Anyone have any experience with these? Looks like a good alternative to using a case if getting camera lens scratched is your main concern. It looks like it would be able to fit between the E4GT's camera lens and led flash?

Reviews say its just a plastic ring and adhesive. You could probably make something yourself.

Agreed I could do that. But I'm lazy and it does come with two so it's only $3 each. I should get it by Wednesday.

Clear case with camera protection?

Buddy of mine picked up a cheap case and screen protector combo off Ebay and the case looks sweet as it doesn't hide the phone like most cases but the camera lens isn't protected as it protrudes through the back cutout. My main concern is the camera lens. Has anyone come across a clear case whose back side cut out hole allows the camera lens to remain recessed inside the case?
Ideally i think everyone would love to find a case with a retractable back window for the camera.
I don't know who makes my case. I got it at best buy. I can lay the camera down on any surface without worrying about the lens. Having it roll around in your pocket with your keys is another story so I'm still careful with it but i was hoping to find a new case that retains some of the Evo's good looks.
On a side note, has any case manufacturer engineered a solution to this problem yet?

As far as I know there aren't any cases that protect the camera. One suggestion was to cut a cheap screen protector to go over the lens.

Right but my existing case protects the camera somewhat because the camera isn't sticking out of the case. Smart design. Wondering if there was a similar clear case on the market.

Camera lens-protect or nude?

I noticed a clear plastic cover over my new Vibrant camera lens, and wondered if I should take it off. the corner is already tabbing up, but since the lens isn't gorilla glass like the screen, scratches may ensue and screw up the camera.
Should I leave it on, apply some clear tape, or leave it alone? I do have a silicon case with a window for the lens.
Hmm, I didn't have any plastic cover over the lens on mine. Any cover on the lens would probably degrade image quality. I would take it off, but if you haven't noticed any blurry pictures, leave it on I guess. The case should protect the lense if you take it off though.
It sounds like a good idea, but who knows...I haven't found anything on the web or ebay yet.
If you purchase a screen protector from RealLook, they include a camera lens protector too.
You have to ask for it though. They will not charge you extra.
how would you do that if you got it on amazon
Lol

i would imagine over time the protector would degrade the image quality....so id say take it off and keep it off
In your purchase, you can send the seller a "NOTE"
In the note, you ask them to send you a few extra camera protectors.
If not, call them after you make the order and let them know that' what you want.
Cheers

I run my vibrant totally nude. Screen is still scratch free, but I do have a small scratch over the corner of the camera lens. It doesn't affect the image fortunately but perhaps something to keep in mind.
My lens is nude. I have been heavily using this phone for a couple months now and it appears to be scratch free so far.

Camera lens

Is the camera lens made of glass?
I really don't want to put a protector on it fearing it would alter photos.

I'm pretty sure you won't find a protector that covers the camera. Both my front and back protectors go around the camera.
fairly sure the camera lens is glass- mine already has two small chips in it. Not happy about it, as this is my first of 5+ phones to have anything like this happen to the camera.
Doesn't seem to effect the images, but i am still not pleased.

There is a company that offers a protector for the lens. I forgot which it is, but 1 does have it.

sorry to revive this thread but is there anyone that knows for sure if the camera lens cover is glass of plastic? just curious because i have some scratches on mine that i was going to try to buff out with a plastic-x headlight scratch remover.
this stuff works great on hard plastic and just wanted confirmation before applying it to a glass cover. thanks

I don't think buffing is a good idea ...
yea i just have some scratches on the lens cover and was curious of the material. figure if i did try to use the plastic-x i may do more harm then good but was just curious. a little ocd. i guess if they get significantly worse i can always replace the rear housing. thanks

Dust under back camera lens cover of my GNote4.... again.

This is the second Galaxy Note 4 I purchased with dust under the back camera lens cover. I gently took the second Note 4 out of the box and immediately checked the back camera with a loupe under the right light. Sure enough, the same type of skin dust is under the lens cover sitting right on top of the lens... same as the first GNote4 I bought and returned. Both of them came from AT&T as brand new devices.
Do you think these are returned items or do they come like this straight from the factory or even from the AT&T factory? This is crappy for such an expensive high-end phone.
Is there any way to fix it without making the issue worse? Otherwise I'll have to return this one too. Perhaps the third time will be a charm. This is unacceptable.
Thanks for your advice.
Just a simple question since you said you immediately looked at it after taking it our of the box:
Did you remove the protective plastic from over the lens? It is hard to see and and the phone takes great pictures even with on (not as good as when it is off but still not noticeable if you are not aware).

Thanks. That's the first thing I looked at since my last Note 4 had the same issue. Yes, I was aware of the protective plastic but I was looking through the hole. I did take it off anyway and it was still there below the glass lens cover sitting right on top of the actual lens.
I was not aware you could take great photos with the protective plastic still in place.
I was wondering if there's anything I can do to fix this? HERE in the 5th post down, this guy says he looked at 5 Note 4's and each one had dust under the lens cover.
Thanks.
Edit, I just added a photo of the lens. This is supposedly a BRAND NEW GN4 just out of the box.. You can see the dust sitting right on top of the lens and there's finer dust around the sides or bellows. This all looks like skin particles.
That photo looks like it still has the plastic on it.
See the plastic?
Thanks. I should have taken the photo with the lens protector off to avoid confusion. Like I said, I removed the plastic protector and the dust was still there below the glass and on top of the actual lens and around the bellows.
I just ordered an exchange for a new device. If the 3rd one comes with dust sitting right on top the actual lens, I will return it and buy something different. I had a Sony Ericsson K790A for about 7 years. and there still is not even one spec of dust under the lens glass.
This is a picture of my fiance camera.

That camera lens looks dust free. Although, is that a spec on the lens? I see two reflections and one spec. Could be all reflections, Thanks
Replaced it for another one.... this one is MUCH better.

camera lens protector?

where can i buy some sort of screen protector or sticker for the rear camera? i don't have the plastic on it anymore and i don't like the idea how it's protectionless. For my Galaxy Note 4, the plastic fell off recently somehow and I was barely able to cover it using a spare screen protector, but it didn't stick well.
If i can't find anything for this phone , im thinking of either using tape or stickers from the dollar store or walmart.

Right now, I taped the glass part of the camera and cut out wholes for the camera lens, so it doesn't affect the quality lol. very getto but it seems to work, but i'm 1/4 finished. I did this to my Note 4 too yesterday.

for your first link, I don''t really like the idea how with the camera glass, it still means that the lens is ****ting the surface first and putting the pressure on it. in your opinion, how scratch resistant is it and does it affect the camera quality? I wish they made one like that but inverse so it covers everything but the lenses itself .
I might buy the dbrand camera skin, it seems to be what i'm looking for.
