Yeah this one, or a lexar class 10 if you want high transfer speeds with your pc.
Or a sandisk class 2 if you dont care about recording movies to your micro sd card.

the sandisk 32gb class 4 will work good with 1080p recording ?
and where i can buy it ?
because on amazon.com i can't find the class....
thanks

When I bought the Samsung WB2000 / TL350 compact camera which recorded 1080p @30fps it required a "Sandisk Extreme"... It apparently has a 20MB/s write speed. No class written on the card though...I think it's class 6 as class 10 is 30MB/s.
I would have thought you'd need a higher class to write HD video...

Note: "Sandisk Extreme" is a SD card not a Micro-sd

There is no class certified for 20MBps or 30MBps.
Class 10 = 10 MBps, thats why is 10.
So class 6 = 6MBps, class 4 = 4MBps, class 2 = 2MBps.
Class is equal to the minimum write speed in random spaces.

No, Class is the minimum write/read speed in sequential. The Lexar Class 10 32GB only does 0.018 MB/s in random write!

any more answer that might help me choose a good card ?
thanks

You need to figure out what you need in terms of speed and size, then how much money you want to spend. A 32GB class 10 card is extremely expensive, where a 16GB class 6 is around a third of that. I plan on using my Galaxy S II for holding all my music and some movies so I ordered this yesterday: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208573. Not too expensive and fast enough for most things.

i want 16gb but don't know which class and brand to take...
my main concern is recording video in 1080p

I have a class 10 Lexar 32GB Card.
You should buy a brand name card (Sandisk, Lexar, Kingston). I say that because there are IN GENERAL more reliable. There will be cards that are made by lesser known brands like Patriot and A-Ram but that does not mean they are any less reliable but more faults are reported for them than with Sandisk, Kingston or Lexar.
Having said that, my previous card was a 16GB Class 6 Patriot card. Worked awesome for a whole year and is still working in my friend's Desire (gave it to him and got the Lexar card for more space). In conclusion, don't buy eBay cards is what I'm trying to say.
Class? That's been debated A LOT. I got a class 10 and I can clearly see the benefit. Media Scanning is less than 10 seconds (mind you, I've got close to 38gb full in both internal and external cards), file copying is very quick and gallery files show up quicker, when I seek in a video file, it moves instantly (even with a 1080p movie).
It just depends on what you require. If you're slightly more patient, you can save 30-40 bucks by getting a 32gb class 2 card instead of a 32gb class 10 card.
Hope that helps. I recommend both Lexar and Patriot. Go for class 6 at least if price is not an issue.

16/32gb microsd - where to buy?

I have a HTC Desire and im after a larger storage than 4gb included.
I'm a bit wary of class 2 cards in fear they will be very slow. And I'm also wary of fake cards on ebay for example.
Also does class 4 vs 6 make a large difference?
I want a 32gb if its the right price (and not class 2?) but im not sure where to buy from. The site must be able to ship to new zealand.
Thanks.
I know that Verizon is supposed to be selling 32GB microSD cards, not sure about the class but I don't think their class 2. There normally $150 but have been on sale for $99 at least 1 or 2 times. So even if it is a class 2, still better than the $199 price for the Sandisk 32gb one on Amazon. Either way good luck, I hope you find the card your looking for!

I bought a 32gb from http://www.jr.com.
Seen the verbatim 32gb mSD class6 at amazon for 89$/free SH, and seen the 16gb's from 25-60 depending on brand/speed
Hey just wondering, where are you getting info on the micro SD cards? All I have found so far says 2 is faster than 4. I'm not saying I'm right your wrong but I just purchased a class2 today under that assumption.

lol. that is regular sd card not micro sd.
There is not a 32gb class 6 micro sd card on the market as of today.
Yeah, class 4 is about twice as fast as class 2 cards. I would say the best price/speed ratio right now is the Kingston 16GB Class 4 MicroSD card. Best places to buy micro sd cards online would be Amazon and Newegg. There's hardly any bull**** with the products on those 2 sites.
Amazon UK - You've now got 32 gb class 6 micro sdhc at £88.00 link class 4 at £85 link . I just ordered a class 2 for £64.49 including postage - link
Hope it helps.
Uhmm, a bit of confusion in my mind, wich class is enought for my Galaxy S?
The 'class' rating on the card can basically be thought of as the tested minimum transfer speed (sustained - not random. A random write can far exceed the class rating).
class 2 (~1Mb /s)
class 4 (~2Mb /s)
class 6 (~3Mb /s)
and the highest I've seen is class 10 (~4Mb /s) which I doubt any of us are going to buy.
So far as I know, there is NO CLASS 8 - don't buy one, it's probably a fake. By the way those ratings are in mega bytes not mega bits if you need the bit speed just multiply by 8.
Now if you're ever told 2 is faster than 4 you can laugh in their face - when (dealing with technology) has a lower number ever been better???

I meant to answer this earlier but any class would be more than enough for the galaxy s. The reason you want a higher transfer speed is that loading 8, 16, or 32 GB of data can take forever depending on the type and amount of data. As far as the phone is concerned, a class 2 is fast enough for a swap file, video/movie, or music.

