[ROM+Kernel] Inferior Human Organs unofficial CM7.1 - Optimus V Android Development

Inferior Human Organs unofficial CM7.2
IHO unofficial CyanogenMod is a port of the CyanogenMod ROM to the Optimus V and S (hopefully the C, M, U, and Vortex will follow).
In the interest of brevity I've moved the pertinent details to a Github wiki. Check out the freshly minted wiki here. This is the only thread which I monitor on a regular basis. Because there has been a proliferation of different ROMs based on IHO, I've stopped updating this post and moved that information to the wiki as well. This way the ROM authors can update the page themselves as they issue new builds. The latest versions of ROMs for the S and V are listed here on Github.
I would like to thank the following people for building ROMs and offering their support to end users so I can continue development:
ath3nos, BobZhome, drewwalton19216801, JerryScript, KemikalElite, Mrg666, and Pbailey212.
Without these guys I suspect most of you would be looking at a pile of source, unsure what to do with it.
And a special thank you goes to Centinel/1cewolf for taking on the daunting task of cleaning up the wiki so that it's more accessible to end users. While the wiki is currently able to be modified by any user with a Github account, I'd like to ask that anyone proposing significant changes coordinate with him.
I also would like to thank the following users for offering financial assistance:
JerryScript, punkmaxx, MarMed10, Centinel, mustafu, crpeck, El Schisne, BobZhome, takehull, rb64, yogi4, mrg666, asadullah, szfinland, Ostrich Egg, wilberfan, Whyzor, ejlmd, LarryCL, Centinel, nemo3, and pandacookie.
Without these guys I'd be sober and bored.
If you'd like to help out financially or see your name on that list please consider donating. If you do want to see your name on that list please make sure to mention in the comments field of your donation what your screenname is. Otherwise if you'd like to claim the donation PM me the billing zipcode and dollar amount of the donation.

I'm officially excited for this. Thanks for the long hours you're putting in to this project.

Blarfie - For creating the IHO repository, and fixing most of the bugs with CM7 OV ports
AOSP - The Android Open Source Project for creating the offical Android source
CyanogenMod - The entire team for all their hard work creating the best Android Mod available
KermikalElite - For helping me set up my build environment and compiling this ROM
Special thanks to ath3nos - for getting the ball rolling on the S, zefie - for his original work on CM7 port for the OS, mik_os - because he started it all, and many others who I may have left out! Thanks to Danny Baumann for fixing the custom ringtones! Huge thanks to Tom Marshall aka tdm for fixing the long suffered charging-while-powered-off bug!
STANDARD WARNING-- Flashing any custom ROM may semi-brick your phone!
Follow the installation instructions to the letter!
Always backup your apps, and do a backup in recovery before flashing!
This is a WIP (work in progress)!
This is the Optimus V build of the inferiorhumanorgans repository which is forked off the CyanogneMod7 source tree, the same as ath3nos, but built for the Optimus V and not the Optimus S. No S-to-V script necessary. There is also an optional Green Machine theme built in UOT Kitchen for those who are interested, or you can theme your own if you like.
KermikalElite was the first to build for the Optimus V from the IHO source, and you can find his latest buiilds, and other users builds, in Blarf's OP.

Known Bugs
Fixed 07212011 USB Mass Storage is not working, you will have to use ADB or put your sdcard in another device for file transfers
(Blarfie is working on it, Windows USB drivers can be a nightmare)
Fixed 07302011 Custom ringtone settings are not followed, default ringtone rings instead
Fixed 07302011 Camera sometimes places artifacts on the edge of images when zoomed at some levels.
(The problem is known, expect a fix, but other things have a higher priority right now)
Voice Dialer button is not mapped, use Button Remapper and set it as you like.
Fixed 10172011Headset button doesn't work. Fixed 10172011, thanks rcmarotz (original thread here)
Fixed 07272011Android Market web interface doesn't allow automatic installs, says country is not supported. Fixed, see this post
Fixed 07212011 Screenshot app from the power button menu saves the images inverted 180 degrees, you can fix them with any photo editing app/prog, I just let photobucket take care of these screenshots.
Screenshots with Green Machine Theme installed over the build
In order to keep this as close to CyanogenMod7 source, I have left all the extras in there, which makes for a large install. You can use a bloat removing script such as mmarz's, or manually delete ringtones, wallpapers, etc as you like. If there is enough interest, I will post a slimed down version with most of the bloat removed.

