General questions:
Unlockable Bootloader?
Apparently yes!
Is the clear band at the bottom going to be used for notifications?
Apparently it is, but it's unable to do colour at present (although we've seen blue and white in the videos). We don't know if this is a hardware limitation, or a software limitation. If it's a software limitation then it will likely be modded at some point!
What's this about the battery?
Well for one it is indeed not removable
Removing the battery is pretty trivial as demonstrated in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lHsfARv_0Y&feature=player_embedded
On the good side though it is supposed to have a new 'fast charge' technology that charges the phone rapidly to 80% and then basically tricle charges it from that point, so if you need a quick boost you're in luck
Micro SIM?
I'm afraid so
Here's how to cut down a standard size sim to a micro sim though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lb1WvUoEbzI&feature=related
You can also pick up some pretty cheap devices (which look a bit like a hole-punch / stapler) from ebay that will cut it for you, if scissors scare you for some reason.
Micro SD card?
Nope
Release date?
March 5th is most likely
What's so awesome about it?
Looks great, and different from the other phones out there
Has an amazing screen (highest pixel density out there at the moment?)
Is a good size for one-handed operation without becoming tablet-sized
Awesome camera, with its own dedicated button, and can go from in your pocket to taking a snap in around 1.5s (I believe this is the fastest out there?)http://community.phones4u.co.uk/p4u-smartphone-shootout-mobile-cameras-go-head-to-head/
NFC?
Yes - and uses smart-tags so you can automatically setup a profile for home, work etc just by tapping your phone against a tag.
Does it have FM radio?
Yes! It has FM radio with RDS
What about this anti-stain shell I have head about?
Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDrJplSYIw8&feature=player_embedded

It's not unlocked by default, it is unlockable by default. Someone owning an Xperia S did the test to see if it was unlockable - which is this: *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
You can see more here: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/

Yea, hopefully it helps get some devs on board. Sony really seem to be doing all they can for the dev community at the moment.

I think Sony has learnt from the X10 and have started to be a bit more open towards the developer community; they tried to keep the X10 locked out and in the end watched the guys on here push that phone quicker and further than they could themselves (even without the bootloader unlocked)! If it was still Sony Ericsson I probably wouldnt get the Xperia S... but it isn't; so I am!

Would really like to see that, the only thing I'm worried about coming off a Desire, and swapping a Galaxy Nexus for this phone - They both had/have unreal dev support.

If Sony continues like they've pledged with their entire Xperia line, then it's likely we'll not only see Gingerbread, ICS, but also Jelly Bean by the end of the year.

How readable does anyone think Kindle will be on this phone? I have a Kindle myself, but the phone is ever so more portable in some situations.

why is micro sim a problem? its the new standard.. why have extra space for plastic. The non removable battery would be a moot point if they made docks for the phone.. but I assume its impossible to make nice ones with hdmi and usb on opposite side of the phone and covered by those plastic flaps.

It's not much of a problem, it just means two cuts to a standard sim. A minor inconvenience at most.
With regards to kindle on the phone, I'm sure you'll be fine. I use Aldiko to read all my books on the Arc S at the moment with no problems at all.
I'm excited that Sony are releasing the alpha and beta versions of their releases too. Another good sign for the devs!

Just wondering is there anything in that bit under the transparent light strip?
Or is it just some extra bit of plastic there to waste space?

I believe that's where the antenna is (from the translucent strip down)

I believe that the microphone is also located in the lower piece.
This means Sony would have had to find a way to run very thin/fine wires through the translucent bar. If thats the case pretty cool.
If your suggestion is correct that its purely decorative it would be a design feature with no function which indeed would be lame.

This a screenshot from Xperia U promo, where you can see lower bit removed. I know, it is U, but possibly same thing is on S as well. But I think you can see that definitely there is something there. I also hope, putting antenna there will increase signal reception.

The antenna is for sure in the lower part. You can see it on some close up pictures as thin wires within the clear strip...

For anyone who has a hard time remembering, *#*#7378423#*#* spells out *#*#SERVICE#*#*. Much easier, no?
Sony has pledged to provide major Android version updates for at least 1.5y after release, so we will definitely be seeing whatever comes after ICS.

