review MIUI RC1
Point ++
1. I really like Cm style power menu (and I do not need extra app to take SS )
2. and I really like the 2 options when holding the home button (make the app easier to kill, and there is a search feature too!)
3. File manager works very well for the LDPI
4. Now, the theme was change the overall look!
Bug
1. 2 option when holding the home button still use chinese language.
2. when I use a dark background theme, in the setting, the background has been changed to black (according to the theme) but does not change text color to white. colored text color remains black.
3. Can you fix that
And, thanks for MIUI ROM.
you're the best

Yes, i know. I read that BT calls don't work on your first post The last question: is it so difficult to make the BT work? I ask you because a lot of Roms are fully working, except Bluetooth. Unfortunatly i use a lot my BT headset, so i'm using a rom based on the original firmware. But it's still Froyo
Thanks a lot.

[ROM][KANG] CM7KFire MARCH10

i originally made this rom for myself and a friend of mine, but decided over time others may enjoy it too. so i thought i'd post up it for everyone
this rom is built off the latest updates in the IngCr3at1on repo (Sblood) that i personally compiled originally on march 8th.
things i've added to it
-gapps
-beats audio hack
-intersecRaven's latest 02/23/12 OC kernel
-joenathan's ICS theme
-Volume Control app
-minor changes to presets
known issues:
-Google sync apps are not included. if you use contacts and calander apps, flash GB gapps after u flash this rom! I will include it in the next update
-if you have twrp and use power menu to reboot to recovery, you will bootloop! reboot and tap the power button at startup to get into recovery safely.. I don't plan on fixing this, someone needs to fix twrp lol
-browser closes randomly on occasion.
-Hulu+ shows device not recognized ( solution - thank fredexcav for this)
how to install:
-reboot into recovery
-make a backup of your current rom!
-perform a factory reset
-wipe system in mounts n storage
-wipe dalvik cache
-flash zip
screen shots:
lockscreen
homescreen layout
volume control location n color
to make your rom look like the above screen shots, follow these few tips:
*open theme chooser and select the ics theme
*move the drawer launcher to upper right hand corner and edit it to remove text below it
*disable dock and hidden dock in adwsettings under ui settings
*enable holo style and minimal ring style under cmsettings/lockscreen/style options
*activate volume control, choose run at startup, autohide, and top/center
again, i wanna thank all the developers involved out there.
fuss132 for the beats audio hack
joenathane for this his ics theme
intersectRaven for his kernel and wifi driver
sblood for his ingcr3at1on repo and sources, and support.
rubberbigpepper for a volume control solution without buttons.
jackpotclavin and whistlestop for all their original hard work on the cm source.
and anyone else i may forget to specifically mention.
if you have any issues, post em up. should be rock solid, but issues can and will happen. enjoy!

From your home screen, press menu, more, adwsettings. Then go to general behavior, then animations n effects. And check enable wallpaper scrolling.
But u can also enable horizontal drawer in the included adwlauncher too just so you know.

Let your battery cycle a few times. Also, its overclcked by default so reduce clockspeed if u want.
If the kernel is the issue, I can replace it with the stock one.

Other people have mentioned this as well; if someone can confirm if this is an issue with the main tree or just the changes being made to the custom releases (I'm inclined to say the main tree at this point). If someone can confirm that and add it to the issue tracker linked on my thread I would appreciate it.

I think the kernel is the issue. A CM9 KANG rom has a same kernel and it makes my kindle fire so hot and reduce battery life.

But there is higher chance that in CM7 we will have fully working camera. While in CM9 the chance is lower due to lack of official ICS support from samsung. For me, more choice is better On my previous phone (galaxy ace) CM7 is so much better than stock or modified stock rom.

"CyanogenMod 7 firmware is based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with additional custom code contributed by the CyanogenMod Team. The custom portions of CyanogenMod are primarily written by Cyanogen (Steve Kondik) but include contributions from the xda-developers community (such as an improved launcher tray, dialer, and browser) and code from established open source projects (such as BusyBox in the shell)"
So I could'nt get your point, bro. It says exactly what I'm thinking it is. An Android 2.3 based custom ROM, modified by CyanogenMod Team.
My point is: If it is Android 2.3 based and we have all the drivers to Android 2.3 developed and working, why it can't be used on CM7 ROM?
What is different? The code is all rewritten? Is it being developed throught other ways?

(ROM) MessyMiui 2.9.14 - Develpment Stopped

Well here is a Miui rom that I will be maintaining and adding to over the weeks.
I will be collecting a number of mods and adding them to the ROM as the new miui release comes out. Things will change with the ROM as we progress as I develop it I will add new stuff to customise it even more and make it stand out.
The name MessyMiui is because I am not really a developer more of a Messer, I love to mess and see what I can learn and make.
This Week:
Dolby Sound
Xperia Beats
Thanks
Knight47 Xperia Beats http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1734627
Miui
Miuiandroid for the base ROM
More tweaks planned for system, sound and picture tell me what other tweaks you would like and I will do my best to include them in my weekly releases
*I am not responsible if you brick your phone, drop you coffee or miss your morning alarm, I have only tried this on my phone and it has unlocked bootloader so not sure if works on locked bootloader*

I wonder if I can make some requests here for the ROM.
Hope "flashing it on top of the latest MiUi without wiping data" goes smoothly. Good work btw.

Anyway chance to update the base firware to 6.1.A.2.45?
That in itself will free up memory and make better performance overall.
Thanks!!
how about separate beats/dolby addon from your rom or make it as optional addon ? might try on your rom later..good work

[APP] OpenSEMC - V0.99

Hi XDA,
Today, I thought it would be the right day to announce the first public release of my APP - OpenSEMC.
Features:
Mount your partitions read-write/read-only
Get a brighter screen on custom ROMs (ALS Hack)
Force ALS sensor ON/OFF (ALS Sensor)
Force-enable a Navigation Bar (works on all ROMs)
Enable USB Mass Storage mode (works on all ROMs)
[SOON] Convert your partitions to the filesystem you like! (ext2,3,4/FAT/ReiserFS, BTRFS, ….)
What I consider particularly important for my APP is it's Open-Source availability.
Everyone is able to contribute and bring in new ideas; and anyone is allowed to use my code.
You can find the source link below.
I will rework the horrible layout of this thread once I have some more time.

How about ability to change the height of the nav bar in all ROMs? The standard one is pretty chunky and takes up more space than necessary
For what

I thought it was themes and apps section.
Restart systemui instead of the phone for the navbar

Suggestion to go with the navigation bar: an option to disable the soft keys. I can imagine people wanting the navigation bar, and having the buttons underneath disabled.
I kinda remember reading this wasn't the easiest of modifications. I might be wrong though.
NOT working for my Ion running XZX. Always ask for root permission again and again. Is this ROM supported?

Note: this app is supposed to work with OpenSEMC, and it does. It probably isn't made for any other rom other than OpenSEMC, so expect it not to. Unless RaymanFX says otherwise, of course.
Slainte!
Sterling work dude, I had tried several 4.2.x roms and they all had about 50% as the maximum brightness, bloody infuriating.
Now my XS is searingly bright on opensemc beta 3.
Kudos.
There is no ways in this universe in which I can thank you RaymanFX, cause your app brought my bright screen back to its bright condition. Thanks A LOT
Great app Rayman... Works well on eXistenZ rom. Great work ,thank you.
anyone have tested this on leaked jb rom?
Edit: it works. But cam button got cut off
