[APP] Mobile ODIN - Galaxy Ace S5830 Themes and Apps

New app for flashing smartphones without PC!!!
Do not support SGA yet, but list of supported devices will be expanding.
Home page:
[16.11.2011] Mobile ODIN v1.1 [ROOT]
Mobile ODIN is the on-device firmware flasher of choice. Just throw those firmware files on your (internal or external) SD card, start Mobile ODIN and flash away.
! Your device must be rooted to be able to use Mobile ODIN !
If you use the EverRoot option (Market/Pro version only), Mobile ODIN will root the firmware while you flash it. Checking out that new leaked firmware? No reason to lose root!
All partitions are supported, as are loose files, .tar files and .tar.md5 files. Mobile ODIN will even check the MD5 signatures before flashing. While in theory Mobile ODIN can repartition and flash EFS and bootloaders, it will cowardly refuse to do so, for your own safety.
Currently supported devices:
- Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100
- Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000
- Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 *NEW*
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" GT-P1000 *NEW*
More devices to come!
Flashing with Mobile ODIN does NOT increase your custom kernel flash counter or make the yellow warning triangle appear.

The author of the program can adapt it for our device. Just posted a dump to the author.

Is this true?

My post have a link on the author's program. You can read the topic about the experience of the program.

galaxy s2~~~~ i think pretty soon galaxy ace will have it. or maybe not. CF-Root for SGA by ketut and not Chainfire. OMG GALAXY ACE MIGHT HAVE IT.
from the original thread
The list of devices currently supported by Mobile ODIN is rather short. Not all devices are created equal, and devices need some work to be supported. Currently I am only considering Samsung devices for future support.
At the minimum, I will need some information from you about your device to figure out the partitions, their layout, and how to flash them. You can gather this information by downloading and installing the app. If your device is not supported, it will offer to make a dump file for you. This will take a while. Post the dump file in this thread.
If you can find a .PIT or .OPS file for your device, please attach it !
After that, I will also need a kernel for this device running preferably CWM5, but if unavailable, CWM4 or CWM3 may also do.
If you are lucky, this will allow me to make your device compatible. It may be required that you do some rather lengthy and extensive testing for me.
Devices currently under consideration
Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830

only kies supports single files. else you must odinize the single file like Doky did.
kernel BAK
somewhat related to thread:
there are a bunch of apps out there, that do KERNEL BACKUP & RESTORE, i.e.:
tuxility // open source
SGS kernel flasher
yaffs explorer
SGS tools (maybe) // open source
kTool v1.4
ROM Manager
ODIN mobile
tuxility just uses dd to do the trick, seemingly. none of the above work on the SGY, however.

[NO LONGER REQUIRED] Testers for dsixda's Android Kitchen (for Sprint GS3)

Hi guys,
I have recently added support for the Galaxy S3 for my Android ROM kitchen, and have confirmed that ROMs can successfully be built and flashed for the GS3 variants for AT&T, T-Mobile and International.
Since I don't have the Sprint device, I was wondering if some of you can confirm it works for the SPH-L710 (and also the C Spire SCH-L710).
Please follow the instructions below to use the kitchen for your GS3. These are T-Mobile instructions but should also work for the Sprint model:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1939420
Would be greatly appreciated!
No one wants to give this a shot? It should definitely work, since the file format of the Sprint S3 custom ROMs are similar to that of the other S3 variants.

Running this right now on a Linux box(Mint 13 Cin.). Will report back. Attempting to do the latest jelly bean leak.
How'd it go? Make sure you have latest version of kitchen.
Ran it and it wouldn't flash on my phone. Attempting to use my windows box just to see if it wasn't something that I did that made it not work.
Same thing happened on my other box. Keeps failing when it says updating cache. Says it expects an arguement of four but is only getting three.

Updating cache? What did you try to do to your rom? Did you start with a stock, unmodified rom? The error about the arguments has to do with the update-binary, but first I need to know what you are doing. Simplest thing to do is to just root it and then flash that.
I am definitely interested in this. I'll try to get it prepped if the gf relinquishes my pc to me =(. Wb dsixda. Saw your kitchen was on hiatus before. Now to cook up some custom roms for myself and friends.

