Defy Sound Quality (Music)

I just purchased PowerAmp and I'm blown away with the sound quality of Motorola Defy and how PowerAmp can utilise it.
I never thought I would be happy to use a mobile phone over my Sony Walkman NWZ-S639F. This Motorola Defy thing is simply a jewel : )
BTW, I've been worried about using my in-ear headphone in case I'm going to damage the speaker as it was reported. I'll report back if that was the case over the time of using the jack.
please do!, how long of music playback can you get before your battery dies?
poweramp + defy = awesome

I'm running a test for you and I'll let you know based on my two hours test. The battery was fully charged when started playing back...
Here is the battery test after 4 hours playback.
Network Type: GSM
Software: PowerAmp
MP3: Most tracks were ripped with 320 bit rates
Volume Level: 60%-65%
The battery was fully charged to start with and after 2 hours the battery status was at 10% usage. Two more hours later the battery status still remained at 10%. The battery icon on notification bar didn't lose any bars.
I was so puzzled and impressed at same time that I restarted the phone to make sure all status info remain the same and they were.
Notes:
I hear that the headphone type can impact the battery life. The lower frequency response is the less battery is used.
wicked! so it used less then 10% over 4 hours very good, no idea why i havn't bought this phone yet!
edit: im not sure if you know or not but apparently the battery only changes in 10% increments so its charge would be anywhere between 90-100%
Further test result under the same condition apart from using the phone ever so lightly...
2 Hours more playback + 8 hours standby + a phone call (5 mins)
Battery usage was increased to 30% losing one bar battery icon on the notification bar.
sound quality
Cant wait to get this phone, my current phone a HTC desire has poor sound quality .
I am quite amazed about your statement. Since the first day of my defy ownership, I have been worrying about the poor sound quality compared to my previous Sony Ericsson P1. Since the earphones have a cheap (IMO) feel to them, and dont fit me well either, I decided to hunt for a replacement.
I grabbed some Sony DR-EX39PP earphones, but found that even worsened the situatiuon. I also tried my wife's Defy (yes, I was once quite excited about this device), but hers isn't any better.
I have to turn volume all the way up to get a decent sound level, and the sound itself is thin and like metal. Using PowerAmp even lowers the available volume, and doesnt improve the sound much.
All in all NOT really usable, IMO. On my next android device purchase, I'll make sound quality a high priority item which I will be checking closely. The defy is not a candidate in that race, IMO.
just my opinion, for a balance

Should I sell the HOX and buy SGN2

Been checking out the N7105T today and has me thinking, HOX is a great phone however the battery is not interchangeable and s-on really sh!%$ me off.
Why is that even a question? GN2 is a beast and beats HOX hands down. Go right ahead. Highly unlikely that you'd be disappointed
Uuaahhh... YES!
i often played around with hox as some friends have them.
HOX > N2
build quality (BY FAR)
i like the camera a tad more on the hox
ui
development possibilities (documentation is there not like exynos)
maybe that pixels cant be seen on the hox (due to smaller screen)
Sound
N2 > HOX
Display color. I just love amoled
Battery 3100mah is just massive
Smart stay and some camera features (that's why I always come back to sammy roms and cant stay on cm or pa or whatever)
swappable sd and battery
even though there are less points in favor of the note 2, those points are more important for me. Super AMOLED and battery life are just such a big impact for my personal decision.
I own both.
Started with the HOX but the battery life was frustrating so I bought the GN2 and it was the right choice in my opinion.
The screen size is quite noticeable in a good way and battery life is a huge improvement.
The note 2 screen is not as sharp but its still good.
Speed wise they honestly feel the same. Both quite smooth with small lags here and there.
If I had the choice again, I would still buy the N2. Though the choice wasn't as hard for me because I still kept the HOX as a music player and spare phone for the car lol
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Lags here and there? Mine doesn't lag at all - when does it lag, usually? Are you using stock kernel?
hi ,
i gave my hox to my son !!
thats how fed up i got with htc ,battery use.. etc !!
Got the note2 and have never missed htc (had about 5 htc phones, over period of time )
got note 2 for about 4./.5 mths now.
on stock rom 4.1.1 and battery use is just awesome ( comparing in" general "of my hox and other devices of mine )
eg in standby mode (overnight ) 1 to 3 % battery use and about 11/ 13 hours standby !
also very smooth ,no lag,and once you start playing around and using Spen ...!!!!
issues like ,"sds( if this ever happens, service provider or insurance, options ? )
, rooting does not worry me as,first it easy to do and i am very happy overall.with performance of note2.
good luck
Dump the HOX. The only thing godly about that phone is the screen but everything else is miles away from the note 2. I am particularly disappointed with the audio quality through earphones because HTC really hyped it up with the beats audio. You will immediately tell the difference between quality once you switch to the Note 2.
Thanks all for your input, battery interchangeable/ life is one of the big deals for me so its time to hunt around. Will donate the HOX to my son, I'm sure he will be wrapped.

