[MODDED APP]Launcher2 w/ SMS Shortcut instead of Browser - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Hello GUIse & Girls
I don't know about you, but I love the AOSP launcher from Android 2.3, it's sleek, compact and does exactly what it says on the tin. The only thing I have to fault about it is the fact that you cannot customise the dock to put an app of your choice there. So, I downloaded Launcher2 today and had a look in the PNG's & XML's and I saw that you can infact reroute it to show the app of your choice. So, I am introducing to you Launcher2 with the SMS Shortcut instead of the Browser. Below is a screenshot as an example, download link is also below just flash as normal via CWM. If you want anymore shortcuts adding to the dock, let me know and I'll do it. If you want to add this into your ROM. PM Me to let me know. Also, thanks to ReddV1 for giving me permission to modify and give me some tips on doing this.
THIS ONLY WORKS ON AOSP ROM's or with the AOSP SMS Installed.

Simi Clock Widget. Free app on the Market.

Nice work mate... Always liked Launcher2 but with the same thought that I'd like to change that second app...
After trying out TW I might have to give this a go!

Hi I was just wondering which message app this is trying to launch?
Every time I click on the icon it says application is not installed on your phone.
Thanks.

The icon looks like it could be ChompSMS, but I just figured that was the image used...

I will install chomp and see thanks for the advice.

Notice that NitrozK has updated the OP to show that its the AOSP SMS app that this works with...
Anyone that wishes to use this should head over to this thread:[APPS] 16 Aug: Google Stock bits for Galaxy S II ROMs where Paul has posted the AOSP SMS app along with all the others...
Note - You'll need to ADB push the app...

If I understand it correctly, that's the launcher (app drawer) from Nexus One.
would like to see 5 icons across rather than four. But not sure what else it does lol

How have you had it working, i.e. in the sense that it looks and acts like a nexus one.

We have already found that you just pull the apk from a nexus1 rom and install it onto the desire.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6002164&postcount=80
Then you goto applications and remove htcsense from being default and force close it. when you next go to the home screen it asks which one you want to use (htcsense or launcer2)
EDIT: You can also install Gallery3d from the nexus this way

But if you just install launcher2.apk from N1 it's not functioning properly -- icons are small, etc.

Maybe I had the wrong APK. Can you share the one you've used?

H0CKEY another great addition, congrats
some of the icons are pixelated, e.g chompSMS, is it possible to make them sharper?
Also, why don't you also post this in the Android Themes section? More people will post icons

You need to locate your launcher on your sdcard - I use Launcher Pro so I will locate that folder and add the .png file directly into the LauncherProDocks folder using your computer then you have to apply the settings of the new dock through your launcher settings on your phone usually menu>preferences then dock background or something like that.

Launcher Pro themes

Can someone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? I DL a droid x themed launcher pro and installed it, it installed fine but the icons haven't changed. Any ideas?
If you long press an icon you can change the shortcut, the icon, or enable a swipe gesture.
Maybe the icons were put into a specific folder? Can you find them anywhere on your phone? or does the theme install guide clearly state that icons are changed automatically?
Is is for the full version only?
Launcher Pro Themes? Where?
I know ADW.Launcher has themes, didn't know Launcher Pro did..
I've figured out how to change the launcher pro dock icons now I need to know how to change all the others?

Here's one but if you search google you'll find more

When you look at an app in the market there is usually a link to the developer's website. Maybe you could get some advice or instructions at the LP site, or from the 50 or so developers selling their themes.
When you find out, could you post back here? I want to know too.

Nevermind about the launcher pro droid x theme I figured out a better way. First install this metamorph- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=828623 -then launcher pro will already be themed. If not then I also downloaded this icon pack for droid x.- http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-x-general-discussions/74871-stock-droid-x-icon-pack.html - You can install the LP icons manually just put them in your DCIM folder. beware they take a while to show up.
google "dreamlyfe launcher pro" he charges like a dollar fifty but his dock themes are SICK

[Q] Scrollable Dock (TouchWiz)

A few days ago, I started modifying my stock launcher on my Galaxy Tab3 (GT-P5200). I've focused on the dock.
Till now I've managed to modify the launcher so far, that I can store up to 13 icons on the dock.
I also managed to remove the text from the icons. This is how my screen looks at the moment.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now I want to continue modifying the dock by making it scrollable (like the homescreen or appdrawer).
And before anyone suggests me exactly, what I do not want, I'll explain briefly what is important for me.
I don't want to use a different launcher (like Nova / AWD / Apex / or something like that).
I also do not want to use any other app, which modifies my launcher.
I simply want to modify my stock launcher (TouchWiz) by modifying the code itself
I would appreciate it if anyone could help me or at least could explain to me
where the scrolling of the homescreens is defined in the code.
.
Wonder how you get 13 icons in the dock? Wish I had that option.

Well, ... I just modified SecLauncher3.apk. But I recognized that these 13 apps won't survive a reboot.
When I reboot my device, the system/launcher (or whatever it is) resets the dock, so that only 10 apps
will be shown after reboot. I still have the possibility to put up to 13 apps on the dock, but after reboot,
only 10 apps will be shown.

Oh, yeah...thanks! I had never concidered (with my limited knowledge) that the launcher is also just an apk running on android. big ah-ha moment for me there. Thanks for the eye opener.

[Q] Change navigation bar icons in the Theme app?

Hi guys, I've been trying to figure out how to change the icon of the navbar for a few days now, still have no clue. It would be nice to have the Stock Android look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I see some theme on the market which have the navbar icons changed, so I assume that it is possible to some options (which I don't know about) in the Theme app to do that without rooting my M9, right?
Thanks in advance
Create a Theme here under Maker Pro
That allows you to change all icons and navbar stuff. I think it does anyway.

Yeah I tried it a few days ago, it does let you change icons of a lots of popular apps, but I don't see any option for the navbar whatsoever

You have to use the pro -themer on the page.
Then nav icons and the clock widget have their own steps in the process.
Now... if someone can tell me how to hack the google icons inn instead of the choices htc give me... (they have one that is similar to stock but square is home and two circles indicate the task switcher. (and there is an ugly line on the back key))
i still can't find it
