Emulator and SMS api

Hello!
I want to test an application that uses the sms api on yhe emulator , but the one that comes with pocket pc 2002 sdk does not have the sms.dll. Can anyone please tell me where can i find an emulator that supports the sms library? Or this kind of applications must be tested only on the actual device?

Instant messenger app for multiple networks without using 3rd party service

I am looking for choices for IM clients that support multiple networks (preferably one that supports as many of the following as possible: Facebook, twitter, msn, icq, gtalk, skype, jabber, aim, irc, myspace). Multiple accounts for any given network would be a bonus as well.
The important part is that I would like a client that stores my logon details only on my device. I do not want to supply a third party with all my logon ID's and passwords. I am happy to install something on my own servers and use that, but not on a third party server.
What are my options?
check the Stick thread in "Rhodium themes, applications and software"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=491
Thanks. I saw that thread. It only lists Nimbuzz and Palringo and they both need signup to 3rd party sites by the looks.
I have a list,hope this helps:

Does any 3rd party app support MSN login from multiple locations?
I am appalled by the fact that the actual MS Live application (for mobile) does not support this.
Thanks.

Does MSN itself support it? Few IM protocols do.. Most of them knock off the previous connection.
I actually kind of like centralized servers, one data channel, plus the traffic could potentially be lower as the central server can do the keepalives etc for you, etc..
Verichat on Palm OS was a central server that did this and it was awesome and barely used any battery.. Most other mobile IM's I've tried use lots of battery because of all of the constant keepalives, updates, etc...
Jabber is okay, but few people use Jabber itself as a protocol, most just use it as a conduit to AIM, MSN etc..

Yeah, MSN does support it since a few versions back. It has been present in the desktop client for a while now. No idea why the mobile doesn't yet. It annoys the hell out of me.
Thanks for the list of IM clients. Quite a few to check out. Currently looking at IM+. Was working fine yesterday, but today it doesn't want to connect to msn. Everything else works. I also don't like the way the scrolling works. Very slow and in twitter, it just highlights text instead of scrolling. Using the scrollbars works fine though.
Some of the above require you to log into the providers account and store your usernames and passwords on their site, which I didn't want to do.
IM+ also do a skype IM. Not sure what the difference between that and the official skype app is. They don't mention it.
Well, got all weekend to play with some more.

How many App's are too many ?

I have 53 in mine so far.
I know the TP2 PPC has its limits to how many app's you can put in it and still run efficiently.
But I can't help myself.
There are so many apps out there, I want them all.
When I down load them I number them, put them on my storage card, and have a copy them to a folder on my computer.
I'm sure I will be doing a Hard reset with all these apps sitting in there.
Being new to this STP2 (Sprint) I'm not sure if I've gone too far.
I do have to use the "clear ram" to get the g sensor working again some times.
How many is too many?
How many do you have?
Anyway here is my list of apps. (so far)

I need to clean house a little.
Too many is whenever you run out of storage space. Other than that, go to town. If there's something making it behave badly, that's the fault of the software, it has nothing to do with some imagined "limit" on how many things can be installed.

The practical limitation is how many apps are running at the same time -- that's where you'll run out of memory.
The onboard storage for app installation is quite large, but you know you can install most (but not all) apps to your storage card and most (but not all) will work fine. And with up to 16GB of storage on an SD card you can install all the WinMo apps in the world.

lol... no actually there's gonna be a performance hit just for having so many small files on the rom
there will only be performance issues if there running, like maybe on start up, and yes, maybe a slight slight decrease in speed, but for the most part install away..... ive got about 60 installed myself......

MAMA MIA!!!
I have 29. Pushing 50 is in-advisable.
Anything over 75 is just crazy and reprehensible.
Once you hit 100, the gravitational effects become such that they can no longer be removed. It produces a singularity. The phone gathers more and more apps. Eventually it becomes a black hole and will destroy all mankind. That's why we've yet to find any other intelligent species. They've all installed too many apps on their phones and suffered the resulting destruction.
But seriously, is there some form of registry "bloat" in Win-mobile? Is it like XP, where one should avoid installing applications not needed. Or do un-used installed apps just sit passively in the ROM bothering no one?

151 apps, you should be ashamed.
There are children in Africa who are starving, and have naught a single app. You have 151! People like you make my blood boil. When our children generations from now have no apps, it will be because people like you used them all up with no thought to the consequences.
Before I installed the stock T-Mobile 6.5 ROM, I had over 170 at one point...

151 apps, you should be ashamed.
There are children in Africa who are starving, and have naught a single app. You have 151! People like you make my blood boil. When our children generations from now have no apps, it will be because people like you used them all up with no thought to the consequences.

I couldn't agree more. As much as it pains me to ban/ignore a ramsfan (I'm from St.Louis) I don't wish to associate with such pretentious greedy human beings. Perhaps if he donates some of his apps to the recent homeless in Chile I may reconsider.

Also a St.Louis native, cool! I'm located out in Webster Groves.
Agreed about this apps consuming St.Louisan is someone we should avoid associating with. He's giving us all a bad name. Just so everyone knows, not everyone in St.Louis goes about consuming apps willy nilly, some of us do have a conscious! This explains why my charter cable modem has been so slow as of late. Ramsfan is probably saturating the Internet tubes around here with his voracious apps downloading.

What? Your posting? I fully agree! You should not comment what you dont understand!
IMO the lists provided in post #1 are not meaningful at all, most worst is fact they don't differentiate between freeware and payware applications.
it is a minor point if its freeware or not . this thread should be a list of good usefull programs and games for windows mobile.
