Hi Guys,
I need a new case for my SGS2 (with 2000mAh battery). I had the Rearth Ringke, it didn't last long (the coating went off after 4 months). Very disappointing.
Looking for something better that will last longer, made of silicone and slim.
Any recommendation ?

I ordered the SGP ultra silke and the Case Mate SafeSkin (a bit thicker than the SGP and the Rearth). I think that the SGP is exactly the same as the Rearth, I hope it isn't (I don't want to replace it after 4 month again).

Have it on my phone, its Slim and nice, I have had it on since the phone was released.
Same case, no problems.
Do take it off from time to time and holding the phone feels sexy
With any case its going to size to the phone, but this is my personal preference.
I've bought the samsung official one in silicon(go amazon), no so slim but very resistant . I'm using it for almost 6 month and it still look new ! It fits perfectly with the 2000mah battery and cover !
Or if you want you can buy an invisible shield for your GS2 , but it's not a case, it's like a screen protector but all around your phone. (but i used to remenber that it's relatively expensive , around 30$ /w shipping) ...

By "slim" I meant like the cheap Chinese case from the link above. I have this case, using it now and don't like it at all (the hard buttons are hard to press and it doesn't have hit absorbing material, like the more expensive silicone cases).

There are forums which discuss the same issues that you have and i have seen a few, however I do admit freely that its difficult to search for them. You can take my word for it though that it has been discussed before, as i too have a SGP Ultra Silke Soul Black case and i have the extended 2000mAh battery.
And the SGP Fits perfectly! So dont worry!

about the case , i think i prefer the casemate tough . same sort of style case yet doesnt seem to have as much silicone exspsosed to attract dust and also seems to fit a bit tighter to the handset then the otterbox .
The top bit that wont lay flat would annoy me like it did you so thanks for pointing that out .

Many thanks for the compliments. I usually make a mistake here and there but nothing major, if you look at some of my older videos you will see it's just a matter of keeping at it and practicing haha.
I've got a Tough for the HTC Sensation and I can relate to what you mean, the Tough seems to cover up more of the Silicone, however the only thing I'm not a big fan of is that the Tough leaves the bottom portion very flimsy.

I actually don't have the raised silicone at the top that you complained about. It may be because your phone is White and modded that its dimensions differ from the original galaxy s2

Someone commented stating that as well, it may be because I have an SGP Glas screen protector which adds some thickness.
I have the same issue, and it doesn't have a screen protector.
This case is perfect without the front silicon.

Thanks for letting me know that. I was starting to think it was my SGP Glas but now that you're experiencing it, perhaps some cases have their silicone a little more stretched than others.

Awesome reviews you do here! Glad to see you like your Otterbox case as much as I do. One thing your review doesn't cover (it didn't really need to) is the included screen protector. Here is my short review of that:
The included protector appears to be there for the sake of being there. It isn't sticky, which is about the only pro I can think of. It is a fingerprint magnet. It's finish is one that not only do fingerprints look awful when the screen is off, but actually interfere with the colours of the screen when it is on, mostly when viewing lots of white. It is hard to tell if it is interfering with my touchscreen, I really do think that it has affected sensitivity just a bit, but that could be a placebo.
All in all, if you are cheap and anal (like me), you will find yourself using it because it was "free" with the case. I do want to look into getting an SGB Glas protector, but don't want to spend another $35 on that, and then get a 32gb class 10 microsd at another $70+ lol this phone is costing me too much money!!!
Or maybe I'll live with it as is

Thanks very much for sharing that! I've been curious to try out the included screen protectors in the cases I receive but I just can't risk removing the SGP Glas haha

Hopefully Trident Cases makes one, they usually take their time to release a case (as they did with the Nexus S) but they are good quality and I've been pleased with their products.
Thanks for the nice review. IMHO the Case-Mate Box is probably better as the four corners of the SGS-2 are protected by the hardcase as well. The Otterbox seems to protected the corners only with the silicone parts.

I havent heard many good things about the popcase that it may not provide enough protection. It looks cool though. I have the toughcase but its a dust magnet for starters and the silicone also gets in the way of my screen protector (zagg) at the corners. I have a diztronic tpu case and i like the fit of it better and its thin enough to not be too noticeable. So far i like it best but im still waiting for something better....like otterbox?
Yes, I can not wait for the otterbox. I also found a case for other phones called Sillicrylic (I think thats how you spell it) and that looks like an awesome case!

