Based on the title and photo that looks like the Verizon version. So it does not have the gold pogo pins. It's a big piece of plastic with holes cut out so you can plug your individual cables into the phone (power/AUX).
If that's what you are looking for then go to town, otherwise you might be disappointed.

what?!!!!! Noooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But how do you know? it says its compatible with all models and he doesnt give any hint that the pogo pins are missing...

The Verizon one is confirmed to not have the pogo pins. Also look at the pics on the ebay listing. On the base of the mount there should be two connectors one for power and one for the audio but there isn't anything there.
Watch this video for reference: http://youtu.be/2w7TgFmP74I?hd=1

the base is different on that model. The one you want has a thinker base. It looks like its 3/4 in thick

No, its not available here yet and may never be.

I'm having a hard time believing that they would manufacture the phone with the contacts on the side and then not release any accessories that use them. Maybe Google will sell them.

Stranger things have happened.

They better!
I would hope they release one here in the states. I have heard conflicting stories on whether or not the charging GSM version will accomodate the LTE GNex. Any one know for sure?

My Nexus One accessories took weeks to months before they were available. I guess they want to give 3rd party manufacturers a chance to sell their knock offs.
The Ebay description does say, "The Vehicle Navigation Mount automatically puts your Galaxy Nexus handset in Vehicle Mode when docked." It might be legit.

Vehicle mode only means that it will activate the car dock screen, or at least that is what it has done on my other phones. This doesn't really mean that it will have the charging pins though. After reading the description of the dock on Ebay I came to the conclusion it is like the current Verizon model and does not charge or have audio hook ups. It says something to the effect of "has cut-outs in the plastic so you can still plug in your USB cable to charge the device". I have no doubt that it is legit, it's just not the legit charging/audio dock.

Legit or not legit, the GSM car dock with the 3-pin connector isn't available as of yet. The few websites that have offered them show a pre-order status so there is no way to check for sure.
The Official US Samsung Car Dock (i525) part number is:
ECS-K1F8BEGSTA
The (Supposedly)Official UK Samsung Car Dock (i9250) part number is:

Just in case anyone wanted to know the parts #.

Also, as far as I know.. The Galaxy Nexus does not have a stock Vehicle Mode app

I looked at that mount. Verizon had a universal on in the store that can work with my Defender case still on, so I went with that. It was only 19.99 plus I got 25% off.

Correct the Galaxy Nexus does not have car home. But interestingly enough my Nexus S got the Google update to ICS 4.0.3 and it does have car home on it.

I hope you read the entire ad before you cleared the checkout...
"Please note, this dock does not have a built-in charging port. However, it does have all the perfect cutouts on the actual cradle that will allow you to easily plug in your charging cable directly into the phone, and also designed to allow easy access to all of the side buttons and ports on your device. It's the same as the one Verizon has at the stores, he's only charging ten dollars more.

Landscape dock/car dock same for GSM & LTE?

Anyone know if these accessories work for both models? The dimensions are so close that it might. It seems implied that they will but I haven't read anything to confirm this. Cases are a totally different matter of course.
A number of people here have said that LTE cases fit the GSM phone fine.
I would be VERY surprised if the accessories didn't work with each other. From a design standpoint it would be very easy to make them interchangeable and it'd just be wasteful and expensive not to.

Well the question is whether the docks can be made to accept the slightly thicker LTE version & the GSM version, and also line up 3 pogo pins to the three gold contacts, and firmly hold both models (at least for the car mount this is important).
Does anyone have an answer for this? I am curious too. I want to buy the verizon car dock for my GSM Nexus, but only if it will fit properly.
I stopped at Verizon store near my house and put my GSM phone in the car dock with out issue. Didn't check to see if the pins lined up but imagine they would.
The GSM phone also fits into the side pouch with kickstand that Verizon carriers, including all the cutouts for pins, headphones usb and such