Booting......
Nice, i see that the hardware keyboard issue was worked out i was able to summon the keyboard with a long press of the menu button haven't seen that in a while.
EDIT: Initial setup seems to be going very smoothly from a clean wipe install.
Posted any bugs on github as well.
Basic Functionality
EDIT: always enjoy testing new builds... All the basics seemed to work fine on a clean install, WIFI, data, market downloads, gingerbread backup service, SU, etc.
EDIT: Screenshot app in power menu saves images with 180 degree rotation so they display upside down.
data2ext
EDIT: Restored /data and /sd-ext rolled over from aospmod and ath3nos builds and seems to integrate fine except that i was not able to get the data2ext mod to work correctly. It would enable the mod but it still read as not being active when checked in terminal. I'm gonna try to get it to work with no restore and an empty /data and /sd-ext
EDIT: Could not get a data2ext MOD for ext2 to work correctly, any suggestions? maybe i'm not using the best mod for the job. anyway other than that all seems well. Nice job Guys.
EDIT: Apparently ext 2/3/4 support was not included so that renders this mod unusable the ext2fs modules were not included in this package.
Performance
EDIT: as for general performance overclocking seems to work fine all the way up to 480/864Mhz and i really like that the smooth scrolling issue that has plagued other CM7 ROMs is not in this release. The browser scrolling, menu scrolling and swipe physics seems smoother than ever before.
Browser
In browser use i noted that the new feature incorporated by Google on the homepage that allows you to swipe down on the tabs at the top to reveal icons of the main services (images, gmail, news, etc..) does not seem to be functioning it almost slides down but wont ever pull down completely. (Although it is still available by pressing "more>>")
Really happy to have smooth scrolling back in browser, can't iterate that enough. I use stock browser quite a lot.

So any reason to install this over ath3nos latest build?

This looks like it could be interesting, wich one to keep. But can you flash this rom with xoinia cwma 12518.4 recovery or what. Looks good from pics. How is the performance and is it qiuck or not.

Wow this Rom is awesome its really stable and smooth almost as much as bumblebee I think

The stock music player shows the artist names for me, perhaps I don't understand the difference you're referring to? I would suggest you try the media scanner in the Dev Tools app that's included.
I noticed the screenshot inversion bug when I was posting the screenshots, forgot to mention that, shouldn't be too hard of a fix, but Blarfie is pretty busy with his new kernel, and I'm still new to this, check back in a few days.
I haven't ever used data2ext, apps2sd was enough for me before, but I will check into it since I know alot of users like it.
Thanks for the feedback!

Ya this rom is really smooth and stable. Like the transparent status bar and seperate pic for lockscreen. Way better, this is a keeper to. Im sold love it, green machine .zip is awesome.

I deleted this post.

thanks blarfie i'll add the modules and re-test data2ext support

thanks blarf for everything you do for the optimus. Was over here and saw this thread. Decided I'd say hey from AC and myself. Good to see great people doing great things. Great work again! Love this port on my phone! Keep it up!!

How do you get a transparent status bar on this?

Noticed that too when I first posted screenshots it's in my ROM post listed under bugs. Not a huge priority to fix at the moment, want to get data2ext support going tonite. It's on the todo list though.

I could not get data2ext support to run in any capacity ext2 or ext4 even with the new modules. I always recieved the message:"Data2EXT is already enabled but not active..." when trying to use the MOD.
not sure where to go from here but just thought i would give an update. maybe i'm doing something wrong....
I was gonna post a logcat on pastebin but I get an endless string of these from ddms in a linux enviroment:

That's not you. It's an odd configuration with CM. By default they look for kernel modules on the root filesystem... which is great... unless you want to make it easy for people to upgrade or otherwise change the included modules. I'll probably just bite the bullet and include ext2 in the kernel which will solve this problem.

I believe this is fixed in today's build. If not it's a mismatch between the kernel AMI304D driver and the ami304d. I'm using the Sprint driver, and I /think/ the Sprint binary, but there were a few points in time where this got out of sync.
Code:
MD5 (ami304d) = 0b793d165d2d2448617fd07c67d84be8
If that's not the md5sum for your /system/bin/ami304d, grab it from GitHub and replace it or install a newer version of the ROM.

