Finally my Mugen Power 3200mAh battery arrives from Hong Kong !!!!!!!
So far, im very much satisfied with it.
Running CheckRom V5 right now that gives me awesome battery life.Now boosted up even more with the Mugen Power Battery.

Now the phone feels more high quality.i feel like im holding a sturdy HTC phone.
Im very happy with the quality Mugen provides always.

i have been using Mugen Power batteries past 2 years now
i have had no issues with my previous phones.

Yeah, Mugen makes quality batteries... It is not some 10$ ****

Urghh, all that extra thickness on the phone and expense for an extra half days usage (according to the real world usage stated on the youtube video).

I've got it and it's more than doubled my phone's life... with Data and auto sync always on.
It's more like a 4200 mah battery.
I get about 20 hours with Data, auto sync & Bluetooth always on
Wifi is on for about 10 - 12 hours a day also.
I got 65 Hours on a single charge with data off the whole time.
I had wifi on for about a third of the time.

Im considering buying this battery, but from my experience third party batteries are usually crap(momax for example), and this one is 70 euro. I will buy it only if it really is full 3200 mah. So I am waiting for some kind of test.

Mugen are the only third party battery I trust, Had one of their batteries in my old HTC Hero and it was fantastic, lasted me 4+days on a single charge (I could stretch it to 6 days with data/wifi off and just texts and calls).
I just have to 'lol' at people saying "ooooh its so expensive compared to other ones!!" and "It will blow up your phone!!!111!!!1!"
Its expensive because its not cheap nasty [email protected] like 99% of all the other aftermarket batteries. It may not be the full 3200mAh but based on my experience with the HTC Hero version I wouldn't be surprised if it was still 3000+
It wont blow up the phone, its Mugen.
A google for 'Mugen Battery Review' is all people need to do to find out how highly Mugen is rated

Momaxes is certainly not crap, Tids2k already measured the capacity of the extended Expower to be right on the money, 2680mah out of the rated 2700mah. At the very least it's better then the spider-foot/adinda/oem extended batteries (Rating 3200mah, real cap 2400mah).
Cover is not confidence inspiring though, I have to admit. It HAS survived a couple of drops before though.
On the other hand, nobody seems to have tested the Mugen for total cap yet. Holding on my purchase until someone does.

Watching that video of the increased phone thickness, even this phone is thinner

I think it's better to have 2 or three genuine samsung batteries than having 1 gigantic battery that sacrifice our phone's slimness..

Can you advise what is the total charging time from 10% to fully charged with this extended battery?
The original one takes about 3 hours to fully charge from 10%, using power socket charger (not USB) and with data packet/wifi/GPS all turned off.

What point are the people posting in every single extended battery thread about slimness or ugliness trying to prove? You are providing no information in regards to extended batteries which the post is about. Thanks to the public demanding slim phones we all have poor battery life. Shut up please.
If the phone was twice as thick you could have reasonable battery life and it would still be easy to handle and pocket, why you need a phone thats >10mm thick is beyond me.

see ? Thats my 2000mah battery, dont see much difference, show me screen on time. (those big drops are order and chaos gameplay, pretty good for 2000mah eh ? + The total screen on time after three days was 5 hours.)

Im sorry for my scepticism... I just saw things many people overlook, the momax 3500mah battery is actually 2400mah and double the size, the other 1900mah batteries are really 1300-1400mah. Only the samy batteries match the rated capacity, my 1650 mah stock battery is 1614mah and my 2000mah battery is 2035mah according to my discharge tests. Thats why I dont trust 3rd party batteries. I just dont see small company squeezing same or more capacity into same sized battery because I am pretty sure they cant invest as much money into battery manufacturing process as samsung and thats why sammy batteries actually match the real capacities.

How can i check the actual capacity of my battery?
This battery does last at least 2 - 3 times longer than the stock Samsung Battery.

Cheap aftermarket batteries have hit ebay!

Looks like the cheapo aftermarket battery manufacturers have got the Note battery reverse engineered and up for sale on ebay.

They're advertised as 2600 mAh (100 more than factory) and average about $5 apiece, with many listings including an external/wall charger for them.
I've purchased these for several phones in the past and it's hard to beat the value. They're waaay cheaper than authentic batteries, and my experience has been that they have nearly the same capacity as factory, though they don't last for as many charges. Still good for several months though. However, the last one I got for my GSII wouldn't charge when in the phone. If I plugged the charger into the GSII while one of those cheapo batteries was in it, it made a weird sound and the phone rebooted; it wouldn't charge.
I'm going to go ahead and purchase one of these listings and I'll update this thread with my experiences. If anyone else gets one before me, please post here which one you got and whether or not it'll charge while in the phone.

