Verizon NFL Mobile FINALLY WORKS ON NEXUS!!!!!!! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

The NFL mobile app finally works on the Nexus this morning. It was updated yesterday but did not work. Tried it this morning and it works. Yesterday when the app was updated on ICS, it said it was supposed to work and it didn't. I went as far as removing the app and clearing the cache and data on the Verizon login app in settings/apps/all/verizon login and still nothing. Today I tried it just for Sh%$ and giggles and it works. YAAAAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!. Cant wait to watch my team get eliminated in the first round.
PS. I'm a Bronco fan Don't bash me because of Tebow, Ive been a fan since the late '80s when I was in Jr. High. Just gave away my age somewhat. Close to being an old fart

It's working here too. I figured last night, when it didn't work, that there was some kind of device type validation done on the server. Probably as a result of all of the cracking work done here. heh. The app update was probably just bug fixes for 4.0.x. It probably would have worked before if they had added the GN to their whitelist, the app just might have been crashy.

I tired yesterday as well, with no success.
Maybe now it will work too.
Go Niners.

Just in time for the Titans season to be over.
Guess I'll pull for the Broncos too.

Anyone get it working on a custom ROM. I am running Gummynex and i cannot get it to work, says its for vzw customers. I am guessing there needs to be a change somewhere in the build.prop?

It's not working for me, getting a "For VZW Customers only" and I have Verizon Login installed. Thinking it's something up with the rom... Axi0m 2.3.

Install the Verizon login service first and you should be good. Installing my Verizon login service is like installing your key to all the Verizon applications including my Verizon.
I had a problem installing my Verizon app and once I installed my Verizon login service everything was good. But in order to make it work I had to first log in not using Wi-Fi

It's free if you are on any 4G phone. You only have to pay for it if you use that Vcast crap. A verizon rep at the store let me know about this when I got my Nexus. I dropped the Vcast crap and Verizon video. Enjoying the NFL app for free. Again, you have to have a 4G phone. Its in a promotional poster at the different Verzion stores I've been to in the last month or so. (Eau Claire, WI, Chicago, IL, Denver,CO and Cheyenne, WY). Hope this helps.

Supplying the apk for non-Verizon users would not be allowed on XDA.
Verizon has the rights to that and distributing to other providers would be considered as a stolen app.

It's been confirmed to be an issue with the ROM I'm on, dev said he fixed it for the next release.

For those of you that have the app working, are you on custom rom's and if so, which ones. I am running Axiom 2.3 and it is not working. Says I have to be a Verizon customer.

[LTE] Mobile hotspot error

I pay $30 for my mobile hotspot and unlimited data on my Galaxy Nexus, and just today the hotspot feature no longer works. When I activate it, it says error and just stops working. Spent about 90 minutes on the phone with Verizon they reactivated my phone, changed settings and couldn't get it to work. As a last resort they wanted to do a factory reset. At the time I couldn't do that, and they said if that doesn't work then I'll need a new phone.
I tried the reset a few minutes ago and it didn't help, still says error.
Any suggestions?
I have tried a few of the hotspot apps on the market, none have worked.
I found a thread on vzw community site with my exact same problem.....
http://community.vzw.com/t5/Samsung-Galaxy-Nexus/Galaxy-Nexus-Hot-Spot-issue/m-p/759470
Hoping someone on sad can help.
Phone is rooted on stock rom(4.02) and radios.
I flashed with Revolution Rom and was able to use my phone as a mobile ap without problems. I'm on just the plain 4gb data plan. Before flashing VZ blocks it because I'm not on a mobile hotspot plan. You ought to give that a try.

Peter Alfonso's "Bugless Beast" 4.0.3 rom supports native tethering as well (and is available right in Rom Manager) =)
If you're going to be rooting, then stop paying for hotspot you'll get it for free on custom ROMs (or stock ROM once devs figure out how to stop VZW from checking in on tethering).