Xperia Play 2???

Treat this firmly with a pinch of salt, but Concept-Phones have a render of the Xperia PLAY 2 that they have been told is indeed real. It was sent over by Jsus, who has created a number of different Xperia concept renders in the past. Our sources have not mentioned anything about a new iteration of the Xperia PLAY, but that’s not to say it’s not in development. Concept-Phones says the handset will come with a 4.3-inch (720 x 1280) display , 1.5GHz dual-core S4 Snapdragon processor and 8.1MP camera with LED flash.
There are a few things about the phone that do not look right to us (if indeed it is real). For example, the transparent strip, seen as part of the Iconic Identity of the new Xperia handsets, would probably be covered by the joypad when closed. Therefore it would serve no purpose in terms of notifications. Also there are four capacitive buttons at the bottom of the handset that would probably not be needed under Android 4.0 ICS. Anyway, have a look at the larger image below and tell us what you think. We say it’s strictly a concept, but you can never say never.

thats what xperia play 1 should have been lol any ideas if the new one will have the things the old play neglected like video out bravia etc only problem is the touchpads id say if they were made like that theyed be even harder to play with Vita nubs would be the SH**
I hope this doesn't come out...Beyond the camera and the processor, there is nothing new to the phone. They need to add physical joysticks to the device, whether it be Vita-esque nubs, or slide around pads like the 3DS and PSP. I HATE using the touch pads, and I think a lot of people would agree with that. And I know tons of folks want those L2 and R2 buttons. I would hardly see a point to this phone without those upgrades. Sure the processor would be a nice upgrade, but I could certainly care less about the camera. This is just my personal opinion, but I definitely wouldn't buy this as it's hardly a big advancement from the original.
I truly do hope they aren't stupid enough to change the resolution and screw up it's hundreds of working games.
What they need to do for Xperia PLAY 2 is keep as much of the original intact as they possibly can, while making enough changes to the core technology so that it's future proofed. That way they wouldn't have undone all the current accomplishments. Honestly the only things *wrong* with the Xperia PLAY are that it has only 400MB of memory, a processor+gpu that are clocked below current standards, and that we could sacrifice a thinner profile for physical analogs..

Whether its fake or not I think its looks sweet. I would love to have a higher resoltuion but I agree with TLtheory that for compatibility of older Xplay games it would be best focus in core upgrades.
Maybe they can creat a patch file for select games to upscale to fit the 720 screen or maybe just create a way for the device to just auto upscale, granted it would take a hit on the processor..... just some ideas for the grain of salt
Hope this is fake... Just bought my xperia play a week ago.
Too much focus on Android in the info and not enough Playstation. Does it have L2 and R2 buttons? A better D-pad? Better Touchpads?
Fugly doesn't start to describe it, it has nothing of the Human Curvature design which is really cool and it has much of I-wanna-be-an-SGS2... I welcome the specs bumps however, though they won't bring a spanking super high end smartphone it will certainly be a bit more current than the Play's when it came out. I'd like a higher dpi which can match the Neo's. Games are supposed to look crisp.

This design looks bland in comparison with masterpieces like the Arc or the Nokia Communicator (another cool rectangular slider, btw). I mention the SGS2 because the screen size is the same. I could say an HTC phone like the other fellow said. They look all the same, these days. As long as people keep obsessed with phones as thick as a coin we will keep seeing slab after slab. I hope someone in the Android realm will break away from that craze and bring us something with a nice design irrespective of whether you can tell it apart from a piece of paper while looking sideways.

Same here. It looks exactly like a HTC product cause of the squarish design.
Sony would never come up with that.

I read a recent article that DID say HTC would be the first 3rd party to get the Playstation certification on some of their phones.
Yet another thing that was promised last year but never happened.
It looks so horrible i'm not quite sure how to convey it in words. I REALLY hope its fake...
Seriously though, the important part is the analog sticks, we need analog sticks, a volume rocker better designed to do double duty as R2/L2, and an up to date high powered soc/ram etc, that's all I could really ask for.
If my phone has to be 1.6mm thicker to accommodate real analog sticks, I DON'T CARE TAKE MY MONEY.

We definitely do NOT need that, being able to turn the volume up and down during a game is a wee bit more important.

