Any extended batteries for Gio? - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

Im going to buy a new battery, original is 1350mah. I would like more. Is there any for Ace or Gio, since they have same battery?

Maybe this one (but quite expensive)?: http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...alaxy-ace-s5830-samsung-galaxy-gio-s5660.html

Yes its bigger in capacity, but it is too expensive for me.
Btw, how long battery life do you get with CM7?

Hi... It's quite expensive..
But it's worth it? It's not Samsung original... How long to loose durability ?

Depends on what you use, however most custom roms go longer then stock roms.
Can also be caused by underclock, overclock, auto sync, scripts, gps, wifi always on etc

Why not buy this one? This is an official battery from Samsung with 1500mAh instead of 1350mAh.

Did you bother reading the review below? They're saying that the description is incorrect and the battery is too big for the Gio...

so does anyone here ever tried extended battery? i've been looking into any forums. but always find problem, which is bigger in size, or the voltage is not stabil.
and i doubt that if the extended battery for gio would be so cheap. any suggestion?

I look for good quality battery with>mAh than original gio battery

Not sure if you can find one. Anyway it is always better to use original hardware, just pay attention to your phone settings (wifi, widgets, live wallpapers) and disconnect everything that you don't need .

I'm going to buy some of the battery... it looks like really good for me...

I wonder if it's realy possible to have a significant higher capacity battery with the same size.
In my previous phone (Nokia N82) I replaced my original battery with some chinese one which looked exactly the same as my original but it was no match for the real one. It performed slightly better than my original Nokia battery of 2 years old .
With batteries I guess you get what you pay for.

I got a gold battery from ebay for pretty cheap (i think $20 with shipping). It seems to work better than the original. It is 1430mah iirc. I've run a few tests on both batteries and it does work better by about 20 percent. Perhaps he original battery was defective *shrug* I'm really not sure how they stuff more juice in the same amount of space. Using the new battery with wifi/3g on and trillian and gmail syncing in the background, the phone will last 15 hours with regular use. Never tested with wifi/3g off and a lower screen brightness, perhaps it would last much longer. Still I've got the original battery with me as a backup.
Edit: Running gold battery all the way to dying i'm reaching 33 hours at this point with some system tweaks. Lower brightness, just trillian running and gmail accounts syncing. Still curious how long it'd go with wifi and data turned off but I havent had a chance to test that. My older phone had an aftermarket battery that was three times the size of the original and special cover came with it. It made the device quite heavy but i didnt mind since i had about 4 times the power. I wish they had that for the gio.

1,5 days and it's off
I use Governor Smartassv2 and i cannot have more than 1,5 days with stock battery.

help
where can i get cheap batteries

you could get them from ebay/dealextreme/focalprice/...
And always invest some time to read what others have to say about an item before you buy it

is there a final report on the battery search?

Not really, i really wish charging cases would come out for more devices, instead of just the iphone though.

[Q] Battery model\extended life battery?

Is there such thing for this phone (extended life\bigger battery)? Also, what's the model number to our current battery?
Thought I'd bring a reserve battery with me if I go on a long trip or something so I'd like to know the model.
http://www.batteryupgrade.com/shopBrowser.php#/assortmentProductId/32033648/shopGroupId/45791098
I ordered from them battery for Samsung i900 and it was exactly same quality as original.
Excellent quality !
that's not an upgrade as standard i5801 is 1500.
Yeah, thanks. A replace battery is just what I need. And I suppose a thing like an extended battery doesn't exist for our phone.

Get an extra one..
I have 2 batteries and it lasts for a week with minimal usage
exist program BatteryCalibration...it would help to extend battery life
you can find it in KirillosĀ“ROM
I wasn't looking for no crappy program to give my battery few more hours, I was looking for an extended life battery which is bigger and holds more charge. To bad those things rarely exist for phones.
I know what you mean, even old phones like google G1 have 2700mah batteries, last for weeks! but not for galaxy3. maybe i can make an extended battery by combining two g3 batteries, i will try.
We have a good battery, 1500 with the screen resolution and processor we have is really good. You have bigger and faster phones that use more juice with similar/smaller battery capacity
Yup. I'm not saying this is a bad phone or has a bad battery (I actually get good battery life), but if there is a battery that holds more charge, I'd be happy to buy it
you could also look into stuff like this.
Well that's better (and cheaper) then a spare battery, thanks for finding that one.
EDIT:
This holds 4400Mah, is probably able to charge the phone 3 times

