Life streaming from TP2? bambuser/livestream/ustream/qik/livecast/justin.tv etc - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hi guys, been a while since the 8525 days, now i'm looking at doing something new (to me) with my TP2. Anyone have a working life streaming solution? I've looked through and tried a bunch, and so far best I've been able to find is ustream or bambuser apps which work well on xdandroid FroYo (Can't get GingerBread to boot all the way..) other than the mike, they do not seem to pick up any sound. . .please advise
some stuff i found, but still no cigar:

Thanks!

Do you want an Android or Windows Mobile solution? If you want an Android solution, you posted in the wrong section.

Well, either..I would like any solution that works on TP2; either on WM6.5, or XDAndroid runnin off my SD card (see top two threads in android dev). Maybe someone even knows a mike fix for the latter. Ustream is nice cause it includes chat capability in the mobile client, but neither it or bambuser pick up any sound.
I just tried Quik4.2 on WM6.5 and it works ok, but Quik kind of sux, crappy website features in comparison and there is no channel chat at all .

XDAndroid requires updated acoustic libraries in order to pick up audio when recording video. Please search before throwing people off on tangents like that.

ROMs and Should I?

Hello,
I keep seeing in these forums many threads regarding ROMs. I know what they are but my question is...why should I mess with it. I have an HTC Touch GSM with WM6. Now if you tell me I can get the interface in general to be quicker and the wifi to connect sooner, then i'm sold.
Cheers,
Paul

youll be very suprised at how much of a difference it makes to flash your phone with a rom itll make it faster due to the applications that u dont use water down ur programming memory and that can be released and run faster with them gone ...just look around and find one that fits ur use..promise u will be happy...just one thing to remember ..Read he insructions carefully and dont be scared to ask any questions ..have fun
Perfection,
I guess so, sound logical. What would be the best ROM for the HTC Touch GSM, I've always felt that the phone is a little hesistant, and I've done the best that i've could in stoping animations, sounds and some registry hacks. I mostly use the Office Suite, Messenger, Skype and Netfront Browser. Then on trips the mp3 player and cameras.
Just in case I have a whole assortment of 3rd party software like: Pocket CM, PCM Keyboard, SIP Change and SPB Mobile Shell, in case it's neccessary to know.
Also, how does one go abouts installing this, i have both Mac and PC, so as you said i'm not scared of asking or trying things out, my Treo 650 I've dont a hell a lot to it, and it still runs good, but the HTC is it's replacement.
Cheers,
Paul

Well i my self have a herald or atlas >>or normal people call it the t-mobile wing so i wouldnt know exactly which one is the best
for that model but i have done alot od flashing and u always need to just post a question to the senoir members they know alot of the info and work arounds.....I promise they will make a difference ..send them private message its faster..and if ur phone is a
touch then go to the forums that show the names >>> Vogue or the Elf just look at them to see whihc one looks like urs...speak or ask the question for better programming speed to on of the senoir members it should show if they are seniors under there names.
Will do, thanks again Perfection3.

android on i780

Any project or ppl working on this?
Not that i have heard of, i would have thought it is pretty unlikely to happen to be honest. Probably more chance of it on the I900.
I dont think our I780 user group is big enough for there to be the demand needed to make it worth someone doing it.
i dun think so man, it is a great challenge to do tat
i really wait eagerly for the day that i port my i780 to android! some people got to be working on this

Who is still interested by putting Android on his i780 ? I am personnaly interested ! who can upload the rom ?
i think, the first thing we should do is download the SDK and try to dump it into i780 if possible

We know that is some part of the world, the i780 is or is going to be distributed with Android installed on it, so for sure, maybe trying to dump these roms & to install them on ours, should be the first & best simple step, no ?
That's why I was asking for Android ROM as it should exists for i780 in some part of the world
Anyway, I just installed the Eclipse environment for the Android SDK... in the case of....
ME!
I would certainly like to run android on my i780.
The one reason i got it, was because of the touchscreen+qwerty setup, but the touch screen is pretty much useless as it is.... Well except from playing Lemmings CS, that is.
Bugs and a terrible UI are the main drawbacks of this device.
The only way I have managed to get sort of a finger friendly interface on it, is with spb mobile shell and the 320x320 theme pack. But it is not a todayplugin, and so "pop-ups" does not work properly, and it will go back to the WM today-page when clicking the end-button or exiting many apps.
WM was never made for a mobile phone device. Neither for being navigated without a stylus. I believe that is the main reason why it suck so much at both. Android on the other hand...
And from what I have seen so far, it looks nice. Me wants.
edit: Seems like the Koogan Agore was never released? A comment somewhere seems to point the finger at google an some google certification problem.. Still, maybe someone could mail them and ask nicely for the ROM?
I hate saying this, but is there any news? Maybe someone spotted some news on the web?
I found a video which showed two Samsungs running Android. The Omnia and the i780/Epix.
I'm searching for a couple of minutes now, but I can't find it anymore.

