Problem With 3G And Dialler Storage? Developers Thoughts - Xoom Android Development

i know this isnt a Q& A section so ill try to structure this without a question
recently my 3Geuroxoom has been having trouble with the following process
""the process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly"
Does anyone see this on a stock ROM? i havent actually done anything to make it say this, could someone look into this and find out why it may do this.
I have a feeling it may have a link to the dialler storage as ive seen this before, but would it also possibly involve something we could look at restoring / fixing if its becoming a problem for other xooms as it meas you cant use 3G under any circumstances?

or can someone at least do a backup of there dialler storage APK and send the back up my way, without the data of course xd

[Q] Phone Goes Crazy

So every custom ROM I've tried (TrulyEpic, Syndicate, Nebula) after a while it just stops working correctly. I end up with constant need of reboots and then Google Services Framework always FC's on me. Apps start to FC and it all goes downhill. I have yet to have a ROM last longer than a month without doing this. I don't download a lot of apps and the ones I do use are very mainstream.
Does anyone else have this problem or is it my handset? All is well as long as I stick to stock. I hate stock though, because I do rely on tethering and I'm not paying double for data. That and Syndicate is so fast and smooth.
Thanks for listening to my venting. Sorry for taking up forum space.
You really need to search...
The FCs are due to data corruption, you can't improperly shut off a no-journaling ROM or that's what happens. Reflash your rom, make a NAND backup then install the backup and journaling will be on and it will stop happening.
Sorry, I did and I couldn't find what I thought was the issue. I did give you a thanks though because I didn't know that.

It's fine, I was just saying you should search because there are a dozen threads where people are complaining about tons of FCs.
As for a NAND backup, would I need NANDROID or would the Backup/Restore in CWM work for that? If I need NANDROID then I'll probably just keep a copy of the ROM on my SD card an reflash whenever I get corruption.
EDIT: Nevermind, I think I got it.

data.img

can someone direct me to a way that i can extract my google information from a data.img so that i can put that in my newer rom that gives me a "cant establish connection with server" because i cant seem to get things working when i flash new...and when i do an advance restore and choose the data.img from my old account, my google works perfectly with great connection but my youtube or anything with videos dont work....
or someone atleast kno a more active community? i have asked so many questions here and there isnt really anyone active or they probably dont care..
First of all, that question isn't entirely clear. You've tried only restoring data through recovery and it works, but videos don't? Do you have flash installed?
Try backing up your accounts with Titanium Backup then restoring. The problem is most likely with your rom or with Google.
Also, less than two hours without a response doesn't make this an unhelpful community. You're welcome to find a new one, but with that attitude people won't want to help you.
Next time, give more information so people can help you. What rom is giving you issues, which rom are you coming from? There's a thread somewhere about extracting data from nandroid backups. I'm not sure what you'll find there or if it'll answer your question, but you can try reading that.

i understand what your saying , and if its abbrasive the way it sounded i assure you it was not. reason i said that comment is this...i been a member since 2007 and lately i asked the same question in different forms on other threads. as far as what your saying, i flashed mainly all roms and nothing..omj, cynogen, but will try the titanium backup thanks.

About the IMEI problem

As I read way too many threads of people who "lost their IMEI", "Don't have a registered network", "Can't make any calls", I am making this thread.
There are way to many people around here who fall for this EFS Problem, could there be made a clear sticky post with a super clear warning for this? People are still giving support for this problem, but the people won't learn if they make the mistakes while someone else have to solve them. since this new update of samsung I wouldn't call backuping recommended, but rather MANDATORY, the risk way to high to get the phone bricked to a point where you would go for warranty(Which could be denied), or left over with a brick..
Now I am not 100% informed about the efs problem since I've never faced this problem due to clear backups and always stayed on the new update and never got back, thats why I haven't made a complete thread about it. But I would appreciate if someone would..(I could make a thread and fill in every added comment to this tho)
So any new guy around here just reading this thread anyway who would not know what the EFS Problem actually is, please search for it, and backup your efs files before you go on and flash (another) rom.
Thanks in advance,
Armazia