Yeah, thats even better, I suspected there are better options thats why I said something like that (since there is an ad on XDA for it so I didn't have to look )

Yup, you can't probably buy it from amazon, I was more just showing that this kind of product exists. You could google the full name of the item and see if any other place sells it
I hate the damn battery, it never last more than 17hours regardless of what kind of ROM and Base band i have flashed...Was it a fake one?
It depends a lot how you use your phone, but I myself have reached max of 100 hours with minimal-medium usage. Typical amount for me is 50-70 hours with medium usage, and max 30 hours with like, google finance updating stocks per 15 minutes and fancy widget pro using gps to show weather every 2 hours and stuff like that. Plus I use adwlauncher ex with 4d drawer and other battery-sucking stuff on. Oh and you should use setcpu profile 166\88 when the screen is off, saves a lot of battery that way
Use bat callibration fugomod be or other undervolt kernel set cpu prozessor speed to 3** mhz reduce brightness= 39h+ runtime with musik usage facebook app runing mail sync^^
sent from my galaxy3 whitestar cfw balance edition
I have to charge my battery everyday I use Kyrillos' rom v5.6, fugumod alpha 14 and it sucks, thinking about buying an ordinary new one....
Also, bat calibration doesnt make a difference...

[Q] Has anybody bought this battery?

I was reading and I found this website that has batteries for cheap. Here is the link, http://www.htcexpress.com/batteries...-battery-sprint-verizon-incredible-droid.html. I have the Seidio 1750mah right now but I have switched between the stock battery and there isn't much of a difference. Has anybody had experience with this 1800mah battery? If so how does it compare to stock?
Looks like a no-name brand, I wouldn't buy it. It is probably worse than the stock battery. Just my $.02

That's what I was thinking. Just looking for something else because this Seidio battery is garbage.
I think the 1800 looks pretty dodgy as well. Also, just going by nothing but the numbers, 1750mA is only another 30% or so. At best, you're just going to see a small increase under heavy usage (if 3 hours on stock, 4 on 1750 Seidio).
I have had two of those 1750's and I had to have one replaced because it was not quite as good as the stock battery, but the other is a good improvement.
I just find that the crazy battery charging paradigm of the Dinc doesn't do justice to any battery. (unless you turn your phone off when you charge or alternate batteries from a real charger) I'm running a modified kernel which is undervolted, has all the modules I need, and I "de-sensed" and "de-HTC'd" every service and apk that I had no use for. I'm not a social networking guy (well, aside from this forum), and if I really wanted to do any of that I surely don't need HTC's crazy sense interface.
Doing that increased my battery life to 2 days of "normal usage for me". I'm not setting on the phone typing all the time or browsing, but as delivered before I modded it all, I think it was just about the most useless phone (in terms of battery life) I've encountered. Using their stock screen with ~craploads of widgets is battery suicide as well.
-- Anyway, I hope you solve the problem - Hashi
I don't really know how much these batteries are supposed to cost, I bought a couple 1500 on ebay and haven't had any problems with them. But here they have the stock battery for $23. Might be worth checking out if you're looking for just a backup to keep in your pocket or something (which is what I do).

I bought 1800 battery's on eBay and its great for me. Its $20 I say try it... If its ****ty oh well you have another stockish battery.

Extended battery issues

I purchased a really cheap extended battery about a month and a half ago on amazon and it practically doubled my battery life for a while. Now for some reason its no where near that performance and will only last me a day or so. I already wiped my battery stats, but no luck. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
OMG ONLY A DAY?! YOU POOR THING!
No really though. Maybe it's an app you've downloaded recently. Do a full wipe If a full day of battery life just isn't good enough for you.

