Good Wired Headset? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

I usually listen to the music over my Note...
Could anyone advise a good sound quality wired headset with full compatible microphone & its control with Galaxy Note?

initially wanted to get Klipsch S4A for Android but read somewhere that it might have compatible issue with some Samsung Android phone. So do beware if you are getting this.

these sound awsome for music
http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/hf2.html
and can be got for as little as £65

Thanks friends for you all recommended...
However, I have see many wired headset in iPhone shop with vary price level & quality.... if they compatible with iPhone, can it also compatible with Note? (I see they using the same connector type)

You have to choose carefully
Tee3D - No! Not all headphones that work on iPhone will work with the Note. I have a pair of iLuv cheap headphones for the iPhone and they work fine with it. The headphone has a mic and phone/music controls that work fine on an iPhone, but not all of the controls work on my Note. You have to check carefully.

I just bought Klipsch promedia.
http://www.klipsch.com/promedia-in-ear
Sound quality is very good, they are comfortable and music control works well.
1 click for play/pause, 2 clicks for next track.
You can also install from market klipsch control which allows you to control the volume too.
I paid klipsch promedia 45€..very very good for that price

If you are not looking for high-end audio quality (which I suppose you can't really get with the Note, given the rather less-than-good audio circuitry implementation), I would suggest to give the bundled headphones a try. I've been using them from the start and I find them quite decent.

Thanks all friends for advises & comments

There better than awesome and the mic is the best I've used as well.

the Op asked for a wired headset with the full control (mic, vol, stop, play, next track) of the original headset - as far as I have researchrf none of those recommended do that without tricks or using software solutions. can anyone recommend a headset they are using that are good and have the mic and all controls for the note? I just lost my original samsung note headset. Or does anyone know a place that has a discounted or reasonable price on the the samsung original headset - I can't find them when I google for it.

Skull candy 50/50 got it from apple store although fwd/rewind/nxt/previous track buttons not working ' i am happy '.
Sound quality Its awesome.
Also mic and play/pause button is functional.

AKG 450s sound absolutely amazing with music. They are a set of portable headphones that are on offer at the moment for £40 GBP on Amazon, which is £60 off from the £100 price-tag (itself a cut from a £150 price tag). They fold up and you can buy an accessory set with volume control and a microphone for use on mobiles. These things knock the socks off of Beats!

Try this android with volume control works

Headphones....

Did this thing not come with headphones? I don't have any in my box....
Every review on the web shows the same. This phone simply wasn't packaged with some...it's likely that you'll already have some anyways or you'll eventually get a better pair than they would have ever packaged.
You're probably right but I wanted to test out the FM Radio real quick and low and behold...
The no headphones is surprising, but with a retail cost of 450.00, you can't expect much. I would rather pay less and skip the headphones and mini hdmi cable than pay for them and not use them. I like the headphones I already own. Bundled headphones generally suck anyways. At least my iphone headphones suck that is.
i have these
i love these headphones
http://shop.v-moda.com/p-46-vibe-ii-w-mic.aspx
Also if you wana go alittle cheaper then the V-moda Vibe II, the V-moda Faze are extremly good too, thats what i ended up getting, they run about $49.99 and exellent sound quality and build!
I use super cheap OEM blackberry headphones I get off ebay for like $3 a pair. As far as comfort and sound quality go they seem way better than the other super cheap and kinda nice headphones I have
There's better IEM headphones than any of the V-Moda models for less $ or about the same price imo... MEElectronics M9P, Nuforce NE-7M, Maximo iP-HS5, etc. Head-Fi.org is a great resource for all things headphones. I just bought the MEElec M9P last week and I've been trying 'em out today, I got 'em for $22 w/S&H but I think they went back up in price to $35 (the others are around $50).
I think they're a noticeable step up in quality from the other mic-less IEMs I already had, Sennheiser CX300 and JVC HA-FX34 Marshmallows... Those two are fairly common at retail stores so if you've ever owned either of them you have a fairly good point of reference.
After reading a few threads at HF I ended up w/the MEElec because of the relative SQ to price, and the fact that they have one of the best cords of any IEMs under $100... Hardly any microphonics at all, virtually none if worn over the head (microphonics = cord noise when it bounces or rubs against stuff). It's got like two layers or something (one of them is translucent so it's obvious).
Pretty high quality stuff, nice hockey-stick shaped plug, nice metal casings, comes with 5 different sets of tips (regular single flanges in three sizes and dual-flange tips in two colors) and a bunch of other accessories including a nice hard case that's slimmer than most of those types of cases I've seen. Highly recommended, I like them a lot more than my Senn or JVC (and I paid like $50 for the Senns around 5 years ago, $20 for the JVC recently). I've not been able to test the mic yet since my EVO hasn't arrived and I didn't feel like doing it with the iPod touch's sound recorder or something.