Please also take also read the general comments and change log while you are downloading.
From my experience a full wipe is required when upgrading from previous versions to ensure full stability. But you can always try without it, and only if you have problems then do a full wipe (data, cache and ext partition)....
Themes (for Floyo 1.2.0)
Built-in status bar themes
You can change the theme of the status bar, in the CyanogenMod Settings, under User Interface, Tweak Extras, Select a theme:
Sense status bar
After installing the update, you need to go into the CyanogenMod Settings, under User Interface, Tweak Extras, and select a theme STOCK_Sense.
Download Sense status bar (mediafire)
CM Untouched Theme (fixed on 15/12/2010)
After installing the update, you may need to go into the CyanogenMod Settings, under User Interface, Tweak Extras and select Reset UI tweaks.
Download CM untouched Theme (mediafire)
Floyo Original Theme
If you flashed one of the above themes, and want to go back to the original theme:
Download Floyo Original Theme (mediafire)
After installing the update, you may need to go into the CyanogenMod Settings, under User Interface, Tweak Extras and select Reset UI tweaks.
BRijpstra's excellent blueMAGNUM Theme
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=806627
Thats it for now.
Themes for other ROMs or previous version will not work or make trouble.
If you develop a theme for Floyo, let me know and I'll add it.
If you are an experienced on the graphical side of theming, and are interested, I would be happy to help to compile a theme for Floyo (contact me by PM).
Optional Updates
* Full Google Apps
The ROM only includes the most basic google apps. The Car Home, ChromeToPhone, Google voice, etc. missing apps can be installed with the following update:
Full Google Apps - based on 2010-09-30 update - Desean (mediafire)
* GPS config:
Europe (default)
US
Asia
The default config is Europe. These update change the NTP_SERVER server in the gps.conf accordingly.
Flashing the one appropriate to your continent can help the lock speed.
* Replace System Launcher 1.1 (mediafire)
Floyo comes with the ADW Launcher by default.
If you wish you can install a different launcher, i.e. Launcher Pro and use the above update after you have installed the new launcher to your "internal memory". The update will remove your current launcher (ADW) from the system partition and move the launcher from "internal memory" (Launcher Pro) to the system partition (to make sure your phone is usable even without the SD card).
ReplaceSystemLauncher-1.1 supports LauncherPro, Zeam, Home++ and ADW.
If you want to restore the ADW which came with Floyo 1.2.0, here it is:
ADW 1.2.0 (Floyo theme)
ADW 1.2.0 (CM untouched theme)
* Ubuntu Fonts (mediafire)
* Original CM6.1 Fonts (mediafire)
* App2SD and Compcache for official CM (Floyo already includes it)
This is a rewrite of the apps2sd, more in the lines with the infrastructure that already comes with the CM sources. I hope this rewrite will improve its stability. This is the version included with Floyo 1.2.0. It is intended to be installed on the "official" CM releases which do not have app2sd built-in.
It will use the ext partition (if such exists) for all apps which do not support the new floyo app2sd method (see more details on the second post of this thread).
Finally, regarding compcache, this will make the compcache option in the CM settings work (if you have a compatible kernel like flykernel-12pre2). I doubt that the compcache, will help CM - in fact I would guess quite the opposite and hence I do not recommend it. But who knows, let me know if you find differently.
Thank You!
- Floomat for the everything! Boot animation and much of the icons and themed stuff in the ROM is thanks to him.
- Wayferer for the theming and icons!
- Moonshield for the thorough testing.
- Desean for the hosting
- CyanogenMod for their excellent work (99% of this ROM is theirs)
And thanks to everyone that reports bugs and further ideas to improve this ROM.
Donations are always welcome and accepted but are in no way required.
General comments and change log
(troubleshooting section is in this post below the "Instructions and comments")
Experimental version:
Floyo 1.4pre1 ROM (Android RTK)
Floyo 1.4pre1 ROM (Desean)
I suggest you also flash the following fixes on top of it:
Floyo 1.4pre1 MapFix (Android RTK) - Fixes crashes in some GPS tracking apps (I hope)
I assume a full wipe is needed, even when coming from 1.2.0, but you can also try without it and see what happens.
This is a major upgrade from the 1.2.0 version, with the following updates:
- Based on the latest sources for CM6 (6.2.0+)
- Backported some stuff from Gingerbread/CM7 like: new LatinIME keyboard, new ADWLaucher, overscroll glow, CMParts CPU Settings
- Latest Arabic and Hebrew support (backported latest fixes from CM7)
- Theme retouched taking some icons from Gingerbread
- Updated google apps
- OpenGL 1.1
- Fully ODEXed with dalvik2cache in addition to the regular app2sd for maximum performance
- Tweaked low memory values and added further tweaking of SD card
- Added CMParts settings to change scheduler latency (works only on FlyKernel). Read more about this here.
Latest Changes
Floyo 1.2.0
- Updated sources to CM 6.1 release
- Apps2sd rewritten for better stability
- Compcache support added (but not recommend)
- Themes rebuilt, hopefully more stable this time
- FlyKernel-12-pre2
Instructions and comments
* Upgrading from another CM6-based ROM - even 1.1.8 (sorry):
To ensure 100% that there are no problem you must do a FULL wipe.
You can try installing the new version over your old CM6 based ROM, but if you have problems please do a clean install before reporting them.
* Mobile data is disabled by default - enable it if necessary under wireless settings, mobile networks.
* This ROM included both the "old" app2sd and the new froyo native app2sd.
The froyo native app2sd means that apps which support it will be installed to the main partition of the SD card (under .android_secure). Currently very few apps support it. You can move apps manually to the SD, but it is not recommend as this can cause problems, especially with programs with widgets and such.
The "old" app2sd means that if you have an ext partition on your SD card, it will automatically be used for the apps that do not support the froyo app2sd.
* This ROM uses FlyKernel-12pre2.
By default the ROM will boot at 576/352 (no OC). You can use SetCPU to change the speed.
When I release FlyKernel-12 (final), which hopefully should not be far, the FlyKernel page will include different packages of the kernel which can boot at different speeds (like the 11c kernel currently has).
Notice that with FlyKernel 11's smartass governor you don't need a sleep profile any more : - same thing with FlyKernel 12)
* JIT is by default on. You can disable in the CyanogenMod settings menu, but no reason to do so, really.
* If you have problems with MMS, please check your MMS settings and make sure they are correct.
Troubleshooting
*) Most problems people report, are fine for most, and the problem is "specific" only to "you". In order to help isolate the root of such problems (i.e. some app you installed but others did not), I propose the following "fail safe" way:
(if according to your common sense you think you can cut some corners and aren't following my instructions to the letter, thats perfectly fine just detail in your report exactly what you did do to isolate the problem!)
a) If necessary, make a nandroid backup (nand+ext) of the current state of your ROM. This way you have nothing to loose, you can always go back to your current state.
b) From RA recovery 1.7.0.1, do a full wipe (both the "data/factory reset" and the "SD:ext partition" from the wipe menu). I assume that previous versions of RA recovery might also work, but highly suggest you upgrade to 1.7.0.1. About clockworks recovery, I have not tested and do not know if it is fully compatible with this process.
c) Install only the basic ROM update (Floyo-1.2.0.zip), and, if necessary, install only the updates and apps you must in order to recreate the problem.
d) Check if the problem still occurs. If the problem persists, please report it with as much details as possible.
If it is solved, continue to install/configure the ROM to your liking and follow if and when the problem returns.
e) If you wish, you can now go back to the nandroid backup you prepared in the first step.
*) When reporting an issue, please detail as much as possible. The level of detail should ideally be such, that if I decide to devout time to this, I will be able to recreate the problem on my device.
*) When reporting battery life, please try to test it for at least a couple of days and report what settings you are using (kernel, governor, speeds, etc.), what and approximately how much you use the phone and the battery life you are getting.
*) If you are getting FCs(force close messages that kill apps when they shouldn't die), please attach a logcat to your post. In order to generate the logcat with adb, use a command such as this:
Code:
adb logcat > logcat.txt
You should close the adb window after you recreate the problem.
Another option to get the logcat, is to use a program from the market but I am unfamiliar with this.
* If you are stuck in a bootloop, please include the logcat from the beginning of your boot, by running the above adb command ("adb logcat > logcat.txt") from either before you turn on your phone or relatively close to the start of the boot.
* If you have spontaneous reboots of the phone, please attach the last_kmsg, which you can get with a command such as:
Code:
adb pull /proc/last_kmsg

