I dont think that is the reason, but Android 2.3 has this behaving for the batterystatus. This is reported on every phone running Android 2.3.x.

Its normal. When u unplug charger its not 100% but 99,9993034534645 So battery shows 99% I have it also

This is not the way to work the math hehe; if the number is equal or higher than 99.5 then it should show up 100 otherwise if lower , then shows up 99. So I think its a firmware trouble like someone before have said.

Lol both wrong the lipo battery does not like to be pushed to hundred percent continually.
So its got to be cut of at 99 percent ;-)

There is no problem, this is by design, so there is nothing to be fixed.

Losing 5% battery every three seconds

Hi guys,
My gio is losing battery at incredible speed - 5% every few seconds, and it's not even hot.
Whatever the rom, the kernel I put on it it's the same. I have tried to discharge-wipe battery-full charge a thousand times. I'd have thought the calibration was faulty here but I have tried Battery Calibration with no result.
Something weird is that on Battery Calibration it says it's at 4mV. Shouldn't it be more ?
It always stays at 4mV.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks...
Turn off mobile data when you're not using it, saves lots of battery

It's not about mobile data or wifi or anything, it's just unnatural to lose that much battery ! It's not even heating.
Maybe your battery died?
My sisters battery exploded and caused the same **** :/

Yeah that's my last resort but I would prefer to fix it myself, this will take ages =/
By the way is there a flash counter on this device ? If I just flash a stock rom I'm good to go ?
at me its just when i use it , scroll for music/youtube / browser/msn , it goes down very fast , like 4-5% in 1-2 min , but if i keep the screen off and i dont use mobile data network/wifi/BT i can listen music for over 10 hours with no stop (I tested it) it something with battery or what ?

discharging at that rate without any heat means a single thing: battery is of very low capacity.
My phone last usually 3-4 days on a charge, but without any use it will last 10-13 days. Using camera of any stressful game will discharge the battery 5-10%/minute, but in the same time phone gets hot.
what's about cpu usage, do you checking how many process was running?
No flash counter?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!
The heck that means I can always get warranty if something happens mwhahaha. Lol I'm a loser sorry. But that's actually awesome. Mine would be at like 50 if it had one.
Sent from my GT-S5660 using XDA
True, just make sure that you flash a stock rom when going to service center, and no custom recovery, kernel, root etc, these all wipe when flashing a stock rom

My wife's Gio has the same problem (fast power drops, 3-4mv,...).
At the moment I didn't find a solution yet.

don't use your phone
and set clock speed low, maximum 600 min 100 or something, maybe even lower..
Have you got the official gio firmware? if not try to install it & do full battery stats/data wipe...maybe the problem can be a bug in your current ROM.

Actually, booting into recovery did nothing dude. I experience this problem just about everyday.
I think its the way the battery percentage is calculated. The battery is actually charged beyond 100%, but the phone will keep on showing 88 and move extremely ( or not move at all) slowly.
You just need to restart your phone once, and that'll bring up the battery count right up to the correct reading

use genuine battery and test. If you not solved it than it's hardware phone or cooke rom (if you use)

It is not a battery related problem. I have the same issue:
- tried different battery form another phone that works fine and gets drain quickly on my phone
- tried a brand new Sony battery that drains up on my phone and works well in another "known good" arc S
- if you take out the battery from the phone a put it back in after 5 hours the battery is still ok
- if you just turn off the phone - the battery will continue his depletion and will be fully discharged in 4 hours
- I opened the phone and took a thermal image of the board on an off and there is a hot spot around the Compass IC
- however Compass is working fine
- it still could be a SW issue that could have brought he phone to operate in a configuration that activates sections of HW with conflicting level of voltages causing a current path at low impedance dissipating a lot of energy
- I wanted to do a factory reset but did not manage to do it right now for lack of time - will do in the next couple of days and let you know
- another potential problem could be related to the Power Supply IC PM80xx which could be damaged and would need replacement

Battery Drain .. any advices

guys i have too much battery drain
Android System 20%
Android OS 10%
im on ARHD 31.2 Stock kernel and i installed it with all wipe types
and didnt activate the blinkfeed yet
any advices
cause i'v seen people says that sense 5 improved their battery life !
You don't understand what the stats are telling you. Firstly, the stats you cite are the percentage of battery USED, not USE. Besides, if you actually used your phone, you would see other factors recorded in higher proportion (such as Screen).
If you really believe you have drain, search for Best Battery Stats and install then carefully follow the advice in the thread dedicated to BBS. None of this is cutting edge stuff.

Apps like that close processes that are currently running before they are finished and then android starts them up again.
Then starts the closing restart cycle and it's bye bye battery.
My had advice would be to remove/disable apps you don't use.

With me it's exactly the same thing!
I tried the same steps for you: With 50%, the phone hangs up.
What if I restart it with 70% it back to 20%.
I suspect we have problem with the battery level sensor.
I bought another phone.