I ordered some - they use super slow shipping, but oh well.

Actually, I just tested one today. I bought some of the batteries with a charger from one of the Chinese sellers and those are still on the way, but I bought another one from a US seller so I wouldn't have to wait. That one arrived yesterday, I charged it last night by holding it into an external charger with a rubber band, and put it in the phone today.
It's difficult to tell how it performed since my usage today wasn't that typical, but I'd say it probably had a capacity of 70%-80% of the stock battery. It lasted ~16 hrs with fairly heavy usage in the morning, followed by light usage in the afternoon, then a few hours in my friend's metal-walled shop, which usually rapidly eats batteries due to searching for signal.
I felt like I could notice the battery draining faster than the stock one normally does, but I'm hoping the capacity will go up with some charge/discharge cycles. This was the first charge and discharge. Regardless, I could definitely live with %75 capacity considering the price.
This battery is one of the black ones with white label. Not very scientific, but I only noticed 2 styles in all of the cheapo sellers' pics, and the other one is white. Those are the ones I have on the way.

If it's really giving you 70-80 in the first charge it may get as good as 80-85% of the stock one after five or six charging cycles ,and that ,for the ridiculous price you paid i say its a damn good deal.
Please review the white ones once you have them and thanks for the info.

No doubt they will, after all, the measures are standart so if the battery is made to fit inside the note it will fit in the slot of the charger.

Best value all in all, is the 3 batteries+wall charger pack, which I bought for the equivalent of little less than 10eur, before even buying the phone to save on the shipping time, but they are stll on their way.
Same kind of pack was glorious on my HD2, and the OEM's after a couple years last about half of the original battery (on android which has the suckiest battery management, got up to 4days with either original and OEM on Wm6.5), but oh well.

Just got some of these chinese batteries, the quality is horrendous, to the point I'm scared to use them.
You can actually tell that they have used a slightly small battery and put spacers in to bulk it out to fit the note!

I've had some time with both white and black batteries now. They're definitely not as good as the OEM. The white seem like it might be a little worse than the black, but that might be just my imagination.
My first guess was that the capacity of the black one was maybe 70%-80% that of the OEM, but that was a rough guess. Someone in another thread speculated that they're taking other batteries and just repackaging them to fit into the Note. I made a spacer for using my GSII battery in my Note (thread here on it), and the performance of these aftermarket batteries is kind of similar to when I was using the GSII battery but maybe a little better. The GSII battery is 1650 mAh, which is 66% of the Note's OEM battery.
In the past when I got cheap knock-off batteries for other phones, they usually performed a little less than OEM but not that much. They didn't last for as many cycles, though. I may build a capacity testing circuit soon and get some actual numbers...
Still, for $5 it's worth keeping one in your back pocket when going out for awhile, or taking 2 or 3 charged ones with you on a weekend trip so you don't have to carry your charger and search for outlets.

Mine arrived yesterday (black ones) and after their third charge they are giving me around 60 % of the juice of the original one.
Regarding the ridiculous times to charge it, it is because the ultra cheap chargers they send are 250-300 miliamp output (probably less in reality)
I use a universal battery charger that gives me 1 amp output so the battery is fully charged in about two and a half hours (a little less because the battery is probably 2100 or 2200 miliamps instead of 2500)

In another post someone suggested weighing their ebay batteries to determine if they were OEMs or not, I weighed mine. Results:
OEM: 49.35 grams
white cheapo: 45.1 g (91% of OEM)
black cheapo: 39.2 g (79% of OEM)
Clearly they're not going to perform as well as the OEM with less stuff in there, though I wouldn't necessarily equate the % weight difference to % capacity difference. But Samsung wouldn't be adding extra weight to the phone for no reason.

I just got 28 hrs moderate use out of one of the white ones.
I've installed Battery Monitor Widget Pro and I'm going to cycle through the OEM battery and one of the white ones for several cycles, letting some statistics build up, then in a week or so I'll post the results.

I bought mine a year ago in amazon. Brand and model, Ansmann digicharger vario pro. (Be careful, there is another version that is not the pro that only gives 500 miliamp output)
The good thing is that is one accessory you can still use when you change your phone in the future

Hey guys, I took the plunge and bought a set of these batteries from eBay, thought i'd share the findings with you guys!
Seller posted quickly and I received the batteries within a few days, fit the phone perfectly, lack NFC as expected and seem to last longer than the stock battery! Even better they haven't exploded in my pocket
These are for the i9250 (GSM) model.

