12.06.2011 [PORT][NS4G] Koush's ICS Build for CDMA [Koush Alpha 11 Based] MMS Fixed!! - Nexus S 4G Android Development

I take no credit for this what so ever!!! All I did with the help of Joelz9614 is port to our CDMA Nexus 4Gs. This is a source build from Koush, he did all of the amazing work to get this rom to work! I spoke with Koush and have his permission to post. Also thank you to Kwiboo and AOSP, I used some of his Libs as well to get CDMA working.
Well here are the goods:

A2DP bluetooth audio should be working. <0000 Thank you daproy
GoogleEarth will be working when Location fully works, just seems a little flaky now.
I havent fully tested it yet...but Talk Video should be working as well.
I will be working on getting location to work this week. I want to add the Center Mod Clock and Percent battery mod into the rom. Also will be making a Reboot Menu this week as well....stay tuned!!
This rom does seem snappier compared to the previous one, but that just might be me.
I have also been using Format All zip before flashing. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1225630&highlight=wipe+all

Its based of Koush's Rom Build #8...I had to use libs from Kwiboo's to get data working.

Could you please post what's not working? I'm on kwiboo v2 and everything is good minus camcorder and USB at least. Are these working?

backing up kiwiboo v2 with eri fix/franco and going to flash this to see what its all about.

There is a link to Koush's Rom...so far everything seems good. Nav has not been tested yet. Camcorder records, but feel free to test it out and leave some feedback.

playing with it now, its pretty smooth. thanks!

Market isnt working for me. Errors

What errors are you getting?

same here with the market, gettin a server error

Personally,
i think kiwiboo v2 with the eri roaming fix and the latest franco ics kernel is faster.
it also includes all the apps, koush rom did not have maps or other google apps included, i was unable to download them either, kept getting some unknown error on installing..
appreciate the effort here, i dont see the advantages over what i mentioned above along with the 11/23 franco kernel with nstools.

I wiped phone
Installed Full-crespo-ota-eng.koush.zip
then installed
Gapps
turned the phone off and then turned it on again
Everything seems to work
Market Works perfect
Camcorder works
only issue i am having is my Facebook contacts will not sync.

reboot fixed the server errors for me, markets working

Any need to flash the wifi fix or the Roaming indicator? during the flashing?

Where is this kwiboo from i haven't seen it here on the forums yet?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App

So how do you use live wallpapers?

No GPS here. Keyboard from stock is a little wacky but I was able to install SwiftKey and shut off spelling correct and I am good to go. Seems quicker than the other ICS roms so far. Also initially data was super slow and some things were not connecting but after a quick reboot everything was fine.

Is it safe to install this image. I just want to see how ICS is.. I may even report any bugs if I find, if that helps. Or should I wait for a stable release. I can't wait to see ICS, that's why

Guys, a couple of clarifications for those who ask by private and here:
This is an ALPHA release, means testing, developers, unstable. Not recommended for people whitout a minimum modding/development/rom playing experience.
I cannot work on other phones for a simple reason, i dont have one to test and the trial and error method is not an option (too many things can went wrong..)
All working features will be added to the first post (if is not there, is not working)
donate link is in the left side below my name (usual location on XDA)
Hope this covers all the questions.
Cheers
The colors problem is fixed? Or still we have the orange pattern?
Looking forward to re-igniting my (now)dormant passion for the good old SGS!
All the best!
I just had a little fun experimenting.
1) can you check the version of the kernel for I9000. Neither touchscreen ril worked when I installed. Swiping didn't work and my sim was never accessed.
2) I would not just try this as it might not work for everyone. I was able to install the system as an update to my cm7 installation. It has a nice update system where it converts contacts and calendar events to the ics standard. After it finished my phone froze and needed a restart. However after booting again, all my apps were still installed and angry birds worked. Looked a bit weird in those colours and swiping wasn't working at that point.
Oh and the colour issue seems to be like an overlay more than anything else. Menus that flicker show correct colours behind them. (If you bring up the power menu, the desktop behind it as it flickers is in the correct colouring). Or maybe the colouring and flickering are linked and it only appears like an overlay. (Fyi, hw acceleration may not help this. I used non hw accelerated roms in the past and there was no flickering on them like there is in this port).
Anyway its pretty exciting to be playing around with ics.
Edit: anyone wanting to test this should do a nandroid backup. I restored mine after testing and its as thought I never had ics installed (aka completely successful). Backup the nandroid on your pc tho. I am sure there will be work done on the sdcard which in theory could get wiped. (And many backups are a great idea)

Is safe, only do a nandroid of your actual rom/mod.
You must have your actual stock rom (odin one) with your pit, for unistall this rom.
Ps: really sorry for my basic english

Kernel for i9000 does not have the ril inside, ril is on the last image i've uploaded, you need to download and install the lastest image (first post) and then the i9000 kernel.
Its true that the negative color its a androidGLES problem, but the only working (so far) software GLES is the one that cames with the emulator, so enabling the hardware video chip will fix the color (since it is going to be rendered on real hardware and not in the softGLES)

havent tried gnow but can confirm no sounds work at all
and i got SU from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1742522&highlight=su
and flashed it and it seems to work
also installed apex launcher and it works so far
care to post some pics or video
+1 on sounds firefox is working
here are some screens
Good job on getting this working
Its not too bad, its a lot like when we first got ICS. It appears as so HWA isnt there, all the animations and screen movements lag a few miliseconds (but you can see it). Typing it does this too.
But, everything works otherwise besides sound (in working list) and browser (in not working list) for me. A great proof of concept, good work!
Very cool proof of concept! Booted up fine and all. Is anyone not getting responses from Google voice/search? It transcribes it fine, but the icon keeps spinning and no results come back for anything. Or is that filed under the 'google now crashing' report?

My correction, Google voice queries work fine if you launch it from the G icon in the app launcher. Cool! not sure how to enable Google Now cards and stuff though.

I might have a fix for mass storage. Will report back in a bit.

I am currently running CM 7.2 RC1 by WillingMagic, and noticed that Willing said on Twitter that support for the 551 is being dropped since he doesn't have this phone anymore. So, I decided to look for other roms. And ran into... THIS! a stable Cyanogenmod rom, what a surprise. The question, therefore would be, as I'm currently running WillingMagic's Cyano port, do I have to wipe data whenever I flash this one? I ask this because I've read that when flashing from one build of cyanogen to another there's no need to wipe data. But since these are different ports... There's no harm in asking!
Thanks in advance.
Thanks will try it asap.....

i think there will not be any problem if you didnt clear cache and data..

This is too much greatness... Didn't test everything, but so far, it's the smoother I've ever had in this phone.
Ajay, thanks a lot.
Cool, now I gotta dig out my 5510 and check this out.
EDIT: Wow, the nightly version is definitely very zippy. Never would have though the I5510 could be this quick.
EDIT#2: It's good that you leave overclocking to the users. I tried setting 806MHz but it froze when I locked and then tried to unlock it.
The function automatic brightness doesn't work... but it is a very good Rom.
BTW: Now released CM10 for Galaxy Mini ,can you port it?
Sent from my GT-I5510 using xda app-developers app
i have problems with internet connection in my college . so it will take time . and cm10 porting will be difficult
i will try.
I will try this rom Will post for feedback and found bug.

I hope you will continue the dev for cm9 by willing
EDIT : i read in our google group that there is a problem with this rom in link2sd.?
Or we can still use the link2sd to transfer the app in sd

[DEV][ROM][JB 4.2.2][Unofficial] CM10.1.0 RC2 [30/05/2013]

