[MOD] Battery % Mod + Icons stock kernel - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Just a quick framework fix i did, to add battery mod + some new icons for the statusbar. Its pretty easy to make, but i thought someone might like it, so why not share it.
gonna see if i can find a app to take a screenshot. Any way, copy the zip file to your phone, install via. clockwork. oh and its based on the KE2 kernel, and official samsung rom. (this is the kernel i am using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 )

I dont see why not, after all its based on the stock rom. Let me know how it works out for you.

Doesn't work for me.
I just installed the Clockwork app, I do 'Install ROM from SDCard', I click the ZIP, then it boots into recovery and it says 'Unknown volume for Path. Can't mount SDCARD:/batteryandicons.zip'. I've tried several directories...

Thanks for the help, but if I do 'volume up + home + power' on boot I get into 'Android System Recovery <3e>'.
I have 4 options:
- reboot system now
- apply update from sdcard
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
I do 'Apply update from SDCard', click the batteryandicons.zip, it says 'Verifying update package..' and then a red error:

I must say it´s not working under Litedroid 1.1 rom. I suppose it does under KE7 oficial firmware.
I made even wipe dalvik cache before flashing it via CWM but when phone boots, no notification bar, no upper icon....
Any way, I think it´s the same battery mod Litedroid Rom is already using as I´v seen in screenshots...
Godd work anyway. For people still using Ke7 without cooked rom, it´s prettiest than the stock one

You have stock recovery installed, that´s why you can´t flash it. You should install new CWM recovery by Chainfire. see this thread:
[30.05.2011][CF-Root v3.5] KE2/7 - su+bb+C
Once you have this installed, you can do what StarF said

sounds like you dont have the clockwork in your kernel, only the app. You probaly need it in your kernel aswell. If you got the CWM app and chose flash update.zip and chose the batterymod.zip it would mabye work, but you need the clockworkmod in your kernel.

want me to make a version for lighting rom ?

But if I run this kernel:

I won't be able to Overclock to 1.5GHz right?

Yes, of course.. I made a CWM backup before flashing your mod (a way also to test cwm restoring... I´ve not already tested til today.. so even best)
Regarding to having a version for lighting Rom.. it would be nice.. if you don´t mind and it will be useful for other users....
Thanks in advance

I was testing some time ago but due to lack of time, i gave it up... but I hope to have time soon in order to make something similar

[Q] How to install MotoGinger 2.3.4 :(

Hi Guys,
I could not install the Rom MotoGinger 2.3.4 Can some one please guide me with proper steps? I have installed froyo and its rooted, Also installed the 2init.
I didnt understand the 2nd step steps, When exactly should I install the nandroid-backup and after installation why should I wipe? Please can someone help me out?
- Starting installation with any original froyo 2.2.2 (rooted)
- Install original 451-134 in "normal way"---> nandroid-backup (thx to walter79)
1. wipe via CWM
2. advanced restore (system/only)
3. flash fixed-sbf
4. wipe via stock recovery, then reboot.
----> DOWNLOAD
- From market download and install defy 2nd init
- Choose latest recovery (cwm 4.0.0.6)
- Download MotoGinger.zip and copy in microsd
- Enter in recovery, wipe/data and install motoginger as a zip file, then reboot!
- To return to any froyo rom, you just flash with rsd lite in the usual way! Before the flash, i suggest wipe/data and cache from recovery!
I did it in the following way:
Recieved my phone with 2.1, booted the phone and rooted the phone.
Installed Clockwork Mod recovery.
Booted in clockworkmod recovery.
Made a nandroid of my current device.
Restored nandroid of my choice 2.3.4
Cleared cache and factory reset.
Booted into Flash mode
flashed fixed SBF
booted phone.

looks like 2nd-init is acting weird..make sure ur 2nd-init is 0.6.1..and entering bootmenu check whether cmw is 4.0.0.6..

well motoginger-4.zip is another way to install the ROM through custom recovery...no restoring no flashing in required..supposed to be an easy way to install a ROM..
720p patch is only for red lens defy..it wont work on green lens..again u have to install the patch through custom recovery..