[q] help with nandroid issues

Please forgive me if this is in the wrong spot or if I broke some forum rule, I have never posted here but I have read a ton, thanks for all the help you guys have posted by the way.
First off I am not by any means an expert on computers and rooting but I have a decent understanding of the basics and can easily follow online instructions to root. I obviously have a d2att, I recently rooted it. I was happy with it unrooted for nearly a year but when samsung released the 4.3 update my phone really started sucking. Eventually I decided to root just to get a rom that functions better. I have been running gummy rom kit kat, I think its the nightly from march 10th, I have had no real issues other than some random reboots here and there. My mom begged me to root her d2att because she also was tired of the buggy samsung 4.3 update. I eventually rooted hers, even though I really didn't want to, knowing that I would get calls about every little issue and I would have to run and fix it... anyway
She has had issues that I have not had, she says that her phone randomly turns to silent periodically and causes her to miss calls, and she also says her bluetooth is intermittent. I don't use blue tooth at all so I wouldn't know but I have not had an issue with randomly going to silent. I have tried a lot of custom roms over the past 2 months since I rooted, including CM11, CM10 (all of them), AOKP, slimroms, of course Gummy, and a variety of others. All of them have had some major bug that is unbearable, from not connecting to wifi or not sending and receiving MMS, except for gummy which I have only had the random reboots.
Okay, so when I rooted mine originally I made a nandroid copy of the original rom after I rooted it, I didn't realize but somehow this nandroid file created to my internal memory instead of my sd card, so when I loaded a custom rom it was deleted. Like I said I'm far from an expert and that was a huge mistake. So anyway when I rooted my moms (same phone) I made a nandroid of her stock rom after the root and saved it to my computer, tablet, flash drive, external hd... etc.
Now that she is having problems with the absolute best ROM that I have found functionality wise, I thought I would restore her stock rom and debloat it, try my best to get it running better. I used her nandroid back up and restored my phone to it, only to get a ton of errors, everything was force closing. I kept getting the popups that "unfortunately ... has stopped" they were nonstop. Literally all I could do was hit ok and try to do the same with the next window, finally I get rid of those and the phone wouldn't run any apps or make any calls etc. So I rebooted to recovery and went restored my nandroid that I made earlier that day and all is fine with my phone again.
So here is my questions. First off when I made the nandroid of her stock rom I renamed the file STOCKROM, that way I would def know what it is and to not delete it. Will renaming a nandroid file make it not work correctly?
Also would a nandroid back up of her phone simply not work correctly on mine? I thought it would but it def does not. Maybe there is saved data that doesn't match my sim card.. I have no clue.
If I used this nandroid on her phone do you think it will work corretly?
If I messed up the file be renaming it, does anyone have a backup for stock that I can possibly use?
Last but not least, any recommendations for custom roms for d2att? I really just want speed, and no bugs
I am really sorry about the excessively long post, but I wanted to fill in the background info before I asked my questions, in case it was needed. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.
Again please forgive me if I broke a forum rule or posted in the wrong spot, I don't typically post on any forums ever, I just tend to read the posts of others. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY AND ALL HELP, GREATLY APPRECIATED.

If you decide to go back to stock 4.3, this thread should help. AT&T I747 UCUEMJB Stock Restore
I've never had to use a nandroid and definitely have not tried one on a phone different from where it was made, but from reading in the past I don't believe that renaming it is causing the problem. I believe it is probably due to either trying it on a different phone or the file structure may have been changed when you moved it to the pc. Hopefully someone more experienced will chime in regarding the nandroid on your phone. If it is still on her phone I think it may work.
thanks

Thanks for the tips. I know its still on her phone and the name hasnt been altered. I wanted ti try a debloated touch wiz for her. I havr liked Gummy but loaded a carbon jelly beam tonight. So far so good. Any suggestions for custom ROMs for attd2? I have had a time finding one bthats useful. I'm glad I have my gummy on nandroid. When I finish screwing around for her that's where I'll head back to I'm sure. Unless I find a sweet bug free ROM through a reccomendation. I'll check the link in the AM thanks for the reply.

[ROM] Intergalactic v4.1 [AllianceRom][UCUEMJB][4.3][1/8/2014]
question
You MUST have the UCUEMJB or UCUEMJ2 bootloader and the UCUEMJB modem installed before proceeding or this ROM will not work properly. Your data and wifi may be broken if you do not do this first. These are available here: Bootloader and Modem Options

Quick question. I have only rooted and flashed cm toms and aokp. I haven't done anything specifically to change my boatloadsoor kernel. I really don't have the knowledge absolute that. The first step says what's listed above. What does this mean? Can you help? Thanks for the time and tips.

Regardless of which ROM freshly installed I get "process com.google. etc..." errors

Regardless of which ROM freshly installed I get "process com.google. etc..." errors
Before I provide more details if needed I just wanted to check the first thing that I should which I'm clueless of. But so far its been a few ROM's. The latest were a couple stock ones and before that, the last time I was regularly using this phone a few years ago I believe it was an ASOP(did I get that right?) ROM. Are there a few common sources I can check for problems that might solve this? The messages seem to just pop up whenever and they are all different but usually start with process com.google then something else. Just need a point in the right direction as when I google these the only general solutions I found were to clean a variety of caches, apps and I've tried clearing dalvik and regular cache from TWRP but that never helped. So any ideas would be appreciated. Also for some reason can't install apk's. Play store works tho. I get that 'error parsing' error. Not sure if related.Trying to set this phone up as a backup phone.
Though I do not know the answer to your problems I would like to suggest you move your thread to Q&A or General because you will not get any answers in the section you posted in...A mod Might move it but if not you definitely should...Just word of advice that's all

Thanks. Actually its been solved. For the moment at least. I think for my latest reinstallation actually. Don't know why it ever gets these issues. I guess I'm afraid to accept that it could be hardware somehow which would be more difficult to solve than software. Well anyway, hopefully it stays this way
