Poor fitting battery cover - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Does anyone's battery cover seem loose on one side? Mine is... also the insert over the charging port is loose. Not a deal killer but just wondering if anyone else noticed this.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk

Mine is not like that. Sounds like you need to return it to vzw. Everything on mine is nice a snug.

Just got off the phone with tech they're sending me a new cover. Seems to be a known issue. If that doesn't sort it they're replacing the device.

My cover is good, though I did notice the insert as well....just as long as the port itself isn't loose

Just the luck of the draw with phones these days. Exact same device with completely different issues. I myself can barely get my back cover off its on so tight.

Does your cover kinda 'click' on the right side? Kinda hard to explain as I feel like its really tight, but the one side seems like there might be a very slight gap. It is kind of annoying. If this is your issue and they're willing to work with it, I might have to call them as well...
Its the ONLY thing I've noticed about this phone that I don't LOVE! Well, other than the locked software, but that's a whole other thing and will hopefully be corrected soon!

Good to know... I'm going to have to call them tomorrow and at least get it logged. I kind of got used to it, but if they have a fix I'd love to get it fixed. I actually notice it more when typing now than when touching the side of the phone...
Let us know if the new cover fixes it. I always prefer that to getting a new phone for some reason.

Haha, same here. The whole time I was like "New phone, don't break it, new phone, don't break it!!!"

I just got a replacement due to the plastic piece around the metal chargin port is loose. it's extremely noticeable when trying to take off the back cover.. I got my refurb today, and SAME problem.. I think it's an issue with all inc2's, I saw two Verizon stores with their display models same problem.. one lady told me to bring it in to the store tech and they will fix it, I hung up called back and got a replacement shipped next day without question. BTW I HATE the way they **** refurbs now, very unproductive...esp for sending the old one back, AND whats weird is the refurb came with no battery, but WITH a SIM card and back cover... I'm keeping the back cover lol and the old SIM card is only good for my phone so I can't imagine they want it back.. I will update in 5-6 days if I get charged for the back cover, I've NEVER seen a phone sent with it, I've had about 5-6 Eris refurbs, and around the same for inc1.. got the inc2 on its release date 28 April, and can't believe the port is loose on this.. I originally had the hard gel case that was out when the phone first came out so I bought it and actually got a refund cos there was a Bulletin on it for recall, and now that I got my replacement that case really ****ed my power button up, my new refurb power button is sooo much better that gel case did something, so if u have that case id call for a refurb complying about the power button...

If you get a refurb, they come with new back cover... also, I received my package today... Saturday... USPS.. I wonder if they aren't sending with fed ex anymore, either way came REAL FAST! awesomeness.
EDIT: called back, and they did change from FedEx to USPS which means we now can get our refurbs on the weekends!! saweeeet.
I'm keeping the back I don't care if they charge me. the way they package it now is horrible for sending it back, not to mention no return label, they said they are sending me one but who knows and where do I bring it now, I had an old FedEx some I could have used and they said I couldn't use that anymore.

Okay, maybe buy clear battery door from custom evos BAD EXPERIENCE (Positive Update)

Okay, so I ordered one a WHILE ago, and I received it. The door did not fit, in other words, it required an immense amount of pressure to place it on the phone with all clips holding, and even then the stand would not come out of the back of the case without excessive, and i mean excessive, force. When it was out, when you pushed it back in, it shifted the door out of place and forced one of the clips to pop off. It was not form fitting, as in there were gaps between the battery door and the back of my evo. Just for kicks I tried it on another evo, maybe it was just mine. Didnt fit there either. I contacted by email, no response. Website? no response. I eventually received a PM on the xda-developers forum, and was told to record a video of the problem with the battery door and send it to joey3002.
Really? Honestly? Over a 17 dollar battery door, I need to record a video and send it to you? Like the hassle of trying to get ahold of you and send it back to you is not enough, I would do it for pure amusement?
If I was really that ignorant, and could not figure out how to put it on, the worst that would happen is that you would receive a perfectly functioning battery door in exchange for another functionally perfect battery door, and be out the 44 cents for shipping it.
I understand that this was a great undertaking on your part, and you are trying to make a buck like the rest of the world. But I think that your customer service has to improve a bit.
I am sure there are many people who are happy with their clear battery doors, and the idea is f****** awesome, but there is no order support whatsoever, I wasted $17, and its just sitting on my desk in the same plastic wrapping it came in months ago.

