I have a samsung developer phone, but the installed build is 6419. I don't have direct access to the connect directory, so I was wondering if anyone has the latest installable build? Pst or post a reply if you got any info

How can I use that to flash the phone?
You probably need a driver + some weird booting key-press combination on the phone (it changes from phone to phone) before you can do it

I have a similar question. I am using a developer build htc spark with a 6527 build version.
Noticing lately many of the new apps not installing or working correctly. Im pretty sure its the old build version. Any help updating to the current prod version is appreciated.

Does anyone know of a way to access or download a XAP downloaded from the Marketplace on to a device.
I was unable to find any XAP files in the Zune backup directories. Has anyone had any luck with this?

If you put your phone in WiFi mode, you can use wireshark (possibly along with Cain and Abel) to sniff the connection when you are downloading it. That's what Hounsell did over in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=820455&page=3
That feature was removed a couple of days ago when a website was linking people directly to the files of the zune marketplace. This was actually a feature for developers to use so they could share the app with other testers, but since it was abused it was removed. Also downloading the xap files is only half the battle you need to have a developer unlocked phone inorder to load the app and run it on your phone.

When you install WP7 bits, you will have a start menu folder called "Windows Phone Developer Tools". There are 3 programs listed: "Application Deployment", "Windows Phone 7 Emulator" and "Windows Phone Developer Registration". After registering your phone you be able to upload XAP even on retail device. At least I've tested recently arrived AT&T's HTС Surround.

To register your phone, you'll need a WP Developer Account, so yes. You will need a developer-unlocked Phone
I think you're confused between a Developer Phone (ie, one that's pre-release for development purposes) and a Developer-unlocked Phone (one that's retail, but has been unlocked with a developer account so that it can run unsigned, non-marketplace code).
U mean the problem is in the $99 to become a developer? ;-) It's not a real problem, at least for that forum members, I think so...

I've seen some threads on other forums for "Jailbreak Nokia WP 7.5", but it doesn't work in my Lumia 710 because I cant install the XAP (Nokia_Interop_Unlock_by_Heathcliff74) for do the Jailbreak.
Any way to get my Lumia 710 Jailbraked?

Interop Unlock for Nokia Lumia (all models) cannot be achieved at the moment. The hack you refer to was a proof of concept which never worked.

Someone should make a chart like this ofr all WP devices. If you don't want to I will but I think it would be a good idea.

That should clear things up yes. Unfortunately i do not have the time available to compile such list. So be my guest to get started with it!
Please take in mind that there are lots of phones out there which can be interop unlocked but only by reverting back to ROMs before certain driver versions. Once such ROM is loaded, apply Interop Unlock, and let zune update to the latest version. This can be a time consuming operation. Also note that while upgradeing this interop unlocked roms will remain interop unlocked (no updates have been found which relock the phones as of yet) it might mean that certain tools (TouchExperience for example) stop working because they use exploits only available in certain drivers.
Full unlock is, as far as i know, is only possible by loading a customized ROM, which requires a unlocked bootloader.
Can be difficult to compile all this into a schema but i wish you the best of luck!

Thanks: Briefcase for original idea, all the great devs who work to find unlocks (Jaxbot, Heathcliff74, DFT Team, GoodDayToDie, and others)
Definitions of Unlocks:
FULL: Policy has been modified to allow for running of native executables. This lets you do things like running properly recompiled Windows Mobile code. This also allows for all the things root unlock offers.
ROOT: Policy is elevated on a per app basis via Root Tools (version 0.9) to allow Silverlight apps to run with root privilege. This lets you do things like install XAP's via IE.
INTEROP: Achieved by setting MaxUnsignedApps to 300 or greater. This allows an app to use the Interop Services capability, meaning it can use drivers on the phone. This allows for neat things like editing the registry or accesssing the file system. Just to be clear though just because your device is Interop Unlocked that does always mean that hacks that require Interop Unlock to deploy will work on your device since they may use exploites that don't exist on your device.
DEVELOPER: This allows a user to sideload apps.
Heathcliff74 does a great job of explaining this all in greater detail over HERE, or in his BLOG.

Because now, although better than having no list at all, it isn't complete.
Also methods for developer unlock are the same for any phone type so they could be taken apart. You migh also want to explain what the different type of unlocks are for to be very complete (link to approriate resources).

Yeah, I thought about where to post this for a bit, I figured it has more to do with dev & hacking but if a mod feels it should be in the Q&A or maybe even General by all means. I just figured it might cut down on the Q's asked here in Development if it stays here.

Redundant, Yes. But if I don't do it that way I can almost guarantee that someone will ask/say "So I can't developer unlock my phone? I know it says all phones can dev unlock via these means but does that include mine?"
These are the same people that ask Q's in the dev & hacking forum...

