[ROM][KANG] CM7KFire MARCH10 - Kindle Fire Android Development

i originally made this rom for myself and a friend of mine, but decided over time others may enjoy it too. so i thought i'd post up it for everyone
this rom is built off the latest updates in the IngCr3at1on repo (Sblood) that i personally compiled originally on march 8th.
things i've added to it
-gapps
-beats audio hack
-intersecRaven's latest 02/23/12 OC kernel
-joenathan's ICS theme
-Volume Control app
-minor changes to presets
known issues:
-Google sync apps are not included. if you use contacts and calander apps, flash GB gapps after u flash this rom! I will include it in the next update
-if you have twrp and use power menu to reboot to recovery, you will bootloop! reboot and tap the power button at startup to get into recovery safely.. I don't plan on fixing this, someone needs to fix twrp lol
-browser closes randomly on occasion.
-Hulu+ shows device not recognized ( solution - thank fredexcav for this)
how to install:
-reboot into recovery
-make a backup of your current rom!
-perform a factory reset
-wipe system in mounts n storage
-wipe dalvik cache
-flash zip
screen shots:
lockscreen
homescreen layout
volume control location n color
to make your rom look like the above screen shots, follow these few tips:
*open theme chooser and select the ics theme
*move the drawer launcher to upper right hand corner and edit it to remove text below it
*disable dock and hidden dock in adwsettings under ui settings
*enable holo style and minimal ring style under cmsettings/lockscreen/style options
*activate volume control, choose run at startup, autohide, and top/center
again, i wanna thank all the developers involved out there.
fuss132 for the beats audio hack
joenathane for this his ics theme
intersectRaven for his kernel and wifi driver
sblood for his ingcr3at1on repo and sources, and support.
rubberbigpepper for a volume control solution without buttons.
jackpotclavin and whistlestop for all their original hard work on the cm source.
and anyone else i may forget to specifically mention.
if you have any issues, post em up. should be rock solid, but issues can and will happen. enjoy!

Downloaded and installed. Giving it a try now I'll let you know how everything is once I get a feel for it.

Could you please upload it in mediafire?

Nice, I picked up a Nook Tablet today at BB for the fiancee only to bring it home and fine out that it is limited due to new update from BN. I am taking it back in the AM and picking up a Kindle Fire, this looks like the Rom I will put on it, thanks for the work..

Using this for a little while and I love it..... Thanks to the dev for his hard work

From your home screen, press menu, more, adwsettings. Then go to general behavior, then animations n effects. And check enable wallpaper scrolling.
But u can also enable horizontal drawer in the included adwlauncher too just so you know.

Let your battery cycle a few times. Also, its overclcked by default so reduce clockspeed if u want.
If the kernel is the issue, I can replace it with the stock one.

Other people have mentioned this as well; if someone can confirm if this is an issue with the main tree or just the changes being made to the custom releases (I'm inclined to say the main tree at this point). If someone can confirm that and add it to the issue tracker linked on my thread I would appreciate it.

I think the kernel is the issue. A CM9 KANG rom has a same kernel and it makes my kindle fire so hot and reduce battery life.

A Little More about the ROMThe ROM comes with Touchwiz Launcher edited to match the COLOR of the THEME and it has some animation edits with a 5x4 app drawer. The Startup time on every boot is less than 15 seconds. (NOT INCLUDING FIRST BOOT RIGHT AFTER FLASH WHICH IS AROUND 40 SECS). We now have much better network Download and Upload speeds due to the edits we have made in the build.prop. This allows our phone to grab signal and data more aggressively. Download the Speedtest.net App to see what your speeds are after flashing this ROM. You are now given the ability to take Screenshots via the advanced power menu by Pressing and Holding the Power Button and selecting the Screenshot option. As an added bonus you can press the HOME button then the Power button to take a ScreenShot as well. You can take Screenshots and share it with us here on Facebook Or Twitter. Pretty much all the apps have been colored to match the theme, there are some apps that have not been colored yet but will be on future releases. If you see an app that you feel should be colored, feel free to let us know. XLoud and Bravia Engine are included. Xloud was made by sony and it is an app that not only clears up audio, it also makes it slightly louder. XLoud and Bravia are things you don't see, they are things that you hear. It's all code, Xloud is composed by a framework.jar file, an .xml for permission and 3 lines in the build.prop. Bravia consists of 2 files located in /system/ect/ that gets enabled by build.prop.

