thanks for the swift reply=) i want to freeze them too... if the arc's internal memory is big. Prob is xperia arc's internal memory is pathetic. Only 300mb=(

With most big apps movable to sd I don't have problems with that...

you can move any app to the sd with titanium backup, so let the internal memory be, only the apps that need to be available all the time, or if you need widgets to function then you need to keep that app installed in internal memory, otherwise move everything to sd, even the ones that cant be moved by default.

And before updating we have to unfreeze them and are ready to update?
Some apps are always running which starts to annoy me and don't want to lose the ability to keep root and do OTA updates.

[Q] Problem of intern memory

Hello all,
first I'm sorry for my poor english. I will do my best.
I have my Xperia Play since 1 month and I have change the SD card from 8 to 32 Go. I have many place to stock all the things and the RAM free is great. But the intern memory is less than 24 Mo when it's started.
I have install and use App to SD to do the best but there is the same problem.
How to please to have more free intern memory ? (it's a problem when I must download a think from android market and install an update for example).
Thanx.
Heads up, internal memory and RAM are the same thing in android. So I'm not really sure what you're asking since you say RAM is fine but internal memory isn't....

How can Ram and internal memory be the same thing? I have 270mb free memory but often low on ram when open too many apps
Anyways OP, you can look up on the Dalvik hack, not sure whether you need rooted phone or not..

He's talking about internal storage, not internal "memory".
Try rooting the phone and getting rid of bloatware. Also, some roms take up less space than others. I found there is more internal storage after the updates.

Because Ram and memory is the same thing! Storage or disk space has nothing to do with memory.

Guys you're arguing semantics here. The guy stated English wasn't his first language and he's quite clearly talking about internal storage, especially when he mentioned his SD card. Quit arguing about the difference between memory and storage.
Not mine either, that's why I understood exactly what he said

TS, try to use link2sd, but before you use that you need to root your device and create a partition of your sd card..

Titanium is an Android user's best friend. Especially the pro version. Freezing bloatware makes a HUGE difference in both general performance and battery life.

Thanx a lot but Titanium is not easy to configure : I must be "rooted" but I don't know how. Installing BusyBox and SuperUser don't change that.

I'm not exactly sure what the problem is and even why you're not able to uninstall, but i would suggest trying the setInstallLocation trick before you try app2sd.

This is Xperia Play forums, Revolutionary is only for HTCs
To OP:
We need more info. But I'm going to assume you want to uninstall system apps. You can't do this through the normal applications menu, you'll need an ap like Titanium Backup. For a2sd you'll need to either use the pm setInstallLocation trick or use an app like DroidSail Super a2sd from the Google Play store

[Q] About Google Play

Let's say for example, that in the future I'll upgrade to the Android 4.0. As far as I know all my info and apps will be lost (I could backup them but I am too lazy). But, will the apps I downloaded remain in my Google account so I can see on the Google Play what apps should I download again?

Only if you paid for them does it really keep track (if you go from your computer you can access the log of apps downloaded and add 'em that way. Or titanium backup pro has one click batch backup/restore...

Data on your internal memory not on your SD card will be wipe out if you upgrade your stock ROM. I just flashed a custom ROM yesterday and my apps installed on my SD card are still there, but of course I also performed a nandroid backup first and titanium backup as well. All the apps I got from Play Store (aka android market) are still showing when you click "My Android Apps" link.
Thanks for the info guys.

[Q] Low on space messaging driving me crazy

Hey
I have a few apps on my SD card and this morning at random I recieved the "low on space" Message in my notifications area
It is driving me crazy and wondering why this could be as I have 41MB free.
I am rooted with the bootloader unlocked and I have not installed any app for a few days at least.
I have the add more space mod maybe this is just eye candy rather than actual space freed up.
Other than being rooted and bootloader unlocked I have stock .62 firmware with only reboot mod and some fonts replaced etc
If it is still there tomorrow evening I will just reflash my firmware however I would rather not need to
Thanks in advance,
Jinx13

Your phone is rooted and unlocked. Theres a way to format a partition on your sd to act like a internal memory. May that helps. Google it, i have seen a guide before

You can use tb and integrate some apps into ROM.
I use root explorer to check the space in system, then use titatium backup to move apps as system apps then push to ROM.

There's a well written Link2SD article written on Xperiablog.net. I've followed that and no longer have any memory issues.

If you mean can you still use them and update them then yes.....I have flash player, gmail, maps and other apps I cant remember I pushed to Rom and they still update ok.
By doing this you get extra internal space.
don't use all system space as I got fc 's when I had 10mb left

I use Titanium Backup.
I believe there is a batch option to Restore Missing Apps, so as long as you backed them up they should be restorable. I restore my apps and data regularly when I am testing things. Just don't restore system apps/data, that generally doesn't end well.

Well, I would guess that either they didn't get backed up, or if they were then the backup file was moved so Titanium can't see it. Either of those possible?

I don't know... Or must I reinstall the apk ? It taking up my whole SD space even though I can't see the games and apps...
Titanium will reinstall the .apk if it was backed up, but if you have moved the apps to the SD card then I don't believe Titanium can back them up properly. I keep all my apps on the internal memory but I know that is not possible with some phones due to low internal memory or if you have a lot of apps. In that case you would need to move them back from the SD to the internal memory, then back them up, then move them back to the SD.
Try reinstalling the apk, maybe it will be able to relink to the SD.

I think it got wipe... But why it still taking up much space ?
If your referring to the 4gb used and 3.4gb free at the bottom of your screen shot that number is the total space used by everything on your sd card not just apps. I'm guessing you have otjerthings on.your sd card ie music, pics, rom, backups so that total refers to everything on your sd card

I would try and install a couple apps manually since you said titanium back up did not work. Reboot and see if they are there if not I would take a look at the thread I linked to in my prior post. If you don't have anything on your sd card like I mentioned and are still missing 4gb of space then you may need to format your sd card. This will erase everything on your card including partitions so back up anything of importance to your pc first.
