 weeks ago @ a booth in the local mall. They had one custom cut for me and it arrived @ the mall over a week ago. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. Will report back with thoughts.
i just put mine on and it is sweet...you cant tell its on and it feels like slick hard glass. nice job realook!

Gorilla glass is hard to scratch, but its not scratch proof. My old phone had gorilla glass and got scratched when I was at the beach by one grain of sand that was on the screen and scratched the screen when I went to brush it off. The next time (different phone) I had a screen protector on and got sand all over the screen. Some of it scratched the protector but not a single mark was on the screen. I know if I hadn't had a protector on it would have gotten scratched to hell. The first phone that got scratched I tested it with a key afterwards. I tried hard to scratch it without digging the key into it, and it didn't scratch. But yet a little grain of sand did. Haha plus if you search on YouTube you can find many examples of gorilla glass scratching. So you know what they say. Better safe than sorry.

Does anyone know how this compares to the Boxwave Clear Touch? Really liked it on my Evo and have one on my Sammy now. It seems to improve the performance of Swype and makes the screen a lot more smoother in it's response.
The best in my opinion. I love it!!!

this is the best screen protector I've used. I really like that it covers EVERY part of the glass. I also like that they include a small piece for the glass on the back camera , i had to make my own for my evo. I can see a rainbow effect on the screen when its turned off which is the only way i can tell its on there. but the picture quality is not changed in any way. Very nice.
Can anyone report the difference between sprint's clear screen protector and realook's?

There are a lot of things out there that are more abrasive than keys. Everyone just thinks of keys as a device scratcher so screen protector demos always use them for easier points.

Keys are almost exclusively brass, one of the softest metals there is. I think a key would be hard pressed to scratch *normal* glass.

[SCREEN PROTECTORS] What do you use?

I've been look around to find a nice screen protector to use. I've been using a crappy $1 from eBay, which don't get me wrong does the job, but I'm looking for something nicer. Something with more quality and maybe a different option, like oleophobic or something.
I've been looking around and reading a lot of reviews. It seems I'm stuck and I can't decide.
Realook VS. Spigen
What do you suggest? Any thought? What do you use for a screen protector?

Your screen protectors scratch easily? I don't even think that they are near necessary with this phone. I've had mine for about 5 and a half months, I work construction and carry it around in my pocket without a case or screen protector and I don't have a single scratch on the thing. It's neigh invulnerable the only damage to it is a thin scratch along the bottom back by the speaker but its not on the glass so I don't care.
The Zagg Invisibleshield is pretty good, but it has kind of an orange peel look to it. I've only been told good things about the Steinheil Ultra Crystal screen protectors. You could always try that, or the other screen protectors they have.

XO skins does a great job little less orange peel look and not quite as sticky as zagg invisible shield though both are good products priced about the same. I've used both xo on my e4gt now zagg on my evo 4g.
Check out the Steinheil screen protectors (Amazon search: Steinheil Epic 4g Touch). They are pricey, but well worth it. I have the Ultra Crystal on mine and although it still picks up fingerprints they wipe right off with a microfiber cloth. I've had it on since I got my phone 4 months ago and there is not a single scratch on it anywhere. They do have different types (like the oleophobic) so you should find what you're looking for.

Zagg InvisibleShield HD is amazing.

would like to recomend this screen protector to anyone. It is well worth the money even though it is a water base protector, it feels like glass.i already wasted to much money on useless screen protector with my GS3 cause i thought Zagg was overprice (and still do) .
i bought the Xtreme guard = crap, skinomi = it was alright didnt like the rubbery feel and went with film screen protector.
I bought the Tech armor HD which i think it looks amazing but does not cover the entire screen and it would get scratch easily. i used 5 film in 2 weeks. After doing my research i heard of the HD version of invisibleshield and that it feel like glass.
It is amazing and it doesn't affect the image quality of the screen, the only problem would be if you are willing to pay the high price ($25) for it.
the RETAIL price for HD is $19.99 and $14.99 for the orange peal (but can hold a car) version if you buy from them directly.
also every few months they have 50% off or buy one/get one free sales..
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
im thinking about getting protection for the back also then i dont have to worry about scratches.. if you have the full body protection the only thing you need to worry about is the bezel and corners...... which is actually a big deal
but im going to try to not have a cover with this phone and see how long it lasts... with insurance through bestbuy i think i will be fine
Is this screen protector attached with the wet method? Also do you see an orange peel effect?
No orange peel.. It's like a normal screen protector.. Only in hd.. I'm serious lol its beautiful.. Non orange peel no funny texture almost can't even tell it's there..and yes you put it on with the "very wet"method.

