best place to purchase it - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Where's the best place to purchase it? with the cheapest price?
I know negri-electronics has a coupon which brings it down to $685, is that my best bet?

At Negri, I think the "VZsucks" coupon might be over... if so the $35 off coupon is probably still up. That brings it to like $700 ish.
Clove and Handtec are around the same price. Like $685 - $695. They have foreign transaction fees if you buy with most credit cards though.

Good luck! I became obsessed with this phone quick, it's difficult to say no.

I just bit the bullet and paid the extra cash to get it full retail from Verizon. It only ended up about $721 after taxes. Not the cheapest phone purchase I've ever made, but with flimsy Samsung plastic exteriors I figured I'd rather have a local warranty ready to go.

We GSM users don't have the option. We can't go to Verizon and buy a off-contracted one and pop a AT&T/T-Mobile SIM card in there. It won't work. The CDMA/LTE version is for Verizon only.
It may be plastic but it holds pretty well in the hand and its build quality is pretty good.

Brain fart! I should have realized he was referring to a GSM version.
The phone does feel solid, but I'm hard on my phones and this is one I'll probably hang on to for a good year or so. I also don't believe in ruining a good looking phone with cases or screen protectors, and Verizon's insurance is good about getting a refurb to you the same day if you drop it. I haven't had to use it yet, but, well...

Me.

[Q] Cheapest place to get Galaxy Nexus for someone in US?

For someone in the United States trying to get the HSPA version of the Galaxy Nexus, where would be it be the cheapest to buy from (after tax, shipping, VAT, etc)?
I've been trying to get my hands on the GNexus, but paying 750+ USD just doesn't seem worth it (even if it won't come out in the US for a month or two if at all). Can we compile a list to compare the prices of all the retailers (online preferably) that are selling the phone?

That's still a bit pricey... about one hundred more than what I am willing to pay (I got both the Nexus One and Nexus S for <$600). Is that the cheapest price anywhere?
Does it come with a warranty or insurance?

This costs more than the Nexus One or Nexus S. You won't find it for cheaper for a while.

Unless they start selling them in the US directly at retailers, you won't find one for under $600 any time soon. Right now Handtec is the cheapest at just under $700 as others have said. When calculating your price keep in mind that some credit card companies charge a foreign transaction fee of around 2%-3%.

That's it! I'm sleeping under a rock! Someone wake me up when the Galaxy Nexus is under $600! I have nothing else to live for! :'(
ok, got it... £450 is a pretty reasonable price to me, since i'm gonna be in the usa next week i'm thinking to buy it, so i'm wondering if i'll need to pay any import duty...
Youre also paying the premium of it being imported and the satisfaction of having it early. Its not a high rollers club thing. Its just reality at the moment. The more my atrix rebooted the more i want to throw this phone out the window even though its a nice and capable phone. My nexus hopefully will be here by friday. Oh yes it will be mine.
Sent from my samsung gt i9250 which is in the wrong country.
They come out in Canada on the 8th so there should be more of them out there so the price should (theoretically) go down
No. Probably still looking at $700usd with all the fees, shipping and taxes. Some of us thought about that but the savings are marginal.

Here is how to get the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for up to as little as $465 in the US:
1. Sign-up for MrRebates.com to get 2% cash back from Expansys-USA.
2. The phone on Expansys USA is $750, but you can use the discount code 20OFFLS to knock the price to $730. (It has to be a US seller in order for you to be able to use step 3.)
2. Since you use MrRebates.com, you get 2% cash back, which brings the effetive price down $715.
3. You can use the Price Protection feature of your credit card to get price drops of up to $250 reimbursed, but only if the transaction was in US Dollars. So if, within 60 days, you see the phone advertised in the US for less than $730, the credit card will give you the difference.
4. This might reduce your total damage to $465.
We may not see a full $250, but I venture to say that a $100 price drop is virtually guaranteed.
Other have mentioned to use BigCrumbs.com instead for 4% cash-back. Their reviews are not quite as good as those of MrRebates.com though.

Interesting about the price protection... i never knew that. I did some quick googles on it, and it seems most credit cards don't have it anymore, or the restrictions make it useless.

Your "total damage" will only be as low as the cheaper one you could get in the US. And since the phone will never be sold for $465 unlocked in the US, you'll never get a full $250 back. Like you said, a more reasonable price we'll see for the US unlocked version is about $600.

For example this one: http://www.capitalone.com/cash.
ebates.com has 6% cash back from expansys-usa again today so i ordered mine for $750 - $20 coupon - 6% ebates cash back - 1% credit card cash back = $678.9 in the end (hopefully). oh and if you're a new ebates.com user you get a $5 cash back bonus.
Thanks for all of the tips everyone. I think I may pull the trigger today and get the Galaxy Nexus from Expansys.