Overall I'd have to say I am very impressed with these batteries! only £10 for two batteries and a charger is a steal in my eyes, and I would highly recommend a set to anyone looking for some extra juice out of their nexus!

Yeah I can see it being a top feature in other countries where there is a NFC infrastructure in place, but here in the UK we have barely anything to use NFC with, so I'm fine to go without!

I also broke down and bought two 1900 mah batteries from ebay. Paid 13$ for them and a charging dock. Was looking for Anker but couldn't find them.

I emailed anker about offering a slim extended battery for the i9250. They said they plan to have one but didn't know when. No word on if it is nfc capable

Am I the only one having problems with these chinese batteries?
Well no actual problems since I dont own one, but still: I dont trust 'em. Not one bit.
I bought a >500€ phone and I wont install a cheap replacement just to save some bucks. Worst case these things ruin the phone or even worse hurt me...
Really cant understand it to be honest. No risk I want to take just to save some money and gain a few mAh at best.

So how is the batterylife after some days of usage?
What about the charger, getting hot loading the original battery?
Did you notice something negative about them now?

Hopefully those that against the so call chinese batteries, please rephase them as non original batteries, many batteries are chinese made, even some samsung galaxy nexus batteries are made in china, and nokia, motorola, even HTC.

we've had iphone and nokia that exploded, should we all not buy nokia's and iphones.
As long as these batteries had pass the QC, are certified safe and meet certain requirements.

The battery life is if anything getting better! No problems with the batteries as of now, i'll update the OP if anything happens!
The charger is great! really useful and it does not get hot while charging both the original and non original batteries.

Thanks op with try to buy 2 batteries and try them out. Want to buy the 2000 mAh with cover but expensive.

I've had two chargers die on me, the second one died with a big bang and tripped the circuit out leaving carbon scoring on the cable. I have been refunded for the charger but now have no way of charging the batteries except for putting them in the phone so they're next to useless (would only be of use as quick charge spares when low on power to swap out).

Seriously????? Obviously when referring to "chines batteries" people are referring to the cheap eBay crap. Despite whether they work or not or explode or not do you REALLY think they go through "QA" or "certification?" These are (usually) cheap Chinese knockoffs where if you are lucky you might get what they are actually rated at but if you believe these $3 and $5 batteries actually go through any sort of "QA" you are hallucinating. They put what they want on the labels but don't believe for a second any agency in China tests or certifies them for anything and even if they did I wouldn't trust them for a second.
If you or anyone wants to buy $5 batteries, that's perfectly fine, I've owned some myself, but don't think for a second because they say "certified or tested" on them that they really are.
I've bought cheap camera batteries that look identical to real $80 Nikon batteries but believe me, other than looks they don't even come close.
Buy cheap get cheap.

then it's you who to blame, you get what you pay for, and don't expect a well known brand for $3-$5, and you should know better, stuff like batteries and medicine, alway buy from people and place you trust.
that being said, there are many batteries, not brands like samsung, sonyericsson etc, but brands from china and hong kong like yoobao, speed, yperfect, momax and goki are cheaper alternative, that do go through certification and QC, so don't treat all chinese batteries cheap knock off, they are not fakes, just third party alternative.

Chinese certification?

I bought these about two weeks ago, and I am very impressed with the batteries. They have provided consistently longer battery life than the original, whether it will hold onto the charge after a few hundred cycles is a different matter.
However, I would recommend getting a different charger. The one supplied blew a fuse because it was heating up so much. It might be a faulty one, but given how cheap these are, I would urge caution with these chargers.

True up on 6200 mAh batteries, comments?

There are seems to be quite a few choices for those "double" capacity batteries from Anker, Hyperion, QCell and Mugen where first three go for about $20 with battery cover while Mugen goes for $105 including leather pouch. What makes Mugen 5x more expensive? Can't be a leather pouch And how are those Anker/Hyperion/QCell compare in quality? Most have positive review, except I found this slamming Bad review about Hyperion putting fake labels to cover up their true capacity.
Plus, there is also Seidio Innocell rated at 4500 mAh, and I trust Seidio brand. That made me believe these so called 6200-6400 mAh batteries could be really 4500 mAh while "6200" number is used as marketing technique to promote "double capacity". Which also explains how Zero Lemon 9300 is so humongous because it's truly "triples" the capacity of the battery based on its super extended size, so I have more faith in Zero Lemon about being true to their numbers.
Any thoughts on this?
Also, if I would get various samples of these batteries and want to run test/review, are there any good apps for a true capacity monitoring? I assume any new battery have to be charged to full, and than discharged to phone shutdown, and charged back up for a true calibration, right?