I like the phone's characteristics but I'm concerned about the battery life. Only 2250mAh for eight cores is a bit weak. What do you think?
Do you expect the phone to have any support for the upgrade to Android L or to any other alternative upgrade?
I just purchased this phone.
I think for 102Eur is a great phone. If it have some problems, it isn't the only one. All chinneses phones have problems everywhere. The thing is if it compensates what you paid for it.
I also ordered it. I'm still waiting for it but I hope I won't be dissapointed. I hope that it will have some support (new ROMs, firmware updates etc.), since there has been a lot of interest in preorder period.

I think the official launch is on 9th Oct. We will wait at least two weeks more to put our hands in it.
Elephone p2000 at least seems that has good support and Elephone releases new roms when is needed. Also, every Elephone has been rooted easily, so that's good. Take also into consideration that we're with Android 4.4.2 .. other phones are still with 4.2 or 4.0, so we're updated for a few years with this version.
I think we take a good decision, and believe me, I search the whole internet and this is the best phone I found for this price. :good:
We just have to keep this topic alive, so that we can discuss about the phone once we get it. I already own a chinese phone with MTK6577 and 512MB RAM, Android 4.0 and I've been very satisfied with it. So obviously Elephone g6 should be a big improvement for me. I also like to do some improvements to the phone when possible, that's why I'm hoping for good support.
As far as the price-quality is concerned, I'm sure there is no better phone on the market at the moment. Only the battery still worries me...
Hopefully we'll get it ASAP.

I own a Sony Xperia Neo (1Ghz, 512mb ram, 384mb of memory to apps, 3.7'' and Android 4.0 ... slow as hell!) so this G6 should be a big improvement to me too! the only thing that my Xperia will be better is the camera and flash, so, we will see
The phone should be shipped in 9th, so -2 days!

I would just wait, all the new Chinese models will be a little delayed because of the Chinese national holidays. Not only from Elephone but also from all the other Chinese brands. And I think it is good that they tell the truth, and actually do the tests properly before they ship the phones out to all the end customers. So we don't will be having problems in the end.
I agree, just wait for one more week. If you waited that long, one week isn't that much
I look forward to getting a good product, hopefully well tested and with some suport and updates available in the future.

We hope that the product is at least good, with good support and few updates.
Still no one received the phone?
Myefox delayed shipments without explain nothing... Look for some hands on until place my order!!
Wonder if anyone has received this phone yet I am looking for a budget smartphone to replace my nightmare Samsung Galaxy ace which is getting near the end of its contract.
My situation is I done a google search for a Blackview Crown review- 5inch Octa core Android 4.4 Smartphone 2GB Ram 16GB Rom and found the following thread on this site -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/blackview-crown-review-5inch-octa-core-t2844265
Someone on there said he thought this phone would be better and a few other agreed, however I cant really find much first hand feedback on this phone.
I know nothing about rooting phones I am a basic user who just wants a reasonable smart phone but my existing phone does have a huge amount of bloatware that i dont use so would not like that on a new phone.
Just wanted to keep this thread alive as this phones looks perfect I am in the UK where the cost of this is just over £92 or $150 and using the Three network on the 800MHZ band so was hoping people could give it the thumbs up.
Thanks
Ian

I received the phone. So far it looks good. Touchscreen is very responsive, no other preinstalled apps. OS really is Android 4.4.2 KitKat as stated. It has also already come rooted as SuperSU. Antutu Benchmark score is 29004.

Hi. Can you add some more photos? I'm quite interested in buying this phone to my wife, but I'm afraid about camera quality, and battery life. So can you say something about it? And generally your opinion about whole phone.
Thank you in advance.

I received the phone. So far it looks good. Touchscreen is very responsive, no other preinstalled apps. OS really is Android 4.4.2 KitKat as stated. It has also already come rooted as SuperSU. Antutu Benchmark score is 29004.

Im about to order a one too. camera certainly looks pretty good. and your input is highly appreciated and valuble. thank you for that first. and also do all of us some more favor, please include your comment on following points,
1. some more camera pics in low light and normal indoor conditions.
2. mobile signal strength, wifi strength compared to your other mobile.
3. and another most importantly, music quality through a good headset and normal speaker strength for ringing.
4. I found some chinese devices have very low earpiece volume. how's it on the g6?
5. And of course how about the battery time.
thank you again and we all are very grateful for your info I think.