No it isnt because I helped develop this rom and its a release. Its not general because its not just news, its an actual release. From now on I will be working on development for this ROM.
And try reading whats in red next time!
First of all, I love this rom. But I was wondering if the lock screen clock can go back to white or a lighter color. It's pretty hard to see unless your wallpaper is white. A lot of the nicer ics wallpaper have a lot of black.

review MIUI RC1
Point ++
1. I really like Cm style power menu (and I do not need extra app to take SS )
2. and I really like the 2 options when holding the home button (make the app easier to kill, and there is a search feature too!)
3. File manager works very well for the LDPI
4. Now, the theme was change the overall look!
Bug
1. 2 option when holding the home button still use chinese language.
2. when I use a dark background theme, in the setting, the background has been changed to black (according to the theme) but does not change text color to white. colored text color remains black.
3. Can you fix that
And, thanks for MIUI ROM.

(Rom)(9/9/2012) Senseless ics based on tazz and mac's 3.6

New update, fixes contacts issue and ringtone issue. No other known bugs except occasional data drop, but I haven't gotten this.
Contacts fix: I changed out the ICS contacts with Go Dialer EX. There are a couple of themes included to choose from.
Ringtone fix: Added Tone Picker. Open this app, select tone picker, then your desired sound. Awesome little app.
I would like to find another way to fix these issues later with more of AOSP but all the Sense stuff is tied in so it may be a while.
Features: Sense mostly removed, left camera alone as IMO it's the best one out. Also, left stock music app. Extremely fast/smooth ROM. Includes Nova Launcher, AOSP JB messenging. Personalize does not work, as that was a part of sense, you will have to edit everything as in AOSP. More free memory, system memory. New blue droid boot animation. Aroma installer to select optional apps and GSM if desired (I have not modified this in any way so I take no credit, info and credit is in Aroma).
Issues: None that I know of.
Credits:
Base Rom = Tazzpatriot and Macrodroid (If you feel like donating, do so to them for their awesome base).
Tools Used = JRummy16 for ROM Toolbox Lite (Must have app). filmaker for The Rom Maker (Check it out here
Apps = All apps I used are available for free on the market and if u like please consider donating to respective developers.
Install Instructions : Get into recovery, format all partitions except sd card, flash the zip, thats it. (note: it takes forever to boot the first time be patient )
Theme Instructions : Flash rom first, boot it up, go back into recovery, flash theme. I recommend wiping cache/dalvik cache before flashing and mounting /system and /data but I have done it without doing those things.
Download: senselessicssucky.zip
Theme Download: theme.zip This is just something I cooked up in kitchen as I'm not done with my theme and having problems so credit goes to UOT Kitchen. Just some blue, nothing too fancy, flash in recovery.

I have removed most sense from this, I left music and camera, quadrant scores around 20000 with 250mb of free ram. Nova launcher, ex dialer, and jb messaging. Used online kitchen, made blue theme. All credit goes to tazz and mac for their great base, which I believe nitsuj contributed to also. Will update this before end of night with dl link, have to compile into flashable zip at home.

Yeah, if his ROM managed to do 10x as good as CM 7.2 you could definitely count me in to try this. haha.

Maybe for some unity you could have the de-sensation as a script in the installer of the normal rom?

Thanks for porting these roms, always good to have multiple choices when possible. Btw, from Josepho to Uruhara to Jessica, do you have any more identities here on XDA? Also, were you Jessical too?
Thanks again,
Mike T
Jessica, was over in the the N7 forum checking out these two roms & it looks like the GS Bean dev is using Smooth rom as a base, so are they basically the same with the exception of the GS Bean having Touchwiz?
Also, I see you are using twa_priv's KF build as a base which has tablet UI & since both Smooth & GS Bean also have a tablet UI option, how does it work with these roms? In other words, which one kicks in?
Thanks,
Mike T
Checking this out tomorrow first thing. Thanks

GS Bean actually doesn't use Touch Wiz unless you install the theme and use the launcher. In the 3rd post, I list all of the features GS Bean comes with. It has a lot more features than just Touch Wiz. As for tablet ui, I'm not sure. I've never used the tablet ui in twa_priv's build. All I know is that in aroma, when you select tablet ui, it installs some framework files and Nova Launcher.
Those who criticize our generation forget who raised it.

