Tmobile Samsung Galaxy S II battery same size as Galaxy Nexus LTE battery!! *2/28* - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I just received my Hyperion batteries (a whopping $35 for 2 + charger, ack! ) and they are the same size as my brother's Galaxy S 2 batteries! They even say Galaxy S II on the back of them!

I think the Galaxy Nexus battery sellers are totally gouging people and marking up "Galaxy Nexus" batteries because it's for a "flagship" phone! So, we can save some money by buying SGS 2 batteries since they both look pretty much identical and are the same!
These ones look like they would fit perfect! And cost only ~$4 each compared to the "Galaxy Nexus" batteries which costs $18 each!

They even have the NFC Antenna built in!!
More pictures:
PLEASE NOTE: This compatibility is between the LTE Galaxy Nexus & the TMobile Galaxy S II
I'm guessing that the battery for the Sprint Galaxy S II should be compatible as well. Anyone wanna buy the Sprint ones and let us know? It's a $12 gamble.

Just an FYI, i have an I777 and ordered similar batteries that said they have NFC but didn't. So don't expect for your batteries to have NFC; however, i can say that they do deliver on backup time.

Putting in a complaint to the seller ... don't think anything will come of it since the descriptions doesn't mention NFC and the pic shows 'noar field', so I can't even claim they lied, lol

So it looks like the sprint sgs2 has only 3 contacts and while the battery fits, its about 1/4" shorter. So it would work with a spacer to keep the contacts of the battery touching, but not a direct fit

Mostly likely not, battery voltages are never constant. They have the highest voltage when they are fully charged and then it slowly drops. Since these Chinese knockoffs almost never live up to their printed "specs" the real voltages are probably lower.

Well, my friend's already been using his Tmobile SGS 2 batteries for about a week now and they work just as good as the OEM batteries.

So, really, they have the NFC antenna?!

Im considering buying them , any decent reviews on them yet ?

I have a gsm nexus and the gs2...the batteries are not the same...galaxy nexus have a taller battery.
Edit: now that i've watched closely, it says on the battery label T-mobile version...please note that the internacional version of samsung gs2 does not fit the gsm nexus.

Thanks, I updated the original post to let people know.

I'd probably update the title to include LTE Galaxy Nexus = TMO SGSII BATTERY.
Good to know. Although I have a standard battery and back plate sitting in a box not used since I'm using the Extended battery.

thats so gay cuz if you had a t989 s II tmobile can send u new batteries for $7.00 all you pay is shipping costs.... and they are stock samsung batteries... i wish the gsm versions used the same ones! my battery dies so fast in this phone =(

I want them, but the seller is out for Chinese New Year until Jan 29.

Looks like the Sprint Galaxy S II battery should work with the LTE GN as well! Anyone wanna be the first to test this out?

Anyone wanna buy one of these and test them out?

$3 + $1 s/h = $4
notice that it says: "noar field communication"
this could still have the NFC and be a type-o or it could not have the NFC. We won't know until someone buys it and tests it. I may buy it myself in a few weeks. I just bought 2 x hyperions for way too expensive ($18 each!) and those don't have NFC for sure.
If not having NFC is no big deal to you, it might be worth buying one to test. Don't forget to let the community know!

Just bought one, I will give it a try and let everyone know.

what kind of run time are you getting compared to your previous battery? Can you do some tests to compare whether or not its just a fake label?
Im really starting to consider buying two of these with a wall charger. At first I was all about the seidio 3000mah at $70 but I cant justify spending $70 on a battery, granted they are a reputable company. At $10 per this seems to make more sense.

I think another full charge and battery reset should show longer run times. Will report tomorrow. Going to also try to find a scale this weekend.

2x1900mAh Battery + Wall Charger = £10.25 free p&p

Thought I would share this nice find.
I wasn't too sure about it, however the seller confirmed they would work, so i took a punt.
1900mAh Battery x2 + Main Wall Charger for Samsung i9250 Galaxy Nexus
They fit perfectly in my O2 UK version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus
One in my phone right now, the other in the wall charger.
So they aren't NFC's... but I am thinking a tenner for two batteries and a charger, cant be bad. I'll keep an eye on the charger so it doesn't burn my house down.
I am running a calibration using Battery Left PRO, to see how it compares with my stock battery. My stock has 25hrs full life

Thanks, for the post, I'm interested in knowing if they hold as long as the stock battery or if they just printed a 1900mah on it. There's another ebay ad for a 2300mah which looks exactly the same as the battery here. I'd be surprised if they can get that capacity without increasing the size of the battery.
Of course for the price, I'd just be happy if it had the same capacity as stock.
Definitely need something like this, I couldn't care less about NFC at this point.
early rough calibration, is telling me it has at least as much at the stock.
I plan to calibrate them both, and i do it thoroughly until "accurate" so it'll take several days.
but i shall report back
defo this it was a wise investment at just a tenner
Wonder if they will work on the USA LTE version

What do you think?

