[RECOVERY] CWMR 5.0.2.7 for the SGHI927(R) - Alpha - Samsung Captivate Glide

I have ported CWMR to the I927(r) device.
Here are the instructions, prepared for me by CarpeNoctem who was instrumental in the testing of this port. Thanks to him for providing me with all the files. This is a RECOVERY that does not rely on it being in a kernel, so you can use this with any kernel you like.
---
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
1. Launch odin (v1.82 tested)
2. Boot your phone in "Download mode"
3. Select PDA in odin and choose the file "CWMR_recovery.tar.md5"
4. ONLY "auto reboot" must be check !!
---
This is considered an ALPHA build as it has only been tested on a few handsets so far. Flashing this means that you acknowledge this fact. Please help test it by using it and reporting any problems that you might have.
The file for ODIN is here: CWMR_recovery.tar.md5 OUTDATED
The source code (device tree) is on my github: android_device_samsung_SGHI927R
Feel free to modify this all you like, enjoy.
Credits:
koush for clockworkmod recovery.
carpenoctem/gabby131 for testing this out.

UPDATE:
I have migrated this device to the 5.0.2.7 source tree for clockwork.
v2: CWMR5x_i927_recovery.tar.md5

first! love utkanos

Thanks for all your work, you have been so great throughout this.

lol I recognize those instructions
I did not do much, just like to take some risks
Thanks for your work, patience and determination !

Works like a charm. Thank you.

yeah! CWMR is official!
Thanks to utkanos for all the CWM work and being patient on giving me step-by-step instructions (for I am a super noob!), Carpe for bricking his device just to give us root and being always the first guinea pig, and to future devs and testers.
I also want to thank vil33 for finding utkanos, and being amazed for my 1GB data on my first CWM backup LOL!

UPDATE:
I have migrated this device to the 5.0.2.7 source tree for clockwork.
v2: CWMR5x_i927_recovery.tar.md5
This is considered an alpha release, please test this on the new codebase and report any problems (if any).

Installed with no problems.

Easy to install and works great! Thanks for your work.

What's the 3 button, is it just +/-/power?

Do you mean the buttons used to navigate in CWM? Volume is used to scroll and power to select. I believe you can use the other keys too.

it's only 2 buttons.
Vol down + Power = CWM
Vol Up + Power = Download mode

Seems to work perfectly here so far, thanks very much for making this available!

Wait, so what is the point of this CWM? I'm sorry, quite new to Android.

Thank you so much,it was so easy and fast to install.

Thanks so much for everything guys!

It replaces the stock recovery of your Android device. It adds many more feautres such as backup/restore, flashing custom roms, etc.

Fix Permissions
could you please add the Fix Permissions feature in the Advanced menu ? I'm not sure how difficult that would be but it would be handy i think.
Thank You for all you've done

Include GPT tools
Nice work!
Next release include please parted utility.
Would be nice to have some GPT management tool.
--
Code:
<4>[ 7.293135] Primary GPT is invalid, using alternate GPT.
<6>[ 7.293252] mmcblk0: p1 (...S) p2 (...P) p3 (...C) p4 (...S) p5 (...C) p6 (...A) p7 (...M) p8 (...S) p9 (...X) p1
0 (...A) p11 (...D)
managing it using parted seems a bad idea
perhaps there is a loader or so in the first sectors, right?

mount external sdcard to /sdcard
Can you please mount external sdcard instead of internal one.
/etc/fstab:
Code:
#/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 /sdcard vfat rw
/dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /sdcard vfat rw

Thanks for the update, would not have known otherwise. I'm not adventurous enough though as i've got a Bell i9000m and woried about mine getting bricked again for the 4th time heh. Any bell users try this though?
I advise that only people who know can read instructions should use this, random reboots is quite annoying at times. There are also quite a lot of bugs. Can't wait for the guys to fix all the big bugs. Hopefully not to long now
guys where can i find spedmod k12n becouse harcdcore doesnt have it uploadet anymore...

inside galaxy initial package there is speedmod kernel...
speedmod-kernel-k12n-500hz.tar is included in cm7-galaxys-initial-package.zip.
it's just for the efs backup. the kernel will go away after this.