Source and CM development (Updated for Floyo 1.2.0)
This ROM is completely open source. It is based on the sources of CyanogenMod with a few repositories which I have forked (Frameworks base and policy, htc hero device, cyanogen vendor, CMParts and Gallery3D). The updated sources to my forked repositories are mainted in my github. The kernel sources are also in my github.
General Froyo building
Building CM from the sources is described very nicely here:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Compile_CyanogenMod_for_Hero
I suggest you start with this (or even with a pure ASOP build from the google sources as described here).
CM itself is an easy and convenient platform to develop on. Additionally they have implemented the gerrit review system which can be used to suggest changes back to the CM mainstream - read more here.
If you are serious about "CM development", I would consider starting with the clean CM repositories (many of my changes are a matter of personal taste). You can still take a look at my Floyo sources and build process (described below) to help you get started.
Building Floyo
If you want to build the ROM with my (personal) tweaks, you need to use the changes in my forked repositories.
One simple of way, of doing that is replacing the .repo/manifests/default.xml file with the attached manifest.xml file and then doing "repo sync" (or "repo sync -j 8" which is faster ).
Finally you will also need the proprietary files, some are the google apps which are updated all the time and some are specific to our hero (and will prolly not change at all). To make it easier for you here are the proprietary files I used to build Floyo: floyo120-vendor-proprietary.tar.bz2.
Assuming you have already done the initial configuration (installed all required packages for the build environment and etc.), the steps to download my sources and build them should be something like this:
* Init CM repo:
Code:
repo init -u git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b froyo
* Replace the .repo/manifests/default.xml file with the attached manifest.xml file. I suggest you also commit it, because I have had occasional errors if it's has uncommitted changes:
Code:
cd .repo/manifests/
git commit -am "use floyo repositories"
* Download source (will take a while):
Code:
repo sync -j 8
* Extract the floyo120-vendor-proprietary.tar.bz2 (in root directory).
* Select Hero build:
Code:
source build/envsetup.sh
lunch cyanogen_hero-eng
* Build update package:
Code:
make -j4 bacon
Let me know if you have any trouble.
Feel free to contact me if you need any help. I will try to help anyone interested in developing on the CM sources (with my tweaks or directly) as best my free time will allow.