I have not been to the Verizon store to confirm, but i read somewhere online that someone got the car dock and some other Galaxy Nexus accessories from the Verizon store. they might not have them out, but if you ask a rep, they can probably get them from the back for you. YMMV depending on the store though.
couple questions.. if someone can confirm that Verizon is indeed selling the car docks, can you tell me how much they're selling it for and most importantly if it has a slot for the power button? out of all the pics I've seen, its not clear whether you're able to hit the power button while docked

I can guarantee the Verizon store on Military Rd in Niagara Falls NY has the card dock. If I remember correctly it is 39.95 which made me laugh because in Canada Bell is selling the dock for $89.95
I will likely be going to the states again this weekend and if I do, I will try to remember to stop by the Verizon store again and check out the card dock again about the power button.
BE CAREFUL, there are reasons why the the Verizon car dock ($39.95 vise $89.95) is cheaper than other places.
I just looked at the Verizon car dock. It does not take advantage or the pogo pins. It has a cutout on the bottom of the dock for plugging in the micro USB, into actual phone each time you put the phone in dock:-( There is no USB port on the side of the mount.
Repeat it is different than the style than what I have seen pictures from Samsung.
I know what your going to say and sadly I did not think to take any pictures.

thanks for clearing that up. Wasn't planning on getting the Verizon dock anways. Sorry to the others whos hope I may have gotten up.
The GMS dock is more expensive because you can plug in usb power & 3.5mm audio permanently into the base near the windshield. The cheap Verizon part must have the cable dangling and plug USB in every time. Might as well buy generic car mount.
Again Verizon pushes out garbage at a consumer price point they can increase profit on.
Please post if you find you can run power/audio on GSM mount with the thicker Verizon phone.
I can also confirm that the dock Verizon is selling is a basic shell. No integrate USB and Headphone jack. In fact, I'll be returning it tomorrow, the headphone jack is not cut out enough for my car's jack even.
LTE nexus fits in GSM dock?
Dam
Bell canada wins !
But 89.99 too much . Anyone selling the gsm dock online ? (Uk?)

I found this out the hard way today as well. Just a cheap shell and won't even engage any car dock settings. Returning it tomorrow and would love to find something that does work with the pins so it knows its in a dock.
Hope the media dock the rep ordered me today doesn't have the same problem.
I definitely want the gsm car dock for my vzw gn, but you can use tags and NFC to push it into car dock mode. I will be using these for many things.
I heard mention of the gsm docks not coming until january. Not sure if that's the case or not, but they are sure hard to find.

The pictures and the description disagree. The pictures and price are of the crappy mount. The description describes the good mount, I'm going to assume its the crappy one because 2/3 points to the **** one.

[Q] So now that it looks like were f#$%d waiting on that 3 pin Car dock.....

Does anyone have any link to a good deal for the verizon "mount"? Cheapest i can see while doing random searches is about $35 which is still over priced for a glorified holder...
No fun driving having to hold in my hand, placing it in the cup holder or placing it on the passenger seat when its free.
I'm interested in this now as well. Sick of waiting to see the release date keep changing on the 3-pin docs.
I'll try the mod someone posted a few days back.

According to tweets from US Reseller Negri Electronics (@negrielectronic) - Samsung has cancelled the 32 GB GSM Galaxy Nexus as well as all phone accessories except for the 2000 mAh Battery and the Car charger.
This means desk dock, car dock and a couple of others have been cancelled.

probably because they're moving towards 16 GB versions only...hopefully that doesn't change the accessories available.
From what I've heard, it's because they have the Galaxy S III coming out, and want to be sure people go after it as well. Would be kinda messed up if this is the case.

I'm making a trip to buffalo this weekend.
I'm going to see if I can get my hands on one of those Verizon car docks and then add the pogo pins. I believe that the guy who modded his Verizon dock said that it fit the GSM version.
I wouldn't be surprised to see some aftermarket versions show up, and maybe at a cheaper price. Wishful thinking, but even that will take some time.

