The button after 2 weeks seems like it got hard to press like its Digg in anyone having this problem

I have had the phone for a while and I haven't had that issue .. you sure you haven't dropped it ? or something else that might have cause it to jammed ?

It works it just doesn't always click

Well here is a funny thing that happened to me I got case for it and then after a while I got the problem you had but it's an easy fix .. Take off the back cover get something like a pair of tweezers and grab the button pull it up click on it few times and voila FIXED.

I bought the gel type Verizon case with the phone so it's been in that since day 1 and I have such a problem with my power button I actually use a widget on my home screen so I don't have to push it to put the phone to sleep. I'm past my 14 days and I don't want a refurb, I think my phone has a problem but as long as it works, it works. so. I compared to my inc1 with the same gel type case and it's amazing how much harder the inc2 is. oh well love the phone.

Is it that shiny gel type case? That's the only one I could find. I notice in the case the button is hard to push. But this is hardware version 0001 lol we all know how that goes.

that case has a technical bulletin out on it for the issues with the power button, bring it to your store asking for a refund/exchange.

I'm going to try and get a refund for that gel case... I just picked up a to part incipio case at the Verizon store and I love it!, I can actually use the power button again. Hopefully they refund that gel case without a reciept. That was the worst $20 I ever spent.

Poor fitting battery cover

Does anyone's battery cover seem loose on one side? Mine is... also the insert over the charging port is loose. Not a deal killer but just wondering if anyone else noticed this.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
Mine is not like that. Sounds like you need to return it to vzw. Everything on mine is nice a snug.

Just got off the phone with tech they're sending me a new cover. Seems to be a known issue. If that doesn't sort it they're replacing the device.

Does your cover kinda 'click' on the right side? Kinda hard to explain as I feel like its really tight, but the one side seems like there might be a very slight gap. It is kind of annoying. If this is your issue and they're willing to work with it, I might have to call them as well...
Its the ONLY thing I've noticed about this phone that I don't LOVE! Well, other than the locked software, but that's a whole other thing and will hopefully be corrected soon!

Good to know... I'm going to have to call them tomorrow and at least get it logged. I kind of got used to it, but if they have a fix I'd love to get it fixed. I actually notice it more when typing now than when touching the side of the phone...
Let us know if the new cover fixes it. I always prefer that to getting a new phone for some reason.

Haha, same here. The whole time I was like "New phone, don't break it, new phone, don't break it!!!"
I just got a replacement due to the plastic piece around the metal chargin port is loose. it's extremely noticeable when trying to take off the back cover.. I got my refurb today, and SAME problem.. I think it's an issue with all inc2's, I saw two Verizon stores with their display models same problem.. one lady told me to bring it in to the store tech and they will fix it, I hung up called back and got a replacement shipped next day without question. BTW I HATE the way they **** refurbs now, very unproductive...esp for sending the old one back, AND whats weird is the refurb came with no battery, but WITH a SIM card and back cover... I'm keeping the back cover lol and the old SIM card is only good for my phone so I can't imagine they want it back.. I will update in 5-6 days if I get charged for the back cover, I've NEVER seen a phone sent with it, I've had about 5-6 Eris refurbs, and around the same for inc1.. got the inc2 on its release date 28 April, and can't believe the port is loose on this.. I originally had the hard gel case that was out when the phone first came out so I bought it and actually got a refund cos there was a Bulletin on it for recall, and now that I got my replacement that case really ****ed my power button up, my new refurb power button is sooo much better that gel case did something, so if u have that case id call for a refurb complying about the power button...
If you get a refurb, they come with new back cover... also, I received my package today... Saturday... USPS.. I wonder if they aren't sending with fed ex anymore, either way came REAL FAST! awesomeness.
EDIT: called back, and they did change from FedEx to USPS which means we now can get our refurbs on the weekends!! saweeeet.
I'm keeping the back I don't care if they charge me. the way they package it now is horrible for sending it back, not to mention no return label, they said they are sending me one but who knows and where do I bring it now, I had an old FedEx some I could have used and they said I couldn't use that anymore.

Does sprint repair the volume rocker?

Will they my bottom volume button really acts up like if its out the tpu case itll act fine but with the case on I ress the bottom button and it will even turn the device up and sometimes it feels as if its not clicky as the top one so is it rail easy to take into a sprint store for a simple fix?