There were many portings of i780 and they only support basic touch screen. This guy finally makes it supports WiFi, Call and SMS.

Looks promising indeed! Do you know how stable is this?
so has there been any significant breaktrhough regarding android and the i780
I had the wm6.0, then the 6.5 and now the 6.1, but I find them all to be much too unstable and to fidly to even bother learning more about them.
I did like the wm6.5 interface a lot and I believe android would be a class above everything else regarding UI
Also the guy on the blog posted an image with the android.

Youtube video Downloader ( a patch for...)

Hello guys , do you know if exists a cab or a patch created for download Youtube videos on WM 6.5 ?????
Thanks
Closest thing to a youtube downloader is youtubeplay, as far as I know. It's a separate program that can play or download youtube videos. The only drawback is it only works with the lowest quality videos.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2660344&postcount=1
This program is OLD and isn't useful with WM 6.5 . I would like to see a cab that add to original youtube player a tab for download videos ...like the Palm Pre or iPhone "jailbreaked" ...
Developers , GET UP !!!!!

um....really? Sure you don't want to rephrase that request a little? Unlike the devs on your planet, ours don't just sit around waiting to be ordered into action by an anonymous party with an immdiate "need"
"...Does anybody know of anyone working on this type of thing now, or anybody who might be interested in giving it a shot? I'd be happy to provide input and feedback to anybody that is, or would. Thanks in advance!"
-there, I fixed that for you

Just brought TP2 want to use emulators + more q's

Hi So I used to have a touch HD (still do but selling) and have brought a TP2 (arriving soon) and I want to make good use of the keypad.
The first thing I want to do is play on some emulators what are some good options? I have narrowed it down to fpsece and morphgear, are they the best? any others?
Is there anything else cool the keypad gives me that I couldnt do before? I was thinking an app which allows me to connect to my pc/ps3 as a blutooth keyboard would come in very handy does this exist? If not can anyone point me in the right direction to make this myself - I know my way around C# and wm development but never done anything with bluetooth or emulating hardware.
Many thanks

Well there IS a WM app that will do that for both PS3 and PC, it's called MobileRemote1.1...but it seems that it's not working right on the TP2 as of yet. So, if you're skilled enough to fix that issue, there'd be some grateful people here I'm sure Info in THIS thread.
Now what you can use in the meantime, at least on your PC (no PS3 support yet) is an app called gremote, which gives all kinds of remote PC control options, over BT or wifi. Basic version is free, full version is paid. http://gbmsoftware.com/
Thanks for the info on the apps. If I can get some good info on making this type off app I will give it a go.

dual boot android winows

Hi i saw someware that the hd2 had dual boot windows and android.
as i use android i find it dosnt do all the things i want like tomtom, skype, divx/wmv, allowing you to save apps to the sd card etc, etc basically every thing i used my old phone for so i was wondering before i try n swap this back to a windows based device if there was a dual boot rom or somthing. thanks.
Every week at least one person asks this question. At the moment no, it can't be done. Furthermore, Windows Mobile sucks. I like hacking and modding my phone as much as the next person but can't understand why anybody would want this.
You can save your apps to sd card in Froyo. Instead of tomtom you have Google Nav, which is free. For divx and wmv playback install rockplayer which is also free. Perhaps you have a point on Skype though.
By the way the dual boot on the touch HD is not a "real" dual boot and doesn't run Android natively, it still boots Windows Mobile first and then just autoruns an Android launcher from the SD card.
Thanks for the reply i have to say i like tomtom alot more then google maps, skype are useless but i have credit on there and everyone is on it so free skype to skype calls, i am glad for the info on rockplayer i was under the impression all players were front end only and miss coreplayer as i dont wanna sit around converting vids all day ya know.
yay rockplayer rurles thank you whats the best voip alternative to skype ?
Is that the official froyo release will let me save to sdcard so if i unroot and flash back to original htc rom i can have official froyo with saving to sd card ? thats great if i read you right wares the original rom lol oopsi...
i know windows sucks but my experience with android hasnt completely impressed either. thanks for the reply and the info though mate its truly appretiated
oh and have great weekend
for voip try sipdroid
thank you i will do but if it sucks can i giv you a chinese burn ?

You will have to root if you have not done so already do get froyo. It's easy and painless. You will also need to flash a new radio to use these roms or you will get white noise and echo on the line. There's a good selection of froyo roms now in the dev section on this board since the HTC build with Sense was leaked.
Once you have froyo you can either default apps to install to the sd card, or you can go into Settings - Applications - Manage applications - Select App, press "move to sd card"

Very new to the htc desire but have been into voip for a good few years, give 3cxphone a try for voip too. Found the sound quality really good and its easy to set up.
for navigation copilot is great. For skype you can use nimbuzz... use google or bing or ask searches... its not that difficult to find stuff.
