[Q] What Kernel Is Compatible With AOKP JellyBean "Nightly"? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Just like the title stated, what kernel is compatible with AOKP JellyBean "Nightly" that will let me overclock my processor?

Ktoonez kernel is great. Has knots of schedulers and overclock up to 2.1ghz..my s3 has had no problem staying at those speeds for some time. Lean kernel is also good but I got random reboots with it. That one has very few schedulers and can oveclock up to 1.9 GHz. There are 2 more kernels for AOSP android. Check them out

Thanks for the link, however when I flashed it I cant seem to be able to able to overclock my processor, it is stuck at 1512mhz.
Also, I did download the Jelly Bean version of the kernel, the on and after 10/14 since my Rom was released on 10/21.

There is an app called KTweaker in there click on general and you should see the option enable oc options.

[Q] Unable to get 1.4ghz using mod

Hello,
When i try to run the 1.4ghz hack, (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380064),
I get stuck on the google screen.
And when I try to use franco's kernal it all works but I have a max cpu of 1200mhz.
Has anyone else eccounted the same problem and how do you fix it so you get the 1400mhz.
Thanks
The kernel from that link is 4.0.2. Franco's latest kernel doesn't have OC. Try one of the other 4.0.3 kernels that can OC such as Apex on rootzwiki.

I treid it with paulobriens mod but don't know how to get it to work.

Thanks for that information - i'll hav ea look into it
If you are getting stuck at the Google screen it means your phone can't handle 1.4ghz

Aren't these 1.5 chips?

Im having the same problem. I think the kernal i was using is for 4.0.3 only.. i missed the 4.0.2 version by a day. My only hope is that when 4.0.3 su.zip comes out in a few weeks it will work then because im not sure i want to port it from another device

I believe they're 1.4, but if you read the thread in the dev section about overclocking/undervolting patches it explains a lot in regards to why the phones won't boot/lag when it comes to all of this.

Overclocking above 1.40Ghz

Hi, i am currently using a kernal that is clocked at 1.42Ghz, see link below. Everything is stable and super smooth, i would like to know if there are kernals with a higher overclock than this and if other gnex are stable at them frequencies? Want push mine to see what its capable of.

If you read the UV/OC thread in the Dev section relating to UV/OC patches, you can see why overclocking past 1.4 isn't very stable..

Yes I have already read them, I'm currently on a Max frequency of 1.42Ghz + UV which isn't supposed to be stable, but I feel that my phone is capable of handling this, therefore I would like to know if there was anything else out there to see the maximum capabilities of my phone

CPU/GPU overclock?

Is there a working kernel for the att S3 to over clock the CPU or GPU or both that works on Jellybean ROMs?
All I could find was some old stuff for the international and T-Mobile USA versions of the S3..

I think faux has one in the original android development section.

Jb tw or aosp... I hope you mean tw, cause aosp jb are pretty easy to find

Aosp ROM I presume?
Look for kt747 kernel In original development.
Over clock at 2106
under clock 98
AT&T SGS3
AOKP Task & Ktoonsez ROM
KT747 Kernel OC'ed & UV'ed
Medical MJ Supporter
Fauxs has been retired for almost two months now. He abandoned it (I think he is busy with school and real life)
You should look at kt's kernel.

KT747 has up to 2.1GHz cpu overclock. There was a gpu OC in it but it caused issues, didn't help performance and was promptly removed.

Will cm10 ever be overclockable?

Hi guys,
Just wondering if cm10 will ever come with kernel that allows over clocking. I have Canadian rogers s3. Anyone with rogers s3 over clocked? What kernel did you use with cm10 and how far were u able to push it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
KT747 kernel works good with cm10 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756776
You get an app that let's you overclock up to 2106ghz. Plus some other tweaks.
Faux kernel forks fine as well it comes overclocked in 2 versions 1.62ghz and 1.84ghz.
Thx for reply. I'm gonna go ahead and see if my phone can handle 2.1ghz. Hope it will generate some crazy quadrant scores.

[Q] Questionable Kernel

Trying to flash a Mason G v.15rc4 (onto/into?) The Emilio Unchained V 2.0 and just gets stuck in the splash screen (not boot animation) (no bootloops). This happens on a lot of ROMS, but how come?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
The kernel may not compatible with the roms you are flashing
Sent from my PG06100
It appears as though the ROM you're using utilizes the Mason kernel, just a slightly different one than what you're using. Probably not worth the change, really.
The advice is free....the bandwidth, not so much
Just missing the wheatley governor I guess. That was my only reason.

Same here. I'm not sure what that ROM is, (GB, ICS, JB) But you get that the Mason Kernels, G = Gingerbread, I = ICS and neither work with JB

I had never heard of it until I looked in development and saw it. It's based on the most recent CM7.2 nightly, though.

Just realized you guys are talking about the rom I'm using
The.Emilio Unchained V.2
It's a tweaked, but basically vanilla rom. I use it to add all kinds of stuff to it like the newest Bravia engine 2 that dieselford put up on Kendall's jellybread thread. Also throw a bunch of build.prop tweaks in as well. The only thing missing now is my little wheatley

I'm using jelly belly omega with a flashed mason kernel el 0.1.5 RC5. Wheatley works, along with great functionality, but it causes the stock camera to fc.

Gallery works also. Just no camera.. disappointing. This ROM also has a lot of tweaking capabilities. Its in android development
