i am willing to buy defy from India. will i be able to root and customize it with other ROMs?? can i install CM7 and gingerbread?? i mean can i use all the customization available here in the android development for defy like overclocking??
i am kinda Noob....sorry if it sounds silly...

dont pay 18800 yaar...when you can get it for 17.2K ...flipkart gives awesome stuff....i ordered 2 mth in april last week...my date of packing was Mar 2011...full factory seal packed..!!
and please dont fall for that polo watch offer i had from LG and the watch is totally sucking...it wont last for a month also..instead buy some timex or other Tissot watches ...!!

i just went to inspect the device....just mentioned it dude.......well the warranty ect everything will be perfect right?? and especially will i get it within 3 business days as promised??....coz am new to flipkart...

yep , they gave me a bill which i can use as warranty....all good ...Hyderabad is soo big even you might get in 4-5 days instead of 3

I had it sent to a friend's address in London as I couldn't risk loosing it or getting it stuck at customs here in Istanbul.
So I flew to London just for a day to pick it up from my friend )))

Couldn't you just buy out HTC for that money?
I like to be the first to own some things and there is cost for that which I am willing to pay.
I remember flying to Germany to buy the Sony Ericsson P1i on the first date it was ever released......
The funny thing I went in the morning and flew back home the same day and the German police at the passport control couldn't understand why I would fly to another country to buy a phone and return home the very same day, he tought I was upto something else

If you figure out how please add "once it hits my carrier I will own it" because the US carriers have not released it yet.

But anyway , thinking of buying and ordering the the thing are two different things. You may think of buying TP2 but but decide on a Nokia N97 for example, this could affect the outcome of the Poll When you bought it or ordered it, you could vote here

Problem is I really liked the Defy but is it really worth paying for twice £260 x2 ?
What is it like with 2.2 and will it ever get an open bootloader?
Convince me to get another one, because I can't decide.
BTW I'm now using a Nokia 5800, so it may not take too long before I get the urge.

Question is: What are alternatives and what features do you need? If you need waterproof video, the selection is probably limited . 260 Pounds sounds a bit expensive IMHO.

1.Don't know yet, 2. probably not.
I personally think the phone is worth it's money and it is a solid and reliable device, but because of the locked bootloader I will not buy a Motorola phone again and hence will not convinve you in buying one.
By elementary economics/accountings, your bricked phone is historical and shouldn't be factor in your decision

Why pay so much? On ebay you can find new for 200-220 euros. i found mine for 190
problem resolved
checked on Ebay and put in a bid for £215 on a new sim free Defy and won. Was checking out Samsung Galaxy S as well, they look nice. FTR Nokia 5800 is fairly rubbish, but worth £70.... hello Ebay
The moral here was that we shouldn't be too tight with our money. Or tie string on your phone when in the sea, you choose.

curious to see if anyone knows if retailers like Best Buy will offer the Moto 360 on their Black Friday deal list?
I just picked up mine at Best buy via open box item ($217), and I have 14 days to return it. Given that this is a new hot item, I'm not anticipating very much of discount in savings if made available on Black Friday - retail is still $250 at both best buy and Moto's website.

I bought an Open Box 360 at Best Buy this past weekend for $205 but I have until Jan 15 to return it because of their holiday return policy....you may want to look into that....I doubt it will go much lower than that. What i might do is see if the Gear S drops a lot so I can have both LOL!
The best I can find is buying Target gift cards on black friday at 10% off, then waiting until Saturday the 29th to buy the 360 from their website at effectively 10%off. it would be 224 before taxes

The Jan15 return policy will only give you store credit in case you return the watch and not a refund.

That's fine since if I return it I will get either the ZenWatch or Gear S...but so far I am liking the 360...the only real issue is trying to find a good and safe metal band that won't break the bank

Yup. Couple of things I am interested in terms of long term usage is 1) Amoled burn-in (some LG GWAR users reporting burn-in) 2) charger pin problems like rusting/loose contact (That happened to original LG G watch)

That's only after keeping them on charger overnight with the screen on? I turn my screen off while it's charging. Then remove it after charging is done.
