[MOD][ICS][ROOT] Custom build.prop (based on crossix's mod) - Acer Iconia Tab A100

The mods are not mine, I only adapted the [MOD] HC custom build.prop - Updated: 1/29/12 into ICS's build.prop.
Works fine on my A100 running [LEAK][ICS 4.0.3] Acer_AV041_A100_0.009.00_WW_GEN1
Not tested on A101.
Mods (from [MOD] HC custom build.prop - Updated: 1/29/12 ):
A little about the build.prop file and what it does:
Your build.prop file contains a lot of information about your tab. Things like what model, version of android, manufacturer and other info can be found within, but it also can control certain aspects such as display density, wifi scan time and other misc tweaks that improve overall smoothness.
This build.prop file contains the following changes:
# Makes the market and apps think your a100 is really an a500 (letting you find and buy more apps then what you'd normally see in the market)
# Speed up UI (smoother flinging)
# Battery saving tweaks
# Inet optimization tweeks
# Additional tweaks to fine tune the touch screen (still has the double letter issue when typing too fast)
# Additional tweaks to improve battery saving while tablet sleep
# Comments for the various tweaks
# Added settings to improve image quality when taking pictures and recording video and speed up bootimes (just by a few seconds) [thanks to tehgyb of xda]
# Added settings to improve streaming media streaming (improves youtube preformance) [thanks to Icewyng of xda]
# Added settings to improve app compatibility (less fc's) [thanks to Icewyng of xda]
Installation guide (from [MOD] HC custom build.prop - Updated: 1/29/12 ):
- Open root explorer and navigate to /system and tap the mount r/w button
- Unzip the file and put build.prop in /system (be sure to make a backup copy first!)
- Reboot and watch your tab fly even faster!

Thank you, I plan install ICS, Root and then implement your MOD, the Memory Swap (so I can use my 32GB card instead of the Measly 5GB that Acer provides). Thanks again, I didn't know they limited the Apps on the A100! I'm dealing with that BS on my Prime. It's ludicrous that I can play Modern Combat 3 effortlessly on my G2x, but it's supposedly incompatible with my Prime.....So, I'm thanking you ahead of me even getting my little A100. Hope the best for me!

Any thoughts on if this fixes the digitizer issue? I don't have ICS anymore to test. You can test by downloading TouchUtil app and just run your finger across the screen and see if it'll skip. This was one reason I went back to HC with crossix original build.prop mod.
Here was the original issue with HC but was fixed with crossix build.prop mod
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrDXfj6TchM&list=UUHqepxR6_suYYKySqKxymDg&index=16&feature=plcp

This didn't work for me. After installing my tab went into an infinite reboot and I had to go into recovery and restore back to defaults. When I was using HC I was using Crossix's mod and never had a problem with that.

Worked fine for me. However the touch screen is still a bit wonky
Sent from my HTC Glacier using Tapatalk

Is there any changes in the stock 009 build and the stock 012 build (build.prop files)?
The touch screen does seem to be better in the latest leak. But it might have been the Acer Liquid app.

Did you reboot?

same problem here, market isn't showing all apps. I rebooted, but the gameloft games still don't show up. Order and Chaos, the only game i play, is now unattainable. Thanks

If you guys are still having issue with market you can try this mod and just edit the lines yourself.

OP I noticed you didnt change any of the build.description and build fingerprint line to a500.

That is what caused the apps not to appear in the market with the build.prop in the OP. I edited it for those who want it (It's attached). Now all games and apps are available (at least the ones which I got with crossix's original one ). It's based on the 1.012.00 release.
NB: Do not extract it. Just remove the "zip" file extension.

No, it still does not show up in the market. Good thing I made a backup .

It found all the gameloft games on mine after I manually edited the lines. The market O&C doesn't work for me now though, I installed it via the apk a while back and somehow made my market think it was purchased from there, but when I try to install from the market, it just hangs at starting download. I bought it from gameloft's site, so I can just email them for a copy of the apk.

You could give it a try but the Acer ring won't work if you do (assuming it boots).

Oh sure I did all that, but maybe it has something to do with the fact that my tablet its encrypted??!! Not a big deal Judy had to go through the installation and rotting again, will see what it happens after I decrypt it.

[TOOLS] Mode10 Tools released !

Hey guys,
it's done! The first version of our (DiamondBack2010 and me) M10Editor is released.
Check out the original thread here.
Is this useful to the common folk? I'm guessing no since there is no description?
Nice work, Flemmard and Diamondback!
Well as it's written, it's DEV-Tools.
It allows you to edit m10 files for new sense (3).
Devs will know what is is
Ahh so this means that progress on the sensation port can start again right. I think I remember that's where the devs were stumped. Anyways kudos to the op and devs that made this happen great job guys.