hmm, trying to change the status bar to white after I worked so hard to make it black.... How are you trying to change the notification bar to white?
I will see when I have time if I can prepare you a theme file which undos the changes and restores the original CM look (white status bar).
Music
Does playing Music while surfing on the internet causes a lag (sometime, unusable) like almost all the other 2.2 ROMs?
Just wanna know, as this routine is something I need in my everyday life. lol
Downloading it now..
Nice erasmux! Wil try this rom later this morning, coming from latest Rcmix..
I am happy that you finally are working on Froyo

wow, good news that you released a 2.2 ROM
there is a nightly CM made on 2010-Sep-17 01:01:41
are your sources older/newer?
Very nice 2.2 ROM.
After using FroydVillain 1.5 (my favourite 2.2 so far) I must admit that your ROM performs on my system even better: fast, smooth, an all is working so far.
I'll keep it definitely.
And I like the black notification bar.
Wonderful, many thanks to you, erasmux.

Looks cool might try it iut
Thanks buddy a wait your feedback
I want work on cdma now....
Post on Rootzwiki please plenty of testers there
I'm digging it....very nice work, lots of options to play with, only addition for me would be to change the color of the soft touch keys. Other than that very fast and stable thus far
I was browsing GSM forums the other day. I seen this rom and I'm like "damn why can't we have this rom"..... and now we do I will be testing this out no doubt
Thanks all i wait your feedback
I like it too. Nice toggles lol
Hey I tried this rom and sorry but its not working right. It installed and everything. But on the start up screen, it tells me to pick a language and tells me to hold on while my phone is being activated and when its finished and I hit next, it force closes the setup wizard and brings me back to the select a language screen and it just force closes everytime I try to get past the "activation finished" screen. I did the trick to get past the activation screen and I got to the actual rom and its really sweet. I love the animated pull down. I went into accounts to setup my gmail but gmail wasn't in the options of accounts. Gmail app was on the phone but when i clicked on it, force close. I flashed a G apps zip file that I had on my internal memory but same issues. Trust me, no rom I tried so far had me liking it from the start. I hope you can look into this soon and fix it quick :/
Any others users experienced this?
And yea I did a full wipe and everything

AMAZING
IMO THIS ROM ROCKS! Next to Gummy 0.6.6 - theya re by far the two best on the forums. Hopefully KANG CM9 Project will take off - IMO CM9 for the daily driver once the bugged are worked out.
VERY NICE ROM - HAS EVERYTHING THE OTHERS ARE MISSING.
Please continue porting this to CDMA.
Did you get your Gmail account to sync?