Hey gang. I am new here. I just purchased a 32gb card class 2 for my Samsung Vibrant. I noticed it handles just about everything except recording hd video directly to the card. The first few seconds during playback show as rainbow colored garbled pixels then clears up to play clearly. Reduce the recording resolution of the video and it plays fine. Record hd video to phone then transfer to card and it plays fine. It is a brand new card (kingston) with next to no data on it so far. Anyone else having this issue? I am thinking I need a card with a higher class rating.....

To record HD video smoothly you are gonna need at-least a class 4 and maybe a class 6. Class 2 doesnt write fast enough to keep up, thats why you had the pixelation distortion.
As far as a 32gb class 6 card, I am afraid we are out of luck until these cards come onto the market. Samsung has been working on a new card I heard.
Hoever, newegg does have class 4 cards in 32 gb for around 100 bucks.
Hope this helps.
UPDATE
there is a class 6 32 gig card I found at amazon but it is a "Komputerbay" brand so buyer beware.

Hello. On ebay 32 gb class 10 is maximum 50 dollars, 16 gb is max 27 dollars. But i dont trust if they are real or fake. You know, they make Samsung's, sandisks fake and no clue to understand if it is like that.
So, where is best to buy, cheap and safe? Amazon, ebay?
And what brand, kingston Samsung, Sandisk?

If I am not mistaken, that is a standard SDHC, and not the micro SDHC that our phones require.

There are a couple of off-brand class 6 cards that have shown up on ebay and Amazon called TopRam and 3C Pro. Anyone have experience with these?
I am familiar with the usual suspects (i.e. Sandisk, Kingston, Patriot, A-Data, etc). but was wondering if there have been any positive reviews with the ones above since then do tend to run substantially cheaper.

If you're lucky to have Micro Center stores in your area, their house brand 16GB microSD card is not bad at all. For $34, you get a card marked as class 2. But I've tested mine on my PC and its write speed is around 7 MB/s and read speed is around 14 MB/s, practically a class 6 card! No wonder this card always seems to be out of stock quick.

I tried my luck with a TopRam 16 GB class 4, and I have transferred a little over 8 gb of files onto it and use it daily with no complaints.
I purchased mine on Buy.com because it was a little cheaper there a few months ago when I ordered it.

Question about micro sd 32gb

Why is the kingston like half the price of the sandisk aren't they both top brands? Also will class 4 be able to function properly?
Guess i'll remove the links caues of the rules but at amazon the sandisk 32gb class 4 is List Price CDN$ 131.76 and at other various sites the kingston 32gb class 4 is around $55-70.
I am currently using verified-genuine 32gb Kingston class 4. No problem so far. Transfer rate about 5.6 to 6.1 mb/s. Taken Full Hd video. No jerk or whatsoever.
But be careful of fake Kingston. Best thing to do is before you buy, verify the card serial no at Kingston website in front of the vendor.

If they are that reliable, then u should go ahead and order. A class 4 will always be a class 4, no more or less in performance, if it's genuine.
If u want to get a sandisk class 4, u can actually top up a little bit and go for a class 10

Because that Sandisk Class 4 is overpriced.
For an equivalent of CDN$100, I can get a Lexar Class 10 32GB MicroSD. Great in sequential speeds but **** in random writes. Still, it is just to prove a point that the Sandisk that you are looking at is overpriced. Over here, the Sandisk Class 4 sells for 30-40% cheaper than the Lexar Class 10!

How then? Is it worth buying?
If you do a search, the stated 30mb/s, is only obtained if you use a compatible sd reader, so far there is only about 10-15 readers on the market that will full ultilize the UHS 1 specifications, and the fastest one being from kingston and sandisk themselves.
Some cameras also supports UHS 1 to take advantage of the speed.
the figures are off my head, it was done a few months ago, and I have tested over 15-20 different sd cards, i will correct them later on if they are different.
using the kingston reader.
Sandisk
UHS 1
read 38mb/s
write 7mb/s
non UHS 1
read 18mb/s
write 7mb/s
other UHS 1 microsdhc available:
toshiba
UHS 1
read 41mb/s
write 20mb/s
non UHS 1
read 21mb/s
write 15.2mb/s
kingsmax
dont have ATM
adata (rebadged of the sandisk)
dont have ATM
I am using SanDisk Mobile Ultra 16GB, beforeit I used TDK class10 16GB
The write speed in Windows I feel that it's lower than TDK 16GB
but the quality of card I think that is better than TDK absolutely!
sandisk cards are much more stable, and the speed is stable too, while other brands the speed flutuates alot.
The Samsung micro SDHC cheaper then Sandisk and very good.

Suggested Memory Card

Hey there, I've been using my Galaxy S2 for several months and never got to buying a memory card for it.
What you guys think is the best of the best?
How much GB?
Which manufacturer?
Model No?
What to look for when purchasing one on ebay?
Thanks!
just got a adata 32gb class 10, had a sandisk 32gb class 4 but its worth having a class 10 in it.
the R&W speeds when transfering data to pc is alot better and when taking pictures.
read 19.6mbs / write 13.2mbs with sdtools, had the same brand sd card before and was happy about the performance.
always use H2testw v1.4 just to be sure,it was the cheapest brand for its class locally.