Ok thanks. I did see the framework files when I extracted the zip, guess I'll have to play around with it and see how the tablet ui goes. As for TW, it looks pretty cool, think I'll install the theme & check it out.
Thanks,
Mike T
Thanks for the hard work. It seems this would be better split in two threads...

Just installed this ROM last night, so far so good. Thank you
Installed the G Sbean rom this morning and I like it. I did run into a couple of small issues, one being a force close of the stock browser. I chose it in Aroma but it appears that it failed to install. I grabbed the browser.apk, pushed it to /system/app manually and it now works.
The other issue was with settings/storage. Every time I opened storage, I got the error "package access helper has stopped", clearing cache/dalvik and multiple reboots didn't fix it for me. It turns out that "DefaultContainerService.apk" is responsible for that function, so I extracted it from Hashcode's CM10.1 rom and replaced the existing apk. That took care of the error.
I did install the Touchwiz theme & it's pretty cool, looks really slick. Followed your instructions re: changing the dpi to install and it worked great. Also, there's a lot of good stuff included in the rom, I especially like the ACID & Pimp My Rom/Seeder mods.
Thanks again for porting this, it's a real nice addition to the existing KF roms. One last thing I noticed is the kernel is 3.0.57, does this kernel contain Hashcode's reverted USB commit from 1/15? That made a huge improvement in the tablet sleeping.

I uploaded this built a few days ago. I didn't notice the problems until after it was uploaded. I have a newer build with those issues solved, and it's updated with twa_priv's newest build. I'll try to upload it tonight. As for the stock browser, I never use it so I didn't know it didn't work. I'll fix that and upload asap.

Flashed SmoothROM last night and absolutely love it! It's running silky smooth and have yet to run into any kind of problems. I'm going to test it for a few more hours today, but must say that I'm loving it so far.
Is there any way to implement volume butons next to the navigation buttons ?
Re: [ROMS][AROMA][PORTS] SmoothROM & GalaxySbean[4.2.1]
So far running great. Quick question, anyone know where the usb debugging setting is located. Titanium is telling me it is not enabled and I cant seem to locate the setting. Really happy to see a new rom. Thanks for all the work and time.

I haven't tested this rom yet but on other 4.2.1 roms you have to go to setting/about and tap the build number 7 times to get the developer options to pop up and then you will get to set usb debugging
Stupid question... Is it possible to install TableUI after the rom is installed? Do I just go back into TWRP/Aroma, reinstall without wiping, but choose TableUI?
Love it so far!
Thanks.

[ROM][V20F][AT&T][P93x][NitroTNT v2.2] Stock-modified ICS [07-23-2013][UPDATE]

AT&T V20F NitroTNT Version 2.2
Based on V20F from HO!NO! (Thanks for all your work) and added Wind Kernel 3.7 ICS.
Additional thanks goes to mattman86, lyfkevin & kronicskillz whose work is also in this.
I made this with the intention making it as close to what AT&T would have done (without the bloat), plus make general improvements to the entire stock experience. One of the things I wanted to address was what some people have referred to as "LAG". I think I have addressed this nicely as version 2 has no perceivable lag. I also wanted to start addressing some of the ugliness (thank you mpsantiago) by restyling the icons to something I find more appealing. I look forward to everyone's feedback.
Status Bar icon changes:
KronicUI Mod....thank you Kronicskillz.....
4G and 4G lte icons made smaller (stock ICS had them way too big)
If you prefer the original system bar icons and theme download the attachment below
In future versions I intend to work on the cosmetics of things like the dialer app.

Thank you, no real development here just lots of experimenting and tweaking. I started this little project because I was never 100% happy with any of the stock versions out there and so this is the end result. Great battery life sleeps very deeply averages about 3% in 10 hrs at idle plus I also tweaked the GPS config file to eliminate my lock issues.

To port just take the /system/etc/WiFi contents from an su640 stock ICS ROM along with the boot.img file from the su640 version of wind kernel v3.x and it should boot and run just fine on an su640.

