[Kernel] Overlock 1.65ghz - Froyo Stock Sense Only - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Source: (bwahahha no github)

froyo only
Kernel:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8699733/vivow/vivow.1.65.zip
Only changes are to acpulock-7x30.c , no additional credits/copyrights were in the header of the one I worked off of. If you had a hand it it, let me know so we both can fix that.

Since this isnt even available for everybody yet, is it stable at 1.65ghz?

I've tested it. Stable for me, and battery is still pretty damn good with it.

I've tried to flash this kernel on 2 different sens roms and got a bootloop on both am i doing something wrong, i tried it on the [ROM] Incredible 2 / HTC s710d 2.3.3 ROM based on Incredible S - Beta2 and RMK Gingerbread Sense r1 :: 2.18.605.3 (Rooted/Deodexed/Debloated). Am i doing something wrong??

Sorry for my bad english

Drob box links never work for me idk why... Will this kernel give me anything close to the quadrant score I revived with CM7? It was over 2k I just can't stand not having my sense UI

You will be able to get higher than 2000 with this kernal easily. The thing is though, I don't think you can flash back to froyo after going to GB, or atleast I can't.

this is for GB? Wish it would of stated it in the op. Where can I find a Oc kernel for froyo with this kind of potential?

No this is for the stock Froyo rom. The thing is, in my case at least, I cannot go back to froyo after flashing CM7.

I didn't back up the stock rom. If it messes up just remove the battery, go into recovery, flash back to what you were using before.

New update kernel

With the new update for the evo can I now use that kernel on other roms that run 2.3 with sense 2.1 and will it fix the brightness issue?

Depends on the rom! Just from my experience the version MIK tweaked from the MikG v1.0 - Re-Engineered GB Sense 2.1 + 3.0
[Kernel] - 2.6.35.10-htc-kernal_and18-2 - from the OTA:" worked for me on misfits and of course miks rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038967
It is in his OP thread.
I am running Gengersense B4, and I spent today updating to all of the new radios. The last thing I did was find the kernel included in yesterday's Gingerbread OTA, and of course, my Wifi now says "error".
The brightness problem with the leaked GB kernel is fixed, but my wifi no longer works. Anyone else with this problem?
I'm using Sac's Kingdom Rom V4 and the new kernel fixed my brightness issue (also made everything run much smoother).
Ya I updated all that crap and then my phone wouldn't sleep. Sometimes don't fix it if it ain't broke. I will probably try it again though.

Did you update to the 2.15 PRI? I know the 1.90 was quirky with newer baseband versions and was causing wakelock. I went with 2.15 today and also update the radio to 05.02, and I'm not getting any wakelock.

Is your wifi working? I'm frustrated because I finally got this rom fixed up for everyday use, the new radios were working great, and my LAST task to update the kernel fixed the brightness, but made my wifi crap out.
There are 2 kernels out one for the stock ota update and one modified for all other ROMs make sure you have the right one .
Here is a link .

But I think you could find it in that link a few posts up from the mikg ROM.

I can't say for certain that these will work with the stock ROM, but they are your best bet.
UnityV4
Virtuous Sense a7
Have you conisidered try a custom ROM? if you want to keep it as stock as possible I recommended Virtuous Sense 2.0
Try unity v4 kernel, its for all sense based runs. Let's you OC up to 1.7 ghz. Link is in my signature.

It is sense 2.1, it is based off the official 2.3.3 DZ update, think of it as what you have all ready but with optimizations.
Oh and welcome to the DZ forums.

I suppose its possible HTC included ext4 support in this kernel but we won't know until either someone tries or we get the source.
Ill be up to try to see if the kernel is EXT4 capable.
Will post results later on or tomorrow.
Edit: EXT4 is not supported in this kernel.

I don't think there is an RUU out for this OTA. the last actual RUU I could find for this phone is "2.18.605.4"
I also have a full rom .zip of "4.08.605.3" saved. both way behind.

I'm not at my computer otherwise I would provide the link but search the incredible s forums for incredible s shipped roms. The post is by football and the op contains the link to a file sharing service (can't recall which one off the top of my head). The listed files near the bottom has the link for the HTC signed ruu. From that file (its an exe) you can pull the Rom.zip file. If you can't find it let me know and I will paste the link when I can get to my computer.

Well you can "try" and flash the kernel I am using I suppose... but as far as I know it will break your camera and probably some other stuff I don't know. Do a nandbackup just in case you want to be adventurous. You only wanna find out if Sky would work if you change kernels first right?

Yes that's right, it has to be a stock kernel as sky do a check on the kernel before the stream loads apparently.
Well if it's stock kernel that it requires, then you have to use the official Sense based rom and kernel. All sense roms here uses a custom kernel so you are out of luck. You can't use Sense kernel on AOSP roms anyway.
OK cheers
I will have to wait for techy people to hack the sky go app then.
Depending on how Sky works, you can try and flash one those sense based roms. Who knows, the custom kernel they have might work. I have the impression that they are all based on the original sense kernel anyway. Or just wait for someone to hack the app.

Just curious, why are you on such an outdated version of MIUI?
Cause everything works..and ICS builds still have some question marks...small ones but there still there and i use my phone for business so everything has to work.
I tried a new kernel and the stock one is better so....
Everything works in 2.3.2, also...
Which is 2 months past the one you're using
2.3 didn't work on my evo...12.9 was the smoothest for me...every evo is different

You can flash the rom over itself without wiping data and you'll be back to the stock kernel.

Yea well once i find a good stable rom i dont update really unless it has a new feature i want.
Back when i was on myns warm 2.2. I was on RLS3 and it was awesome..smooth,great battery. So i didnt update to RLS5 for bout 3 months after it was released. But i gave in for the notification bar quick settings. But RLS5 never gave me as good battery life as RLS3.
So once i find a good rom/kernel combo. I stick with it.