I know, it's pretty silly isn't it? Not only are there no accessories out that use it, but apparently from what I read the charge isn't even enough to sustain the phone while it's on. Definitely a big dropped ball. There's really no excuse for that on a flagship phone.
Seriously!
I sure thought long and hard about the Razor because Moto "Puts out" when it comes to accessories and the Lapdock looks pretty promising if they get the bugs out of the new one.
There are plenty of issues to be irritated about with this phone (flaky data connection anyone?) and I have managed to keep my disappointment tempered since with 4.0.4 coming (SOON DAMMIT!) it should solve a lot of them but thank you for reminding me of another
May I suggest waiting another 11 days for the car dock?

And... another 12 days for the home dock?

I made my own cradle charger out of wood just so I could have one.
It appears the POGO pins only accept max of .5A, so it charges pretty slow. I use it as my overnight charger.
If you were using a car dock with GPS running, it won't sustain it at all, given that 1A chargers barely keep up if you're running nav.
I do want to say that I am really unhappy with the lack of accessories for it as well as the fragmentation of having two galaxy nexus form factors to deal with, which further reduces the desire for 3rd party accessory makers to look at making stuff for our phone. I feel like Samsung really blew it with this one.

It's entirely Samsung, nothing to do with Google. They built the phone. Unless of course, VZ actually said - our phone has to be a different form factor, in which case they can die in a fire.
Someone at Samsung with some common sense should of said, gee golly, maybe we should just thicken up the GSM version half a mm, throw in a bigger battery and everyone would be happy.

I would, however every do it yourself job has only been USB charging unless you are running a custom kernel. The OEM dock does AC charging and invokes the dock mode which gives proper landscape with the OEM launcher.
USB charging is not enough to keep up in Navigation mode.
I found something interesting in the description that they provide (will be higlighted in bold)
The OEM Samsung Desktop Dock is designed to hold the *Samsung Galaxy Nexus while charging it. The dock comes with a standard micro USB input that can be used with either a main charger or USB cable and a 3.5mm audio line-out connection so that you can connect your device to an external speaker for high-quality audio reproduction. The dock has been designed to be used in both portrait and landscape orientations. This means that you can switch from answering emails to watching YouTube clips without having to unplug your device. The dock also has additional volume controls on the side so that you can adjust the volume regardless of the orient of your phone.
I wonder what these additional volume controls are. Because looking at previous pics of the dock I didn't see any actual buttons on it to control the volume. I hope they aren't referring to the volume on the phone or external speakers.
It is just a shame that I had already ordered the dock from expansys.ca and expecting it in a couple of days otherwise I would have went with this option.

Not that GSM version is any cheap also, but you pay for a really high quality made accessory, any original accessory cost more than aftermarket..

That looks like a form letter. Did they really send out something with errors like that?

Not that GSM version is any cheap also, but you pay for a really high quality made accessory, any original accessory cost more than aftermarket..

I agree. I ordered the GSM model from Expansys earlier this week and it arrived today. I couldn't be more pleased with its fit and finish. It also happens to be just tall enough for me to squeeze in one of my Tagstand NFC tags.
Ordered mine yesterday and shipped today... we will see!

file transfer?
could someone let us know whether the dock supports file transfer between the nexus and the pc/laptop? or is it just a charger?

The pogo pins are for charging and audio out... no reason to suspect this would allow for data transfer without pins analogous to D+ and D-. Samsung even lists it as being merely a charger in the spec sheet.

Anyone find a place to get it cheaper?

DIY if you just want a charging dock without audio out, it's real easy to make, made my in 2-3 hours.
Of course if you DIY, you can't throw abuse it it, it's gona break faster than the original Samsung one, but it works
Any confirmation of it working with the OEM extended battery and back?
mine will show up in about 24 hours. I have the OEM 2100ma extended battery and will post results as soon as I know them. Based on posters who bought this dock back in Feb when it was first introduced, I expect it will fit w/o issues.
Can anyone confirm whether plugging an MHL adapter to the micro-USB output on the dock will provide one with video output?
This guys says yes, but I'd like to hear from others to believe it:
