Recovery Mode Combo :( - LG Nitro HD

Hi,
just looking here and there to find recovery combos for this device , if some could try the following combos on there Nitro HD/Optimus Lte and tell me if it works , it would be really helpful for me:
1. Turn the power off.
2. Press and hold the following keys at the same time for 10 seconds: Power/Lock Key + Volume Down Key.
3. When the phone starts vibrating, release the keys.
4. When reset screen appears, press power/lock button THREE Times.
Please post the result here , dont worry it wont reset your phone

No luck when I tried it - just booted up normally...
The only time it has even looked like it booted in recovery mode, though only for a second or two, was when I used anreboot to do it.

can you execute:
Code:
mount -o rw,remount -t emmc /dev/block/mmcblk0p13 /recovery
does it give some error if it doesnt after that try executing
Code:
ls -lh /recovery
to view recovery partition

no such device
Same thing happened to me before when I tried to mount other blocks?

im try to flash the recovery that compiled by myself which based on your recovery.img
good luck to myself

fingers crossed - the beauty is that the recovery image isn't such a big deal as it doesn't hurt the normal boot process. So even if you bork up the recovery it should be relatively easy to fix.

can u give me your qq?i'm also from china and also using su640

How to break ICS encryption to save your phone. ATT -d2att ONLY

If you encrypt your phone using ICS encryption on CM9 for example then you can't just put in a password to turn off the encryption feature like you can on a Samsung rom. Today my phone was completely unusable because I couldn't boot into recovery or Android, reverting to stock with Odin would make my phone hang at the Samsung logo when booting Android. We're going to flash a new recovery using Odin and format your /data partition so that you can mount your internal and external SD cards once again so your phone is usable.
Software required:
Odin
ADB
Files:
Odin
http://samsung-updates.com/Odin307.zip
Flashable CWM Recovery
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ukx3l58wpcb3h4b/connor.tar.md5
Open Odin and make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked, click PDA and open connor.tar.md5 then flash the phone.
Once the recovery is done flashing and your phone is rebooting remove the battery from your phone. Replace the battery and hold volume up, home (center button) and power. Once the Samsung logo appears release the power button and your phone will boot into recovery. From here we are going to format our data partition.
Start an adb shell.
Linux:
/android-sdk-linux/platform-tools/adb start-server
adb shell
Windows:
Open a CMD window in your ADB folder (shift click and click open new command window).
adb shell
From here we are going to format our data partition.
cat /etc/recovery.fstab
If /data is mmcblk0p15 then everything is going as planned.
mke2fs -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p15
What that command will do is format your /data partition.
mount /data
mount
You should see /dev/block/mmcblk0p15 mounted on /data
Flash a new rom and your broken phone is now usable.
Credits to koush for CWM and utkanos for helping me with the process.
Thanks for the info. However it seems to me that the encryption causes more problems than it helps. I've seen too many posts about how implementing encryption ends up screwing someone. But I've never seen a post that said...wow I am sure glad that I encrypted my phone! Let's face it...unless u are working for the government or the like...there's no need for it. And if u are working for the government, they will have some I.T. guy handling it for you. Its best to leave it alone and password protect your phone / files / data and then u wouldn't have to deal with the above steps.

My friend runs his Galaxy Nexus rooted with no custom rom and has his phone encrypted because he's strange like that (when googling about illegal stuff he always uses an incognito browsing session), he's just paranoid I suppose. I encrypted mine just because I could without thinking that something like this could occur. There was absolutely no information on the internet about how to undo the encryption and this is the only possible way I know.

[Q] A100 Potentially Bricked. Am I out of luck?

Hello folks, hopefully somebody can help me out with this issue or I may just have to bite the bullet and see what the repair costs are going to be from Acer. I have an Iconia A100 that is unlocked and rooted. I never did get around to loading a custom ROM (was waiting for the JB ROMs to get a little bit more stable) and was just running the stock ICS. It also seems that I didn't successfully load a recovery image so I now seem to be totally out of luck. I went to use my tablet while it was still on but the screen refused to turn on after pressing the home button or pressing the power button. So I decided to reset it and figured that would fix it. Now it's stuck booting to the screen with the distorted text at the top and the multiple acer logos at the bottom. I've tried a factory reset to clear the cache and that didn't help although it did say deleting user data and cache. I tried booting into recovery but found that the CWM that I thought I had installed wasn't installed and all I get is a fallen down android icon with a red exclamation over it. If I power up holding down the volume up key and then flicking the screen rotation switch I get it to display that it's in USB fastboot mode but if I type in adb devices it doesn't get listed as an attached device when hooked into my PC. One other note if I leave it at the distorted text and plug it into my PC via USB Windows 7 detects it as a MPT USB Device which it's not able to locate a driver for.
Ok, some additional information:
I was trying to get something out of the screen where I have the fallen down android with the red exclamation point over it and it seems that the default recovery is still installed in Android system recovery (3e). I can't seem to select any menu options on the screen but it does give some additional info. It looks like the eMMC may be partially or completely borked, I'm not sure which. Here's what's on the screen:
Android system recover (3e)
Android system recovery utility
reboot system now
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
Then in yellow text:
E: Can't open /dev/block/mmcblk0p5
(No such file or directory)
E: failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory)
This goes on for a bit of being unable to open various directories. Is there anyway at this point to re-lock the bootloader and erase traces of doing so? I find it hard to believe that unlocking the bootloader would cause what seems to be a hardware fault but I could be wrong.