Is it still the cheapest to buy GNex from Clove.uk now?

I am in US so shipping from there is <$700 now,
is it still the cheapest now?
Will it be cheaper after 12/9 that the canadian version had come out?
Who knows if you'll have to pay customs fees... I paid the extra $50 ($764) to go with a US reseller but they're being sketchy at the moment... See my post (Negri Electronics is being sketchy).
I'd say go US but maybe not Negri.. I'm sure everything is fine but still... You could pay more than you think with credit card international fees and customs fees depending on the shipping company they use.
EDIT -- I JUST GOT MY SHIPMENT NOTIFICATION!! WHOOOOO

International pricing is pretty firm. The UK prices aren't going to be effected by whatever happens in the rest of the world. A lot of folks in the UK and EU buy their phones outright so demand is what drives pricing. The SGS2 stayed pretty firm for about four months and then started to drop a bit. It's still over $500 having been out since May. If you're importing, don't look for bargains and sales because they don't exist (through legitimate resellers). I've bought from both Clove and Handtec and was pleased with both.
Found this: http://welectronics.com/gsm/Samsung/SAMSUNG_NEXUS-PRIME-TITANIUM-SILVER.HTML These guys are located in Chicago and selling for $724.99. Supposedly these prices are wholesale to the public. Anyone ever dealt with this retailer before?
how much is it gonna be in Canadian GSM version?
I imported from clove.uk to the US and they were great service. Shipped on a Wednesday, got here that Friday.
Though I must say, it shipped with DHL and the packaging was kinda sketchy for a $700 dollar electronic device. It was in a plastic DHL bag and the box the phone came in was just wrapped in fine-bubble bubble wrap. No damage and it works fine, but still kinda irked me when I saw it.

I ordered two GNs from clove which arrived today. No import duties. I have a thread in this forum showing the current policy regarding importing cellphones to the US (with documentation from the corresponding government agencies).
As for the packaging, I too am a little disappointed that they only used bubble wrap and a dhl bag. The corners of the boxes where slightly damaged; however, the phone itself was fine.
I preordered mine from Handtec and the experience was awesome. I ended up paying around $700 total and somehow the phone got to me within one day!!! It was awesome to see that tracking from Fedex on the day it was shipped telling me it would be at my doorstep by the very next day before 10:30am... now that's fast, especially coming from Europe!

Popular Electronics, which is right next door to Overseas Electronics has it for $699 in store - cash only. I plan to go there this week and buy myself one. $700 is the cheapest I've seen it go for. I've bought a phone and sold a phone from them before so they're legit.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/108564/IMG_4995.PNG
I decided to email Popular electronics about the Galaxy Nexus and it seems like they're willing to bargain about the tax. Chicago has ridiculous tax at 9.75% so the phone would have been $767.15. With a simple email, they were willing to do $710 flat. I'm sure when a little more persuasion, I could get them to $700 or throw in a free case. Just a heads up to all the Chicagoans. Probably pick this up this weekend.

Don't you find it kinda shady that they're cash only and are willing to negotiate to remove sales tax? lol. I'm sure its fine. Just sayin'.
That does seem odd that they have a cash only policy. Really weird for an electronics store. Maybe they have a no receipt policy too.
But back on topic, I just bought my nexus from clove last night. Order is processing and now it's just a waiting game!
Sent from my LG-P999
When paying with cash, it's always considered under the table. They probably don't file their taxes legally so it helps them when people pay in cash. Good for both parties. They're a small electronics store, nothing huge but they do carry the latest phones.
Not sure about the receipt policy, probably isn't one but as long as it's brand new, I'll be happy.

You forget about the third party. The government and all society that utilizes tax money. (Including yourself)
Taxes are there for a reason and should not be avoided by dodgy business practices.
I would check the phone out in-store to reduce your risk of having to return the device since you may not be able to.

Of course it will be checked.
Tell that to Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle and so on. They all dodge taxes. What they're doing it is legal but it's effects you also. It always seems like when a little business does it, they should be shunned by their practice. The way they're doing it is probably illegal but it's still dodging taxes.
http://publicintelligence.info/google-3-billion-tax-loophole/
Don't assume that paying with cash is always considered under the table.
Another reason for the cash policy is that is removes the credit card processing fees for the transaction. Depending on their processor, it should be around $0.25 + 2% of the transaction amount. So on a $700 transaction, that is roughly $14.25.
(American Express' fees are around 3.5%, so the cost on that transaction is around $25).
If you are a retailer, that extra credit card fee hurts quite a bit. Think about that the next time you buy a pack of gum with your credit card.
http://truecostofcredit.com/378767
That being said, in this instance their's a good chance that this is under the table. I would much rather buy the phone on my Amex and get the additional warranty they provide. Also, why not just import it from clove for $670 rather than paying $700 cash? Makes no sense to me.