I solved the problem by myself.
The reason was that i tried to apply motoginger-4.zip with
goapk custom recovery because it seemed to work!!
I got a success message!
Finaly i installed 2ndInit and latest recovery and used it.
Finally everything worked.
My only problem that i can not switch off the lock screen in security menü as in 2.2.2 worked fine.

Stuck on unrevoked "rebooting into recovery"

My DINC is latest Gingerbread 2.3.4.
I'm trying to get rid of the awful 'low memory' problems that I'm having on a daily basis.
I'm following this XDA guide
[HOW TO] Fix the "Low on space" problem (in plain English)
The PC drivers got installed fine.
But when I run unrevoked 3.22 it gets stuck on 'Rebooting into recovery'. At that point the phone shows the screen: ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0 (the screen has 9 selectable options in blue text). I can select the first option 'reboot system now' and the phone seems untouched. I've tried it a few times but keep running into the same problem.
Any ideas??
If you're in Recovery (oh that sounds so rude lol) press the optical button to select options. The power button functions as the back button while in recovery.

Trying to be delicate you're done! you now can download this file from androidsu (removed for it being junk) and then put it on to your SD card and flash it by going to install zip from SD and then find this file and say yes to flash. It will flash the superuser binary and the application effectively rooting your phone. you may also want to flash the s-off tool from unrevoked called unrevoked forever from here to give you the ability to flash alternate radios or splash screens or whatever you decide to!

I hope this helps!

I'm done? Sorry but I'm a bit confused - The instructions say in the last step:
-Once it's done, unplug your phone and ensure that a "Superuser Permissions" application is inside your app drawer.
Shouldn't I be seeing a new app named 'superuser permissions'? Since there's no app with that name I assumed unrevoked did not complete it's process.
Can I somehow verify that unrevoked was successful?
The fact that it has flashed clockwork is success enough, I know you want to be thorough but I have done this with my own phone as well as a friend's with perfect success of rooting the phone. My Inc now runs ics with perfect ease after completing the process you have. And trust me, the hardest part is behind you. If you download the files I cited above then you will flash them both using your new recovery then you will be set to do endless nods to your phone. My advice though before flashing anything to your phone is to check the Md5 carefully to male sure you don't flash corrupted files to your phone

u can verify by going to google play and download root checker or download whatever app that need root to function.
as for superuser app, sometimes that app just didn't show, in order for it to show is you have to manually flash it in clockworkmod recovery, just like nschiwy say. its actually fine to do that so don't be worried , as a precaution cek the MD5 to make sure you dont flash a bad zip file.

For some reason your md5 number doesn't match with the md5 I downloaded of either the 3.1.3 zip mentioned in this thread, or the 3.0.7 zip you mention.

I have a bad situation here - my DINC is now stuck rebooting over and over into the white startup screen.
Here's what I did -
I copied to my SD card the 3.1.3 zip file that nschiwy linked in his post. Then I did this:
6.) Power down, then go back to hboot. Use the volume keys to select "Recovery", press power button to select and enter Clockwork. Now select "Install zip from SD card", then "Choose zip from SD card", then navigate to the Superuser zip you placed on the card in step 3. Select and load it. (NOTE: For those that don't typically load zips directly in CWM, use the trackpad button to make selections in CWM, the power button brings you back one menu.)
All this went fine. I used the Recovery command 'power off'. But then when I powered up it now is stuck in reboot. I did flash again from the zip file on the SD card, but same problem.
I see the troubleshooting tips posted here (I will copy it below). Pulling the battery didn't help. And I can't seem to reflash from the unrevoked app because my DINC just keeps boot-cycling...
What shoudl I do??
My phone keeps rebooting over and over and I can't do anything!
Pull out the battery, wait for 15 seconds, and put it back in and turn the phone back on. If it still keeps rebooting, pull out/re-insert the battery again, go into hboot (see above answer) and try the following steps. You can stop as soon as one of them works!
1. Restore a backup that you made in a previous step (if you have one).
2. Reflash the .img file from Step #8.
3. Flash the .img file here: http://dinc.does-it.net/wildstang83_...2_11232011.zip (note: this one will take you back to stock, so you'll have to start the guide over).

