SDK Emulator - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there away to replicate the EC05 build in emulator and flash custom themes overtop it? LOL Just curious, seeing as I no longer have an Epic, it's somewhat hard to test future content.

I've been curious to see if something like this was made, the iphone/ipod have something similar ...

So is there a way you can use QEMU to boot up and run a ROM designed for the Epic? Interesting to say the least...

1 download ODIN
2 download a pre-rooted ec05 tar
3 make sure samsung drivers are installed on your pc
4 put the phone in download mode by turning off the phone and holding 1 on the qwerty keyboard while turning on
5 in ODIN select the tar by clicking the phone button
6 in odin only auto-reboot should be checked
7 click start
8 wait for it to finish

What is with the rash of wrong section posting lately...
if you have enough posts to post in development, you have been here long enough to know this goes in q&a, and to know to look at some stickies or something first.. i know the search sucks, but come on...
I just flashed an EC05 ROM over the GB ROM; I don't use Odin unless I have to.
As long as your EXT4 its no issue.
you can use eh17 modem on ec05- if that is what is being asked. the gb leaks have too many issues (FC) for some people to use on their daily phones.
Mod edit: Profane language not needed...

I've posted in the wrong section once -- not because I was oblivious to which sections to post things, but because I genuinely believed that was the correct location to post to. In such a situation, one should be apologetic rather than defensive. I think it borders on ungratefulness for someone with 120 posts (and therefore probably knows what chris has done for the scene) to call him an @hole.

Cool. I will check out the videos. But thus far GB seems unstable and laggy.

Modems

I am currently running the EL26 modem, it works ok. Is there any better modems out there? was looking at the EI22. Not sure I can make the switch. Any help is appreciated.
I am happy to be a new part to this forum..
Thanks
Odin to the ec05 modem and then flash the ei22 modem.

Is this a better modem than the El26? I have tried EL29 it was even slower.
Thanks for the quick reply.

you sure you are in the right forum? this is an epic 4g forum EL26/EL29 is for the E4GT
Wrong section. Dont flash EI22/EC05/anything for the original Epic. You have an ET4G.
Herp.
Better check the forum you are in vs. the phone you has!!!
EL* is not for the Epic 4G, but rather the Epic 4G touch (at least that's what I'm being told)...
=]

what set up you think is the best to increase data speeds?

I know data speeds depends on your carrier but what set up of ROM, modem, radio, or anything you think is the best to increase my crappy speeds. Here is an example of my set up and my speeds.
Thanks
Mario
My guesses that it depends on:
How your device, specifically, interacts with the currently used modem;
Your CPU settings, if you changed them from stock;
Your proximity to the tower;
Your signal (dBm) strength;
The strain on the tower/network at the time; and,
Removing the Sprint proxy couldn't hurt either.
I would imagine that undervolting and underclocking your device would be counter-productive in this case, but that's just an assumption.
Your question is borderline the same as all the other: "What's the best [ROM/kernel/CPU settings/setup]?" Each phone performs differently to kernels. modems & custom ROMs. So why don't you try a few and see what best fits your device based on your desired outcome.

Find the 3G Turbocharger RC 2 find script manager and find where that .txt was saved.
Make sure you run as root which is the su icon make sure that's green and then run it. Number 5 is what I use but test em all via speedtest.net mobile and make sure you run a test first then do the script then reboot and test each one. Make sure to reboot after each time you choose one