I have been using this device for almost more than a month now, and I am very much satisfied.
The phone performs smooth, with almost no lag at all. Runs on completely stock android and will get guaranteed updates from Google for 2 years. Like we are supposed to get the Lollipop starting by mid-December. But yes, Google is not so energetic with Android One, so don't expect the device to be all sparkling at the top of the devices charts with other nexus and flagships in any news. We had to wait for a lot of time just to get a news of Lollipop for our device. But nevertheless we will get it for sure so no worry there.
Sound quality on loudspeakers is just fine, not great but still satisfactory, on the other hand, sound quality in headphones is pretty good. In-call volume and clarity could have been better, it's a tad bit on the lower side, however, it doesn't bother much.
Camera is strictly "Satisfactory". You can click decent pictures with the rear camera during daytime, however, during night just don't depend on it for any important events. Front camera is okayish too. Does the work, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Battery is a mixed bag. For me it's perfectly fine. I use my device in 2 ways, when I am out (completely on 2G/3G the whole day) and when I am at home (completely on WiFi).
I get an average of 18 hours or so in the first case, with mild-medium usage, i.e continuous shuffling between 2G/3G, 10-15 mins of browsing, half n hour of songs, half n hour of calls, about an hour of whatsapp, 10-15 mins of gaming. Definitely lasts me from morning to evening till I get home.
In the second case, I easily get over a day of battery life (and yes, by day I mean 24 hours) with almost the same usage (perhaps a bit more that the former, with more chatting on whatsapp) as above except for that its connected to WiFi all the time. The longest I was able to run it till date was about for 51 hours I guess on WiFi with minimal use.
Ultimately it all depends on user to user for battery life, some people find it too less, some find it just sufficient, I personally fall somewhere in between those 2 categories. Battery capacity should have been a bit more, I would have used a few extra mins in gaming.
So to get it straight, if you are going to using it for heavy use, like gaming and continuous 3G then you are going to be terribly disappointed with the battery life.
Another thing is that please remember that price point at which we are viewing this, at this price point you can't really complain.

Overall speed

Would you say that the Samsung C9 Pro is "fast" in day-to-day use? A higher rating indicates that you think the Samsung C9 Pro exhibits fantastic performance. Like, is it as fast as your tears when you watch The Titanic?
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
+6Gigs of ram
+6 inch screen
+4000mAh battery
+18w fast charging
+Hi-fi
+Samsung pay
+Dual speakers
-snap dragon 653
-crap camera (although it has 2.1 mega pixel camera)
-no Android 7.0 now
-fast charging will enable when the screen are dimming
-not so much third-party rom support(but lineage OS)
-low cost performance
-Crap finger print sensor
The daily use performance are pretty GREAT, the 6gigs of RAM Will let you forgot to clean your recent tasks. The screen is fancy and big enough to enjoy YouTube time and the dual speakers feels great when you're using it, you can't back to only one speaker times. The earphones sound quality are great and I can't go out without my earphones.
But when I want to unlock my C9 pro, it is pretty terrible. It will take several times to unlock the phone and the recognize speed is so SLOW, maybe takes 1s, which is terrible.
(The most important thing is I don't like to play games on my phone,so I don't care about the performance of CPU)
hpe to improve camera quality

-The Hi-Fi feel nothing if I use some hi-fi headphone
-I think the fingerprint sensor is pretty good ,t can read fingerprint without turn on your screen, unlike the iPhones
-The camera in day time is pretty good but at night...Ummm... It's bad
-Let me talk about the CPU performance,I always play games, the CPU performance if u play some heavy games ilke what I did (e.g. PUBG mobile, Arena of Valor) the CPU performance just like crap ,it can handle it but low FPS and lag something. But still, the CPU performs a top middle range phone performance.
Also the battery life is pretty bad while playing heavy game
Any wrong ,I'm glad to correct information

Doogee bl5000 (after two months) real life experiences review

Well, I am not a fan of specifications and benchmarks so I thought it will be nice to share my real life experiences with the DOOGEE BL5000 to all who may still be in doubt of what the phone is all about.
This is a 3 in One review of the BL 5000.
The Unboxing
While it is nice to Unbox a phone with 100% battery which I've not experienced before, we immediately noticed that the back flashlight was poor and maybe a little contributor to the low light camera performance. But don't let that dampen your mind about the camera, it takes stunning images with fair to good light conditions.

LIVE VIDEO CAMERA TEST
For this one I took it to several concerts and one thing was constant, this phone can suppress noise (in the loudest environment) and record good quality audio (alongside video) in the few concerts I took it to.
What is more amazing is the clean video at 8x zoom - a delight for those who love staying at the back, or far from the stage. The Auto focus did struggle a bit when hit directly with concert lights but regains focus in a second or two and that did happen just on two or three occasions. Above all, the battery life can outlast any concert and there's enough space and very fast write speed for smooth recording.
Here is a live sample of my concert recording.

REAL LIFE USAGE EXPERIENCES
This time around, instead of collecting benchmarks I decided to do a real life usage experiences capture with screen recording. There are some tricks in this one too. The Ram can hold several apps, the day to day use is smooth and after installing about 100 user apps, there was no lag. Of course there is root - SuperSU or Magisk whichever suits you more - before then there's Twrp recovery 3.1.1 the backup directly to PC worked but I had issues restoring the full PC back up from PC. You have to unlock the bootloader if want to flash Twrp recovery through fastboot (I created a version flashable with SP flash tool)
Giving root permission to Greenify and activating Doze made the unlocking time from deep sleep add some extra milliseconds - it's still fast enough though but wasn't the experience before unlocking bootloader and rooting.
The Fingerprint scanner is multi directional and fast but requires some getting used to in terms of proper placement of your finger(s)
All the antennas are superb (GSM, WIFI AND GPS)
just check out the video for more

Full in depth Review - DOOGEE BL5000
My bl5000 is the worst phone I ever had. Poor battery life, does not last a day with same tasks I used to run on Lenovo Vibe P1 and it lasted almost 4 days on one battery charge.

I have had similar experience with BL5000
I bought 4 months ago and after the first 1 month of good work, i experienced many issues on wifi, battery consumption and charging.
I remember fake specs on the battery that wasn't as described 5000mAh, but really 3500mAh
how is you battery life? and any update of security patch recently?