Try downloading the rom file again and flash it again, wipe everything and see what happens, iv had it happen in the past but not with this one. It work flawlessly
Thanks I've gotten it to work. On Rootzwiki it was happening to everyone and someone said to flash the aokp gapps or Gummy gapps and everything worked fine after that so anyone who has that issue should do that.

Cool....that was actually my next question...and if u were using rom manager to wipe n flash but you got it, hope u like it I know I do
Yea its a pretty sweet rom. Im really liking it. Every time I tried a new rom I'd always end up going back to aokp but I don't know if that's the case this time lol
Hey if you don't mind a little feedback......maybe wanna make it for us to be able to move around the navigation buttons. Like to switch them around. I'm not used to the search button being the first button on the navigation bar. Also it might just be me but when when you enable the search button, the search button seems to be a little more spaced out from the rest. And one last little input, maybe make it so we can have the navigation bar any color we want. A lot of roms have this and I kinda got used to it lol but yea other than the two small features this rom is awesome lol
Is this something new for this rom or did I never notice but the 5 apps set right below the line on bottom, you can scroll left and right for more pages? Think that makes sense?
Thanks all for feedback....today fix a setupwizard bug

Its Nova Launcher. You can set it on/off, put up to 7 icons on the dock, put infinite scroll for the dock, put a number of docks (I forgot the number of docks it will let you scroll by), and other options. Nova launcher is a pretty sweet launcher

PARANOIDANDROID ICS HD2
This rom is based on the great work of team paranoidandroid
and the unoffical CyanogenMod 9 Nightlies from cmhtcleo team so all credits and thanks to them in the first place !
This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone.
For more information about PARANOIDANDROID please check this website
Features :
P.A.L., First time in Android history that Per-App-Layout has been realized
This rom features a setting called Per-App-Density. You can define an apps native DPI with it, make it look stock, smaller or bigger than that, your decision.
All apps are depicted at DPI 182 per standard. No other rom has that feature right now
Google Play does not allow density changes and will stop working if you mess around with that. This rom fixes that problem for you 100%.
More stuff: Recents window closer to stock, fixes for overlapping elements, framework fixes, no crashes, working Phone (looks 100% like stock aswell), etc.
Included A2SD (see 2nd post for more info)
Download for Magldr/cLK : (Clean install always recommended !)
paranoidandroid_hd2_v1.5b.zip (flash via recovery)
md5 : bd119d6af08b9f684205322f9c4cfc4f
SD ROM users can check out the Nand port of wis1152
MODS :
Check out the MOD thread by gogodu5sU for some great MOD stuff..
Check this thread by shayne77 for some cool battery mods and read the instructions on how to apply them ! (these will probably work on any CM9 rom for the ones interested)

FAQ For PARANOIDANDROID :
Configuration: Select from a list of presets a desired configuration. Reqires reboot
Default Mode: Is used by default on any non-defined app installed by user. Defines whether to start apps on phone or tablet mode. Reqires reboot
User default DPI: Is used by default on any non-defined app installed by user. Reqires reboot
Framework-res DPI: Framework DPI. Is used on lockscreen, toast, and overall all resources on the system. Reqires reboot
SystemUI DPI: System graphic interface density, can be reflected on statusbar, Recent apps, etc. This one can’t get you outside of your current mode. Reqires reboot
Some other facts:
Statusbar transparency, navbar configuration, sense recent apps, are only available on phone mode. Statusbar transparency also requires Statusbar hardware acceleration to be enabled
Don’t mess with build.prop density is completly unuseful now and can only mess your phone (making it look ugly).
It’s recommended to use all launchers on Phone mode, and highest density (240 for HDPI, or 320 for XHDPI). If DPI’s are lower that some magic values, it may cause crashes when using themes.
Disable Settings > System > Statusbar > Auto Hide Statusbar. Use toggle instead (Only needed on HDPI devices).
If you see the dock on launchers in Tablet mode, and not the old layout, this IS NORMAL, it was ugly before, and now it’s preset to phone mode at stock phone density (240 for SGS2 based ROM’s or 320 for Nexus based ROM’s). If you want to get the old ugly tablet mode for launchers, go to Settings > Paranoid Settings > Hybrid settings > List apps, select your launcher, lower density a bit and put in on tablet mode. You can also do this if you want Tablet mode launcher in Phone mode.
Don't forget to check out the HTC HD2/ParanoidAndroid FAQ (credits : Szczepanik)

