Just purchased mine an hour ago, I am sorry I am such a noob but here is the info from my T-Mo. If you need anything else let me know and tell me how to do it. I am not kidding when I say my ignorance may astound you. Baseband version: T989UVKID Kernel version: 2.6.35.11 Don't know if this helps but there you go.

Rogers is getting a totally different SGSII with LTE.
The T-Mobile and Telus versions will have the same radio. I guess we'll see when it arrives on Telus, whether it's actually precisely the same FCC ID and such.

The screenshot at MobileSyrup shows:
Model: SGH-T989D
Android 2.3.5
Kernel 2.6.35.11
Baseband T989DTLKI3

Interesting. I wonder if the FCC ID will still turn out to be the same.
If AT&T customers are getting inconsistent connections on the T-Mobile Amaze, maybe flashing the Telus baseband would help. It could be differently optimized.

Then it's not a Hercules variant. Rogers is getting an LTE/HSPA+ version.

That article about the Rogers SGS2 is incorrect. It has LTE on 700 and AWS, but not HSPA on AWS. Therefore it does not have "T-Mobile frequencies".
Anyway this is the wrong thread, wrong forum. This is NOT a variant of the Hercules.

Thanks. And the FCC ID?

Fccid: A3lsght989d

Interesting, as opposed to A3LSGHT989. Two separate FCC entries. I wonder if there is any functional difference.

i'll assume D is for Telus and the one without D is for the Tmo FCC registration

[Q] No OTA for 4.0.2 or 4.0.3?

If you have Cwm the ota won't install anyway.
Secondly you are probably on a yakjuxx build, and which gets its updates from Samsung and not Google. Search on market for an app called galaxy nexus update (or something close to that), which will tell you which build you have.
If you want to change to yakju (which Google updates directly), there are a thread in general which shows you what to do.

Why won't the OTA install if i have CWM?
Why do they have different versions of the same ROM? some that Samsung update and some that google update? is there any other difference to the ROM's?
Any other advantage to being on the yakju ROM?
Will installing any of these ROM's clear my data? from what I remember I don't think it does..
[REF] [HOW-TO] Official Google OTA update URLs
Read THIS.
You have to wait for samsung to push it. Yakju is the build that comes directly from Google, so you'll get the ota updates a lot sooner than everyone else, however it is only on 4.0.2.
If you want 4.0.3, install a custom rom such as AOKP.
I was doing some reading seems like 4.0.2 is a bit laggy.
I was really more interested in how to switch from yakjuux to yakju, but if google is going to release buggy OTA's it might be a bit better to let it filter through samsung after all.
but just for the record how do i switch from yakjuux to yakju? just flash the yakju build update over top of the yakjuux?

I was in the same boat as you, waiting for an update to 4.0.2 but it just never came, so I got antsy and then flashed a rom. I am pretty disappointed though because I got the nexus especially for google's updates but again I got screwed by Samsung waiting for their updates.
That's the exact reason why I bought a Gnex, so I can get updates from Google, not from Samsung or Rogers witch is my carrier. But now because I don't have the right rom on mine I'll have to wait, only God knows when they will push it! So freaking stupid!

[Q] Latest Koodo SII X (T989D) Baseband?

To all who may have taken advantage of the $300 -$100 Visa or Gift Card for this phone: What Version and Baseband is your phone running?
My phone is running Android 4.0.4 & T989DTLLG2. I find no reference to this baseband on Koodo, Telus, Samsung or searching Google for that matter.
Who can confirm that this is the new valid version and baseband for Koodo?
FYI, I just spent an hour on the phone with "Tech Support" who only wanted to argue with me that this "information wasn't relevant or is available to her". Her customer service was atrocious which in fairness to Koodo was the first time I've encountered such bad service.
Koodo = Telus basically, TLLE4 is the ICS radio for telus so I would assume that TLLG2 would be koodo just different naming schemes, or it seems like as it's the same phone. Plus the telus radio is more than likely compatible with the koodo phone.
Correct Koodo is a Telus subsidiary but Telus' version is 4.0.3 and Koodo's is 4.0.4. This leads me to believe the radio could be an upgrade rather than just a rename.
Any one confirm or refute that Telus radio T989DTLLE4 = Koodo T989DTLLG2?

To extract the radio, follow the steps here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506212
To get the system image, just do a nandroid backup in CWM and extract the system TAR file (not the other CACHE/DATA files which may contain your personal information).
Thanks a lot!

Koodo Samsung Galaxy S II X
Model number SGH-T989D
Thanks in advance,

Here is a link where you can download the stock TLLG2 Koodo Radio. And for the stock TLLE4 Telus radio you can download it from here.
You should be able to download a .zip file which you can flash through CWM/TWRP. A little searching through the threads goes a long way. Cheers!

[Q] What ROM to flash on an unlocked SGH-I317 from AT&T...