Like I mentioned yesterday,
Negri Electronics: https://negrielectronics.com/samsung-i9250-google-galaxy-nexus-black-unlocked.html
Expansys
Newegg
Best bet would be Negri as its the cheapest (find a coupon online if they're valid still). From what I'm told on forums, Negri will handle warranties (look it up on XDA as multiple users have mentioned this).
https://negrielectronics.com/policies
DEFECTIVE ITEMS: A defective item may be returned for repair within 25 days of date of purchase. If an repair is not possible we will offer a refurbished replacement. If this is not available you will be offered a store credit toward a future purchase. If you would prefer a refund (instead of a store credit), you may request a full refund, minus shipping charges. The exchange process typically takes 8-10 days to complete. Every (Non Carrier Branded) device comes with a 1 year warranty from the manufacturer. After 25 days our exchange/return policy has expired, you should contact the manufacturer for repair or for warranty replacement or exchange, if your device qualifies for this. Please contact the manufacturer to determine if the device you hold is covered under their warranty. If you would like to send your device to us to send to the manufacturer you are free to do so. Please request an RMA. This will delay the warranty process by 1-2 weeks and you will be charged shipping to and from the manufacturer. You will need the original invoice from us in order to have your item repaired or exchanged by the manufacturer. Warranty varies by manufacturer, but typically warranties are valid for 1 year from purchase. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST request an RMA in order to return any device.
(NEW) REPAIRS: If after 25 days your device is in need of repair you can fill out the RMA Form and request a "repair". Negri Electronics will send your device off to our 5 star repair center and have it assessed for charges prior to the repair. We will contact you with the charges and if agreed upon charge you and complete the repair. Normally there is no fee for the assessment. You only are requiredto pay our actual cost for the repair, plus shipping. Once the phone is repaired we will have this shipped back to you.

Most Verizon independent retailer do not sell phones out right. Mostly because it would be ripping the customer off.
Retailers buy their phones from Verizon at near retail value. So they buy a phone like the Nexus for $620 then sell the phone for $300 on the contract losing $320 on the phone. Verizon then pays a sizable commission on the line making your transaction profitable in the end for the retailer. Provided you pay your bill for the first 6 months.
Verizon has a limit on how many of each device the retailer can order within a time period. Because of this the retailer wants to make the most of the phones they get. In order to make the same profit selling a phone out right as they would if you signed a two year contract they would need to mark the phone up to nearly $1000. That is obviously ripping you off because you can get it cheaper somewhere else.
The sales person should have been clear up front and let you know they just don't sell phones out right.
Some of your big box stores that get a much higher allotment might not mind selling at near cost.
I am not sure if you are in the US or not but thought I would share that.

Negri or expansys. Or wait til February and see what's up with the 32GB version. The 16gb version might go down in price so this might be a good thing for you.

if 16gb is enough, it might, keyword might, be more economical to wait and let the 32 gb one come out. expansys told me the 32gb is probably going to be over $800 to ship to the usa. but then again, it might come out here in the usa at that time so it might be a little cheaper. but if you have the cash dude, and can't wait, get it imported. it's a damn good phone.

I'm not a "negri shrill" in any form or way. Just helping the OP get the Galaxy Nexus at the cheapest price available. It's simply a customer experience.
Why would I tell the OP to get it from Expansys or any other website if this one particular website offers it at a cheaper price? If you can find a price that is cheaper than what that store has to offer, then go ahead.

lol yeah, i really appreciate you helping me out man
thing is, i don't have a credit card either which is another reason im buying it locally
i could ask my parents but they'll freak out seeing how much i pay for a phone LMAO
but dude, it's like you keep mentioning negri, negri and more negri everywhere. cheaper is not always better. and i had a great experience with expansys. maybe he lives in nevada and doesn't want to pay sales tax. or illinois. all i'm saying is i see somebody mention another vendor and you're right there with negri.

OP lives in Canada, it says it on his profile. I don't understand why you have to start drama over the internet. Do you have something against their company? Both companies offer the same product, so why not grab the one that's going to save you a couple of dollars if both companies offer fast shipping?
I've had friends bought from Expansys as well, and I know they have great customer support as well. Both companies are great, but the $10-25 price difference can put a difference if a person wishes to make the purchase or not.
not starting drama. it just seems like you're there to promote negri every chance you get. seems weird ya know? both are fine. and if he's in canada illinois is closer.

