[Q] MTP device use w/ root - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

My ****ty car stereo won't recognize my phone with it rooted. When it's on stock and it uses the "MTP" for data transfer it will work. Are there any flashable zips that will change it back to MTP and still keep my rooted ROM?

Go to Settings -> Applications -> Debugging -> Disable USB debugging.
Wording may be a bit off, but that is from memory. When you turn on USB debugging, it disables MTP.

Thanks dude. I'll give it a try

[Q] Use phone as a USB device in OSX?

When I connect my phone to my mac, it only shows up when I have kies running. I can't see it as a usb storage device like I can on windows. Is there a way to fix this?
I figured it out. I'll list the steps in case another OSX user needs help.
1. Enable USB Debugging mode (Settings > Applications > Development > Enable - USB Debugging
2. Connect your phone to your computer.
3. On your phone, bring down the drop down menu and select the USB connection, then click enable.
4. You should be able to use your phone as a USB storage device, now.

[Q] Forcing usb debugging

So my screen is broken and i am trying to use [email protected] but i can't enable the usb debugging. Is there any way to enable it on the computer?
I don't want to flash a rom because i want to keep the data.
I have the same problem, screen on my wifes E4GT is broke but phone seems to work. When I connect via USB it shows the two devices but no drives show up. Tried kies and it says to enable debugging mode, which I thought I did but I don't remember.

[Q] USB Debugging grayed out

I want to run Helium to connect the device to another phone or to my computer but it requires USB debugging turned on when connected via usb and USB debugging is grayed out in settings. Anyone know how to get it to turn on?
From the Developer Options screen, turn off Developers Options, then turn it back on. Now you should be able to check the USB debugging box.
Need to disconect the cable to be able to tap it.
Thanks very much! Worked like a charm.

HiSuite Mounting

Is there a way to stop the HiSuite image from mounting when connecting via USB? Mate SE, Android 8.0 (ota), rooted, macOS.
If you change the developer settings to usb debugging, usb allow adb debugging in charge only, and usb connection to charge only, that will avoid the hi Suite stuff.
If you change the settings and then connect, keep the settings app open, for some reason you have to go back and reset them again after connecting. At least that's what I have to do, they don't seem to stick.

Click to collapse
Thanks!
Just to follow up, I discovered a more permanent solution, if you're rooted:
Rename (or delete) the file autorun.iso located at /data/hw_init/version/region_comm/oversea/cdrom
Can't mount it if it's not there

USB Debugging and its relationship to "Use USB to" options

Wonder if it is only my reme! Unlocked boot-loader. Ver: RMX2081_11_A_41. Not checked on 33 or39.
1. Enable USB Debugging - connect to PC - Select usb connection only for charging device - Debug option goes off.
2. Enable USB Debugging - connect to PC - Select usb connection for "transfer files" - Debug option stays on.
3. Connect to PC with USB debugging on and select "transfer files" - pull down QS and tap to select usb connect is only for charging - Debugging forced off in dev options settings.
Is it something implemented in Android 10? Never had a device with stock Q ROM. Used only custom Q ROMs on earlier devices and not exposed to this implementation if it is so! Did not want to upload a screen record of the same as it is about ~11 MB.
Can someone please throw some light on this and how USB debugging option has to be tied to USB connect choices - if it happens on anyone's device? And thanks in advance.
I have read this - https://www.realme.com/in/support/kw/doc/FAQ1114 though it is an older one but still not able to figure out the relationship when USB transfer files can exist without dev options but not the other way around.