Who's getting one?

Hey all
HTC has bucked the trend here, as before the "Desire" range has been considered a mid-range series, not so with the HTC Desire Eye, here we have a fully featured high-end device. With a powerful quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor running at 2.3 GHz backed up with 2GB of RAM and the usual HTC check boxes such as Boom sound, the Desire eye certainly looks like an interesting device. The one stand out feature is a exceptionally large pixel front camera, at 13MP (same as the rear camera) high resolution selfies are certainly on the cards.
So who will take the plastic over the metal of the M8, and why would members choose this device?

I'm planning on finally replacing my 4 year old iPhone 4 and getting a new phone next month, and depending on the price of this thing I might get this one
.
IMHO it looks like a better phone than the M8. I for actually like the design a lot more than the M8's (which I actually didn't really like the design of all that much), and this blue one you have pictured here looks especially nice. And I don't really care about metal vs plastic, I'm not actually sure what the big deal is, but that's just my opinion. And in addition the flap-less high water-resistance is really awesome indeed. The camera is also apparently better, though I think the 13MP "selfie" cam is overkill.
The thing I really don't like about this phone however about this phone is it's physical size. It is way bigger than a 5-inch phone has any right to be. In fact, it is almost as big as the Galaxy Note 3/4 as shown in this comparison here. That was one of my main gripes with the M8 as well - the reason for that size is the excellent BoomSound speakers, but IMHO no speaker-quality is worth that much increase in bezels and size (especially since I really don't care all that much about speakers since I usually just rather use headphones). The Desire Eye is even bigger than the M8 (though both are 5' displays) because of that ludicrous 13MP "selfie" camera which is just piontless.
So will I get it? Well that really depends on the price. Currently I am planning on getting the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact for $520 next month. I'd really rather not get a 5-inch device that's the size of a Galaxy Note, but if the price is really attractive (this supposedly being a "budget" series phone) than I might still get it.

In The Netherlands retailers priced it at 499 EUR
And, I'm getting this device no matter what, I've already pre-ordered it on a 2-year contract.
Will wait to see how the camera performs. If it's great, I might get it. If it's mediocre, I'll just wait for the M9.
Im thinking about it, but i still want to see some reviews and reviews about the camera. I also need to see what the price is going to be in my carrier and what price i can get it.
By the way, does anyone know a especial reason why it doesnt have 4k video? It's not very important, but htc could have used the hardware to introduce the 4k which is something a lot of the other flagships have and the hardware seems capable of it

Don't worry, someone will probably port 4k video to this phone, as it should be capable of doing so.
little update on release date: My carrier (dutch) expects the phone to be available within 2 weeks.
I thought that also. Hopefully some devolopers will get this phone and work on it, it seems to be a good phone. However, since there isn't any htc phone with 4k in the market (that i know of), won't that make it more difficult? I don't know much about software but i always thought some of those added feature were ported from software. Or maybe its just "unlock"/add a new resolution to the video software.

From what I've heard, it's depending on the CPU and it's capabilities. The reason for the HTC One m7 and m8 not getting 4k was that, if you want to shoot in 4k resolution, you need a camera with over 8mp.
Luckily, our HTC Desire Eye gets a 13 MP camera and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 which, according to their spec list, supports 4k playback and recording, the thing that needs to be done is modify the camera apk and add the missing libraries.
The same was done on the Xperia Z1, here is the discussion with some usefull things;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2768422
And the actual dev thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53165575
Thank you for the links! I remember reading about that and i was hopeful that someone would do the same for this phone. However, i think its a port from the z2 software because the z2 does 4k from stock (although i think they all do know from stock via update, not sure) and htc never had 4k in any of their phones.
But when the phone is released we will probably know more about this.

Look, their old devices never had the capability of supporting it, because either their camera's were lacking 8mp or their processors couldn't handle it.
Example;
HTC Desire 816 13MP camera, https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/400
HTC Desire 616 8MP camera, some cheapass octa-core by Mediatek.