Any of the ext batteries good??
May I ask what the battery was? I got a really cheap one off amazon that is supposedly 3500mAh, but it only has a slight difference in charge time =/
Hey,
I got the same extended battery off amazon, it works amazing, anyways there are several things that could be causing this issue:
1. Like someone posted before me check your apps, see whats running. Make sure to look out for the new ones because it might be running in the backround where even the task killer cant reach and killing your batter D:
2. Are you using gps 4g or any other features like that?
3. If you are rooted did you just flash a new rom? because with different roms you will get many different factors that effect your batt, with MIUI I would get over a day on the standard battery, and on sense roms il get maybe only half a day.
4. Those cheap batts are made for little and sold at little from China, so the quality isnt always the best, and it might be time to get a new one!
Hope I helped! and I hope you find a solution! good luck!

Since this a very old post, I'm sure that you've already resolved the issue. It has been my experience that while L-ion batts don't have a memory, their ability to take a charge can be affected by inadequate initial charges and NOT running them totally dead, at least once in a while. Whereas wiping battery stats will help the phone's OS to ensure maximum charge and usage, the battery still needs to go through a full cycle.
I hope that I'm not wearing you out with crap you already know. (Let's just assume that someone else needs this information, too).
Now to get REALLY nerdy:
http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/charging_lithium_ion_batteries
Read that if you really want to understand L-Ion batteries.
Then, you could just have a really cheap or bad battery pack. BTW, what's that brand again? I'm about to buy one myself...LOL.

Best battery upgrade

Hi,
I would like to know what is the best battery upgrade. Sometimes i need to use my phone for geocashing for more than two days and it is very boring trying to find time for waiting for charging. So I'm looking for best solution like extended battery or something like that. Size is not important for me, but i want something quality. Can you help me please ?
Thanks
Since size isnt a problem, id say.. get the Mugen 3200mah battery.
The quality is good and it has almost twice the capacity of the original.
Official samsung 2000 mah is pretty good. I get about 30% more usage on a full charge.

I bought a 9.99 3000mah battery from Ebay. Cut a hole in the back of my cover so it would fit. Anyway I'm getting over 36 hours between charge with moderate use. Atm I'm on 55% battery and I'm on 18 hours 16min. Data on. Sync on. half brightness

I run ICS with the samsung 2000Amh battery .. I get up to almost 3 days with 1 single charge and about 30% usage (calls and msg and whatsapp)
ICS alone is worth alot in getting the battery juice up..
I have just bought this 2600 mAh battery, has anyone had this, or one similar? any good or bad comment on it?

but what is true and so far my experience is that cheap batteries never performed the advertised capacity, i am talking about few dozens i have purchased...
i have only a suggestion: don't use batteries that gives you with the dock of sgs2

I'm using Dragon ICS with Siyah kernel and I'm now on 32% with 28 hours normal use.
What seemed to help is enable and disable airplane mode 3 times in a row. Read that somewhere on XDA and I dont know why but I'm having a better batterylife since
asysa commanded
Custom Rom and kernel and your battery will last you the whole day, and use sreen brightness at 30%

getting new battery

Hey guys im getting a new battery and i need u guys to help me and tell me if its good and worth it.

Batteries
I recommend this one CS-ER800BL just type that into google i can't remember where i got mine but it won't be too hard to find. It's a good battery and lasts a very long time providing you don't have a thousand apps running in the background like i have. Saying that, my battery lasts all day having played a few games, making calls and other usages too (internet games require more battery for signal e.g i play Restaurant Story sometimes) and i have 50 applications running in the background all day long using up almost 300mb of memory which is really stupid. So if a battery can handle that my god it must be something. Anyway good luck there, Tom

thanx but i need one that does not have an extended back cover.Or then i wiouldve just gotten a mugen power 3600 mah battery

I personally wouldn't stick something with Japanese/Chinese writing on, without necessary certifications, in my device. But that's just me.
Mugen Power is a more reputable brand and has the important certifications.
If you don't want the extended battery pack, and I dont blame you, the 1800mAh battery is standard size. You can find it here:

It may not in the short-term, but I expect it would perform better than the cheaper alternative in the long term.
It also wouldn't be the first time where a chinese manufacturer overstates the capacity/performance of something.
Yeah i think it should.