We've tested this one. But you can use any kernel which uses cwm recovery.
just a quick question guys..
am i right to say flashing this rom is like flashing any other rom on xda and if anything happens i can just use CWM or ODIN to reflash/unbrick the phone? will it like permanently brick or "destroy" my phone in any way?
Is the camera Working now?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
You are right if you have any problem, just reflash a Samsung ROM in Odin.
BUT I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO DO THAT ONLY IF YOU HAVE PERMANENT DOWNLOAD MODE.
I am a tester of this ROM for 2 weeks now and the ROM is pretty stable.
EDIT : READ ISSUES LIST.
By the way: I'm looking for a bricked i9000 to test some bootloader stuff.
Anyone here with a bricked i9000?
no market in it...
Are you BLIND ?
+ DID YOU EVER USE CYANOGEN ?
+ Read the damn post by Codewokx on CM FORUM and you will have market...

Back to my previous point, you should not use this if you cannot read.
Have anyone tested camerafun with CM7? I remember that camerafun was the only camera app that actually had colors (on preview) on CM6.1. So maybe it works om CM7 too?

Please do NOT post bug reports on any issue tracker for these builds. Report bugs here code.google.com/p/cm7leo
All source code is available at the CyanogenMod Github! If you'd like to to contribute to CyanogenMod, checkout Gerrit instance.
These builds REQUIRE ClockworkMod Recovery 3.x. If you use ClockworkMod Recovery 2.x to flash, it will not boot.
Additionally, ClockworkMod Recovery 3.x CAN NOT BE USED to flash CM6. You will have to downgrade ClockworkMod Recovery to 2.x if you want to switch back to CM6.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- First time flashing CM 7 to your HD2 (or coming from another ROM)?
1. Unlock/root your device and install MAGLDR
2. Flash ClockworkMod Recovery 3.x
3. Do a Nandroid backup!
3. WIPE
4. Install the ROM
5. Optionally install the Google Addon
- Upgrading from earlier CM7?
1. Do a Nandroid Backup!
2. Install the ROM (your Google apps will be backed up automatically)

any news on getting this official?

Can anyone else confirm this doesn't work out the box for CLK. I had to install tytung_r8 to get this to boot.

He's saying not to post bugs in issue trackers because we're not official CM7, this forum is not an issue tracker.

CPU Settings in the Performance menu not working, WiFi still errors. Apart from that, it seems to work pretty well, though I suspect the ambient light sensor isn't working too well either, it seems overly bright.

Well, that's it for now - we technically don't maintain the recoveries, so you'll have to talk to the folks that support them directly. This particular one is the stock CM recovery that we added external_sd support to and it is build with the proper SELinux capability to prevent the reboot of doom seen with the CM10.1 based recoveries.
Ohhh yeah, just saw this drop on g+. Downloading now, thanks for the hard work. Will report back once up and running

If you do that, you are on your own. The 10.1 recoveries do not know how to deal with the SELinux capable file system properly. You can run into some major snags that way.
This recovery, although it's very basic, works just fine for flashing zips and taking backups. Plus, it is the only one right now for the Hercules and Skyrocket that correctly works with the new filesystem for 4.3

No sweat man, I"m sure it's only a matter of time before the appropriate changes are made to TWRP and CWMR Touch. Our device is a bit of an oddball in how the storage volumes are setup, so this issue was really unique to us with 4.3
Woohoo! Thanks devs! This phone will remain me for a long time to come so this gives me a smile
Once again, thanks and I will flash and report back :good:

so far so good, just missing the options to disable touch keys from lighting up. Going back to 4.2.2 until mainline nightlies show up.Also lack of TWRP is upsetting.
Thanks for the work you've been doing for us!! Can't wait for a dayly driver!
The only bug I've been able to spot so far is that there is still a reboot issue when accessing the external SD card from a gallery app. I can use quickpic just fine, but once I hit the SD card folder, the phone locks up and inevitably reboots.
Other than that, this is a very good alpha build of Android 4.3! Great work TeamChopsticks!

