[Q]Dungeon Defenders Second Wave unsmooth. - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I hope you all now the game becouse its epic. My problem is that it is not as smooth as it should be. In build phase it is perfect, high framrate, no lag....
But in combat phase when more than 10 enemys are on the screen than its getting laggy. It is playable but i just dont like it. How to solve it?
I have a 16GB Class 2 SD card. Would a qicker one solve this problem?

The overall performance of my favorite class 4 sd card has been smoother then the class 2 but I'm not sure it will help the lag. How lggy is it? Is it unbearable because when I played it, it only lagged slightly..

I found this for a while too, I found the reason was the battery was overheating and even caused the game and sometimes my phone to crash! I solved it by getting a new (bigger) battery and by rooting and removing bloat - contacted the devs but they won't update the game till its fully released!

Guys, what's the file size of data file? I only have 700mb left on my sd card, and I'm planning to spare atleast 300mb on it..
Are there many players always online?

I've always had some slowdown while playing. They released one update that improved the slowdown a little bit, but it's still noticeable during game play.

Are there any ways to enhance the speed of APP2SD+

Hi all,
Recently, i have changed to Sandisk Mobile Ultra 16gb Class 4. Did a speed test on it with atto benchmark and it is able to read/write with an maximum of 19mb/14mb per second.
However, when app2sd+ is applied, I found that in certain apps or games, there is still an lag with the applications. (This is most obvious in games). If app2sd+ was not apply, such lags are seldom seen.
Thus, I feel that having app2sd+ is a great incentive for large storage but at the price of speed.
Are there any available tweaks out there that is able to improve the speed of app2sd+?
Pardon my poor english.
Thanks.
BR,
Ruffie
Yes, I suppose. I use a Kingston Class 10 microSDHC and I've never had such problems. I can move whatever I want to that card and cannot find any difference. Also, navigating across 300 images is very smooth.
But sadly, Class 10 cards are still very expensive, especially if you want 32 GB.
Would a Class 6 be good enough you think?
There must be something wrong somewhere.
I've had a Class 2 16gb Sandisk card since back when I had a G1.
I've used APPS2SD+ all the time on the G1 and used it for a while on the Desire until I moved on to Cyanogenmod.
All my apps run as tho they were installed on the phone, regardless of what people used to say about different classes.
I have some big games installed like Fifa 10 and Zenonia and get no lag at all.

i played caligo chaser on my desire.
this game has some obvious lag when i am using app2sd+. but show no lag when i install them on phone.
not sure is it because, it is writing to both fat32 partition of the SD card and ext 3 partition on the same SD card at the same time when it is running thus causing the lag.
Does anyone know at what speed is the phone capable of read/write to the SD card?

[Q] today, how big was Xbox live extras update??? 2gb?!?!?!?

own an omina 7 and after 2 weeks i am down to 2.11GB free???? anyone know exactly how big that last xbox live extras update was??? i though i saw a massive nember when downloading it but it was so huge i thought it was a mistake was it really 2gbish? theres no way a 8gb wp7 phone can survive if updates are gonna be this big. if so how could carriers only supply 8gb phones??? .......... i have 1.31 gb of music, and only 11mb of pictures. ( the rest store on skydrive . i have installed some trial games, the biggest being need for speed i think(200mb) and the harvest) but surely a 2gb update is ridiclous?? it cant be true???..............
I think you might to look at your numbers again as i have a connection which gives me about 400kbps down and the XBL Extras update took less than a minute this afternoon.
Also if you look in the Marketplace it shows you XBL Extras is 20MB.
uninstalled xbox live games and then found out it didnt take that much space after all! phew, still its me me realise a much bigger problem. those intendingn to have a lot of games on their phones must not make the same mistake i did. do NOT buy a 8gb phone if you are intending to play a lot of games. fortunately i tried several demos. and games like need for speed undercover come in at a whooping 200mb!!!!! needless to say, ive uninstalled them now!

That would make a lot of sense.
The games are much bigger than games on Android, however they are better quality and so people just need to be aware on how much space demos / games consume.
has anyone cracked open the omnia to see if you can upgrade the memory like the HD7? I got the HD7 in the end as i thought 8gb was stupidly low. I have 16gb and have about 2.3gb left but will be upgrading to 32gb once the cost of class 6 cards comes down
they say class 4 is enough, so i wouldn't hold out, i'd just buy the 32GB class 4.
As for the Omnia 7, it uses NAND storage (on board), not microSD, so it cannot be replaced.
In saying that, I'm yet to see any 16GB Omnia handsets available. In australia, only the 8GB is available.