Actually the Desire Eye has a 5.2" screen which explains the larger exterior dimensions.
Good to know! Thanks!
I just noticed on gsmarena and with a google search that there is no mention of 120fps slow motion recording. I assumes it did slow motion from stock but it only mentions 30fps full HD. One thing i liked on the m8 camera was that slow motion could be edited to pick what parts to slow down and it seems to be missing on this phone.
Anyone knows or read anything about slow motion recording? Again, it has the hardware for it but htc seems to be cutting down the software :/

Since the "Eye Experience" is also present on the One M8 and M7 now, it will probably be the same for our phone, anyways if not present, we can probably port it easily.
Looks like a mighty interesting phone. I always though the desire series was the more attractive side of HTC. I might have to ditch my iPhone 6 for this. Pangu is a joke!
I've been eyeing (ha!) this and the Note 4, the deciding factor will be if the Desire is easily rootable. The Note is not. What are your thoughts on rooting the Desire?
I have a Desire Eye from HTC, I can say the front camera is very nice and the brand new Eye Experience functions looks cool too.

How's the sound quality? And battery life?
I'm probably going to pick one up tomorrow...Almost grabbed a HTC One M8 Google Play Edition today, but decided to hold off and try one of these out, I know AT&T is going to brand the crap out of the phone, that is the only bad thing...I'm a big HTC fan boy, but the camera on the One M8 caused me to drift to try other devices over the last few months...I talked about 8 of my friends into buying the phone and they all love it...

The first impact was not bad. Probably the performance are not the top with kitkat 4.4.4, battery seems ti be poor in terms of screen on time and capacity. Good news is that on the elephone forum is available original firmware, new custom rom flyme 4.2 and philz touch recovery.
Here's the link of philz Touch recovery

Thanks for the reviews. I have seen on the Elephone P3000s 3GB page (http://www.elephone.hk/P3000S-6752.html) that there is no NFC included in first batch ( NFC: Support (The second batch os P3000s will pack NFC) / NFC:support(100,000 pieces of P3000s were sent out in April don't support NFC.)) . How the NFC supporting devices can be identified? Is it only a SW/driver issue or hardware topic? Thx and br
Nfc is an hardware topic, near micro sd slot on the rear, you must have two pins that connects to the rear cover with nfc antenna on it.
I have one of those non-NFC phones (don't care too much about NFC, and asked elephone.cc to send me one from the first batch to get it quicker).
My impressions after using it for almost two weeks:
Speed, smoothness is good, probably thanks to the CPU, GPU and 3GB Ram.
The main SIM card slot was too tight from the factory to insert a full size SIM card with perforated edges (so that I can pop out a micro sim size SIM) so the SIM card broke when I tried to force it into the slot.
I then got a new SIM card (thankfully I share offices with my mobile network provider...) and I first used a small tweezer to bend open the SIM card slot a bit while gently pushing in the SIM card.
That worked.
I'm not very impressed with the battery life, but maybe I'm asking for too much?
Today it's been running 10,5 hours on battery with normal use, it's now down to 6% battery level.
Maybe that's ok, I don't know.
The biggest problem is that I feel the wifi/bluetooth radio is unstable.
I got myself the new, very nice LG Urbane smartwatch 5 days ago, but it looses contact with the phone all the time so I don't get any notifications from the phone, and can't interact like placing calls etc.
I often also notice that even though the wifi icon in the top bar implies that it has almost a full wifi signal, the wifi connection is actually lost, and I have experienced several times that I'm not able to disconnect/reconnect but have to reboot the phone in order to get everything working again.
It would be good to hear from other owners, if they experience any of this or if I should first try a factory reset (I did that as soon as I received it though, as I always do when I buy a new phone/tablet), or an alternative ROM, before I start the possibly dreaded process of trying to get elephone.cc to send me a replacement.

