[Q] Unable to get 1.4ghz using mod - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello,
When i try to run the 1.4ghz hack, (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380064),
I get stuck on the google screen.
And when I try to use franco's kernal it all works but I have a max cpu of 1200mhz.
Has anyone else eccounted the same problem and how do you fix it so you get the 1400mhz.
Thanks

The kernel from that link is 4.0.2. Franco's latest kernel doesn't have OC. Try one of the other 4.0.3 kernels that can OC such as Apex on rootzwiki.

If you are getting stuck at the Google screen it means your phone can't handle 1.4ghz

Aren't these 1.5 chips?

Im having the same problem. I think the kernal i was using is for 4.0.3 only.. i missed the 4.0.2 version by a day. My only hope is that when 4.0.3 su.zip comes out in a few weeks it will work then because im not sure i want to port it from another device

I believe they're 1.4, but if you read the thread in the dev section about overclocking/undervolting patches it explains a lot in regards to why the phones won't boot/lag when it comes to all of this.

I don't think that means anything to anybody. Where did you find the name if you don't know the kernel?
Seems familiar... are you talking about the trinity kernel with the 512 GPU overclock?
Someone pm me to try it. Its by morfic or something but I can't seem to find it and he hasn't pmed me back. It's annoying me that I can't find it lol

Examples?
Try a different kernel, Franco does a lot of demanding tweaks with his (Including GPU overclocking).

Milestone releases by franco are all stock gpu speeds. Only the nightlies have gpu over clock.

Best kernel for my stock rom

I have the latest 4.0.4 update from vzw. I flashed it along with the radio. I was just wondering a sweet kernel that will improve the experience. Thought? Tips? Thanks in advance.

should try franco kernel with stock. Gave me around 3-4h screen on and didn't drain battery life when the phone was in sleep.
CMPlus
+1 for Franco. I get 4.5-5.5 hours of screen on time on a daily basis.

Try Franco.Kernel
I'm getting 4:30 to 5 hrs screen-on time with Franco Kernel Milestone 4
It's the best
Imoseyon's lean kernel on rootzwiki has been the best for me. I set it to interactivex, for best performance and battery life.

Pretty subjective topic. You can really use any kernel with similar results.

I flashes Franco but got the whole music not playing bug so I'm using the imoseyon or whatever that is..

I vote for Franco's kernel also.
I also recommend downloading his app from Play, as it supports his efforts and makes flashing the nightly builds easier than it already is.

[Q] What Kernel Is Compatible With AOKP JellyBean "Nightly"?

Just like the title stated, what kernel is compatible with AOKP JellyBean "Nightly" that will let me overclock my processor?
Ktoonez kernel is great. Has knots of schedulers and overclock up to 2.1ghz..my s3 has had no problem staying at those speeds for some time. Lean kernel is also good but I got random reboots with it. That one has very few schedulers and can oveclock up to 1.9 GHz. There are 2 more kernels for AOSP android. Check them out

Thanks for the link, however when I flashed it I cant seem to be able to able to overclock my processor, it is stuck at 1512mhz.
Also, I did download the Jelly Bean version of the kernel, the on and after 10/14 since my Rom was released on 10/21.
There is an app called KTweaker in there click on general and you should see the option enable oc options.

No OC possible on JB ROMs?

Hey everyone, I've been searching for OC kernels(beyond 1.2), but sadly there don't seem to be any. I managed to find the doom kernel but that has long been depreciated, and that's the only kernel I could locate with GPU OC available. Anyway I was curious as to others know something I might not.

A few old kernels (pre-JB) were OCed to 1.3, but it proved to be very unstable in more than half of the devices. The 1.3 setting was never again introduced since the release of the 3.0 kernel.

Thanks for explaining that. You see I just got a KF, so I'm not very familiar with it or its development.