CM 10.1.0 RC2 code base has been released and here it is for your flashing pleasure!
DISCLAIMER:
I am new to android development so more of a builder than a developer at the moment. So please do BACK UP your phone before you get started. If you know how to fix an issue in the ROM then feedback is more than appreciated. Bug reports are welcome, however please understand that I probably won't be able to figure out the solution without help. You can expect that CM code updates will be rolled into this ROM as these come out though.
For those of you looking for Skype audio this ROM does not yet fix it BUT I have tried the tinyalsa_audio stuff from Adam77Root and that does get Skype working just fine, but then it messes up your phone audio to where you don't hear anything or send anything out about 3/4 of the time. So we're getting close but not quite there yet... Oh and bluetooth calling was not fixed when skype worked, so there's something else wrong there...
RC1 was accidentally released with the tinyalsa_audio driver.. So this is RC2 with the "correct" libaudio which means skype is broken but calls work...
Using CWM:
1) BACK UP your current ROM!!!
2) Preform wipe / factory reset
3) Flash the ROM: cm-10.1-RC2-20130530-UNOFFICIAL-i927.zip (MD5 = 2e65e45bdc7539d5260062abdf6cd1cd) Mirror 1
4) Optionally flash GAPPS: gapps-jb-20130427-nonneon-tonyp.zip (MD5 = 13fc57e24ead77ec2613efd643af3800)
Stuff that I've noticed that looks to be fixed / has changed since M3:
- Moved over to KickAss kernel and battery life now totally rocks!
- Picture editing in the gallery is also working fine now.
- HDR photo capture looks to be working just fine also...
- Lock screen lag much less noticeable, but I do sometimes need to press the button twice...
Known issues without workarounds:
- Audio in skype is there but plays back at wrong rate (slower than normal, woman's voice sounds like a man's)
- I was not able to get my two bluetooth headsets working but bluetooth GPS works fine
Known issues with workarounds:
- GPS works great and fast but reports 0-2 satellites only, NMEA data stream seems to be incorrect, so parsing this data may be touchy in some apps
- Pictures taken by camera are shown rotated 90 degrees (then can be manually rotated within the gallery app)
Please don't report any of the above known issues. General CM 10.1 bug tracking thread <- Please check here before posting a bug report!
I'm sure there are others but I've not noticed them yet. I don't use a hands free but I can confirm the bluetooth does work with an external GPS for instance.
Change log:
20130530 - Corrected call audio issue and CM 10.1.0 RC2 code base
20130525 - Moved to KickAss kernel and CM 10.1.0 RC1 code base
20130503 - Fixed gallery pic editing, update OTA image
20130502 - Combined LiteKernel built 20130418, broke the gallery pic editing, added OTA support
20130417 - Combined LiteKernel built 20130414 into the ROM, no need to flash kernel seperately
20130416 - New LiteKernel build by bubor
20130415 - WiFi fix by bubor applied
20130412 - M3 code release, still using LiteKernel from 20130222
20130405 - Rolled back non-monthly code updates to revert this back to the original M2 code release. Corrected build environment to generate proper boot.img, No longer using the one from the LiteKernel which means that the LiteKernelManager is not messing around with settings now.
20130404 - Used the 2013/02/23 branch of the device tree and also re-synced with the CyanogenMod source. SD card mappings now match the CM10.1 later builds so recommend wiping and re-installing fresh for this one,
20130402 - Build LiteKernel into the ROM so no need to flash the kernel separately
Credits:
- KickButtowski for the kick ass KickAss kernel
- tonyp for the non-neon GAPPS package
- bubor: WiFi tether fix and new kernel that fixed data usage, image editing in galley and google now hotword detection as well as new GAPPS
- Adam77Root for the libaudio code that fixed the camera audio in video recordings
- yohan4ws for pointing me towards Adam77Root's libaudio stuff
- gtmaster303: CM 10.1 bug tracking thread maintenance
- The-Covenant team: For the device tree and vendor proprietary files
- dman3285: For the tutorial on building CM10 and CM10.1 from source, and all your work getting this setup
- thegreatergood: For the LiteKernel source and binary
If I've missed anyone apologies in advance and just let me know and credit will be added...
And here is the ling to my device tree should anyone want to follow along. Seperate branch available for the tinyalsa_audio for the more adventurous ones.

Correct - If you flash the LiteKernel on top of the ROM then the WiFi will work.

This is pretty much just a new build with all the upstream commits, correct?
I suggest everyone review my bug tracker thread before posting bugs, as these builds are one in the same rom...