Does the V-Moda Faze have call answer functions?
EDIT***
I went ahead and bought the FAZE and wow, the sound is great and yes it works for answering/hanging up calls as well as playing music.
Anyone know/test normal apple ipod headphones? I have a pair and they're my usual set and I was wondering if any of the integrated controls (mic, volume up/down, push to pause etc.) work or if anyone knew.
Today I went down to mobilecityonline located in Canal street and purchased the Sony Ericsson MW600 bluetooth stereo headset for use with my EVO 4G.
At the moment it is charging [at least 8hrs], but I wanted to know if anyone it using this particular device?
Once I get it up and running, I will let you guys know how compatible it is with the EVO. Hopefully all the functions will work and I don't have to return it.
update 06/08/10
Well with alot of playing around and trying a few different audio apps, I got the MW600 to function the way I wanted, which saved me from returning it.
My main concern was being able to use the controls on the device, and I was only able to do so with an app called bTunes.
I had no luck with the stock Android music player nor with another App called
Audio Player WithEQ Platinum
Although those two did play via the bluetooth unit, I was not able to use none of the control functions.
With bTunes, I was able to play, pause, and use the forward and backward functions.
On a side note, the headphones that came with the MW600 are very short, but they sound very good. I ended up using my Klipsch Image S4i which I was using previously with my 3GS.
Hope this meets you all well.
Cheers !

anyone have any experience with the inner ear apple headphones they cost 69.99$ i ordered a pair with my iPad(figured i could use em with all my gadgets)
The controls on the Ultimate Ears Superfi 5Vi's are able to pause/play music along with voice dial and answer/hang up
Those V-modo's look cool, but honestly for the price they lack key features:
1- IN-line volume control. not a digital one like iphone headsets, but a slider on it, like the OEM mogul shipped with.
2.- for that price, and especially since it is coated in so much metal, it should have an inline radiation deadener- nobody wants radiation from their phone being transmitted right into their eardrums, especially since the 3.5mm port on our evo's acts as the FM antenna --- that is just insulting
At least from my experience with this device....
You are better off with using bluetooth headphones that can do MP3 bluetooth decoding and using Meridian as the music player. The truth is that while the headphone out is decently clean, it has a relatively high output impedance and not much driving capability. You are much better off getting some headphones with imp between 32-60ohms and at least 97db efficiency and not getting something too nice to use direct.
There is also the issue of when this is hooked up with grounding loop noise if you hook up your headphones to the output. Why the engineers who would put together such a media centric device would not think of such simple things is beyond me, but the iPod does it too and it is a pure music player.
If you happen to use a headphone amplifier, then you can use what you want because the audio signal will likely be free of much ground noise and have a really nice spectrum to it (much better than even my line out was on my iPhone....though not better than my modded iPod Touch).
If someone wants to work on USB host audio drivers I would be elated, willing to help as well. I can even make a custom hardware I/O box for the Evo!
I bought the Bose in-ear ones from Best Buy. I'm going to return them though. The sound is not as vibrant and alive as from my stereo BT set (S9-HD)

Is the volume using the iphone headset loud enough for you? I've tried it and it's too low and the people I'm trying to talk with sounds like they are fading in and out.
I'm thinking of returning since I can't even use it as a phone with the wired headset.

[Q] Help me!