UPDATE: Joey is working with me. I was incredibly frustrated, and hopefully this will rectify the problem. I will keep posted.
So the seller its on here?
Sent from my Evo, ho!
Same thing happened to me with mine. I got a Dremel and just slightly grinded down the slot for the kick stand and it's been working lovely for months now. Taking it off feels like you're going to break off one of the clips or something, so I just pop the top clips off when I need to remove the battery and only take the whole thing off if I need to remove the SD card. It's not a PERFECT fit, but I like the look of it so I deal with it.

Chargeback, duh. Had a similar experience with a screen protector that claimed to be bubble free and had 8 bubbles when I applied it precisely according to the instructions.
I emailed them once, did not receive a satisfactory response (to use scotch tape or something), called my CC company for a chargeback, got an immediate credit and final approval in a few days.
I bought one when I first got my Evo, I think it looks great. The fit is tight, when you first get all the clips in place, you almost have to slide the case down then to have it completely. It does allow dust to get under the cover which matters more as the cover is clear, but the stock cover does that also (not quite as much, but it still does nonetheless). To take it off I slide a credit card or some other similar card along the edge to pop all the clips out, then just take it off normally. So it is an incredibly tight fit, but it works fine for me. I swap between my old hero battery and Evo battery as needed, and I don't find it difficult at all once you have a system down pat to remove it.
I had the same issue, pm'ed and got no response...
followed videos and everything and nothing worked...oh well.

Chargeback. Call your CC company. Tell them it's crap. They will take the money from the merchant's account and put it in yours.
The only way to get through to shady sellers is to hit them where it hurts, their bank accounts.
Sounds cool though

Same here. I have 3 of them and they all work fine. Not one speck of dust has ever got in there and I have it in and out of my pocket all day. The fit was a bit funky when I first put it on but it settled in within a week and has been great ever since.
For those of you with complaints, the seller (Joe is his name) will work with you but remember, he's just another member like you and me who decided to make these. He's a regular guy with a day-job and a family and definitely NOT here to rip anybody off! Just be patient and he will work something out with you.
I have reached out to joe, he has either ignored me, or not responded, or asked me to record a video, as I stated. I think it might be too late for a chargeback unfortunately.
I had the same fitment issue. Tried it on both mine and the wife's evo. I emailed him twice through his site and sent 3 pm's. Nothing.

Atrix backdoor cracking

I just noticed this after I took my Atrix out if its case, but it's cracked where pressure is put on the corners when taking it off. ):
Anyone else having this problem? Any idea what to do to seal the crack? Or do I have to buy a new backdoor? I just got my Atrix like 3 months ago.

Mine is doing the same thing. I don't think many things can fix it, considering you keep flexing, bending and cracking the plastic every time you have to take off the cover for a battery pull. Just be cautious when you take the cover off, don't forcefully rip it off.
like already said, just be careful while taking it off. you can find a new one here:
http://cnn.cn/shop/motorola-mb860-atrix-black-battery-cover-p-11668.html
Thanks guys. Another quick question, does the replacement cover come with the mesh part that goes over the speaker? Or would I have to take that out from my old cover and stick it on the new one?
Contact Motorola and use the online chat function. I had the same problem and they had one shipped and to my home in 3 days. No charge.

Battery Door breakability?

The battery door on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus has 2 broken hinge things only 4 day after I got it... One is at the top, and is noticeably popped out, and the other is on the side so you can't tell its broken. Is anyone else having an issue with the battery door?
I'm not being rough on it or tearing it off the phone, I've taken it off around 4-6 times. Maybe I'm closed it wrong and it broke them. Seems really cheap for a $300 phone... Never had any issues with my other Samsung phones (Except that the plastic back scratched extremely easily on the Fascinate and Charge).
I'm pretty careless about snapping them in, but if you work from bottom to top, I don't see them breaking very often.

[Q] Worst Build Quality of a Phone

I've owned my Galaxy SIII for almost three months now and it probably has the most defects out of any phone I've ever owned. The hardware buttons are loose, the back cover doesn't stay down on all the corners, and the back cover came with hairline cracks already on it. However, the final thing that really made me consider getting a replacement is the fact that the back cover doesn't even hold the battery in all the time. When I set my phone down on a hard surface without being extra gentle, the phone turns off. I temporarily solved this by putting a folded up piece of paper under the battery cover to keep the battery in better, but I don't think this should be necessary for a $200 flagship phone. I'm already over the 30 day return period, but would these reasons qualify for me getting a replacement phone under warranty?
I have 0 defects. My phone costed 549
Anyways call sammy and send it in for warranty
Yea I'd get a new one I paid $649 for mine and its perfect no problems at all!

