[BEWARE] 'Genuine' Samsung pouch/case on ebay (seller: cheapgadget) UPDATED 18-9-11 - Galaxy S II Accessories

Just received one of these from this seller on eBay. On the face of it, they look like nice little slip cases with the added benefit of being genuine Samsung (according to the auction title).
However, upon opening the case, I decided to return to the seller; these are the reasons I sent to him via eBay messaging:

2. You state that the case is "Genuine Samsung" in the auction title and state the "Brand" as Samsung also. All the Samsung products that I've bought in the past have at least a card backer with the 'genuine' logo on it and a part number.
3. The auction title states that the case is made of Leather. Then in the auction text, it states 'faux leather'. It can't be both. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the 'faux leather' text or I wouldn't have bought the product.

I have now completed the eBay returns procedure and will be posting later today. I will update the thread if I ever get a refund. Also, I'm gonna link to this thread in the negative feedback that I give the seller
I've also just noticed that the cheeky sod has updated the auction text to include a note about the hole. See the pics below. His description of the hole is just laughable.
Edit: My amusing communications with cheap gadget are continued in post 14

Based on the position of the speaker hole, I think it's a case for the Glaxy S. The seller is just being a cheapskate and try to sell them for S2 owner

Hopefully, I'll get my money back.

Nah you don't need to be clever, you can achieve this simply by bending time.

This is where I've been going wrong. I updated her SGS2's camera firmware last night. All I have to do now is retrospectively apply the pink fix to the photos above. Anyone have a spare chrono-bending appliance handy?

you know what? i have bought the same thing....it is obviously made for sgs1. i gave them negative feedback and i told them i won't send them back the case because i have no time to go to the post office. they fully refunded me and asked me to change the feedback. so i've got the money back and i forced the case with an object to make the phone fit. i think it is one of the best looking cases although it is not a genuine s2 case. could somebody post ebay links to original sgs2 cases looking like this?

argh, how frustrating. i use a 'sock' for my phone, its nice as I can quickly wipe my screen when putting it in or taking it out...(i hate fingerprints)

Indeed. I never put my phone in the case that I have at the moment unless the screen is clean. My reasoning is that if it has grease on it when it goes in, it'll accumulate in the case lining. Yuck.

Bear in mind that the item, according to Royal Mail, had been delivered and signed for the day before (Tues 13/08 at 08:40)! By Saturday, I got cheesed off waiting and sent the following message via ebay:

And indeed, I have had a refund and ebay has closed the case. Now I have a dilemma; Do I leave negative feedback and link to this thread for the world to see or give them neutral feedback and do the same or do as they ask and leave positive?
To be honest, I want to leave negative or neutral just because they've pissed me about so much over a case that's clearly not for the phone it's advertised as being for, made me wait nearly a week for a refund and I had to hassle them for it too.
Thoughts, oh wise XDA users?

Case Mate Tough case doesn't fit correctly. Good results

I had bought a Case Mate Tough skin case for my phone, and it's had a lot of issues with the power button fit, it would turn off and on by touching the area anywhere near it. I looked around case-mate.com and noticed this case is not on their website, so I contacted Case Mate and they say it's a known issue, and are going to ship me a new one when they come in sometime during in the next 2-4 weeks.. Good customer relations.

Bummer. I disliked mine so much i tossed it in the trash LOL.
yeah I was pissed.. I had one on my last phone, (Nexus 1) and it was amazing. I dropped my phone several times and it never had a scratch. Sabooher - contact them, they didn't ask for me to send mine back, or see a receipt..
Not even sure i would want a replacement. LOL The plastic part of the case is great. Its the silicone part that sucks. I learned my lesson this time.

I wish I would have found this thread before I bought this case. I am really disappointed with this case for the GN. I have had tough cases on several phones and they sure messed this one up. I have sent customer service an email so hopefully they will replace mine as well.

Sadly for me because I ordered mines directly from Case-Mate.com rather than a reseller. They provided me with a coupon that gives me 20% off but wouldn't give me a free replacement and said that the free replacement is only for people who bought the case from a reseller. HOWEVER, they did refund me for the purchase I made on the Tough Case. So pretty much, I got the case for free if I want to continue using it with the current flaws of it.
So pretty much:
buy case from reseller -> free replacement
buy case from case-mate.com -> coupon code off
They also said the revised case for the Tough Case & Pop coming out later this month will fit both GSM & CDMA models.
i sent a mail to case-mate .
The case-mate Tough for the galaxy nexus is now not available in their website :

That sucks. Just go spend the money on the D30. You can also buy the diamond edition bodyglove for it too. ITs a pretty sleek grey and white case.