I can't get wired headsets to work with my white mytouch 4g phone. I've tried diddy beata, bose, skullcandy, plantronics 216, and others. My phone shows the headset icon at the top, but the mic and controls don't work. I've gotten a warranty exchange on the phone, took. So, I'm wanting to know:
1.what wired headsets work for you?
2. Does it have more than one button controls?
3. What color is your phone?
Try the original headphones that come with the phone, if they don't work either goto your local tmo store with all your equip and see if they can't help you or exchange
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Did that
Original earphones work with controller and mic. That's what makes it even more confusing and frustrating. Even so,t mo did a warranty exchange and again, the box headphones completely worked, but no other one's did. When the 3rd party headphones are plugged in, the symbol shows its a headset, but the controls and mic functionality don't work. I have two going theories on 3rd party headsets for the mt4g, 1. Only one-button wired headsets work. 2. Something is goofy about a group of manufactured phones; ie one's made in china, whiter ones, etc.
People please help me with your responses on 3rd party headphones, as t-mobile and htc have neither been able to help!
Unfortunately, it looks like it only works with the stock headphones.
If you REALLY want to start working on this, i would suggest you root your device and begin cracking down at both the headphones and what is going on behind the scenes.
I've been searching for a while and still haven't found one that works as good as the stock (crap) headset.
Noticing pretty much ALL aftermarket headsets are made for apple and if they work with any android phones, you're lucky.
Use to have sony, but the only thing that worked was the headset for music. No controls and no mic. I'm currently using both the meelectronics m9p and the jlabs j3m along with PlayerPro. For the most part, the controls work ok, but the sound quality is way better than stock. Both has a single button.
For music:
can single click to pause/play
double click to skip forward
triple click to rewind to current song
quad click to go to previous
Single click to answer/end calls does not work. Instead, while on a call, a single click starts the music player.
None of the aftermarket headsets work entirely. From what I can find out, all the aftermarket 3 button headsets use the outside buttons for volume control.
If you're looking for the music controls, stick with your OEMs
If you're looking for better sounding headsets, any aftermarket will do.
If you're looking for both, go bluetooth. I use the MW600.
BTW. Black

Thanks well, that goes along with my other theory that only single buttons will w work. They need to make some simple adapter or s something. Stock headphones blow and hurt my ears. Don't want to use bluetooth because that sucks the battery down big time.
I'm told through htc that a3.5mm to micro usb may be a work-around. Will post if that works and if there's diminished sound quality.

That is what I've discovered; only single buttons will work. With power amp, long press erl skip the track. I haven't tried the skullcandy with single button with multi-function yet. However, I HIGHLY recommend the rf3 envi earbuds. Amazingly good sound with great bass and a patented technology that eliminates radiation from reaching your ears. Pretty cheap, too! Stol haven't tried the micro usb adapter yet

Okay, I'm posting this response as a service to all those infuriates out there struggling to find am explanation why we can't use headphones like everybody else. We find this out when its too later to do any refund and we convince ourselves that headphones are not a dealbreaker. Well, before I got the s4i's, I had pretty strong evidence that all headsets would not work impresa they only had one button (including those that boast several clicks do current things-although it won't on your phone). When the s4i came, the suspicion was confirmed. However, I was very disappointed by sound quality anyways, so not a big loss. I felt like I liked my headphones without controls for sound quality anyways. So, fellow mt4g users, jets what to do. The best headset with mic (you can still use the button to ffwd and pause) that I've found so far is the jbuds j4m. Very clear highs and mids, with decent bass. Very durable and look cool. Chord is a little long though. Better still is a bluetooth device made by cellular innovations found on amazon for about 30 bucks. Its a bluetooth with music controls that clips on your short or whatever and you can plug ANY of you favorite headphones into and listen to your tunes.

quality headsets with microphone

I looking to buy a quality headsets with microphone that will be compatible with my Galaxy S2.
I am thinking to buy the Zagg smurtbuds.
Do you know if they will work with the Galaxy S2? will the sound be good? the microphone will work? the controller will work with the Galaxy S2 player?
If this headsets are not compatible with the Galaxy S2, do you know about other alternatives?
Thanks!

Could you please elaborate. I'm pretty new to this so I apologize.
How would this work? Through bluetooth? RF signal?
Haven't bought any of the brands above so am not sure.
Also what kind of adapter with remote do I need to buy? (Name?)
Any links if possible would be great for both.
Thanks in advance!

Get a SonyEricsson MW600 bluetooth adaptor and plug any headphone you want in. It has Play, Pause, Back, Forward, Volume buttons and microphone. Problem solved.
Thanks for the quick response - will check them out. Which earphone would you say is the best on audio quality for listening to music (as well as using it for handsfree)?