How does the new version of WP7 Root Tools fit into this?
It's going to allow you to give root access on an app-by-app basis... which gives the apps you select the same level of access as a full unlock, without being a full unlock.
we will cross that bridge when we get there.
A few clarifications:
HTC gen1.5 (the CDMA phones, Sptrint's Arrive and Verizon's Trophy) are special cases.
Arrive can't be interop-unlocked at all right now, short of a custom ROM. This is because it can't use Connection Setup.
VTrophy can be IUed, but requires special instructions beyond the normal steps for pure-GSM phones.
Last I checked, there aren't any *published* custom ROMs for the Verion Trophy (not sure about the Arrive) although I know some are in development.
HTC Custom ROMs:
Up-to-date GSM phones will need their bootloaders downgraded. For gen1 phones, there are some ways to do this. If you don't downgrade first (to bootloader/SPL 3.1 or below) and try to install a custom ROM, you'll break the bootloader somewht permanently (very hard to repair).

I made a note about the Arrive in the second post already, I'll add the Trophy to the note.
I'll will clarify the whole WindowBreak thing, I have it listed that higher level unlocks include the lower level abilities but I suppose it would be a good idea to mention that WindowBreak doesn't need dev unlock first.
I plan to note full privilege app escalation once that is available but I don't want to confuse people for now.
I'll have to give ya a thanks tomorrow, I seem to have maxed myself out today but thanks for all the good points.

This is not completely true. Arrives can only be IU with custom ROM. The Verizon Trophy with v1 drivers stock ROMs CAN be IU but you follow a slightly different procedure (Heathcliff has it in his first post here). I came up with this procedure and several (myself included) have used it.

While it gives root access to Silverlight apps, it won't be the same as full unlock. You will not be able to run native executables etc.

If it's not released then how will we know what can and can't be done on it yet? I think it's safe to just assume that if a phone isn't out yet and thus not in the hands of a dev the status of unlocks of any kind aside from official dev unlocks would be 'unknown'

Just a quick question, but I have a Samsung Omnia W and did a succesful Windowbreak on it so are you saying that it is now Interop as well as Developer unlocked ??
If that is so then I wonder why it is that the majority of 3rd party apps I have managed to succesfully put on my phone do not work.
Apps such as Metro Themes, Advanced Configuration Tool and WP7 Root Tools. I am basically looking to apply custom colours to my tiles and background and have not been able to do it at all.
I thought a Developer unlock would allow me to do all these things ?

Bootloader Unlocking guide for Realme GT Master edition (RMX3360) series.
Unlock at your own risk. The warranty will be void. You will also LOSE the all data on your phone.
( I will be not responsible for any damage to your device )Prerequisites:
First Back up all of your data and files present on the phone because the phone data will be erased completely during the Unlocking process.
Install Minimal ADB and Fastboot tool from here: LINK
Download DeepTesting app from here: LINK
Making phone Ready for deep testing:
Install the DeepTest.apk.
Open the app and click on Apply Now.
Click on the small tick box present on the left upper side and click on Submit Application.
Wait for the application to be approved.
Close the app and go to Settings. From their got to About phone > Version and tap multiple times on Build number to enable Developer setting.
After that go into the Additional Settings > Developer Settings. From their turn on OEM Unlock and USB Debugging.
Open Deep Testing app. After 'Application Approved' is mentioned on the screen, click on Start deep testing.
The phone will reboot to Bootloader Mode.
Unlocking Bootloader After Deep Test Approval:
Connect your phone to PC.
Open Minimal ADB and fastboot by clicking on the icon. It can be found on searching it in the Windows menu.
Type fastboot flashing unlock
Use the volume and power button to select 'Unlock the bootloader'.
The phone will wipe its data and reboot to the installed system.
CONGO !

Relocking Bootloader Guide:
Make sure that you are on the stock rom/firmware version provided by the realme for GT Master Edition. Else avoid relocking the bootloader process until you flash back stock ROM/firmware.
Steps for relocking (With STOCK ROM):
Connect your phone to PC.
Open Minimal ADB and fastboot .
Type fastboot flashing lock
Use the volume and power button to select 'Lock the bootloader'.
The phone will wipe its data and reboot itself.
Enjoy your phone with Locked Bootloader.

As a side remark: Even if you thread had been a development thread I'd removed the Telegram link because we expect support to questions or requests for help are provided on XDA and not in any kind of social media even if it might be called "extra support".

Also, when we relock, say for warranty related purpose, can Service Centre find that device was unlocked in past?

Worked fine for me. Don't know about re-locking.
can i relock the bootloader? It was in the LATAM region and now I moved it to the stock Euex region in its latest version without having made any other changes or modifications, will it be possible to brick it this way?
hi, does fingerpring sensor work after unlocking bootloader? i have seen few people here that say their fingerprint sensor doesnt work after unlocking/flashing new rom and they didnt found a fix for it and im scared to unlock it because sensor for me is pretty important
