[Q] Music skips?

I looked just about everywhere, but couldn't find anything.
While listening to music on my phone (flac and mp3, on phone not the cloud) I get skips and pops when I multitasking. Does anyone else have this problem? This doesn't happen all the time, but enough for me to put the question on here.
Nonrooted locked and stock (yes yes I will do it this next week.)

Phone speaker, wired, or Bluetooth?
I'm asking because I've seen an issue with music skipping over Bluetooth while the wifi was scanning.
I haven't noticed skips wired or through the speaker, however.

While using Google Music, streaming, I get skips and pops on longer songs (Hour long mixes).
This is on cell data w/ headphone jack.
Issue goes away for a few seconds when you pause the track and press play again, only to return.
Wired.. Always resolves itself, but annoying.

Okay.. I replicated it if someone can check...
Open music and play. Then go into the browser, and select a bookmark. Does it nearly every time.

Start playing a song and hit the three dot settings tab in the upper left select sound effects and turn on the EQ. You can change the EQ to to the flat setting if you want the music to sound as it did before. This fixes a lot of the music player sound issues.

Actually it does. People have reported before that turning on the EQ stops the skipping/crashing problem.

If you have a clue than you would know that it does fixing skipping issues so keep your "not trying to be rude" comments to your self if you are unaware of a fix.

Sprint s3 won't resume audio after call

Hi. I was wondering if anyone else could reproduce an issue I was having with my phone. While listening to music thru headphones if I make or receive a call after hanging up audio doesn't return right away. It takes a lil while and it then comes back. I can reproduce this over and over again. Was wondering if it was just my phone.

Anyone willing to test. Any carrier.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Mine works... But maybe you can define "a while"
I know what he means it will not playing again until a minute or so
Which app are you using to play the music. And or is there any other music player app also alive in memory,

Thanks guys for the assistance. I use poweramp. But I can reproduce it with the stock music player also. Music playing > make or receive call and music pauses like it should> I hang up> music does not resume and I can't hear any sounds from the phone at all for at least 15secs. I only use one music player at a time so only one should be in memory.

Anyone else this morning. Any help is appreciated and thanked. Just making sure this behavior is common before I return the phone.

Wow. Thread moved without any warning. I couldn't even find it for a sec!?

This is what i do i talk through my car speakers and or headphones pending what im using i unhook right before i hang up let the audio play through the phone speaker then reconnect it again its annoying but it works
Also i use poweramp and it has this problem even though poweramp has a setting to resume call
Thanks man. I've been experiencing this issue since I bought the phone. And it doesnt matter the ROM rather its stock, blazer, or cm10. Its the same issue.

Hey master acehole. I think I found a lil fix. Thru power amp settings and headset settings I raised the headset handler priority. The sound loss stopped. Thanks for all of ur help bro.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Damn. The issue returned. I'm at a. Complete loss. Is anyone other than me and ace hole having this issue.

Having the same issue
I'm having the same issue on my S3 running poweramp, though I'm not on Sprint (got it unlocked, international).
The only differences:
- I'm using a bluetooth headset
- The song resume's but there's no audio from the headset at all (not even after 5, 10 minutes - however long)
- I have to turn bluetooth off/on to get the audio back
I also tried using the stock player with the same results!
Would love to know if it's a problem with the phone, app or headset.
Thanks
Exact same issue here. Must be a samsung thing because many people are having it across ROMs and music players, so annoying! Anyone find a fix yet?
I can verify this as well.
Happens with Amazon MP3, Stitcher Radio and Audible for me.
The delay for me is at least 1 minute, but if you close the audio app and reopen it, then everything is fine (so it can work before the 1 minute).
Try Monkey Media player
Try monkey media player, I had the same issue with my S3, but with Monkey media it got resolved. just an FYI you had to play with settings

(Q)- Receiving a call whilst listening to Music

Sometimes when I'm listening to music, as everyone probably does I receive a call. I can't tell when I get the call except if I feel the vibration. And this is the case for all ICS roms! Is there anyway I can change that?
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
This could be from the music app you are using or just check you notification settings and take out any vibrations
!hit thanks!
This doesn't work. How do I get the music to stop or someway to know I'm getting a call

Some music applications such as Poweramp allow you have the music pause when someone's calling you, triggering the ringtone and vibration, then when you hang up it'll resume your music without you having to do a thing. I really don't know what other apps do this, nor am I trying to advertise it, however this app is one of the smoothest ones I've worked with in terms of being flexible with a lot of things.
Since version 1.3.2 this has been fixed with Mimicry (using the included and excellent Google Play Music). It will pause the music until the call is done and then resume playing after.
It doesn't blast the ringtone out of your headphones, it uses your phone's speaker. I personally prefer that, had a super loud ringtone screw me too many times when I've had audio piped into a car.

Audio out.. Wtf?!

I've done everything possible to stop these wake locks. AudioOut_2 is worse than 3,but both r still annoying. Phones been on this battery for less than 2hrs and that wake lock is over 10min and 6%. The Damn thing shows up even when I put my phone on vibrate. It makes no sense.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
You said "Everything possible". Enumerate.
Sent from my i9250
Turn all sounds off; touch sounds, media sounds, ring tones, etc. Basically my is in silent mode (which sucks). Doing this lessens the amount of wake locks, but they r still there, it makes no sense. Plus I'd rather have sounds on, but it seems to just destroy my battery life.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
What kernel/kernel version are you on?
Sent from my i9250
I have the same wakelocks, they take over the partial wakelocks on my phone. I almost always keep my phone on vibrate but I do listen to a lot of tunes whether it by via Spotify or Google Music.
Haha!! Sounds dumb. Your not aloud to let your phone ring because it will have a wake lock Lmao! Sorry but on topic I don't bother about it. Don't forget some wake locks are normal
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I know people that ended up in a clinic because of the constant wakelock hunt..
Rite now I'm on eclipse with whatever kernel comes with it. I'm probably gna try James Bond or air kernel and see if they help.

[Solved] one button to make phone silent?

So is there any way to press one button to make the phone completely silent? I was in class today and I used to notification menu to go in what I thought was silent mode. A few minutes later I accidently went into the galaxy s voice thing and that robotic ***** started shouting during a quiet class.... I tried using the volume rocker and no dice as well.
Edit:solved with simple sound widget. Thanks for the help.

***Your post made me laugh***
You could try that motion thing where the phone mutes when turned face-down. It's under Settings>Motion>9th option down
Not sure if it will work in every situation, particularly your robotic *****, but you can try....
I downloaded Simple Sound Profile Widget. Seems to work pretty well.
Sadly when this happened my phone was faced up so the motion thong won't work. I'll try the wigit though and see how that works out