The problem with Bluetooth remote's is that the audio stream get's compressed, so that kinda defeats the purpose of getting high end ear/headphones. As technology stands today, wired is the only way to go for achieving the best sound quality.
I suppose the real question is this:
For ear/headphone microphone sets that we know work with the SGS2 (such as the one that came in the box) which have four connectors, I suppose the next thing to try is to see whether or not ear/headphones designed for iPhones will work correctly. If iPhone designed headphones work properly (including all controls etc.) then this makes finding a decent pair of working earphones a HELL of a lot easier.
I think that the headsets that comes with the device are quality, dont you think so ?
yesterday i bought the "Bose MIE2" and they are just great.
link for the international site
there are not many controls. just one button that lets you pick up/hang up calls and play/pause/skip music. thats more than enough for me.
the sound is so great but the best thing is the design of the speakers itself.
there is something called "Stay here" attached to them, which makes it almost impossible for them to drop out of your ear.
this works so well that i am even considering to use them for sports too...
unfortunately they cost about 130€ which is a lot. but for me the quality makes it worth it!
So far i'm enjoying the phonak pfe122 on my S2. Sound level seems to have improved possibly due to better isolation and clarity is second to none
I haven't had the opportunity to try out as many earbuds as this guy but his opinion in iem/earbuds is very similar to mine
http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showpost.php?p=128853&postcount=1
I've bought A-Jays Four and for the price range they just sound amazing. As for inline remote, only middle button works, but thats enough in my case.

I recommend atomic floyd, a great product and exemplary customer service.

The MIE2I's are excellent imho, but like most others the volume buttons don't work with the SGS2.
Headset button controller app is workable and for me worth the hassle to use these headphones.
Mic works well. No one has complained about the quality when I call them.
Totally agree with nimroth. Very few earphones will stay in my weird ears, but these are perfect.

i meant a wired adapter not a bluetooth one, bluetooth is not reccomended for high end headphones especially because flac and uncompressed formats are of a way to high bitrate to stream correctly
if i meant bluetooth i would've said so , i haven't tested any with my sgs as i dont have access to any atm but what i would do is find the cheapest possible headphones with remotes that work maybe even old htc ones or something laying around, then cut off the headphones above the mic/remote section and attach a 3.5mm jack so i can use my Q-jays
least that is my plan.
the loss of quality from the extension will be negligible and either way the sound out of any phone cannot compete with high end audio device anyway, so if you really care about audio quality start carrying a Cowon player.

just for you in case you didnt know: there are two different models:
- the "mie2" only have the mike and ONE button for pause/play/skip/accept or end call (those are the ones i have)
- the "mie2i" are the ones for the iphone and have more buttons (like volume and stuff)
just like MarkyH said the mike-quality is really good (maybe because it is quite next to your mouth), but the volume controls wont work with the sgs2 and most other phones because of a different framework.
i decided to buy the mie2 because i dont mind the missing volume controls or the "one track back" button...
Thank you Nimroth and Also thanks to MarkyH..
Good to know that the headset mie2i works well i.e compatible with SGS2 except for the volume controller.
I've already one and I going to get SGS2 soon.
does the fm radio still work with the mie2i?

[Q] Headphones with in-line mic that work with Android/One X

I'm looking for some headphones, specifically in-ear ones, that work with Android and have a built in Mic and volume controls. I know that many of the ones made for iPod/iPhone don't work with Android properly so I want to make sure I don't make this mistake. I'm using ones from my SGSII. Work perfectly, nice deep base, mic works perfectly fine as well.
Overall, I'd say my SGSII headphones are surprisingly the best earbuds I ever had. To my ear, best frequencies.
So perhaps you can just buy SGSII replacement buds.
Beats in-ear earphones. At hmv they are reasonably cheap. I'm pretty sure you can find ones for less if you try gumtree or eBay. Just make sure they're genuine, Fake ones WILL break within a few days (past experience). http://m.hmv.com/product/details/171063 <---- those are really good quality, and well within your price range.

Bluetooth earphones

Hey guys, I'm looking for some bluetooth headphones and hope some of you have some experience and can help me.
Basically I'm looking for something like this: (just so you get a rough idea) http://www.desinformado.com/wp-cont...lantronics-backbeat-go-wireless-earphones.jpg
They should:
- be light
- Have a runtime of >=5 hours
- be easy to use while doing sports
- Not cost more than 60€
- have a play/pause button, maybe a next/previous song button as well
If you have any experience and can help me, I'd be grateful
ditto...
I'm interested as well...

