Bounty for Google Wallet - Donate $10 for free - Currently $110 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I'm creating a bounty for the first developer that can get Google Wallet working on our phones. The beauty of this, and why everyone should join in, is that if a developer can get Google Wallet working, we each get a free $10. That's $10 we wouldn't have gotten without the dev's hard work. In essence, Google would be paying to fund development, as they'd be the one putting in all the money. So it will actually cost you nothing to pledge $10 for the bounty, so please consider pledging.
Of course, if you want to pledge more or less than $10, that's cool, too. The more pledges of any amount, the better.
Working will be defined as:
1) Anyone with a Samsung Galaxy S II T989 can install Google Wallet onto their phones, and if eligible according to Google, signup and receive the welcome $10 bonus.
2) Once Google Wallet is installed and properly setup, it can be used to pay for transactions.
Notes:
It is acceptable if installing Google Wallet requires rooting or a custom ROM.
Expires:
This bounty will expire the earlier of July 31, 2012 or when Google stops giving out the free $10 on sign-up. If there is promising work already partially done, we can discuss at that point if we should all chip in for a new bounty, but I want to give everyone who signs up for this bounty an opportunity to back out if either of these happens.
Contributors:
manekineko $10
audi_on_u $10
algorhythm $10
zweetz32 $10
adsadsadsads $10
unlvmike $10
degeneration $10
soicyboy $10
rodolfo7171 $10
jdyowa $10
nexus14 $10

I'll donate my 10... what's to lose..

Personally if i'm gonna donate for a bounty it would have to be something better than this. Our phone could use so much other work that this isn't on my radar. Good luck to those who are up for this, i'm not bad talking it, just think a bounty could go to better use. Good thinking of how it will essentially break even if we got it ported though.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium

While I wouldn't bet any money on it and it's just a hunch, I'm guessing Google Wallet will be much easier once we get ICS. So even though I'm very interested in Google Wallet, I'd almost rather see ICS first then bounty up for Google Wallet.

But if you'd rather donate for another bounty, you could still donate for this one too and break even.
There's no better use for the bounty, because if we don't get this, then nobody gets the free $10 to donate in the first place.
If we can get a bunch of people to agree to donate their Google $10 sign-up bonus, it's like it's Google that is funding the development, because they're the only ones putting in money.

I'll bite.

Google Wallet can't just by installed from the Market, that's the point of this bounty.
The only phone it comes pre-installed on is the Sprint Nexus S. However, it has been ported by devs on XDA to all Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus.
The only phones with NFC that don't support it are the Galaxy S2 variants as far as I know.
Once devs successfully port it over, then you can sign up using the app they ported, and there is a standing Google offer to give you $10 free for signing up.

Only thing is I don't think anyone is going to try this. But what the hell. Count me in.
There is enough hate in the world. Why can't we all get along here ...?

I guess I would offer up my free 10 bucks for the good of t989 kind.

I doubt that.
He's been basically using someone else's ROM, and calling it his own, just modifying it a bit. Maybe he got GWallet working, but if he's stealing without credit, no amount of awesome things would make me run it.

you can count me in for a $10 donation as well. i figured wth? its 10 dollars that i never had and an awesome feature to rub into iphone users.

so just to be clear, if we go into the store and use one of those payment kiosks we wont get the $2 charge right?
and to think you guys we're trying to make me feel bad about using 50gb/month.
A convenience fee is actually pretty common when paying bills online or over the phone, in my experience they've been closer to four dollars. That doesn't make it right by any stretch of the imagination though, frankly I'm surprised it has taken them this long.
Also misleading title is misleading as the linked article says they might enact a convenience fee.

Yup same. Many places charge a convenience fee if you don't auto pay or use an e-check. Colleges even do it but its a percentage...which blows. 3% sounds fine until you remember you're paying $4k a semester...$120 extra is not a small fee just because you don't autopay.

Best security app ever for EPIC4GT

Sorry for the shameless self promotion. But my Security app Root Defense was developed on the Epic 4G touch and unlike any other security app out there, it will allow you to continue to track your phone even if it gets wiped or a hard-reset by a thief.
It's almost impossible to lose your phone and it's completely free. You can subscribe if wanted for additional logging goodies.
It requires that you have a rooted phone (as most people have on XDA)
Please try it out and rate and comment on Google Play if you like it.
The Google Play page can be found here:

Yeah, Cerberus was a program created after ours that has many of the same features. Even including the 5 licenses for the price of one.
Root Defense comes with many many more features though and no user interface on the phone.
Basically its still free but with more features and a stealthier install.
Also ours shows the existing data of logs and location from before a phone went missing so you aren't in the dark when your device is off

Not emails, but most definitely texts, phone calls, and location. I'm not bashing this, just curious as to the advantages. I was one of the lucky ones who got Cerberus for free when they were doing the giveaway, just was wondering if it was worth... "upgrading"?

Root defense also is free and survives wipes and all the features the $4 a month is only if you wish to keep the logging features. All actually security features are free and always will be.
One of the major differences if the our free edition vs Cerberus is that our free version also keeps track of the last known coordinates.
What this means is that if your phone was stolen or lost and was either turned off or ran out of battery. Our product would show you where it last was and when it was there. Cerberus won't be able to show you anything as it needs to connect to the device each time to read data.
This is true of most fee or one-time fee programs because that's how they can afford it. In order to be helpful to people off-line, you need to store the data in a database which will quickly incur cost to developers (especially storing MMS messages.)
Anyway, different stroke for different folks. But keep in mind that after the trial ends, you still have (any always will have) all the free version features.
New version just released, check our main thread for details.

They are getting rid of it because you can use your own credit/debit card now with Google Wallet, so no need for them to keep the prepaid option.
I think the point was to have an option where people can just pay onto the 'cash account' at a retail POS like 7-Eleven as some people don't have a CC or debt card.

Not that $7 bucks is a lot, but paying double or even more than what was available is funny because it's sort of dumb. It's like if I go to a restaurant, eat, pay and order again but leave the food on the table.

It did not cost that much on the play store when I bought it. Where is you logic boy? So buying something at the original price is dumb? So I should wait until things I want to buy go on sale? Goodluck with that logic. Oh and haha cause you bought the note 2 and down the road someone will have purchased it for less. Idiot.

I don't get why you got so defensive because I wrote 'haha'. I wasn't rude, I wasn't offensive and if you took offense to my original comment, then you have some serious issues and you're probably one of those boyfriends that end up on the news for beating his girl cause she said hi to a guy, and if you're a girl, then you're probably ratchet.
If you can't take a simple non offense comment for what it is, then seriously get off the Internet.

I came here to make a point and ask a question regarding upgrades to the tmobile version of NFS. your response was not helpful yet very childish. I don't take offense but you have been a member since 2009 so you should know better. your analogy was so way off that I had to respond a second time. take a look at how many posts i have vs how long i have been on here. Only recently have I decided to post in response to Posts that are BS. why would i get mad? because i get an email when someone responds to a subscribed post and when all i see is "haha" it just shows how MODs and owners of this site have let it go to hell. Just so no one else has to read this, i will not respond but if you really have something to say Pm me. oh btw I am a 43 yr old male that yes would smack the **** out of a little kid that showed disrespect. have a good day!
Hey gramps, would you prefered if I had wrote 'lol'? Does that make it friendlier? Like I said, my comment wasn't hostile in any way shape or form, and if you took offense then get off the Internet cause the Internet is serious business. Such a shame that the world as degraded to the point that "haha" basically means the same as "**** you" because I always thought haha meant lol.