I trust Seidio and Mugen. I have tried Anker but am still undecided until I test it for a 3 month minimum. The reason why I usually choose Seidio is because they don't overstate capacity and they usually release a case for their extended battery, which I haven't seen from the other guys. As for Zero Lemon... They are the new kid on the block and will have to prove themselves. Their TPU back cover/Case is definitely thinking outside the box, however they might have to diversify with some other options.

I have battery monitor pro and what I get from estimated mah is about 6200 from my anker battery. I dont know how accurate it is.

Have you tried it with stock battery to confirm? Would be a good benchmark.
Also forgot to ask, which battery monitor pro are you using, GSam or another one?

Most of the third party battery makers lie. If you're feeling generous you can call it "over-rating". And yes, Sedio and Mugen have been busted doing it in the past. I have no idea what the current state is with them. IMO, they are not worth the money. The only place I consider worthy of trusting for real data is http://www.batteryreview.info. And only because their results match my own testing. There is no way to know for sure if you don't test outside the phone on a known load. The battery makers know this, and know they probably won't be called on it.
Does that mean the $20 battery that gets 5500 rather than 6200 is a bad deal? Not necessarily. That's up to the buyer. I do wish sites like Amazon would require truth in advertising though.

I'll try it with my OEM battery and report here. I use battery monitor widget pro. It has estimated mah based of how long you charge it. Mine reports 6342 with anker.

That batteryreview.info had some of the most poorly written, unscientific reviews I have ever read. And, if that's how you test, then you are in the same boat.
Regarding amazon, I wish they would allow me to buy back the 15 min I just wasted reading thru the batteryreview website.

Well, his testing method on a paper sounds legit and he uses all the right tools for measurement. But his incoherent reviews are all over the place. Needs a better and more consistent review format, plus having links to Amazon where he gets a credit when you purchase the battery kind of takes away from credibility... If you decide to have unbiased independent review, stick to it without other agendas. He should just setup PayPal donation account to get funds to buy and review all the available batteries

I agree with the amazon links, I'd rather see a paypal donate etc.
As for the testing methodology, if you have specific concerns, point them out. He uses commercial test gear, I have a few different things. Some home-built and calibrated, and a couple RC battery testers that also verify cleanly against known data. While the guy's writing may leave something to be desired, the cells he has tested that I have also tested check out the same. I've also seen other sites that reference his that claim to have tested with the same results. For myself, I like to run multiple tests on different gear and average the results to get a final number, though they are within a few %. I also generally run tests at a few current levels.
I don't do much with it these days. I will post if I pick up a battery, but the stock one does ok for now. I did some tests on Vibrant, G2x, and Galaxy Nexus batteries. The stock were always at or above rating, the third party were all over the map. A couple of the third party batteries I took apart had cells with lower capacity markings on them, they did check out to those levels. I have no financial interest in any of it, other than as a user that doesn't like getting sold something that isn't what they told me it is. IMO it's no different than buying a gallon of gas, and getting 0.75 gallon. A few % difference I can be understanding about, >10% there is no excuse.
I might pick up a Zero Lemon, I'm interested in the huge capacity claim. If it tests out, I might even run it in my phone. Still a little unsure about the case/battery cover though.

Exactly, what I'm looking for in review - to be sure there is no more than 10% variation from advertised capacity. I also would love to see some battery aging results where it's retested after 3-4 months to see if performance stayed the same or degraded.
Regarding Zero Lemon, I exchanged a few emails with them yesterday, and they are taking case/battery VERY seriously!!! To the point where release of the battery is being pushed out (as it was mentioned in original Zero Lemon thread) so they can fix the fit of their current TPU case. Plus, they are considering designing a new rugged case. I'm glad they are listening to feedback of those who already tested their battery/case and not rushing just to get their product out of the door. Big props!

To really test aging, I think it would be best on a battery that had been used in a phone the whole time. Just to see the real effect of using it. You could set up an automated charge/discharge jig I suppose, but it might not be as good.
I like what you're saying about Zero Lemon. I hope they really do follow through with a great product. More battery is always welcome for me. I'd love to have the phone plugged in less.