After trying the Tech armor HD dry application (film) will never again use dry skin. First, it does not last. i went with 5 screen protector in 2 weeks. I love wet application but hate the rubbery fill. I hate regular zagg, bestskinever, skinomi, xtremeguard and other wet protector. This zagg invisibleshield HD is different.
The surface is smooth glass, so it feels like a dry application protector but has the durability of a wet one. no orange pill or rainbow effect like i was getting with the xtreme guard. $20 might seen to much for a screen protector but, trying different one i already spend much more than that. $20 and lifetime warranty for having the best screen protector, if i knew how good it was i would have bought it from the get go.
If you want scratches all over your screen protector then dont get this. Has happened on multiple replacements and with NO heavy use. This has been discussed before.
Save your money. Get a dry application screen protector. SGP
Zagg Protectors suck. There are many wet protectors that are cheaper and better than Zagg protectors. I only use Best Skin Ever as my protectors of choice. They are cheap and last the entire life of the product. For example, the screen only protector is 8.99 and the full body is 11.99 I believe.
To those that say dry protectors are better than wet, i'm sorry but that is absolutely not the case. I rotate between both types on different products and wet is definitely better all the way around. It takes a bit of work to apply, but once it's on, it's self healing and if done in a stemmed bathroom, it's impossible to get any lint or dust underneath the protector during the application process.
Dry protectors do scratch and are not self-healing. If applied right, a wet protector is visibly non-existent on your product.

Nope, the Zagg HD Dry is what T-Mobile was selling when the S3 came out launch day. Unfortunately, that was the screen protector I had to go with at the time because there were no other screen protectors out on launch day. That was a horrible mistake. That thing has a horrible texture and it was picking up lint and dust right after I applied it. I took it off literally 4 hours after I applied it. Read the reviews on a google search on Best Skin Ever, they are cheap and the quality is well worth the price. The company even prides themselves on offering low-cost, high quality skins and they are not lying...its an excellent product.

You are absolutely right, I will never buy a Zagg product again. Their original skin was OK, but even then I didnt really care for them. This new HD material is garbage though.
Try a BSE man...I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I used it on my iPad 3, Kindle Fire, and even my laptop. I eventually went to a dry protector for my iPad 3 because my case was lifting the BSE.

Personal preference; but just remember... scratch resistant doesn't mean scratch proof. I use Zagg Invisible shield protectors; it's definitely not the same as going fully naked, but I'd rather have that little, thin, barely noticable piece of plastic over that beautiful screen and remove any hope of scratching it than to pull it out of my pocket and see that fateful 3mm scratch right in the center of the screen.
Depends on you use it. The scratching doesn't happen when you use it. It happens in your pocket and laying around.
I've never used screen protectors. But I also keep my phone in my front pockey BY ITSELF all the time. Never in my pocket with my keys or anything like that.

You know, Skipjacks, they say the Gorilla Glass screens don't scratch from keys or cigarette lighters, or whatever; it's more than likely going to come from dust or little pieces of dirt/sand/grit in your pocket lint.
yes get a screen protector. A case is your choice but a screen protector is a must.
The screen will scratch very easily ... with anything in your pocket including keys...
The thing is, if you keep it without a screen protector your gonna see a tiny lil scratch ...and then a few days later you will see another... and then before you know it your screen is gonna be filled with them.
So yeah get a screen protector.
Get a tempered glass. Feels like the screen is naked.

In teh 2 and a half years I've had a smart phone Iv'e seen no scratches from keeping it in my pocket.
It don't hurt to have one ;] Spigen makes some great thin tempered glass ones which I would recommend.
The screens on these phones don't scratch. Google "gorilla glass drag test" and see for yourself. Screen protectors are a waste as they scratch very easily. Even the so called tempered or hardened protectors are no where near as scratch resistant as the screen itself. I've broken my screen twice but have never managed a single scratch.

I had my phone naked for the first 2 months I owned it, then started noticing tiny scratches when I looked at the display in the sunlight.
I went and bought a Spigen Glas.t Tempered Glass Screen Protector and Spigen Neo-Hybrid case, but as said above; not necessary but is preffered.

That's my same setup. I bought the NeoHybrid case to protect the back and sides, and the Glas.t nano (.15mm) slim protector. It's as thick as a regular plastic protector that you can get for a few bucks anywhere, but is a smooth glass that feels like a naked screen and would give good protection from shattering. The idea is on a fall or anything, the screen protector will shatter and protect the actual screen like an airbag. Also doesn't look like it smudges as much as the actual screen. I'm loving it so far. :good:
Try this one "GEARMAXX Screen Protector" which be available in eBay.
Good quality with well customer service and easy application. Best protectors money can buy.