Ummm no. The D30 has been the cause of many bezel issues including cracking. The ones you named are horrible quality at an atrocious price. Try ebay man just search t989 case, there is literally hundreds of better quality and styled products for a fraction of the cost.

Bamboo Cover Invite (Don't need it)

So I got my hands on a Bamboo back-cover invite and mistakenly, like an idiot, claimed it to my account. Now, since this is claimed to my OnePlus account, I cant send the invite to someone else, but I dont want this invite to go to waste since alot of people do want the Bamboo cover. I have a wallet case for my OPO so I am still on the fence about changing the back from a Sandstone to Bamboo. Maybe buy it and ship it directly from OP to anyone who wants it as long you are willing to send me the $$ first on PayPal. Trying to see if this is something that will interest someone else, or I may just buy it and use it when I feel. No, this is not a scam. checkout the OPO's on eBay. there are a bunch that are being sold with the bamboo on there. It's kind of hard to tell what true resale is though because of the hype/invite system. depending on when they axe it / when new phones come out it could drop fast unfortunately. If resale for max profit is your plan I'd get rid of it around feb right before all the new phones are announced.

They do that to tease you, if you click add to cart, it will tell you that you need an invite. The cover was one of the big selling points for me, so the idea that they decided people couldn't be trusted to remove the back seems like a kick in the nuts! Especially when they are still allowing people to purchase replacement Sandstone covers. So they don't trust us enough to put on a Bamboo cover, but Sandstone is fine... what gives?

Seems strange after shortly discontinued mobile there is no replacement accessories...
I noticed that OnePlus don't have cover available in website store anymore.
Honestly I feel a bit concerned with that, mainly because I read in different places that there are covers that are not good enough.
I'm disappointed because I haven't done nothing to break cover, is always inside flip cover. I can only that I don't need assistance, or else mobile will be able to paperweight.
How can I get new one? A 100% working one

Submit a support ticket on their website saying that you need a new sandstone case for the OPO and you should be able to buy one that way. That was how I got my replacement, albeit I did this a while ago. Hopefully they haven't changed this policy and you'll be able to get that case! If not, I hear there are some cases you can buy from Aliexpress, but I have no experience with them so I do not know about how legitimate they are.

I can understand that OP is releasing new phones and wants to sell it, but they can't forget about previous mobiles, with a couple of years. Probably this is my only OP phone ever.

The problem is that they don't have the StyleSwap covers in stock anymore (The stopped producing the OPO already...)
Very good to OP, very bad on the customer service point of view.
It's not OP problem; is mine, just because I have a new phone damaged and I cannot get a part to fix it.

You still getting battery covers for two year old samsungs, sony's, lg's from the Manufacturer? Prawly not. Hard enough to get software updates, let alone them keep around physical product. Want to know why you can't restore old Japanese cars like you can with American cars? Americans have the space to store old **** for decades. Japan does not.

WTB Replacement back covers?

Hello,
I have been looking and the only place I have found the back styleswap covers are on AliExpress.
I have had horrible experiences with them and almost never receive my items so I really don't want to order them.
I was wondering if anyone has styleswap covers they are willing to sell or know some where besides AliExpress that has them?
All the links in there other posts about this are either deprecated or sold out.

I work in phone repair, so I'm often looking through the catalogs of our various part suppliers, and the only time I ever see these, it's on Ali. I had some luck finding some white ones in stock at oppomart, but I think they've sold out since then. I'll find this and post in it or send you a PM if I find anything. I'm bored at work now, so I've got some time, and it looks like work anyway

I wasn't going to post any links yet, as hunting for this has taken quite some time and effort, and there's a couple of...intricacies.
Anyway, to give you all a heads up, I have ordered one, but so far it's still "processing". I wanted to make sure it's not a scam site before I posted, but from what I've seen, it's either legit, or a really REALLY good scam. I've gotten an order number and order confirmation, I have confirmed that they are located(and ship from) Sunrise, FL here in the States. They have a 1-800 number, and while I didn't speak with any representatives, it does greet you with the company name and everything. The credit card statement also shows the same zip code and website, though with a different phone number. I submitted a question to their ZenDesk about shipment tracking info, but have not heard back yet. The other weird thing is it says the cover is an "iPartsBuy" cover, and iPartsBuy themselves claim to be out of stock. Maybe some kind of merger or inventory purchase? Anyway, here's the link now that you've read through my disclaimer.

I'm also buying for myself. I've replaced just about all parts in the phone and now it's cover time

I managed to find the back covers for sale on Alibaba, and it even mentions them having NFC. Unlike the other listings on Alibaba these have a minimum order of 1 so you don't need to buy more than you need.