I had the stock deodexed LIH update. It was in zip format. All I did was run it through the kitchen. (Make a working folder and the option 99 to build from working folder). I made no edits whatsoever. I used the interactive mode to build the rom. Both times, it failed on me with the same code. I can upload the update-binary from the one I built if that will help.

No no... that's not the way I intended it. I linked a guide on the first post, please do not ignore the instructions. The kitchen will not work with someone else's zipped ROM - everyone uses their own methods. Start with an untouched stock ROM image and root it, then flash it.

Ran the odin files through the kitchen and the rom booted up just fine.

How to root tmobile galaxy note 2 (10/25/12)

This is not done by me, i am just a tester. to confirm this and own a SGHT889 tmobile galaxy note 2. It works perfect. All credit goes to the individual or inviduals provided in the. 2nd link.
Again, ONLY ROOT VIA FLASHING RECOVERY THROUGH ODIN AND INSTALLING SUPER USER VIA CWM. IF YOU DONT DO THIS YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE. I AM NOT RESPONSIBKE IF YOU DO.
Make sure phone is in USB debugging mode on settings then developer options
1) Download note 2 samsung driver and install
2) Run the toolkit and select XXALJ1 OPTION 2.
3) Select option 2 rooting options
4) Select option 4 to flash cwm, and superuse.
5) Once installed and your device boots into recovery flash superuser.zip

Thank you very much! That worked like a charm.
I couldn't get it to see the phone, might have been impatient or missed a step. Should the phone be in download mode? Or just on?
I used Simplelife's method, with odin, and that worked like a charm.
I truly am thankful for the work everyone did to figure this out in such a short amount of time.
Friendly reminder: "How to root" threads don't belong into a development board - unless it's a exploit, you yourself, coded from ground-up.
Please watch WHERE you post.

Worked awesome on my T-mobile Galaxy Note II - Thanks for sharing! :good:
can somebody please provide a link to the drivers? I can't find them anywhere and I don't want to install Kies... thanks
Works like a Charm. Thanks a lot. I love the original ROM, just needed root access.
This thread is being closed not because of any wrong doing, just for the fact that the Toolkit supports kernel rooting and full support for TMobile models now *HERE* so there is no need for this thread anymore.
Also the link in the first post is for V1.0.0 which is out dated and as this will probably be updated a few times in the next few days to add new devices its best for people to download directly from the thread to get the latest version.
Thanks for providing the info to your fellow users

Unrooting GT-N7100? i've done my research desperately....in vain?

Hello XDA
sorry to ask a question that many of you are aces at, but how can i unroot the n7100? i've done my research; the proof is the links at the end of my post. I want to unroot so that the phone can receive the latest updates OTA or by downloading official files. No custom roms, theyre just not required (yet), since its my brother's phone.
Details: Model is GT-N7100
Currently: Android 4.1.1
Baseband: N7100XXALJ2
Don't think kernel is relevant, so omitted
Build Number: JR003C.N7100XXALJ3
(i've double checked, and all above information is correct)
I wanted a few questions answering, really.
1 - What is the difference between the build number and the baseband? I have 2 note ii's in the family, and the above details are my brother's. and in both of our phones, the baseband and build number are only slightly different. What are they?
2 - In one website, i was directed samsung-updates.com (http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N7100) to download the appropriate firmware, but there was a differentiation by region code (3 letters). What is this? And what if i cant find a UK/GB version?
3 - When unrooting, which firmware do i actually use? What if there will NEVER be a sim card inserted? (it's a gaming phone only)
I will happily and with much appreciation respect your responses to this....Help me out? I may be a novice, but not a noob. I don't want it just answering; I'd really like to learn more here, so please treat me as a student (i'm only 16 anyway, but that's besides the point), and explain how and what.
Researched links:

a few more...
Many, many thanks

you make it sound really easy, but aaagh, i dunno where to download the stock rom! (With the latest update). That's my definite BIGGEST problem. The rest of it is fine, methinks. Since you've mentioned it, is the triangle away app really necessary if it isn't going back to Samsung/dealer?
Thanks

Yes, Samsung do not provide updates anymore for the s4 mini.
You should be able to install CM13, like the rest of us.
Which method did you use to root? Which procedure are you following & what is actually failing? Do you have custom recovery installed?
I just followed Arco's recovery root thread & used the s4mini rootkit v2. Later installed TWRP and CM13.