[Q][Oddball] Google Wallet Can't Add Prepaid

Hello
I recently got my Galaxy Nexus and I am trying to use Google Wallet but running into a problem I haven't seen yet (A search revealed 1 other person with the problem but was able to resolve by wiping data from the app. This didn't work for me.)
I am running 4.0.4 AKOP build 29. I am unlocked and rooted. Wallet version 1.1-R52v7.
The app installs just fine. I have it linked to my google account. However, I cannot add a Google Prepaid card. It attempts to add for ~ 1min, then says, "Error adding card. Try again later."
I tried uninstalling / reinstalling. I tried the previous version. I also tried wiping the data from the app itself. Nothing has worked so far
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance.
Anyone? I'm very anxious to use GWallet!
You need to use a US credit card. View the adding funds thread for instructions that usually work.
Google wallet won't work if your rooted. Very disappointing.

I have this banner. I simply used superSU to get rid of it, so the phone it thinks it does not have root. However, with/without superSU it still does not allow me to add a prepaid card
Can anyone else shed some light on this?

So I called Google, they connected me to the money network. Guy took a quick look. It is something on their end nothing to do with my phone. He can see my IMEI trying to activate but erroring out.Was escalated to T2 tech support and I am waiting on a phone call back.
They called me back. Had me reset the app. Still nothing worked. This has been escalated now to T3 tech support. I was told I would get a call back tomorrow :-/
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue?

Just out of curiosity, has your IMEI number maybe reverted to Samsung's default number?
Reason I ask is because that happened to me while using my Nexus S and I had the same issue you're having.

I'm also experiencing this issue. So frustrating! I used to have Wallet on my phone...but I tried to reset it to get the extra $5 and haven't been able to get it back up and running since. That's what I get for being greedy!
If anyone has any ideas...it would be greatly appreciated. I've done almost everything: reset app, clear cache, uninstalled, installed older versions....cant get it for the life of me!

What do you mean Samsung's default number? I have came to the general conclusion that it something to do with the Money Network. They are blocking my phone, my IMEI, from connecting. I was able to login with my Google account on another phone just perfectly and get my prepaid card.

A while back I flashed a ROM to my Nexus S that corrupted my nv_data.bin file which in turn changed my original IMEI to Samsung's generic's. (004999010640000)
After that happened I was unable to re-use Wallet because Money Network's service will not allow that IMEI to work in their system, for obvious reasons.
Check the IMEI on your phone's back cover or box and compare it to the one in your Android's system. Hopefully they match. There's no solutions for the Nexus S currently. You'd have to send it back to Samsung. Good luck.
This happened to me even after Google fixed the provisioning of the Prepaid Card. I just kept Removing and Adding the Card. Eventually, after a couple of days it fixed itself. Try Resetting the App, Deleting Data, uninstalling, and then re-installing.
Money network finally got it working for me. I believe they did a master reset. It now works

Does Google wallet work using an MVNO?

I'm thinking of buying a galaxy nexus, but I'm on at&t cell provider called straight talk (mvno).
The only question in my mind right now is if I will be able to use google wallet under the MVNO
It would be great if someone was in my same circumstances and give me some information. Any help would do.

Google Wallet is just an app and its not Network/Carrier driven.
I understand that, but there was an article in engadget.com about it working on Tmobile, and they seemed surprised.
It COULD have been cause they got it from the Tmobile google play store (different networks have different play stores)
I just wanted to make sure, that I could use the NFC before I buy the phone

That is incorrect, cause skyrocket has NFC, icecream sandwich (or legitimate GB) , and can install apps. This is still not enough to use google wallet. It's said that the reason is, that it doesn't have a "secure element"

Your problem is most likely your apn is not set up correctly. When I first started using wallet with H2O wireless I had much the same problem. After deleting the apn's that auto populated and creating new ones with the correct settings my problems went away. I have since tried red pocket and Tmobile prepaid as well and have had no issues using wallet on any of them.

