[Q] Captivate Glide camera - Samsung Captivate Glide

Question for anyone with a Captivate Glide. I got this for my wife and she's noticed a number times when she unlocks the phone the Camera app is running ready to take a picture. Are any of the side buttons mapped to the camera or is there a face unlock feature I need to disable? Or is it just a fluke?
Thanks

Captivate Glide has it's own sub-forum (underneath the Samsung Captivate). U will get a better response if u post there.

Yeah, since this wasn't a Dev question I didn't want to put it there. Anyway, figured it out. It's my wife's phone, I put Go Locker on it and am using the ICS locker theme since her old HD2 was running ICS.
Anway, on ICS swipe right unlocks and swipe left launchs the camera. Operator error.

If you are talking about the grid where you put in a certain pattern to unlock the phone we have that, its just not activated by default. Its under settings>security....not sure the exxact pathway but its there

I was wondering the same thing. And no the puzzle lock I'd different from the pattern lock.

This is what he's talking about. I'd love to see the puzzle lock screen ported too. I wish I knew how to dev so I could do it.

I don't know how to port it but you can find it here at xda in the fascinate themes and apps section under the thread called (MOD) stock lockscreen and the file is enable_glass_lock. Also the captivate keyboard is there in update.zip format. Hope this helps someone maybe get the lockscreen ported over.
Hi:
Any word on this, or something similar? I have a Captivate, and after raving so much about how great it is, my boyfriend just got the Epic.
It's a great phone, but the lockscreen is very annoying. Does anyone know of a lockscreen replacement where you can swype in any direction like the Captivate, even if it doesn't have the puzzle aspect? I have found a couple of replacement locksreens, but they all seem to be iPhone style, slide to the side.
Thanks!

U can do stock android or sense lockscreens with widget locker.

Any progress at getting this ported?
Or have any devs taken a look at this?
I want this so bad.
I am very interested in this as well. *fingers crossed*
I've tried a few times to no-avail. It seems while the remnants of the code are there, the full code is not. I'll look more into it after Official 2.2 releases. Until then, it would be quite pointless considering it would have to be redone for the 2.2 release.
Hey, any news on this? I came from an Evo Shift to the Epic a day ago.

its certainly possible to do it...you have to add the images to the frameworks and mod 2 jars i believe...we have 5 lockscreens on the fascinate courtesy of sbrissen...so it just takes some tinkering

basically someone would have to diff the fascinate lockscreen mod and then integrate it in...not easy certainly...but your community is pretty large and has a lotta smart people in it

Any chance of getting "face unlock" ported to the Epic?

I just saw the Nexus S getting it and it looks pretty damn cool.
They come in twos lol. This is the development section.
We dont have any chance officially. The only way is if we get Cm9. Then you could root and flash that. Changes are cm 9 will break 4g.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Damn that blows... I was really looking forward to CM9. But I actually use my 4g quite often. Its my mobile wi-fi for my tablet and laptop...
Honestly I don't have much faith that it will work properly anyway. Would be neat to play around with, but I don't see it being seriously useful. I'd like to be wrong though.

Check out the app Visidon Applock. Developer is responsive to all questions and the app works well. It is a solid replacement until we upgrade to a phone that has ics.

Is it just me or does anyone else want that stunning GS3 lock screen hope someone will be able to port it with sound fx when a dump is available

Another one of these threads? Why doesn't everybody who want these features get together and port it when it comes out or start a bounty?

I'm pretty new but how does this bounty system work? I would gladly set aside money for someone to port certain things or add certain features. I'm not keen on this lockscreen but if this is common practice, I would like to get involved.

Agreed. Im fine with the jellybean lockscreen.
Galaxy S3 dandelion LWP in the Play Store works pretty nice and has the ripple touch effect.
There's also an app from the same developer called Water Drop LWP that let's you use your own pictures with the ripple effect.
I liked the whole idea back on the final releases of GB/Cyano where you are able to tap on any part of the screen and choose the options. JB Lockscreen is fine but I dont like it to be tied down to the bottom area only, maybe the S3 lockscreen appeals to me only because you can unlock from any portion of the screen, and that sexy water ripple perhaps One thing is for sure, you don't need no damned Quad core to get that. But what I would love, would be that sexy MyWater.apk from Asus Transformer. That LWP was the BOMB! But doesn't work on JB, sad.

How to Change/Move Docked Icons

Hi, I Recently Discovered how to change the Icons or move them, I know maybe a few people know this but just incase because sometimes you really want to change them without a launcher, So its pretty Simple, Press Applications DON'T GO Into settings click applications at the bottom right of your screen then press your settings on your physical keyboard or Physical buttons Located below the screen, Click Edit then it should give you instructions if to move then not like you need them but You now can Move your Icons Here's an example I just replaced the browser with the ICS Browser, Sorry if the picture quality isn't good I'm trying to fix that.

I know. I've used all the custom roms on my gnex. Where on my gnex, 100 percent stock, had no lag. Multitasking was butter.

I'm not on stock now...but have been. Not sure what your frame of reference is...but guess it wouldn't hurt to ask....
When you say "multitasking lag", do you mean:
1. You've got a lot of apps running in the background that haven't forced to close...and you're lagging going from one to the other?
2. When you hit the home button it takes a second or two to get out of an app or back to the home screen?
3. You haven't task-killed anything and when you go to another program/app that's a little more intense, you get lag?
4. NOTA

With maybe 3-4 apps running, and me the home button my multi tasking pops up but pops up in a slightly laggy way, and swiping apps away to kill them is also laggy, multi tasking in general is laggy. Everything else in the phone is smooth though.

Any one else? I'm not think ill exchange it Friday for a new one cause judging by reviews I think I have the only laggy s3

Most people will notice that it seems to take forever to get the multi-tasking tray to appear when pressing the home button, not sure anyone has come up with an improvement as of yet though -
Mines smooth as can be takenit back try again u cant compare a gnex to this phone gnex is prolly the smoothest phone i have ever seen...the s3 will get there its still in infancy

It doesn't necessarily take long, it's just laggy

I think I'm just setting standards to high for this phone. I had a gnex before and it was smoother, YouTube was smoother, multitasking was smoother, everything was literally butter and I thought this phone would be as smooth, if not smoother/faster but it isn't.