Mobile data (clk)
Wow, this looks really awesome!
I just got it running on my phone after a clean install (task29, clk) and mobile data doesn't seem to work (T-Mobile US).
The APN seem to be set correctly and I do see the letter H next to the data icon in the status bar, but can't connect. Wifi works.
Anything I'm doing wrong? anyone else with a similar issue?

Ics tips and trick
All Credits for This FAQ Go to the Hawke84. all this FAQ is from Hawke84, i found some tips are working in p350 so i posted here
soo ALL Big thanks to Hawke84:good:
Ringtones dont stick on reboot
If your having problems with ringtones sticking on reboot, seems to be especially a problem for custom ringtones, create a new soundset with the ringtone in and that will sort it
Clock / Weather App only showing country and not current location
Go to Settings>Apps>All and try clearing data for Clock Widget, Google Maps, Weather, Sync provider and Weather Provider.
Finally, refresh the widget and hopefully that will solve your problem.
Google Play Download fix 1
This is for download problem, caused by drmserver not running
go to adb
Code:
adb shell
/system/bin/drmserver&
this is a temp fix. you have to do it every time you boot.
thanks to antdking for this fix
Google Play Download fix 2
1.Go Settings->Aplication->All Aplications
2.Now search Google play Store.apk and tap on them
3.Tap on "Froce close" boton, then tap on "Delete Dates" boton
4.Now install this gplay aplication who i uploaded : http://www.fileshare.ro/79426910043 (Copy to SD CARD,install it)
5.Now open Google play and accept the google licence.
thanks to r0bocop for this fix.
Wi-Fi Teather Doesnt Work
This is a work around to get the function working.
Downloaded wifi tether app from the market, and check
Wi-Fi Sleep Policy
Seems to be a bug where the Wi-Fi sleep policy settings are reversed. Selecting "Never" sets you to "Always", selecting "Always" sets you to "Never". No fix for this but something to be aware of.
Can see Gallery pics but still cant set wallpapers
1) go into gallery
2) long press the pic you want for the back ground and set it to wallpaper
Thanks to stroobach for this.
3) If that doesnt help try disabling force GPU Rendering (if you enable this )
General SD card problems
If your getting general slow SD card, issues with content on there being read, backup the importent stuff like photos etc and format SD card, seems the old android files on SD card may be messing things up
If this didnt help and your still having prolems with slow SD card speeds download sd booster from the market and set the cache to 2000+
Wallpaper FC loop
It happens when you place a 3rd party app on the bottom dock. The Wallpaper that force closing is the lock screen, if you change to the weather lockscreen that will start FCing as well.
My phone isnt booting after first flashing the new ROM
First boot does take bloody ages, if you get to like 20/30 mins pull the battery and it will boot straight away, seems to be getting stuck for some people. for most when it works its 5/10 mins for first boot..
How to force Hardware Acceleration
1) settings
2) devolp option
3) tick force GPU rendering
After going into power saving for low battery my buttons dont vibrate!
seems sometimes u have to re-enable this after the power save turns it off, annoying i know, its located in the strangest place:
1) settings
2) sound settings
3) vibrate feedback - tick it!
Reduce Lag - Force CPU1 Online
1) Install system tuner from marker
2) open system tuner
3) tweaks - cpu - boot settings - active tweaks - force all cpus online - on boot completed
4) now reboot and enjoy the faster experience
This will cause more of a battery drain, might not be a big drain though.
Some apps dont work
If your problem is some apps , try disabling force GPU acceleration, that should fix it.
Getting FC in Security Settings
If you have an exchange account that requires a Device Admin and use a pin it seems once removed, the security settings worked without a problem. Its a workaround at least.
placeholder
HOW TO SEND BUG REPORTS
Hold down VOL_DOWN + MENU keys for 2 seconds, release when vibrated.
Wait 20-30 seconds, it will vibrate again.
Send me: /sdcard/bugreports/bugreport.txt

ron i installed rom+ kernel phone boots fine into os but not much i could test cuz touch is very unresponsive, first boot took me to the screen where i was supposed to select default launcher but no matter where i pressed nothing was registering, then on next boot ring lockscreen appeared and couldnt unlock it.