AT&T 3G/HSPA not working after Jelly Bean OTA

hi guys,
I have been a lurker for a while, didn't actually have anything meaningful to contribute (to create a new post/thread), i.e. until now!
Bought a galaxy nexus in April when Google started selling it on the Play store. I did not root it and/or modify it in anyway other than trying out a few apps I developed.
Given that background, 3G/HSPA data has not been working on the phone ever since I got and installed the Jelly Bean OTA update.
I thought I also had the Wifi issues that others are facing, but it turned out to be just a setting (Keep WiFi ON during sleep was set to NEVER by the JellyBean update, am pretty sure I didn't do it).
Do you guys have any clue as to what might be happening here? Any troubleshooting tips?
I am on the AT&T prepaid, data was fine until the JellyBean update. My friend with galaxy nexus also started having this problem post the OTA update, but he is AT&T post paid.
any insights???
thank you!
EDIT:
Also, I forgot to mention in my initial post ..
I get good signals and 3G or H also shows up next to the signal bars, but they are in grey.

I didn't call AT&T because I know thats exactly how they are going to reply. If you didn't know it before, AT&T claims the $50 unlimited talk/text/web is unlimited web only for dumb phones but for smartphones you`ll need a separate data top-up. However, I have been using 3G with the same SIM card from November 2011. I had a Nokia N95 till April and then bought the galaxy nexus.....I didn't add the data top-up.
So at first when I started having this problem I thought AT&T finally started blocking 3G on the nexus, but later found out that my friend who is also on AT&T but on a post paid contract also has this same problem from the day he got JB OTA.
Unfortunately, I never went to Phone Information settings until after I got the JB update, so I do not know how it was before the OTA. .

"vzwavsservice" FCs

Hello -- I was trying out a MDM in the office on my G3, and after disassociating my device with it, I started getting FCs on "vzwavsservice". Mainly when the phone boots up. I can't really find any information online as to what this actually does. I have just disabled it. I have not noticed anything different or malfunctioning on my G3.
Anyone have any ideas what it could be? Obviously it is some sort of VZ Addon...But wondering what its functionality or reasoning is.
Thanks in advance.

I'll be honest. After I posted this, and I froze/disabled this "Service"...I haven't noticed anything not working or acting funny. I would say this is safe to disable. It is likely some type of Verizon add-on.

Try opening the verizon mobile application (the app you would use to check your data...etc)...
Does that give you an error after logging in?
I think that is what it is for...
I started getting this today too. Most of my Verizon stuff is frozen however. Wonder if VZW is pushing an OTA today. Those of us getting it, are we all rooted?
I just got this force close today after updating some apps on the play store. Posting in the Verizon LG G3 section might get more responces.

You can disable the VZWAVSService without being rooted. Which likely means it is really really pointless.
I get it sometimes on stock unrooted, but also always when I have stuck a T-Mobile or ATT sim in the Verizon LG G3.
VZWAVSService caused by Google+ Update
The VZWAVSService error ceased when I went to application manager and uninstalled the Google+ updates.
Once the updates were uninstalled, my mobile hotspot and USB tether functions returned.
It seems that this service is an address verification process. This explains why, when my phone checked my subscription status for Mobile Hotspot and Tethering service, the functions did not activate.

My hotspot service works with VZWAVSService disabled. I do not think that hotspot and this app are related since I had also disabled this service on my Galaxy S3 for months and the hotspot service still worked the entire time.
I have a Verizon LG G3. I just uninstalled the Google+ updates and reverted back to an "Original Version" to see if that goofy message will cease to continue. I am rooted and i have Wifi Tether Router installed. I used Stump Root to root the device.

Just freeze the app, you can even do it in the stock settings. Vzwavservice-Verizon's anti virus software that McAfee makes and it is strait garbage.
The 11c update fixed this issue?
After flashing beans 11c and using if for a while I realized that I had not re-frozen vzwavsservice. It isn't closing on boot anymore. I believe Verizon fixed this issue in the latest software release.