I agree with your post grenness
I've had mine since it came out and purchased it from Gearbest, to replace my HTC One M7 that I couldn't relash properly.
I've only been usiing mine on Wifi with WhatsApp and gaming for the first few few weeks to get used to it.
The Wifi is weak, It cuts out quite a bit... which is real annoying when I use phone with Wifi at home.
I couldn't ge the SIM 1 Card to fit either so I just put it in the MicroSIM slot.
As for the battery I probably have too many Apps that use a lot of processing power, But I need to run it completely flat to see how long it will last.
Another thing I found is that if you do want NFC there is backcover available on Aliexpress(probably wrong spelling) that allows you to enable it. which I might get when I purchase a Glass Screen protector and Case.
Thought Id share my impressions on this phone.
First of all, I know Elephone.cc is not Elephone's oficial store as they pretend but do not order from them, seriously dont. They dont respond to support emails, Took them a week to send the phone and they sent just the phone, without the extra batery, glass screen protector and leather case, so thats $30 thrown away because they are reluctant to offer the refund for the parts they didnt send.
About the phone:
Smooth indeed, it moves nice, very nice, is fast but that is a given with the specs.
GSM reception is the worst, very very very bad, I get no signal at all in places I used to get full signal with my previous phone (a Lenovo S939)
The battery - Oh the battery, omg, I think that if I could put 2 2A batteries in it would last longer, very bad battery life, doesnt last 12 hours with mobile data one and very little use, If I use it like I used my previous phone (extremly moderate) I need to charge it every 5-6h, which is very inconvenient because Im not allways near a power source.
The fingerprint thingy, while it does work in just the right angle is useless, you have to slide my finger 10 times to scan once, I didnt even manage to set a fingerprint because it must scan it like 7 times.
The autorotate is crazy, allways goes to landscape even if you just tilt the phone a bit, and then you must turn it 4-5 times to go back to portrait, so you have to disable it otherwise you cant use the phone.
The phone is not usable while charging because the touchscreen goes nuts.
The camera ) .My very old Nokia n73 takes way better pictures that this, even my previous phone which has a lower res camera is waay better than this one (also Congrats on the false advertising for the camera - not sony and not 13mpx).
I dont think I just got a bad phone from factory, because I saw more people having issues like mine. And this is their top model at this moment with the p7000 not relesead yet.
I very much regret for purhasing this gadget (not phone cause it cant be used as one) so do yourself a favor and dont purchase any Elephone, I doubt they have any good models.
Don't agree, my sample had not the issues you wrote. Only battery is poor, but in this case i think that software support is not good, so it needs updates..
I thought Elephone would have had Lollipop available by now.
Is there anyway to boost the Wifi on the phone?
good morning, there are some news on a custom rom with lollipop?

You can try Root Genius or King Root. Greetings
---------- Post added at 05:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:54 PM ----------
Kingroot works. I've just try it.
hi. tnx for the reply and info.
glad you got Kingo to work. unfortunately, it wont for me. i had tried that along with iroot and root genius. i cant get anything to work. i only found out when quickboot failed and i then checked with root checker. i wonder why i cant get the phone to root again?
did you check with root checker to make sure, because kingoroot and iroot both told me i had root but root checker said i hadn't. assuming root checker is correct, i cant get root back and i cant use quickboot, which basically verifies no root achieved
Crap, I also had the OTA update earlier today and went ahead and installed it.
Bye, bye, root.
Oh well, anyone notice any improvements to the phone after the update?
On the crappy camera, take a look at this photo taken outside in partly overcast weather (which is supposed to be good for photographing), notice how the green colors are completely useless in the right part of the picture? And how unclear everything is?
I'm telling you, this camera sucks...
edit: sorry, image should now be visible
just had this mail from SuperElephone:
The new version of OTA has root function. That means if you update OTA, your phone will be rooted automatically.
unfortunately, that is not the case, as i found out and have mailed them back informing of the error. not sure what response, if any, i'll get from them now.
I read somewhere that you just have to install and update SuperSU after OTA and will be fine...I DO NOT KNOW THAT. I JUST READ ABOUT IT.
But..I would like to know about other issues on this phone...WiFi, data, battery etc.

I'm very interested to hear about the following things:
- Display quality, brightness, viewing angles in comparison to AMOLED.
- Battery life comparison. Especially with other sd855 phones like the OP7pro
- How bad is the low light performance of the camera? I'm very impressed with video performance and regular shots.
- ZenUI. Is it any faster? Any smoother? Or does it just look like stock Android and the similarities end there? How slow or laggy is it compared to the OP7pro?
Can u pls extract the stock apps of new zen ui 6.0 which can work without root
Ex: File Manager, Clock etc
Confirm the Zenfone 6 can accommodate two SIM cards and a Micro SD card.
Does zenfone 6 support dual GPS frequency like some xiaomi devices ?