Are you sure it's not the case causing the problem? Kinda sounds like it from what I am reading but in any event if you have insurance and they cant fix it they will replace it for 100. If you do not have insurance they will replace it for 35 unless they think it is something you did to the phone like dropping it. That is why the insurance is so important because even if it is user error they will replace it. Like a cracked screen, water damage etc..
Well I have two different style TPU cases and the bottom volume button is just not as clicky and sometimes it feels like its stuck but if I take it.out the case its fine what gives?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
With the case on,,, it sometimes won't work. With the case off,, it works fine.
Should I repeat that? Case on, no workie. Case off, works fine.
I would say its the case. Case on, it won't work. Case off,, it works fine.
The only difference of when it works or not is if the case is on or not.
Yeah, my money would be on the case.
I have tried 3 different tpu case and have a trident aegis, the tridwnt is perfect for volume and the tpu cases all are difficult to change

I'm a Sprint tech: if you have insurance, there would be no fee to look at/repair the phone, nor would there be one to replace it. However, it would only be replaced if it were deemed to be an actual hardware issue; since you said it works fine without a case, I would have to presume the case is causing the majority of the issue. A nicer tech would likely put a different volume button or back housing on the phone to see if that helps but they would be under no obligation to do so.
Hope that helps... Might as well call your store, explain the issue and see what they can do!

Otterbox Commuter stiff buttons

Hey guys, so I bought the Otterbox commuter and I must say Im happy with it except for one thing, the buttons are hard to press on. Both the volume and power key. I wanted to know if there are any suggestions on how I can soften it up, so it would be easy to press one. I thought it might get easier as time will pass but its really really stiff and even if I will wait a few weeks, it won't be a huge difference.
If anyone knows some tricks, or can even give me an advice about this, that would be great. Thanks

it will soften up as time pass by, like a month or so. Sometimes, the way you put on the commuter makes the volume and power buttons not working/stiff. Lastly, you'll get used to it and you didn't even noticed that you had built muscles on your fingers.
okay thanks
Pull or push the soft rubber where it peeks out near the screen close to the buttons. The hard plastic is so tight it distorts the rubber and misaligns the buttons.

HTC Double Dip Case - Scratched my HTC1

I bought the Genuine HTC1 DD case and found that its really really tight sliding over my black HTC1
I got the centre section about 1/4 the way from the bottom up, before I had to start really forcing it so I decided not to keep going..
I gently pulled it off the phone and discovered it had scratched the bottom speaker curved corners each side....
FFS.:crying:
**Edit** my HTC1 is black

I have the black HTC1. There are also scratch lines on the back of the phone from the fabrication lines in the case.. Not good..
I will get some pics later today but for now, if you have a BLACK HTC1, DO NOT GET THIS CASE!
I want to get this case for my Silver but after seeing this I'm having second thoughts. When I'm going around with people, being busy I can use this and when I'm not too busy I can use a pouch I planned but not sure now.
Sorry to hear that, I have the DD case as well, it also hasn't scratched my phone, fits nice and snug. White HTC One. (Rogers / Canada)

Well maybe new ones won't have the same problem. Most sellers are out of stock and I really want to buy this case.
And also some people doing it wrong all the time; you slide your phone from up not bottom. There's a big difference.

[Q] Is your power button clicky?

Hey, guys. New owner of the Z1C here, and I'm wondering about my power button. It's really not clicky at all, maybe just barely when I push it a bit harder, and it just seems like something's not right about it. So, is this the case with all Z1C's, or are your power buttons clicky?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers, guys!
mine is not clicky, but also doesnt feel loose at all
i prefer not clicky type of buttons anyway so its good for me.
but yea it feels soft compared to volume buttons
Hmm. I guess I didn't get a defective device after all.
It's just that I was used to clicky feedback. I had a G2.
How much does it stick out of the outer ring (the one closer to the phone - that doesn't move)? Mine's a millimeter out, I'd say.
Thanks a lot for your answer!
Mine gives me a kind of clicky feedback if I push the power button. And it stands out about 0.7 millimeter.
Yes, mine too, but it's quite weak. Can you confirm this as well?
Thanks for your answer.
clicky, the same way as volume buttons
Hmm. Mine is less clicky than the volume buttons. Sometimes it's even hard to press.
I'm asking all of this to see if I should replace my device while it's still fresh.
Mine is clicky, but not audibly clicky.
That's ok, I didn't mean audibly either.
I just meant that you have a strong feedback that you pressed the button.
Thanks for all the answers so far, guys.

After a year my Z1C has a very unresponsive power button. Not the smallest click, nor the smallest feedback.
I don't think it even moves at all. It still works, but in the majority of times you have to press it very hard to work.
This was a bit progressive. Another friend of mine has a Z1C for 3-4 months and upon playing a bit with it I would say that is on course of breaking as well...
Obviously it is hardware fault caused probably by weak materials...
It is in service (warranty) for 7 days now. When I'll have a response from the service I'll share it here.
my power button is still clicky after 18 months. my problem is the squeaky back cover.