[Q] Internal Memory: Deciding factor

Hi guys I want to purchase Neo and the only thing stopping me is the low internal memory, Since Arc and Neo are built on the same platform, can you people guide if ther is a way on neo to install all apps on sd card keeping the internal memory free for the apps that cant be moved to SD like google maps (as far I know). I also believe that the mails & gtalk chats are stored on the phone so keeping the phone memory is imp specially when we have so less internal memory. Plz help me buy this the other option is galaxy s II but its too big to be kept comfortably in pocket.
This actually seems to be a problem in new Xperia's why nobody is replying.
Or maybe no one's replying because its been 5 hours
The internal memory on the Arc is low as it is... its prone to lags every once in a while when the memory gets so low that the phone has to do some cleanups. I'd say go for the GS2, isn't it roughly the same size as the Arc?
sgs2 look like a beast
arc look like a sexy lady....hahaha
i believe with the overclock kernel, things will work quite nicely, like lg2x, altho 512 its kinda snappy with duo core
need others to confirm....
I am interested for neo since there is no forum for it I had to post it in ARC's thread, I believe there are almost equal as per hardware internal and S/W. Neo is quite smaller than S II.
I find that after removing a lot of the SE stuff, it frees up a lot of the internal memory. I put all of my apps on the internal memory and games on the sd, and it's working out pretty well for me.
Though if you have A LOT of apps/games, then you can look at "App 2 SD" which is on the Android Market. It lets you move almost all of your apps onto your SD card. So while having low internal memory sucks, its not that big of an issue IMO.

I've moved google maps to sd card without a problem (with titanium backup) and i've uninstalled alot of SE bloatware.
Off course, the internal memory of Arc is no comparison to the SGS2, but i honestly don't experience any lag, but then again, i'm not a heavy app user (got bout 20/25 of them).
A friend of mine got the SGS2 and it's indeed slightly bigger then the Arc, and putting them next to eachother confirms the beauty and the beast story ;-).
edit... only just saw your interested in Neo, that's a different comparison regarding looks, i haven't seen a Neo in reel life yet

After 2 days my HOV becomes unusable.

It dosent matter what ROM I use stock or whatever. Everything runs great but after 2 days it just lags hard. In the menus, in apps, everywhere. It becomes unusable. I've only had it 2 weeks. I guess cause I threw out the packaging they wont take it back. So Im stuck with it. If I cant figure it out Im gonna smash it. It seems better when I take my memory card out. I got the card brand new with the phone. Its a 16gb Kingston Class 10. Ive been doing a lot of roms. You think its a bad card? Why would it run great then 2 days later like crap? Anyone else have this? Any ideas?
Does a reboot fix the lags?

SD Booster on Ace 2

Has anyone tried SD Booster on the Ace 2? I found a small mention of it in the gaming thread. I was just wondering if it's worth bothering with. I've got a 4GB Class 4 card. The reviews look pretty positive on the Play STore.
dont use it. i used it and it messed up my phone. i ever created a thread here about it and i still havent gotten my phone working because of it. it will seriously **** your phone up and is not worth it.and if anyone reading this knows how to fix it can they please reply on the thread above or send me a message please
me too
you mean like after intalling it and rebooting after takes a lot and when finally booted. evrything force closes.it happen to me also.
the thing that did was factory resret and recover a backup i have taken before.also only a factory reset will work
Interesting. I think I'll give it a miss then! I'm always wary of these alleged 'performance enhancing' apps. I guess for what might only be a small improvement in performance it's not worth the bother. Thanks for the replies.
Does anyone know of any performance boosters that are actually worth bothering with? I mean my phone runs okay, but it's just that temptation to squeeze every last bit of pwer out of it, ha.
for me the best thing i done was rooted it, removed all the crapware that came with it like the network apps and some of the samsung stuff. i installed an app called setcpu which automatically controls the speed of the cpu. set it as profile: screen off and max: 400000 or 200000 min:20000 priority: 100. it works great for me and i can get great times except when i use a 3g connection
i recommend just upgrading your ext sdcard to a class 10,(and swap storages after) would help. (that is, if you can get one.)

A REAL class 10 card. You can't believe how many off-brand "class 10" cards are on the market that are slower than the class 4 I bought sometime in 2006...