OK I have successively installed this ROM and flashed the touch fix, but still with the ring-thing you can't do really anything. Also, when you click something it looks like it's stuck between two images, I can't really explain this as I can't take a screenshot.
Also, I have tried everything but I can't get ADB to work :/
Awesome, will try out this weekend.....

Q: What is Google Play Edition?
A: GPE is stock Android compiled by Samsung, it offers the stability of touchwiz with the aesthetics of pure stock AOSP. All drivers for Camera (Including HDR), Bluetooth, GPS, are official proprietary so there will be no issues.
Q: Why 4.4.4 kitkat?
A: This basically sums it up, 4.4.4 is regarded as one of the best releases ever, meanwhile 5.x is regarded as the worst.

Rebased everything I had going on in 4.4.3 into 4.4.4, this was a royal pain but it had to be done, I've smashed this project yet again with 4 straight hours of development, helps when you're organized and ready for surprises like this, No features are missing from 4.4.3 and the addons received an update too, I need a beer now. phew
06/24/2014
Autobrightness adjusted, I upped the values a bit so mostly everyone should be happy, the screen is no longer too dark but does a good job saving power too, I'll be submitting this array to CM.
Home button long press vibration and touchkey button vibration smoothed out, should give the perfect amount of haptic feedback when this option is enabled

Framework-res auto brightness values adjusted, I made the screen a bit brighter without losing much battery power, in fact you won't even notice. I just wanted to bump it up 5 values so we can show off how gorgeous this 1080p AMOLED really is
Redid contacts, I spent a great deal of time on this and I really think its a much better design then the last invert, Kryten and I talked about it but never did anything about it, I poured in a few hours the other night and came up with something I think looks gorgeous
SystemUI will now display H+ in the status bar and quicksettings as opposed to just H

--WIFI driver update

Unlocked the dialer, we now have a world phone (you will still need to sim unlock if your provider locks it, however this helps travelers)
Unlocked every network mode available for our modem, (Settings - More - Mobile networks - Preferred network)
Enabled in call noise suppression (no idea why they didn't include this)
Disabled CSP from the dialer, we now have full control over the phone and what networks we can choose (might not affect your carrier but this is useful for traveling, trust me)
Tweaked my indoor auto brightness values, still using too much juice in medium/high indoor light, this is much better
Enabled app ops in Settings > Security, Take total control of the permissions apps are granted when you install them from google play, VERY useful if you are concerned about privacy or you just don't want some misc app seeing your SMS's or having network permissions

02/08/2014

Enabled Stock Autobrightness with CM Autobrightness values (this took some research but I pulled it off without breaking ART) - This will result in massive battery savings
Gravity box should now be able to control auto brightness values
Removed Google search from system/priv-app for 2 reasons, 1) its out of date and 2) I actually prefer it as a user app, makes it easier to hibernate with greenify for non-premium users
Removed Google earth libs, hangouts and chrome libs out of the system/lib folder
the ROM is very light now, comes in at less then 300mb
Updated Gravitybox
Updated build.prop

Looks like a promising, no exaggerations ROM
Seems like a solid build. Will give it a try tomorrow after my exam. Good to see you managed to fix the front facing camera issue since that was the only bug for my M919. :good:

The reboots are not a ROM issue as much as they are a bootloader/modem issue across the ocean, no one on the north american variants are suffering from random reboots
Great rom !
Still with the New kernel in post 3 - 2 Reboots in past half hour

Dude, this is the first thread that caught my eyes.. And from reading about your Rom, looks really straight forward man. Looks promising too I'm gonna have a go at this. Tried a certain kitkat rom a couple days ago and reverted back to a simple CF-AutoRoot setup, Now this comes out. (woot woot) I'll let you guys know how things are after. Thanks Danvdh for making this happen or us all. Cheers to you
Sorry dude, hope you dont mind me asking.. Is it ok to use this on a MK9-MK3 or a MKF-MK3? Im on MK9 right now. Sorry and thanks again.