Its a typical emmc brick, there's threads all over about this. All you can do is send it to acer for repair, sorry to say.
Plug it in and let try to boot on its own for an hour or so, what you want is failsafe, blue power led on but screen off. Then send it to Acer.

[Q] "Can't mount storage" error after formatting cache in CWM

After using for some days with sling rom 2.1 my phone was running li'l bit slow. So i went to CWM recovery, formatted the cache partition. After that when i reboot to system, it shows an error like this:
" SECURE BOOTING ERROR
==========================
Cause: Device unlock, So boot success "
and goes to recovery every time instead of booting into phone. When i didn't understand what i did wrong, I decided to flash a rom from the memory card and it shows me another error "Can't mount sdcard". After that i wanted to flash with kdz but surprisingly i couldn't get it to the download mode either. It just goes into recovery. What should i do now?

How did you go to download mode? Try this:
- Turn off device (in recovery: advanced > power off).
- Wait 20-30s. Unplug cable.
- Hold volume up and down + plug quickly.
Try several times.

I have tried with this key combination like 20-30 times but no luck Now I'm fearing of loosing my beloved device...
Go in cwm mount system then format system it worked for me i don't know if it will work for you so i don't hold me responsible over this but if you can't do anything else you can try it

Stuck on load screen, unabled to enter recovery, adb erase cache has no effect

So my second zenfone is dead.
Like many others, it gets stuck at the asus loading screen with the spinning wheel.
This did not happen after any obvious action, like an update - it was just turned off when i woke up, and wont load beyond the spinning wheel of death.
I have booted into fast boot mode (power and vol +), selected [recover mode] and got the broken android logo.
I then hit power and vol+, then release vol+ as suggested, but instead of a menu, i get a bunch of yellow console output, 3rd line of which is:
E: failed to mount /cache (invalid argument)
This appears for less than a second, then back to flashing broken android logo.
Repeating ( power and vol+, then release vol+) results in the same briefly visible console output
I turn off, and reboot into fast boot mode, and try using adb.
I enter the command 'fastboot erase cache' and it completes in 0.4 seconds, no errors. Has no effect on phone (reboot stuck loading, recovery mode same error as above).
Next i try 'fastboot format cache' - the command appears to work, but again completes in just over a second, and has no effect on the phone.
The only info i could find directly relating to this error is on a random .info website, so im reluctant to follow the steps:
http://mobilecon.info/fix-asus-zenf...-into-recovery-mode.html#sthash.slqGoK95.dpbs
Anyone here solved this issue? Or is it time for a warranty claim?
Thanks

Just don't do step 15 (factory reset) if you want to keep your old data.

Thanks for the link - it looks much the same as the one i posted, with the addition of flashing the system image.
Do you know if there is any danger in trying without flashing system 1st?
Also, have you used or seen this method used specifically to fix the mount failure i have described, or its just a general 'de-bricking' guide?
Finally, do you or anyone else have any insight into why this might have happened in the 1st place - as i mention, i did not do anything beyond normal use prior to the issue.
thanks
Sounds like the recovery corrupted... could be a range of things from improper shutdown to an improperly coded app that caused the error. If you want to flash just the recovery and see if that fixes it, go right ahead, but don't forget to erase your cache after you flash recovery.
Whenever I get stuck in a bootloop, the steps I follow are:
1) clear the cache and see if it fixes it, as something might be there that's preventing you from booting
2) flash the most current firmware to see if it fixes it, as something might have modified a section of one of the partitions that's preventing you from booting (make sure to clear cache after flashing)
3) contact support because it's more likely hardware failure
There's no danger in flashing any of those partitions, at most you'd lose the Xposed framework, root and busybox - which are easy to reinstall. It doesn't affect much else, and your info should be intact. I would advise getting the firmware from a reputable source though... I just get it off the Asus website, then root the phone after.
Try reinstall recovery
Download stock recovery(there is download link from zenfone2 index)>go fastboot mode>then flash recovery using command :
fastboot flash recovery (recovery image name).img
>Reboot to recovery>adb sideload full firmware