Hello.
I have an unlocked SGH-I317 from AT&T, I live in México and my cellular operator is Telcel.
Can I install a ROM from the SGH-I317M model Telcel is selling in México? Can I install a ROM from the SGH-I317M being sold in Canada?
I've found this ROMs, and their related information:
AT&T : I317UCAMA4_I317ATTAMA4_ATT.zip | 848.6 MB
Model: SGH-I317
Country: USA (AT&T)
Version: Android 4.1.2
Changelist: N/A
Build date: Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000
Product Code: ATT
PDA: I317UCAMA4
CSC: I317ATTAMA4
MODEM: I317UCAMA4
Telcel: I317MUMBMB1_I317MTCEBMB2_TCE.zip | 988.9 MB
I317MUMBMB1_I317MTCEBMB2_TCE.zip | 988.9 MB
Model: SGH-I317M
Country: Mexico (Telcel)
Version: Android 4.1.2
Changelist: N/A
Build date: Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000
Product Code: TCE
PDA: I317MUMBMB1
CSC: I317MTCEBMB2
MODEM: I317MUMBMD1
Canada: I317MVLBMA3_I317MOYABMA3_VMC.zip | 885.9 MB
Model: SGH-I317M
Country: Canada
Version: Android 4.1.2
Changelist: N/A
Build date: Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 +0000
Product Code: VMC
PDA: I317MVLBMA3
CSC: I317MOYABMA3
MODEM: I317MVLBMA3
I see the Modems are different versions... how will that affect my phone if I use any of the Canada or Telcel ROMs?
What is PDA and CSC?
Besides the need to use "Odin", which other things should I consider to do this? How should I backup my phone?
Thanks...!
Ok flashing other modem's on a device that it, isn't ment for will give you lots of PROBLEMS! FYI
If your looking for a Rom to flash find something that don't include a modem. And you should be OK. But if you find something from your county then you might get all the features they offer.
Personally I think that you need to do a lil (well quite a bit I'd say) reading up on the Android flashing, Rom's, etc!
But making a back up is best thru your recovery! I prefer TWRP recovery, found HERE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33867032
Look HERE for INFO:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38949514
What is CSC?
CSC is the consumer software customisation and is specific to geographical region and carriers. It contains the software packages specific to that region, carrier branding and also APN settings for data connection, MMS etc for your service provider.
What is PDA?
PDA refers to the build version of the software/firmware
Hopefully this info will get you on your way! Good luck buddy...

I have a Telcel i317m... in case you are interested in custom ROMs, you can flash any ATT (t0lteatt) or international gt 7105 (t0lte) ROMs with no problems.
Few ROMs will flash a modem and CSC... but you can always restore the originals from recovery

There's no point in flashing US or Canadian carrier's roms. They will install lots of apps you can't use.
You are better off using a debloated stock~ish rom like Cleanrom or Jedi. I have Cleanrom and I use a Tecel sim when I cross the border.
Not receiving 4G anymore
Hey guys, need help very badly.
I've a AT&T i317 unlocked, I'm from India, got the phone from US. Used to get 4G all the time when i was on stock ROM. Then i decided to go custom and installed Ditto Note 3 Rom v3.0 and continued receiving 4G. Then as the rom was unstable i'd to upgrade it to v3.1 and for a few days i did get 4G. But the thing with v3.1 is it comes with aroma installer and we were asked to install the rom which was meant for N7105 rather than i317 orelse the phone would be stuck at the samsung glowing logo forever!
So as instructed i did select N7105 and it changed a few settings but still was able to get 4G. Then came the worst part, i out of curiosity tried installing the rom for i317 and got stuck on samsung glow logo and again reinstalled the N7105 rom.
But on the installation process i observed that when i do a DATA/FACTORY RESET, it did not wipe the internal memory, so i did it manually in the phone settings and then installed N7105 which turned my phone completely into N7105! and ever since i lost 4G. :crying:
Then i tried installing V3.1 and check for 4G but with no luck.
So please help me out.
And what im thinking is if may be i can get a stock i317 rom that samsung released, i can instal it and do a factory reset and get my phone to be like when it came out from the factory and it might solve the problem coz i hate 2G! It sucks. And im not able to find the stock rom, please share me the link if any or suggest me something guys please!

DL AT&T UCUBMK6 i317 *Odexed* Stock CWM Note 2 extract it and grab build.prop from /system/app. It's stock so no fluff.
It's also good to have that file as a back up since it has the stock files.
Either odex or deodex package will do, but don't try this with the odin package unless you have a utility that will read and extract ext4 image contents.
I've attached the build.prop in case that is all you need.

These rom questions are great questions but they belong in the forum for the ROM you are running. However, you CANNOT get wifi calling from the AT&T Rom. It will only work on the T-Mobile stock ROM or developer ROMS that have used the T-Mo stock Rom Base. Jedi Master X2 comes to mind.
Please post any other of your questions for the rom you are running in its appropriate forum. I believe you will have better luck. Below is the link to the Ditto Note 3 forum. Good Luck!