Why hide the Google design. If you look at the use of the phone, the corners are the most hit, so a bumper design is the best. the cases in this post like others I've found are thick and bulky for no real benefit.
iPhone is the best example of what we need.

I would like to keep my phone without a case but the fear of dropping or body wear would get under my skin.

I have a case obsession as well and have many for the Gnex. My latest is the otterbox commuter, which I really love - though its noteworthy that many people do not like this case. A good one as well is the Trident Agesis - I am waiting for this one to be release at the end of Feb.

I have a sgs2 and my case just broke (just wear n tear did not drop it) its the SGP Samsung Galaxy S2 Case Ultra Capsule - YELLOW
I really like colour but its barely lasted 4 months esp for that price...
Having read the reviews I see people are highly recommending both:
- case mate tough case
- otterbox case
trouble is i can only find them in black and I really like a colourful case but cant justify spending £20 every 4 months
So what would you do? Is there a nice yellow / blue reliable strong case out there or do I have to go for either one of the other 2 mentioned above, in which case which one would you choose?

Pretty and tough don't mix well together.
I have the Case Mate Tough, it's a very solid case especially for the price ($16 on Amazon). My only gripe with it is that it's a dust magnet, but nothing a quick wipe can't take care of.
The Otterbox Commuter is similarly prices, and looks slightly better than the Case Mate, however I think it's a little bulkier. Yo can't go wrong with either.
If you want a coloured yet strong case, check out the Trident Aegis. I'm not a fan of it's design though.
is the back part where it covers the battery plastic or silicon like?
i have a imak black case and its has a plastic backing, i thought it would be bad at first but i realised it will keep its shape from wear and tear since its only the sides that need stretching.
chose wisely, the case had before this one would apply pressure on the power button and turn the phone off an on.

i have an otter box and it is the best case i have owned.
For me it adds a bit of weight and thinkness to the phone which i like but the best thing about it is the fit. it is perfect

I've seen these before and have ordered a couple to see what they are like - will let people know when they arrive; I don't have high hopes to be honest.
I still want an official one so I know it fits perfectly though.

I wouldn't recommend SGP Linear ... they are made of plastic and easy breakable...
I would recommend Sweet Armor .. they are not that heavy and they are made of airline metals (aluminium i believe ... not sure)

Just a little warning. I've had a Walnutt bumper case on my phone for about 4-5 months, and they scratch the living hell out of the left and right sides of the phone.
I'm not sure if all Walnutt bumper cases do this, maybe I was just unlucky.
Maybe you got bits of dust between the phone and bumper? I know that my SGP NEO EX does accumulate a bit of dust between silicon and my phone. Regular clean ups does the job though. No significant scratches after 5 months of having the bumper, just slight micro scratches here and there, but those might be also deriving from me using my phone without bumper on occasions...

I am currently using Walnutt bumper case for my iPhone 4 and have been satisfied with this case so far. I dropped my phone on the ground a few times while I was taking it out from the pocket. I searched everywhere for recommendations for a case with OUT a cover. I wanted just a case that covered the back and as slim as possible and with some grip but NOT sticky. I took a chance and bought this case for my 9.7" because I'm new I can't post a link but search eBay for X-Line Shape Soft TPU Rubber Gel Case Cover For Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0"/9.7" the seller is hksanho I highly recommend it as it fits perfectly, is extremely well made (actually I'm shocked at how perfect the molding is) gives grip and is not sticky. I have a Gold Tab S2 and I bought the grey, it perfectly compliments it, further giving it the titanium look. Best of all it took only 6 days from time of order to delivery in Phoenix. I've only bought one or two things from directly from China and was extremely reticent to buy something I couldn't see or feel and not knowing if I'd ever actually get it in my lifetime LOL. Hopefully my post will help others and obviously I have no connection to the seller!

I purchased one of these cases for my Sony Z4 tablet quite a while ago; and it has been Fantastic! Super thin and fits Perfectly! I just bought one for my S2.

After holding the tablet for a longer period of time i found the edges too hard. Based on your experiences would this cover solve this for me? Also if it would make the back of it a little less slippery that would be a bonus
yes -solves also these issues. thanxx for the tip, i ordered a black one these days. very pleased. feels like the light tablet in hands and covers perfectly my external charging pad, which allows wireless charging. very, very cool. for "expeditions" outside the house, i put the whole thing inside a book cover for protection, but at home the "minicase" is fine.

That's what tempered glass screen protectors are for, aren't they?
Also looking for the decent case with cover made by tpu or something. In germany there just a few available from which I already tried one but that one was not fitting well. Any tipps?