E: fail to mount /efs, /system, /verification

One day after I charged my note 2 phone (SGH-T889), unplugged charger and started playing an app game for 5 mins. The phone suddenly crashed and began to restart nonstop but couldn't get passed the welcome screen animation. Eventually, it kept restarted and stuck in the logo screen.
I tried all the factory reset, wipe cache in recovery mode (holding the 3 buttons), taking out SD card, or all the basic stuff. The phone is not rooted at all. I even tried to install firmware through ADB (with digital signed software) but still failed to do so (even with some software to sign the zip file) because i got signature verification error. I also see failed to mount efs and system error. Also I wouldn't be able to get into recovery mode unless i hook up the usb, otherwise it will continuously fail to reboot in the logo screen.
I would like some guidance to reformat/ flash the whole phone with files linked or attached. Any official firmware version is fine for me. I only just learned ADB but I know nothing about odin. I don't want to root the phone if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
The stock ROM for your phone can be found here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SPH-L720T/
The stock ROM from sammobile is flashed via Odin as Odin is Samsung's official flashing method.

I typed the wrong phone. I typed s4 instead of the note 2 model. Sorry.
Ok i flashed my note 2 with odin v3.11.2 with T889UVUCOH4_T889TMBCOH4_HOME.tar.mp5 in the AP tab in ordin. However, I get stuck in the green robot where there is a percentage bar after reboot. It gets stuck there then just reboot with the same thing happening. What do I do? Thanks.
I was using this odin tutorial http://odindownloader.com/tutorials/use-odin-downloader

Ok Eventually it goes to recovery mode cwm.... Now i get even more E error. Pretty much fail to mount data, system, recover/ log, cache, etc..... even more errors T_T
Open Odin, uncheck everything except f reset time, flash rom, when you see the word reset in the status window, remove cable from the phone, remove battery, replace battery, boot into recovery, wipe, and reboot.

Doesn't work after i put back battery in. In fact, i had trouble going to cwm after that. When I try to go to cwm, it goes to the green robot for a split second and jump back to logo screem in loop.
What happens when you put the battery back in? Does it flash stock without errors? Cwm should not be in the phone after flashing stock.

stuck in logo and when i try to wipe and factory reset liek u told me with holding vol up, power button, and home button, i go back to samsung logo loop
When booting to recovery, let the power button go as soon as the phone starts to boot but keep holding the home and volume up buttons.

I get only e: fail to mount efs and system ( didn't get fail to mount system the 1st time) now instead from the recovery screen. Wiped and got stuck in the sam sung start up animation, but then it becomes the same old logo reboot loop.

Ok this is what happened when I did the whole process again precisely as you told me. After I flashed with odin with (T889UVUCOH4_T889TMBCOH4_HOME.tar.md5), my phone is still in the download mode screen but everything is done downloading already. I unpluged usb, battery, micro SD card. When I try to reboot in recovery (I did your let go of the power button the moment the logo poped up), I am unable to do that, except I get reboot non stop and sometime I can see the green robot with the percentage bar screen. Eventually after multiple logo reboot loop, it just stuck at the screen and not do a thing.
Pretty much nothing I can do when I unplugged the phone from the USB, but when I plugged back the phone to the USB i can go to recovery mode somehow and I get all the e fail to mount errors for everything like i posted previously.
Also tried to install cwm through odin, but after odin said it pass and restarted with or without taking out the battery, I cant even go to recovery mode anymore....
omg my phone does the same thing except I cant flash at all keeps saying complete (write) operation failed. someone did resovle this please pm me or reply....
only thing that manages to connect with my phone but never complete is cwm4_fixed_for_cm7-odin.tar
I see the blue bar its complete but nothing ever happens
Sounds like there is a hardware problem with the phone. There could be a few causes but the failure to mount partitions means the memory may be damaged.

it connects only to that? so what to do @audit13
I would look around to see if I could find a cheap note 2 with a smashed screen and working motherboard to switch the parts.
If you don't want to do that, maybe ask a cell shop for a repair estimate?
The phone is not worth too much so I would not spend a lot of money fixing it.
omg are you serious so thers nothing I can do? can I show you the pictures or something what is cwm4_fixed_for_cm-7-odin.tar? why is that only working ...im broke lol!!and a noob