You mentioned thanks to ASUS USA...? Did you order in USA? If so, which variant are you receiving? Where did you order and what carrier are you on? Details please.
Hi,
thank you for that, especially since there are a lot unknown details about that phone or OS.
I have a few questions:
1. Can you customize the Notification LED colors (for example white for emails, blue for fb, green for whatsapp)?
2. Is there any kind of private Gallery? I am not talking about hidden files accessible from the file maaager, but the gallery/messaging (I have found that screen on the internet). On MIUI you just swipe down screen with visible messages/photo albums, then it requests a passwords and displays the protected content along the others.

4. Have you noticed any not so obvious features of ZEN UI 6?
Best regards,
Dominik
May you confirm that is this device only support USB2.0? and also is it still support LDAC? Thanks!
Is Always On Display possible?
How is the headphone jack output for headphones and how do the dual stereo speakers sound?
I read that the camera module rattles when the phone vibration motor is activated? The same reviewer said that the phone module gets very hot when using it in a video chat session. Can you confirm or deny any of these things?
Can you confirm LTE bands? Android Police said it had a hard time connecting to AT&T's LTE.
Which carrier will you be using it with?
Already brought up but I'm curious how the display compares to other LCD displays. Reviews seem to have it pinned as worse than other highend LCD phones like the Mate 20, wondering if it's a considerable difference.
Also very interested in the 3.5mm quality, thanks.
Oh and how is the balance of the stereo speaker with the weaker top speaker? Are Left and Right balanced 50/50? Concerned left audio will be overpowered by the right for music/video where instruments/sounds are spilt.

I'm interested in this too. I'm not familiar with any of ASUS other phones - were they USA ATT compatible? If so, I'm sure this one would be the same.
What's the haptics like on it, are they pants or actually decent?
Please shows more software, I like this new ZenUI that looks clean as AOSP. Every review of this smartphone people only show the camera, it's so tiring...
Have only had it a few minutes after unboxing it. Will answer some of the easier stuff first.

1: No LED customization.
2: Nope. You can hide albums from view in the Gallery app, but that's just for organization. They're easily accessible and not password protected. The default messaging app is Google's Messages.
3: For the initial review, no. Perhaps after as a follow-up.
4: The screen recorder lets you record the internal system audio. Haven't seen that mentioned anywhere yet.

Haptics are...not that good. Definitely not the worst I've ever felt, but it's nowhere on the level of the OP7 Pro/Pixel 3 where you can *feel* the area behind where you're tapping vibrate, like when typing in Gboard. Haptic feedback when typing isn't that bad, but when the whole phone vibrates for a notification you can hear the motor and really feel the force of the shake. I made a simple Tasker action to vibrate the phone for 500ms and compared it between the ZF6 and OP7 Pro just to get a feel for it.

I read that the camera module rattles when the phone vibration motor is activated? The same reviewer said that the phone module gets very hot when using it in a video chat session. Can you confirm or deny any of these things?

Camera module rattling: Haven't noticed it. To test, I set Tasker to vibrate the phone for a good second after opening the front camera. Heat: need to test for more.

Doesn't look like it. Used GPS test app and only saw L1 and E1 connections. However, I'm still indoors and SIMless.

Confirmed. It took my T-Mobile + Google Fi SIM + 128GB microSD.
Can you compare the stereo speakers with other devices that have stereo speakers?

No, I got it from ASUS' US PR. This is the Midnight Black model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage..
I'll be using it on T-Mobile. Do the online spec lists from GSMArena not give you the information you need? What else can I check?

Asus US PR as in Puerto Rico? You're also mentioning you're going to use it on TMobile towers so I am wondering if it is possible for me to purchase it yet in the United States? Please provide a link if you can.
As for doing more for speccing out the device you can go to KiMovil.com and check there. I can see that it should work better on TMobile than AT&T.
One more thing, what was total cost with everything included?