Looks great! just had to tell u this is the exact setup (- your icon/ status bar work) that I have been using since hono's release; even down to the launcher, Google now, wind, etc etc. Great minds think alike eh? Pretty much as close as we can get to a stock lg jellybean rom. That being said I haven't flashed but can pretty safely assume nitrotnt is crazy fast, incredibly stable, and one of the best roms for battery life available. I'm working on a similar cm10.1 based version now until WiFi is fixed on the official jb leak.
Edit: what app do you recommend for overclocking? Specifically the GPU both 2/3d. Also settings like ksm, zram, schedulers etc for best performance? I like to play around to find the best setups for performance, gaming, battery life, heavy usage etc. Thanks again

In regards to an overclocking app I just use no frills as I have no desire to oc the GPU. With that being said you could probably use CPU tuner or something similar. Since it has wind kernel it shouldn't be a problem. In regard to other settings I use what lfkevin has recommended for the ICS version of wind kernel (intellidemand & row) even though for the cm10.1 version he recommends ondemand and cfq. What the differences are I don't know I am still a bit of a newbie. . In regards to zram. I remember HO!NO! a long time ago recommending to not change those settings, but that could have also been in regards to cm9. I hope this helps some. I really am not a developer I just can figure out how to tinker. Best of luck and I hope you enjoy this ROM.

i have a few comments... first of all nice work not bad at all.
2nd i noticed that it runs much smoother with apex launcher.
3rd fyi MHL is verified working on this rom. (due to based on stock nature)
4 is a request, is it possible to add circle with percentage battery icon and the blue data signal icon?, also is it possible to make bluetooth go grey instead of white when not in use, and make it slightly smaller?
not a huge deal but the white is a bit anoying, also would be nice to remove am/pm from status bar as it takes up room and almost nobody needs it
overall good work nice rom

Thank you for the comments. In regards to the launcher, the Optimus UI is just my personal preference but if you want to use Apex just freeze the Optimus launcher after you install Apex so it isn't using any system memory.
In regards to your request it would be as simple as replacing the systemui.apk from HO!NO!'s v20f since I used his ROM as a base for this. As far as the AM/PM that will require modifying XML files in the systemui.apk so that is going to take some more time to work through those. For the Bluetooth it would just be a simple PNG file swap, easy enough. So I will see about providing you a modified file for that. Who knows I even might like it better . Thank you again for the critique.

thanks man, one other thing i noticed is that poweramp is crashing, i haven't figured out if its rom related or not yet, if you feel like it you could install the poweramp trial and tell me if it crashes on your phone, thanks again.
i noticed the bluetooth thing right away cuz i leave mine perma on, since i use my bluetooth stereo in my car and i can't be bothered to turn it off and on every time, i also noticed that leaving it on doesn't consume much power (atleast i dont think it does).
---------- Post added at 09:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:27 AM ----------
just to clarify i want the blue icons from CM cuz i use an all blue theme, icons, background etc, that's why i like the blue data/wifi/battery icons, if it's too much work to change them all though, or if other people dont want it, just don't worry about it i dont want to be too much trouble.
is there a way for me to just mod them on mine? ive never looked into it.
edit ----> i isolated the crash problem i think, it's happening to anything that uses sdcard, so i think my card needs a format.
- update, i can play media files off my sdcard with es file explorer, but not any media player that uses the system media scanner
- update i think the is the fault of an app i used that was suposed to rescan media.
i tried a bunch nothing fixing it so i'm going to do a full wipe and try again, i'm liking this rom though it has potential if i get it all working.
i got the crashing issue after formatting sdcard and full wipe and reinstall, something is amiss in the rom i think.

so the fix for this is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39845686&highlight=poweramp#post39845686
i believe, i no longer have the rom installed but i'm assuming thats it in case anyone else needs it. it's a flashable zip that removes some of the tweaks he did that cause some apps to crash like poweramp
I will have some free time Sunday, I think and will look at incorporating these changes. Never noticed the power amp issue because I don't use but I will try to duplicate. I will also install the fix to make sure it doesn't create other issues before I roll it out in an update. Thanks again for your feedback. I have been using this ROM 100% since I rolled it out and just love it. Just to give you an idea I have never run with a ROM longer than 2 weeks before installing something different and I have had this phone for over a year.

EDIT--> i've been trying to mod the SystemUI.apk for all blue icons and circle with percentage battery icon but i'm having problems signing the apk i have to reinstall jdk or something not sure, the error i'm getting on verify sig is a known bug when i searched it.