Lol this is still by far the best phone I've ever owned, but it doesn't make up for bad quality assurance on Samsung's part. I'm going to get this replaced and hope the next one I get still underclocks and accepts kernels as well as the one I have now.

Sorry for being blatantly sarcastic but loose buttons, cover not seating properly, battery falling out, and cracks? Obviously it was damaged. Before you got it. Pretty sure I'd return a TV with a cracked screen right away before stating it was the worst build quality of any TV ever due to dead pixels and screen flickers and the picture going wonky. I mean, come on man lol. Those defects absolutely would have qualified.. had you reported it right away.

I agree with the group consensus; is there any reason you're reluctant to bring it back? Do you feel guilty about dropping it or something? If not you should be on your way to the store and hope the phone gods have mercy on you since the 30 day return period is over.

Since you're pass the warranty buy a new back cover or a case like an Otter commuter, it will keep the battery and button in place...btw still dont get why you didn't exchange it if it came with a cracked back. Lets see pictures of all these defects!
Wow, I did a COMPETE work over on my phone when I was getting it, checked EVERYTHING, the sales rep was getting a little agitated, but I ask her, if she were spending $500+ on a phone wouldn't you check everything? She shut her pie hole quick, and had her get another one once. Oh well.
Unlike some of you, I actually have enough hand-eye coordination skills to keep my phone in my hand. Cases are bulky and for the clumsy. I am still under the one year warranty and the hairline cracks are only visible from one specific angle. They're really not bad defects, but they just add up and get annoying. I'm only asking if this is worth getting my phone replaced because I don't want to restore to stock for no reason.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
....... again..... if it had these defects.... and they've "added up" to become annoying.... why exactly did you decide to wait 3 months to try to do anything about it?
And if you think that cases are "bulky and for the clumsy"... then the only cases you must see anywhere are OtterBox Defenders and such. Did you ever hear of TPU? next to no bulk added to the phone (about as thick as a DVD... roughly), and gives the phone a bit nicer feel in the hand. Plus makes it a LOT less slippery than with no case at all. I've never dropped a phone either, but i'm not the type that's willing to risk the off chance that something DOES happen that a little bit nicer grip could have prevented.
The only "issue" (if you can even call it that) that i have with my phone that you are also experiencing is the loose volume/power button... which i'm pretty sure EVERYONE is experiencing. They aren't screwed into the phone in any way. They are slotted in, as they are for just about every phone. Yes, they're slightly loose, but it's not like they're ever going to just up and fall out of the phone.
At this point i'm tempted to ask if the hairline cracks you speak of are actual cracks or if you're just seeing the brushed finish of the back of the phone (assuming you have the Pebble Blue)
Still... why did you wait 3 months? Especially with the battery issue and such. I can toss my phone onto my bed, cover or no cover, and it doesn't shut off cause the battery popped out of place.
I've worked in the wireless industry for over 10 years I've yet to see anyone keep a phone out of the box with parts literally falling off and out of the phone. Hell I've never seen that at all for that matter. I can guarantee you've dropped that phone and I doubt that stuff happened out of the box. You may be in the on year warranty but if it has that sort of physical damage good luck getting it replaced.

Thanks folks. I did not drop it. I think it may be the case being too tight especially when I try to take it out.
I called Samsung and they would look at it and do diaognostics for free. The spokes person said
they may be able to replace the bezel for about $70 but I don't think they would actually do that. I'm sure their technician
will recommend replacing the screen, even though the screen it is not broken, cause it is all tightly glued together. Thats over $200.
I think it is kind of a bait and switch. Second. I don't want them to do dianositics. I just want them to fix the part. But they refuse to fix anything
without doing diagnositics. Go figure. Btw, showed it to a samsung sales person at best buy and low and behold he had the same crack and
the same case! It is called tech21 impactology. I bought it the first day I got the N3...
EDIT: Anyways. I don't know for sure what really happened, even if someone with the same case had the same problem. Correlation is not the same as causal but it makes you wonder.
EDIT: My sympathies @willham
I have the same cracked in the same exact spot! But I have a few cases, so I don't know which one could have caused it. I have never dropped my phone since I bought it back in October.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
I have the exact same crack in the exact same location. Must be a place of high stress. Not overally worried, but sucks cause otherwise mine is in mint condition. And I have dropped it a few times though, sitting on the toliet to the floor, off the couch, off the bed etc. No major drops though. I have the supcase unicorn beetle case on it since I've owned it.