Since these are released, are we looking at an update to the HTC sensation port since we can now fix the graphics which was the main issue?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Yes it is possible to fix the resolution on the sensation port but it would be more ideal to use it on the leaked flyer rom as its an updated version of sense 3

Hey guys!
Here comes the new version! Biggest change is that we are now able to decompile and edit the pictures which are compiled in m10-files.
But keep in mind that this feature is in beta status atm, so please be careful while using it.
You will be able to change any pictures inside the m10-files. For example the "ring" on the lockscreen (see my previous pictures) or the backgrounds of the lockscreens.
BUT: You can only edit these files. Resizing is NOT supported right now. You WILL destroy the m10-file! Seriously!
Best way is to open up the original picture directly in your preferred image-editor (right click on picture-->Open in Explorer)
Editing images is not super easy. If you do something wrong, it's likely you will screw the apk. So please be careful.
A little tip: Most images are NOT in the normal apks but in "shared.m10" in fusion.apk. Even if they are in both apks, Sense uses often the ones from shared.m10.
Here is the full changelog:
0.5.22.313
image-files now de/encodable (!!!)
needs to be activated under "m10-files"
please keep in mind, that the m10-image compression is NOT lossless,
so please do only decode the images if you want to change them.
Otherwise the quality may decrease after a certain amount of decompile/recompile-turns
please DO NOT resize images yet. This WILL screw your apk.
Editing the image is no problem.
this feature is beta at the moment. So please be careful with it.
It is likely you will screw your apk if used without care.
added possibility to work with the program without using ADB & zipalign
added generic ADB-Window
divided property view into "Known Properties" and "Unknown Properties"
got rid of de/encoder.exe, now done via native library (you can use them via commandline nevertheless)
properties are now completely sorted
some other bugs fixed (mainly cosmetic)
Download here.
New Version
Hey guys,
i got a new version for you.
We mainly fixed an critical bug in the image decoding process.

V6 super charger??

Does it work on this fourm

Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Does it work on this phone? Sure - if you have a kernel with init.d support (stock kernel does not).
All you do is put the script in /etc/init.d give it the right permissions (same as every other script in that folder) and reboot.
I know the dev for it has made a GUI for the script now too - all it does is write to the V6 file so you don't *need* the GUI, however for the majority of people it would make things easier.
Here's the link
What is this v6 super charger you guys are talking about?
Don't be mean, I just don't knwow
It's an itit.d script file that alters the lowmem killer parameters. It's also adjusts a ton of other settings like writeback, nice, vm settings, and so on.

it should work, he made it to work for several phones. It's just ironing out what settings to use is what is going to be the rough patch.
The Supercharger does work on our phones as long as you follow the instructions. I've ran it since I've rooted my phone. However now that I'm running Calkulin's rom I can't really see a big difference. Try it out
Does it work with LoS & Zedomax kernels?
Yep and it works well. Also if you guys want some more responsiveness try the galaxy s touchscreen booster with super optimized settings free on the market
Sent from me using the XDA app
Yeah init.d scripts are generally not kernel dependent. They normally are just adjusting system settings and as long as your kernel supports running init.d scripts they will work. I've yet to find a custom kernel that doesn't support them.
No typing or anything. Just place it in etc/init.d make sure the permissions are correct and reboot.

[ROM][KANG] CM7KFire MARCH10

i originally made this rom for myself and a friend of mine, but decided over time others may enjoy it too. so i thought i'd post up it for everyone
this rom is built off the latest updates in the IngCr3at1on repo (Sblood) that i personally compiled originally on march 8th.
things i've added to it
-gapps
-beats audio hack
-intersecRaven's latest 02/23/12 OC kernel
-joenathan's ICS theme
-Volume Control app
-minor changes to presets
known issues:
-Google sync apps are not included. if you use contacts and calander apps, flash GB gapps after u flash this rom! I will include it in the next update
-if you have twrp and use power menu to reboot to recovery, you will bootloop! reboot and tap the power button at startup to get into recovery safely.. I don't plan on fixing this, someone needs to fix twrp lol
-browser closes randomly on occasion.
-Hulu+ shows device not recognized ( solution - thank fredexcav for this)
how to install:
-reboot into recovery
-make a backup of your current rom!
-perform a factory reset
-wipe system in mounts n storage
-wipe dalvik cache
-flash zip
screen shots:
lockscreen
homescreen layout
volume control location n color
to make your rom look like the above screen shots, follow these few tips:
*open theme chooser and select the ics theme
*move the drawer launcher to upper right hand corner and edit it to remove text below it
*disable dock and hidden dock in adwsettings under ui settings
*enable holo style and minimal ring style under cmsettings/lockscreen/style options
*activate volume control, choose run at startup, autohide, and top/center
again, i wanna thank all the developers involved out there.
fuss132 for the beats audio hack
joenathane for this his ics theme
intersectRaven for his kernel and wifi driver
sblood for his ingcr3at1on repo and sources, and support.
rubberbigpepper for a volume control solution without buttons.
jackpotclavin and whistlestop for all their original hard work on the cm source.
and anyone else i may forget to specifically mention.
if you have any issues, post em up. should be rock solid, but issues can and will happen. enjoy!

