[Q] xLoud on Verizon? Is it possible? - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dont burn me I know somewhere on this thread there was at one time a post if xLoud was possible on the r800x, however I could not find it after searching..... I belkieve if memory serves me right that it wasnt possible due to the 2.3.4 permissions it was for, but wondered if it was possible to modify it to work with our phones? Now granted with the new Beats Audio tweak xLoud might not be much anymore, I do have the Beats Audio and it is awesome..... loud and crisp and vibrant sounding..... anyway.... any ideas?

Well by using the UK rom, I'm able to get xLoud on my R800x. Though I don't think anyone's been able to fix calling issues on UK rom

[Q] HTC's Beats stutter resolution?

I would like to know if anyone has had time to find out what HTC's fix was for the beats stutter... and if it works for bluetooth headsets/car stereos?
I'm on a 3 branded one X and have unlocked and rooted the rom. I have tried putting lpa.decode=false/true in the build.prop file but this has no effect for me.
Are there any libs that need to be changed?

Stable Beats Audio for Jelly Bean HTC One X?

Hey folks. So I recently installed a JB ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1796340
Works greats, but the only problem that is I've lost the Beats Audio driver which came with Sense 4.0 and I'd quite like it back.
I tried this one here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motioncoding.beats&hl=en
which worked perfectly to begin with, but shortly after my system became completely unstable with apps constantly crashing, forcing me to wipe my phone and start over.
So does anyone know of a solution to this? Or am I just gonna have to wait a while for a stable release, given how new Jelly Bean is?
Thanks,
PS>If any of this sounds noobish, that would be because I actually am new to all this.

Beats Audio is prepared for Sense... And IceColdJelly is completely NonSense ROM. You have to make a decision:
1. Beats audio with any Sense ROM (Stock or Custom)
2. IceColdJelly without Beats Audio.
That's all....
If you want IceCOldJelly.... Just reflash the ROM. It will be OK, I guess.

Really? That sucks :crying: Other people seem to have had have luck on non-Sense phones, based on the reviews of the app I linked to. But in that case, I'll stick with Jelly Bean. HTC will be updating the One X eventually anyway...
Try this..it replaces lib files and installs custom dsp manager..its the nearest i can get to beats..i m running it on cm10 tho..

flash infinity's onextram sound enhancer mod
Since Beats audio really doesn't improve anything but the bass, cant you get the same result with an eq?
Power amp app is all you need.
Use this mod linked below (be sure to make a nandroid backup before you flash it). It has beats audio and a lot of other mods as well that you can select while installing the mod.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692233
The sound with the latest version (14) is pretty good and offers beats audio from Rezound.
Use it with a player like DoubleTwist or PowerAmp which has it's own equalizer, and you can get great audio quality on your music.
Also, System wide sound equalizers and DSP manager doesn't seem to have any effect on the sound on AOSP based ROMs.
Beats audio is effectively dynamic EQ, little more. Unlike a static EQ, it's trying to EQ based on 'beats'. At a very crude level, it's boosting certain frequencies when they are needed... e.g Bass on a musical 'beat' / peak. It's a little more complex than that - it's signal processing similar to an 'exciter'.
You can get comparable results with a decent EQ app (I use PlayerPro) although EQ in this form is static and not dynamic, but Beats Audio 'just works' for almost all apps.
It's also branded and hyped to high heaven - to make it seem like some amazing feature.
Lets us not forgets, we've had HTC trying this with SRS and Dolby too...
One final thing to remember - making something sound 'better' doesn't mean it's making it more accurate! usually it's the opposite. Most users will be playing 128K mp3 files so it's hardly surprising they feel the sound lacks a little depth.
Thanks for the replies guys. I'll try the One eXtreme Sound Enhancer tomorrow and report back after a trial run.
And yeah, I am aware that Beats Audio is nothing more than a glorified dynamic EQ that's hyped marketed up the **** to appeal to people who have no idea about music production, and who think that Mr. Dre (he's not a doctor...) can magically dip his fingers into your MP3 and enhance the production values of the original master. Like trying to tickle somebody in a photograph...But it does the job very well so I'll forgive the hype.

Works like a charm. No stability issues. Much better sound.

If you can't have it with nonsense rom, you don't need to bash the product..as far as I'm concern, Beats Audio is very good..

[Q] xLoud for Desire HD ICS ROM

Hi everyone,
Is there any compatible add-on of xLoud sound enhancement that can be applied to Desire HD's ICS ROM?
Last month, when I was still running my phone with Android2.3.4+Sense3.0
I flashed the xLoud Engine made by Pacha, and it worked GREAT!
Sound improvements for phone speakers are easily noticed.
Currently, my phone is running Blackout's V3.0 which contains Android4.0.4+Sense3.6
flashed the same add-on and my phone can't boot anymore, guess it might be compatibility issues
So...is there anything that can improve the phone speaker volume while running ICS?
I tried DSP Manager, headset effects are great, but for phone speakers...well...
I wouldn't post this thread if it works...
If there's anything out there that can help to improve phone speaker volumes
Let me know! I need it desperately:crying:
does anyone has any info on this?
I also look for the solution to improve loudspeaker sound issue.
It's quite small in call hand-free and ringtones that make many lost calls when walking around crowded people

Its because of cloud. There's a mod called louder jb But I didnt really see a difference when flashing it but you can try it. Just search because I don't have the thread favorited so can't link you to it
Sent from my Xperia Play (r800x)
I found a partial fix
Try it out. I think some code was lost when the drivers were ported. I used this mod from team acid the speaker is now almost where it should be
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2000749
Thanks for the info
This is because of poorly optimised drivers on the Jelly Bean Rom. I'm sure the Rom Developer could fix if he put more time into it. But as other seem to suggest. You could probably download some Mods to make JB phone louder.
oh yes i notice VERY MUCH it tears me apart knowing that JB or CM roms on xperia play will never support True XLoud ( the engine that makes the external speakers loud) this makes me want to get a new phone.
if you download Cosmic Dans version of Miui v5 you will notice that he has implemented some kind of semi XLoud, its like stage 1 xloud like "when you have to plugin headphone to fix xloud on GB" im currently trying to see what it is.

ac!d audio on at&t g pro

has anyone successful flash the ac!d audio engine to this phone? i tried the universal one after i rooted but it just kept the phone on a black screen after the lg logo shows twice thus causing me to unbrick as i dint have a backup yet. if anyone has flashed this mod could you provide which version and if it was the universal mod or one of the ones for a certain phone. im hoping we get this mod and it helps with the sound quality of this phone as it should be much better than it is.
I have been quite wary of flashing that mod. I am currently using xperia z walks with clearaudio and such working. Works gourd for Bluetooth but sound through speakers has an audible jitter every few seconds and I can't figure out how to Fox it.
Sent from my LG-E980 using xda app-developers app
Yeah, i dont think we can mod system files yet so acid wouldn't work. Tried walkman and a beats apk i found and so far poweramp sounds better to me than all of them.