1. skip cause u dont have 1
2. reflash clockwordmod but since ur phone keep bootloop, i think u gotta flash it in HBOOT.
3. reflash rom by going into clockworkmod recovery and install zip from sdcard.

if u can go to clockworkmod recovery menu, just go to mounts and storage and then mount USB storage plug the cable and voila it will detect ur sdcard.

Yes I can get to Recovery via HBOOT, and yes I can mount USB storage - that is great thanks! I will try to flash the 3.0.7 zip from Recovery. If it doesn't work then I can try and flash the Tip #3 zip file from Recovery.

I can answer this question: it is impossible. There are certain problems in work of this Mod. The first: does'nt making full nandroid backup. The second: does'nt flashing boot.img. It is necessary to develop this program still. But something, already is able: root, interface modding, ect....
Howdy.
I have flashed this recovery image and for the first time, can boot into recovery and see what I'm meant to see! Thanks. Previously (2012 hardware) I just hung on the white HTC logo screen.
Now, if I select backup and restore, press the power button, all the text disappears and I'm left with the central hat image... but nothing much happens. Pressing power again brings me back to the main menu. Same thing with -power off. The top option of reboot system now works just fine.
Any ideas? I'd like to backup my current system before flashing WildChild 3, you know - just in case anything goes wrong!
EDIT: immediate edit. cancel all of the above, I'm just new to recovery (obviously!). I went through the main menu a few times, it told me the back button was now active and away I go - backing up as we speak! Apologies!!! and thanks!

Oh one more thing...
you might want to try to redownload the rom
just in case its fragmented somehow
if you get into recovery you can copy over the rom again while in recovery
make sure you are usb unplugged
boot recovery
plug usb into computer
go to mount
only cache, internal sdcard and micro sdcard are selected on mine
then click on mount usb storage
copy over fresh copy of rom
then follow my flash instructions

To the OP, I'm glad you got it working. JMT JB3 is great. I'm on it too. I love it.
Just a side note on these scripts. Darkside does not work with anything based off of the official 4.1.2 release because of the Preload that is included. You need to use the new modified ones from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2235141

The procedure for a rom installation is usually listed on its OP<-Opening Page
One more thing... you asked me in a text message about root...
TWRP 2.5.0.0 has the ability to root a device...
here is... IMO the easiest procedure to install stock 4.1.2, recovery and root
flash stock rom with odin (I rebooted to system looked at the sock rom quick and went back to odin(should still work without restart toggle on))
flash TWRP 2.5.0.0 (with reboot toggle on)
open TWRP go to reboot and reboot system (it will prompt you to install root)
when phone boots open SU update done!

Redownload the ROM. Also turn off sig verification in twrp.
Flashing a ROM isn't as hard as some people make it. All these crazy steps.. And waiting and blah blah.. Useless.

There is no ROM on your device. That's why it gets stuck on the splash screen... No OS to boot into.

[MOD][I9505XXUEMK8 / MKE][UPDATE] 4 in 1 Extended Power Menu

hey all
as some requested me by PM here is the new updated MK8 / MKE 4 in 1 extended power menu for DeOdexed stock roms :fingers-crossed:
Flashing instructions:
1: Install Any Custom Recovery (tested on PhilZ Recovery)
1: Place the ZIP on Internal/External SD
2: Reboot into Recovery
3: Flash ZIP
4: Reboot
Known issues
Q: If the hot reboot ain't working. Where's the problem?
A: Hot reboot uses command "pkill", so you need to have symlinked that command to the busybox binary
or install busybox manually if your Rom doesn't contain a busybox installation.

It works perfect on MK8 deodexed stock roms, also hot boot works perfect as long as your rom includes busybox, if not just install busybox free from google play store

It did not works for me. Pre-Rooted MK8 and installed busybox and PhilZ recovery. Everything is the lastest version.
I re-installed this package 3x times but still nothing. I push the power button and there's no more option just like before.
So what is the problem?