[Q] Htc M8 on Amazon

Currently, an unlocked htc m8 is available in Amazon for 670 dollars. It's 30 dollars cheaper than the original price. Why is that? I'm a little scared to buy it because I have read in the reviews that they received a 16gb version not the 32gb. I just don't want trouble like returning the phone or something.

I have the 32gb from T-Mobile. First of all in my opinion all of the phones in the One family are the best most professional and elegant Android devices on the market today. I view them as cool Android devices for adults.
As far Amazon and getting a phone from there. I got two from them when I was on Sprint. They were both upgrades and Amazon only charged $.01 for each when Sprint was charging at least $50 for the upgrades. They got here in 2 days. It was a fabulous experience.

I think your most telling comment were the reviews. The fact people aren't getting what they paid for. Remember $670 for a 32gb might be a good deal. Same price for a 16gb isn't
If the reviews aren't good I always stay away. Especially if all you're saving is $30

It is labeled as 32gb. And there's like only 2 reviewers who said they received a 16gb version so it looks like a good deal. Thank you for your replies. I'm just a little curious on how they can sell it cheaper.

Amazon is high volume, and they can afford to cut prices by not having a brick and mortar stores. Plus their logistics (delivery network) are unmatched. All of this means they can pretty much undercut most the competition on price (and therefore attract higher sales volume), and still make enough profit to be successful.
The purchase is direct from Amazon, correct (and not a 3rd party vendor that sells on Amazon as a portal)? If its the same listing I am looking at, it is. Amazon is really reliable. But mistakes just get made once in a while.
Merchandise returns are extremely easy on Amazon, in the event you end up having to do one. They give you a UPS label to print out, just slap it on the box it shipped in and seal the box, and take it to a UPS store (or you can probably call for UPS pickup). Since it was their mistake, they pay for shipping. When they made a mistake for something my wife ordered, they made it right by shipping the replacement overnight at no cost. Even when its a mistake I made (ordered some electrical part that were the wrong color) the return shipping was only about $2.

How to purchase the LG G3 FOR $379.73 off contract with T-Mobile

Based on 6.5% sales taxes.
Unfortunately part of the deal ends today.
This is what I did:
I paid full price for the phone because I am a current customer; $598.80 plus tax.
My total payment in the store was $589.73 after tax because I traded my Nexus 4 for $48.
Next step; called customer service so I could get a credit in to my account of $60, which is the online discount that T-Mobile is offering right now. Tough work but it tuned out fine.
Submitted my claim for the promotional offer in the LG official website where they are giving an $100 Visa prepaid card. Promotion ends today 12/14/2014.
Find out that AT&T was offering $55 for my Nexus 4 trade. Just because of that I will be getting another $50 credited in to my account. T-Mobile courtesy.
I am patient and very cheap lol
You can submit your claim for the $100 prepaid card up to “no later than midnight PST on 1/16/15”. So technically you have until then, because you can always play with the scanner and change dates on the bill.

LG website is kinda crappy actually.
Go here http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/g3
Once page loads click on promotions, and after that just wait until all the icons from different carriers appears on the right side of screen and pick T-Mobile.
And this is the link to submit your claim, which is what really matters. http://www.acbincentives.com/LGG3holidaypromotion/submit.asp

Thanks for the links. Didn't even know about this offer. Bought my G3 back in October but just fudged my receipt from T-Mo to show that i bought it Nov. 21. We'll see what happens.
I ordered mine online, will I be able to submit a screenshot of my order receipt?

It should work. It worked for me when they had the wall charger and extra battery promotion with an LG G3 that was purchased on a different date period.

So you got no paper bill? Then I guess you will have to use photoshop lol. If you are legit with your date of purchase should not be any problem with the screenshot.
By the way; $13.49! Best deal ever to purchase an original battery. Just got mine today. Was more expensive for a long time. This batteries are original and new but with minor cosmetic damage from factory. Mine came with a very little scratch and a very minimal indentation. From amazon warehouse. Read the reviews!

Haha, me too. I purchased my G3 two days past the battery promotion. Changed the date that time on my receipt to two days prior and 5 weeks later I got my extra battery and charger. :good:
Turns out that I got the phone for $17 cheaper than title said. T-Mobile pays you $50 + the difference on the trade price of the competitor. Good to know!
How are you guys changing the date on the sales receipt from the phone?
I think i bought mine in August or October but I'd really like a hundred bucks back lol
anyone?

So has any body actually gotten their $100 Visa gift card yet? Still waiting for mine and I've checked the status of my rebate request through LG and it says approved.
Edit: NVM. I guess it works. Just received my $100 gift card yesterday, finally.