Agreed.
This build is based on:
- CM 10.1 M2 release code base (released 4 Mar 2013 so the Feb ROMs are based off the M1 release)
- The-Covenant device tree and proprietary files which I assume have not been touched since end of Feb
- thegreatergood's LiteKernel binary which is the same as the other ROMs
So any issues that were related to the kernel or device specific stuff will still be there, but CM based issues may have been resolved. Case in point the audio playback lag is now fixed on my phone.
YMMV of course!
I am doing right now a backup of my current rom. I really want to see if skype and magic jack works now. I will post back in some hours.
Is bluetooth handsfree fixed in this build?
Re: [DEV][ROM][JB 4.2.2][Unofficial] CM10.1-M2 3/31/2013

In my test both headsets connected fine but one gave no sound and the other gave me only static. Not sure if the mic was working on either one. I don't usually use bluetooth so can't say for sure but I think this is still an issue on this build at this time unfortunately.

You won't "need" to but the crashing keyboard gets annoying fast. So installation of a keyboard from the play store (I used the hacker's keyboard) is a must to make this usable. now if there is a "fix" available for the stock keyboard on the JB builds then let me know what it is and I'll see about adding it to the ROM by default.
As for the memory cards, the internal is mounted as /mnt/emmc and the external is mounted as /mnt/sdcard. Not sure if that answers your question...

I was talking about these patches http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2067954
there is a patch for swap the external sd with the internal, and another for the keys in the keyboard.
Edit: i think that the keyboard patch no needed. But the Patch to swap the the external SD as internal, doesnt work. The rom never boot when i install it.
Another thing, its me, or the wifi is very very slow? i am downloading skype from the market and is taking so much.
Sorry if i wrote something bad :/
Just corrected the link to the LiteKernel, you may want to download this new link and re-apply to make sure you have the latest kernel installed. Trying to get this built into the ROM to avoid any further confusion...
Ok, i will try it again, but the skype/magicjack audio issue still exist
Just posted a new ROM build that now has the LiteKernel-20130222 built in. No need to flash separately. CM code is the same so no change there. If you already downloaded the 20130331 version and installed to 20130222 kernel then no need to re-download.
CM10.1-M3 release should be coming out shortly so do expect another update soon...

[ROM][4.3][UNOFFICIAL][EXPERIMENTAL] CyanogenMod 10.2

Hi,
I am starting this thread because i have build CM10.2 from the CM10.2 repository and got it working.
I will post the progress here until XplodWild has started with the official development of CM10.2 and when he is releasing official or nightly builds.
This thread is just for those people who would like to have a preview of CM10.2.
All the things i did to make the build work came from the TF700 repository. So all the credits go to them. Offcourse all the changes i have made have been submitted to Gerrit.
@XpLoDWilD : If you do not agree with this thread, please feel free to remove this thread.
**********************************
Since the nightly builds have started I will not post any regular builds in this thread.
However since this is an experimental thread, I will post some builds now and then with some changes that I think would be nice to test
***********************************
What is working:
- Almost everything. Thanks to all the work of the TF300T CM team
- camera (flaky because focal force closes)
- dock is working

I have no problems with this. I have root and adb. If i do a adb shell i get a normal prompt, but i can su to root.
Did you enable root in the developer settings? Also i so get the offline statement, but that is when my laptop is not yet accepted on the tablet to be able to connect.
Hi
Bugs:
Focal keeps crashing when you record video and try to make picture, or try to make a picture with front cam
SU is installed without SU binary, binary cannot be updated, so no SU
If there is more than one screen of apps in drawer, when next app is installed trebuchet will crash if drawer is opened.
Overall, excellent work! Keep up.

Rom works great. The only issue I've had is spotty Wifi connection. I'm sitting 6 feet away from router and I only get 3 bars of wifi reception. It also disconnects often. I'm hoping it will stabilize.

And I always read that on cm, pa, aokp, pac man some keys on dock are not working but here every button works, awesome
EDIT: I dot have su ights? Any app wont take or give them...
If I understand correctly, su is handled differently with 4.3. I think I saw that chainfire or maybe it was koush got an app to get su like last week. This probably means that apps need to rewrite how they run su. Or something. I know that cyanogen(Steve kondik) was suggesting that instead of doing the su method, developers could rewrite their apps to extend the framework to make more powerful apps that don't need root. Sounded very interesting.

You are right
In Android 4.3 SELinux is default (Security Enhanced Linux). At the moment su does not work the way it was. It has problems. CM10.2 is still in pre-nightly stage so problems like this can occur.