SE MW-600?
I have been looking/googling for these last week.
SE MW-600 has many purpose. can be used for sports(in ear buds but still might fall). same with Samsung HS3000(cheapest of them all). There is also the Jabra clipper and jabra Sport.
with your budget of 60 euros, you can get the sample that you gave(Plantronics/there was one online with a hook). or you can find the one from motorolla (S10HD)but the reviews were not good regarding audio quality.
Just to give you a bigger choice: You don't need pause, skip etc. buttons.
One button is enough, then you can remap them for example like this: one click: play; two clicks; pause; long click; skip one click, long press; skip backward.
And as far as I know, Android doesn't support more than one button, so this is anyway nonsensical.
Hello,
I have 2 BT headphones, Sony Ericsson MW600 and Jaybird Freedom, I just the first at work and the latter in the gym, specially to run.
Feature wise, MW600 has that beautiful oled display which not only shows the phone number for incoming calls but also the artist/song name while listening to music. It also has 5 buttons for play/pause, next, previous, power, answer/hangup. The volume is controled in a "touch strip" so you slide your finger to one side to increase the volume and to the other to decrease it. Honestly I'd like better if there where regular volume buttons, instead of this "touch strip", but it isn't really a problem for me.
This headset has the advantage of having a 3.5mm connector for the earphone so you can easily replace it in case yours break or use the one you like better.
As for the Jaybird Freedom has no display, but has 4 buttons for play/pause, volume up/next, volume down/previous and power. The main advantage of this headset IMHO is his design, meaning that the whole unit (battery, earpieces, bluetooth receiver etc) are a single unit so you won't have any gadget dangling as you run or workout, it just stays in place, sturdy in my ear. The downside of this approach are the slightly bulk earpieces, but this don't bother me at all.
Sorry if the text got a little long, but I wanted to pass along my experience with these 2.
Edit: I use both with my Galaxy S II, but I also used it with the Motorola Atrix I had.
Best regards,
Fernando Toledo

Hey guys, I'm looking for some bluetooth headphones and hope some of you have some experience and can help me.
Basically I'm looking for something like this: (just so you get a rough idea) http://www.desinformado.com/wp-cont...lantronics-backbeat-go-wireless-earphones.jpg
They should:
- be light
- Have a runtime of >=5 hours
- be easy to use while doing sports
- Not cost more than 60€
- have a play/pause button, maybe a next/previous song button as well
If you have any experience and can help me, I'd be grateful

I have been using the Backbeat 903 from Plantronics for quite a while and I am very satisfied with it. It's not as tiny and the Backbeat Go but it is lightweight and got all buttons functionality. A search on ebay will land you prices less than $50.
Hope this helps
I'm using the Samsung Hs 3000 BT earphones. They cost about 30 Euro, are easy to use and perfect for sports! They can be fixed to clothes and even survived my washing mashine.
I had Plantronics Backbeat 903+ , I used them for running and biking but they aren't sweatproof and after some trainings I sent them back to the reseller because they started to work bad. I suggest H2O Audio products if you want something sweatproof and waterproof.
I found my Beats Bluetooth Headset fully functional on my Wanamlite ROM.
Inclues: Next and Previous Track, Play /Pause, Answer / Drop Calls and Volume Controls.
Makes my music life... wireless! XD
I've taken a look at all of them. H2o audio seems great, but I don't understand why they don't offer bluetooth headsets. They are making waterproof gear, but do not offer bluetooth for that???
Anyway, the jaybird freedom seems awesome, I'm going to get those, thanks man

Lg hbs 700
Been using the LG HBS 700 for the past year. Absolutely awesome!
Has play, pause, next, back and volume controls as well as a call buton which can allso be used for initiating a voice call via voice command.
Very light, doesn't look dorky and sweat resistant I would say,
Bought directly from LG on eBay for around £40 - seller not there anymore though.

Loving my new SE-MW600
I am using Jabra Street 2 and they are perfect for me.
I use the HM3700 by Samsung. Nice earphone. Excellent sound quality with two caveats:
The bloody app doesn't work for me but it does for others and the connector on the earphone is microUSB so when your battery FINALLY depletes (lasts for a tidy minute).... you're stuck without headphones as you can't use them without the bluetooth connector (which doubles as a monoheadset too).
It's ergonomic and comfortable though.