Let your battery cycle a few times. Also, its overclcked by default so reduce clockspeed if u want.
If the kernel is the issue, I can replace it with the stock one.

Other people have mentioned this as well; if someone can confirm if this is an issue with the main tree or just the changes being made to the custom releases (I'm inclined to say the main tree at this point). If someone can confirm that and add it to the issue tracker linked on my thread I would appreciate it.

I think the kernel is the issue. A CM9 KANG rom has a same kernel and it makes my kindle fire so hot and reduce battery life.

[ROM][V20F][AT&T][P93x][NitroTNT v2.2] Stock-modified ICS [07-23-2013][UPDATE]

AT&T V20F NitroTNT Version 2.2
Based on V20F from HO!NO! (Thanks for all your work) and added Wind Kernel 3.7 ICS.
Additional thanks goes to mattman86, lyfkevin & kronicskillz whose work is also in this.
I made this with the intention making it as close to what AT&T would have done (without the bloat), plus make general improvements to the entire stock experience. One of the things I wanted to address was what some people have referred to as "LAG". I think I have addressed this nicely as version 2 has no perceivable lag. I also wanted to start addressing some of the ugliness (thank you mpsantiago) by restyling the icons to something I find more appealing. I look forward to everyone's feedback.
Status Bar icon changes:
KronicUI Mod....thank you Kronicskillz.....
4G and 4G lte icons made smaller (stock ICS had them way too big)

Looks great! just had to tell u this is the exact setup (- your icon/ status bar work) that I have been using since hono's release; even down to the launcher, Google now, wind, etc etc. Great minds think alike eh? Pretty much as close as we can get to a stock lg jellybean rom. That being said I haven't flashed but can pretty safely assume nitrotnt is crazy fast, incredibly stable, and one of the best roms for battery life available. I'm working on a similar cm10.1 based version now until WiFi is fixed on the official jb leak.
Edit: what app do you recommend for overclocking? Specifically the GPU both 2/3d. Also settings like ksm, zram, schedulers etc for best performance? I like to play around to find the best setups for performance, gaming, battery life, heavy usage etc. Thanks again

In regards to an overclocking app I just use no frills as I have no desire to oc the GPU. With that being said you could probably use CPU tuner or something similar. Since it has wind kernel it shouldn't be a problem. In regard to other settings I use what lfkevin has recommended for the ICS version of wind kernel (intellidemand & row) even though for the cm10.1 version he recommends ondemand and cfq. What the differences are I don't know I am still a bit of a newbie. . In regards to zram. I remember HO!NO! a long time ago recommending to not change those settings, but that could have also been in regards to cm9. I hope this helps some. I really am not a developer I just can figure out how to tinker. Best of luck and I hope you enjoy this ROM.

i have a few comments... first of all nice work not bad at all.
2nd i noticed that it runs much smoother with apex launcher.
3rd fyi MHL is verified working on this rom. (due to based on stock nature)
4 is a request, is it possible to add circle with percentage battery icon and the blue data signal icon?, also is it possible to make bluetooth go grey instead of white when not in use, and make it slightly smaller?
not a huge deal but the white is a bit anoying, also would be nice to remove am/pm from status bar as it takes up room and almost nobody needs it
overall good work nice rom

Thank you for the comments. In regards to the launcher, the Optimus UI is just my personal preference but if you want to use Apex just freeze the Optimus launcher after you install Apex so it isn't using any system memory.
In regards to your request it would be as simple as replacing the systemui.apk from HO!NO!'s v20f since I used his ROM as a base for this. As far as the AM/PM that will require modifying XML files in the systemui.apk so that is going to take some more time to work through those. For the Bluetooth it would just be a simple PNG file swap, easy enough. So I will see about providing you a modified file for that. Who knows I even might like it better . Thank you again for the critique.