The recovery link isn't working.... anyone have a mirror that isn't d-h.st?
Edit: Finally downloaded...
Edit: anyone know if advanced settings are making a come back any time soon?
Man, I feel so late joining the 4.3 party.
Anyway, just flashing the CWM for CM10.2 now. Its not TWRP but as long as I can still revert back to my nandroid backup made with TWRP in case things go wonky, I'll be fine.
So far, CM10.2 alpha builds for Hercules runs great: feels a bit smoother than 4.2 and faster.
4.3
Thanks so much for the hard work devs this is great!!!
There is a NFC wakelock issue with the latest 10.2 rom, as shown by BetterBatteryStats.
NfcService:mEeWakeLock - 87.7%
I cannot turn off NFC either.

[RECOVERY] TeamWin Recovery Project for A3000-H [v2.8.30]

PREAMBLE
Team Win Recovery Project 2.x, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
NOTE: I have built and tested this on my Lenovo A3000-H (16 GB version with 3G) with the a3000_prc_3gfull board/partition table. This is not going to work with FUSE devices!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this recovery image
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
I'll keep this thread short and simple. Want a changelog or a list of features? Then visit teamw.in.
DOWNLOAD
You can always get the latest build from here. You can flash them using an already existing recovery or by extracting and flashing it using SP Flash Tool.

Where download-link?
Well, I really want to install that, but this internal storage bug is really major.. What's a recovery software is good for if it can't flash things?
..And where is that link? ?

I just bought this tablet, is bootloader unlocked? I got a 4gb version of the A3000, can I normally fastboot flash recovery twrp.img?
Download link?
I just got Lenovo A3300-T Tablet from China, and I want to wipe off all things on that and just install some custom OS. Can some one please help me with the same.
Is A3300 same as A3000 as this post points to A3000 only. Please help me as I am having really hard time with this tablet.

No. This is for A3000 and has only been tested on A3000-H.
Can you help me find it for Lenovo A3300-T Tablet. I want to install custom OS on that but not able to find it's recovery.
I'd give feedback if I found the download link, but I haven't.

The last one there is, of 9-26
I flashed, and when I enter recovery I stuck in bootloop
A new build (TWRP 2.8.1.0) is up, it works just fine (I have fixed all of the bugs). Do note it will only work on a3000_prc_3gfull devices! I have also added a download link to the OP since you guys don't seem to like DevDB...

Sir @Olivier I am on build A3000_A422_013_025_140626_WW_CALL_FUSE....... previous version of recovery worked for me.....except emmc bug.......now I see that you have fixed the bug but the new update doesn't even boot on my device.....I know that you mentioned it will only work on pgrc_3g_full......and I am not on the same.....but I would just like to request a port to the above build number because......your cm11 also installs quite nicely over This build as reported by other users in cm11 thread.....I would love to help with beta testing if needed.....thanks in anticipation.....and I got this build by installing azam426's posted rom and then installing a little ota update.....
Keep up the good work..sir......great respect.....:good:
Do not do a full wipe. IMEI number has deleted the possibility. Deleted my imei i can't write imei. :/
Reupload please, because link is dead
reupload pls

hovatek support added with this commit https://github.com/oguzbakir/twrp_device_xiaomi_olive/commit/68c2e8a6f0af7dc58c328f74355a2b90c01b6ac9 Further builds will have support for truly touch.
BOARD_BUILD_SYSTEM_ROOT_IMAGE flag is needed only on a/b devices i think. This device is not an a/b device, it is an Aonly device.

I can confirm that touch works.
Maybe I'm just stupid, but I can't get the recovery to stay. After flashing I went straight into recovery and I allowed modifications, then I went back to system to download Magisk and when I went back to recovery, the stock came up.

Download magisk zip first. Then boot into recovery and flash magisk zip. Recovery will be permanent now.

Thank you for doing this.
Yep, that worked! Just out of curiosity, is it a bug or do you now need root to have permanent custom recovery? I know that on my old phone this wasn't needed.

It is just restoring stock recovery. I think there is another way to get a permanent TWRP. After flashing TWRP, reboot into recovery again and TWRP will be permanent.
Hello, please add treble support and system-as-root support, for flash custom gsi firmware
(Stock recovery supported treble and system-as-root)