Cdma battery alternative *confirmed*

So, we all know the CDMA GNEX takes a beating with LTE. but its worth it.
I always stock up on the batteries. did so on every nexus, with wall chargers, never used my usb, very great hot swapping.
Welllll.......my brother who has a TMOBILE GALAXY S 2 was charging his phone one day and i popped open the battery just so see the battery size comparison, it was insanely similar.
So i put the Gnex battery in the battery charger he has. SUCCESS....charges it.
Then i put HIS battery in my Gnex (sounds gross)
IT WORKS!
so this can be a great add on in terms of purchasing... IT HAS AN NFC CHIP IN IT GUYS..and I CONFIRMED IT WORKS. used my gnex with my gf nexus s and beamed one another.
here is one great! package...charger and battery (1850mah)

Not sure why this is a big deal? The only batteries you'll be able to use are ones that are the same size as the Galaxy Nexus' default battery, because anything larger will require a larger back cover... which you wouldn't get with it.

Fact is. This IS good news as the demand for the sg2 will come down faster than the gnex.

Galaxy Nexus battery;
3.7V - 6.85Wh
Galaxy S II battery;
3.7V 6.66Wh (or 6.11Wh , depending on battery)
so yes it'll work, just since the 'Wh(Watt-hour)' is slightly less, it'll die.. well, "slightly" faster.
if you're going to bother doing that though how about try this battery out:

and I'm a jackass why?
I'm simply pointing out that this isn't a big deal because batteries made specifically for the Galaxy Nexus LTE are readily available... its not like they're not and the only way to get extra batteries is to use a SGSII version. And anything higher capacity (for example a 3500mAh version) would require a specialized back plate for the Galaxy Nexus anyways. So having a SGSII battery with no back plate is useless.
If you're buying authentic Samsung batteries either way (SGSII or GN) you're hardly saving money. Just buy the real GN battery...

i personally can't justify buying a so-called 'extended battery' that's only 250mAh more then the stock. i'm used to extended batteries being nearly double that of stock(and what i expect from one). it's not about money though as when i had my thunderbolt i bought the mugen 4500mAh battery for it and that thing was nearly $120 at the time.
for now i'm holding off until a proper extended comes out and in the meantime, if i'm running low on juice i have this portable battery pack to plug in to it:

First impressions are that it's a sung fit in the battery compartment, but battery appears to work well. It's only one day old so we can't tell if it lasts any longer yet.

UNBELIEVABLE! $3 eBay battery better than stock! Buy yours now!

Today I received the following battery from eBay:

Long story short: It really seemed fishy at first, then I had used the battery for 11+ hours and battery life is at 33% atm :good:
I watched youtube vids for at least half an hour, played real racing for an hour and every often I kept on browsing the web. Battery is AWESOME and looks like it really is 1950mAh. My brand new Samsung original battery lasts shorter than this battery
The battery comes in a nice bubble wrap with a good quality sticker protecting the battery pins. Really can not understand still how something like this can be this high quality yet this inexpensive. Gives my $29.99 Original battery a HUGE run for its money

Hey. The battery works like a dream
2 weeks and no problems getting 8-12 hours with some youtubing and gaming. Using JellyBam 10.1, it took 3 weeks to come to canada

Hey, compared to the original1650mah battery from Samsung, this seems to last about 1 hour or 2 more. I am using the battery at the moment

Then it seems that 1950mah is only sticker on it, 1-2h difference is coming from that the original battery you had is old and new one is just fresh...

Used this battery for almost 2 weeks, so far so good. :good:
thanx for the info on the battery.. will get one for me and one for my wife..
i bought this battery a month ago nothing special
just a cheap second battery and in no way 1950 mah
don't get me wrong for 3 euro it is awesome
The only fear is from explosion or something like that with replaced battery.
Just bought 2 from a seller on fleabay uk at £3 each, difference is mine dont have the samsung brand but instead have smaller "For Galaxy S2" printed on both sides, maybe samsung is finally doing something about all the fake sammy batteries being sold and genuine buyers getting stung, i fully understand that oem batteries are in most cases cheaper and can be as good as the original but if it says samsung it should mean genuine samsung and not have a half truth half way down a sellers listing saying packed in bubble wrap not a genuine product and no mention of any warranty whatsoever, still fleabay wont enforce the "genuine non genuine" listings because they claim they cannot police every seller !doesnt stop them taking their fees from every seller though.
haha awesome
yap, its cheap ,
I buy some different brand for S2,
but stock bat. usually have more cycle life than other :cyclops:
Huh! Going to order this..