thanks man, one other thing i noticed is that poweramp is crashing, i haven't figured out if its rom related or not yet, if you feel like it you could install the poweramp trial and tell me if it crashes on your phone, thanks again.
i noticed the bluetooth thing right away cuz i leave mine perma on, since i use my bluetooth stereo in my car and i can't be bothered to turn it off and on every time, i also noticed that leaving it on doesn't consume much power (atleast i dont think it does).
---------- Post added at 09:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:27 AM ----------
just to clarify i want the blue icons from CM cuz i use an all blue theme, icons, background etc, that's why i like the blue data/wifi/battery icons, if it's too much work to change them all though, or if other people dont want it, just don't worry about it i dont want to be too much trouble.
is there a way for me to just mod them on mine? ive never looked into it.
edit ----> i isolated the crash problem i think, it's happening to anything that uses sdcard, so i think my card needs a format.
- update, i can play media files off my sdcard with es file explorer, but not any media player that uses the system media scanner
- update i think the is the fault of an app i used that was suposed to rescan media.
i tried a bunch nothing fixing it so i'm going to do a full wipe and try again, i'm liking this rom though it has potential if i get it all working.
i got the crashing issue after formatting sdcard and full wipe and reinstall, something is amiss in the rom i think.

so the fix for this is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39845686&highlight=poweramp#post39845686
i believe, i no longer have the rom installed but i'm assuming thats it in case anyone else needs it. it's a flashable zip that removes some of the tweaks he did that cause some apps to crash like poweramp
I will have some free time Sunday, I think and will look at incorporating these changes. Never noticed the power amp issue because I don't use but I will try to duplicate. I will also install the fix to make sure it doesn't create other issues before I roll it out in an update. Thanks again for your feedback. I have been using this ROM 100% since I rolled it out and just love it. Just to give you an idea I have never run with a ROM longer than 2 weeks before installing something different and I have had this phone for over a year.

where did you get the keyboard from for this rom?
EDIT--> i've been trying to mod the SystemUI.apk for all blue icons and circle with percentage battery icon but i'm having problems signing the apk i have to reinstall jdk or something not sure, the error i'm getting on verify sig is a known bug when i searched it.

As stated in my OP, exactly like Cyanogenmod.
It states that the CPU Sleeper init.d scripts are included, but what if I have the donated app/market paid?
Should I leave that app and stick to the init.d scripts u got? Or install, it wont affect but bolster the slrep mode?
Btw, niceeeeee. STOCK CM AOSP. I've been an avid follower of your builds.

Haha, I wasn't aware anyone really followed any of my work, but thank you for the kind words!
As for the CPU Sleeper script, I don't know because I haven't purchased it. But since you have purchased it, I'd recommend simply going into init.d and deleting CpuSleeper and using your premium app. The script should be okay, but you paid for an app you should use it!
I think it couldn't hurt to leave the scripts in it with the donations app.
Serious man, I follow what you post in here, you bloat out the ROM to bare minimum, and I look for those. Do far you are the only one that finds what I find and no one else.
Gonna try this now. I'll nand in a bit after download

Great Rom!! Would love for it to be my daily but when playing audio thru Play Music using headphones, Only getting sound on my right side. Checked headphones it's not them the issue. Gonna try a different audio app and last option test a different rom and see if it's my hardware or the rom
Update
Tried with PowerAmp, and both sides are working. Play Music again wouldn't work and crashed later on for me. So its an issue with the Rom.

This build is a rocket with Apex pro, sidekick, hope you keep working on it. I like your trimmed down builds, snappy.
Hey side! Were you on the old T-Mobile sidekick 4g as well?
Just curious, love your trimmed down apps. But the new t999L can't install this room due to the script. Could you update it for us? I'm away from my main pc on a business trip. Much thanks for your hard work.

Yeah I was there until people became ungreatful, so I gave the phone away to my cousin for free. I had my phone given back from developer bhundven and said quits with them. I mean, windxixi is doing a GB Rom over there now.
I actually don't know anything about the T999L and how to get it to work editing the scripts, I would appreciate anyone's help on the matter. Thank you!

Off topic but I must ask, what exactly was there to be ungrateful for?
EDIT: @chjema I'll edit the script for you and upload as long as Side is ok with it.

That the ROMs we were on were all the same because Samsung left us with the same kernel and firmware. I also ran into some problems for using openly available scripts..but that's a story not suited for the forum and if you must know via pm.
And I'm fine with any contribution to open source man. Thanks for the help, can you get it to work on both t999l and t999? I'll edit op with credit and make this ROM supported for both of the devices.