So when i purchased my note II the very first thing i purchased was an extended battery.
i ended up purchasing the Hyperion 6200mAh from amazon as they have a little statement

so i took a gamble that NFC was going to be included on the case and it was! i had to bend the NFC prongs out on my phone a little to make it touch but after that it worked!
Now the battery i have easily gotten double the battery life out of. i got my phone all dialed in then took the regular battery to almost completely discharged.

as you can see i got about 16 hrs on the stock battery with about 3 hrs and some change of screen time.
The Hyperion battery did a heck of a lot better
Had 4 hrs of screen time on the Hyperion and same about of time off the charger, still 54% left.
Now the only drawback of the extended battery is the NFC location, i do have trouble getting it to pick up with other phones, i have on order a new NFC antenna and I am going to try relocating it to the back of the battery.

I've searched through the forums, but I wanted to hear some recent opinions. I'm looking to replace my oem 2100mah s3 battery with a 2200-2300 nfc capable battery from one of these three companies. I've looked through the reviews on amazon for all of these three replacements, but I can't decide between the three. Has anyone on here had good experiences with any of these brands specifically for an oem replacement battery (not extended)? Anker and ZeroLemon seem to have better reviews for their 2200mah batteries. I want to keep the replacement battery for at least 18 months. So longevity is important for me as many reviews say these batteries start dying quickly after 6 months.

So ordinarily, not having a Galaxy S3 yet, I wouldn't comment on a question like this. However, because you asked about longevity, I decided I did have some relevant experience that might be useful to you. For my Galaxy S 1 (Sprint Epic 4G), I bought an Anker 1800mah hour battery replacement pack containing two batteries and an external charger. I figured I'd use one in my phone and keep the other for a spare. But shortly thereafter, my wife and I upgraded to Samsung Galaxy S2s (Spring Epic 4G Touch), which happen to use the same battery as the S1. So we each took one of the Anker batteries and got rid of the stock ones, since the phones were bought used and their batteries were pretty well shot. It has been over two years since I made that purchase, and the battery life on both of those Ankers is still as good as the day I put them in. I can't see any degradation at all. So I would highly recommend getting Ankers. I am looking to upgrade to an S3 possibly, and that's what I intend to put in it.
Incidentally, although Anker sounds like an Asian name for a company, it's actually a US company founded by people from Google. So this isn't cheap import junk... the stuff actually works. I put their car chargers in both of my vehicles and my phones charge much faster now as well.

I've got an Anker in my S3 LTE as we speak, and they're pretty good. Have bought them previously too for older phones and have always lived up to the reviews.
Can't speak of the other makes you mention, but the Anker ones come with an 18 month guarantee.

I ended up going with a zerolemon 2300mAh model. It only has a 6 month warranty, but I imagine I'll know if I have a dud by then. Anker reviews seem to indicated that they die after about 8 months. I imagine the zerolemons might as well, but I saw far fewer reviews on amazon that stated this. I'm sure Anker makes a good product, but they seem to put a lot of effort into eliminating negative reviews on amazon and encouraging positive reviews by replacing faulty batteries out of the warranty period. That's just my impression.

My friend will come from US and i want to buy one of these batteries. Zerolemon 2300 mah or Anker 2200 mah which one do you recommend guys?

can you post some stats please? I am looking to buy a zerolemon 2300 as wellm thanks.

I don't have a stats app, but now I'm getting over a full day on a single charge. I get to 50% after light use from morning until 7pm. I can leave the phone on overnight without connecting to the charger and be at around 40% the next morning. So far, the zerolemon is doing very well.

I have the Anker one since August. Works wonderfully.

I have the anker 7200 since feb/march and its been giving me 2 days ( 8-10 hours screen time) .. Probably was better when I first got it but I can't complain on the battery life at all compared to stock.

Compared to 4.4.2 blekota S5 lite v10 there is A little battery drain about %10 much more. Android System eating lots of it Like 4.4.2 as you can see. Screen eats %22, apps eat %69.

i dont know about brand new stock battery but there are a lot of fake battery on amozon and ebay. be careful.

I've had the Hyperion 7000 mAh battery for a year now.

I've had the anker 2200mAh battery. Dunno if it's just my usage but the battery just expanded in size. So much so that it doesn't even power on my phone anymore.

As soon a battery begins expanding, it's time to buy another, not try to use it, that's dangerous. For your safety, discard it.
