Has anyone with a rooted One X tried to install Google Wallet yet? - HTC One X

Now that the device is rooted, has anyone tried installing Google Wallet? Here are some basic instructions on how you should be able to get it working on your device:
1) Install the Wallet apk.
2) Install Market Enabler (download it from the Play Store - it's the one with a green logo that says ME).
3) Open Market Enabler, click on settings list, click and hold T-Mobile US and select fake this provider now.
4) Open the Google Wallet application and set it up. Google will give you $10 to spend on whatever you want upon signing up.
You can find all the necessary files and more details in the Galaxy Nexus thread here.
It'd be great to hear from any rooted One X owners to see if it works.

Doesn't anyone here have a rooted One X?

I just tried and get the nagging "google wallet has not yet been certified in your country/device" error message. When I imported the GSM Gnex upon release, I tried the same trick and it worked just fine but it's not working on my One X.

Thank you. Looks like the application is indeed rejecting non-Nexus devices? But there was a new version of Wallet released last week (the one you installed is about a month old - I can't find an APK of the latest version), maybe that one includes support for the One X?

It could be the old version. If you happen to come across a newer version, let me know and I will install it and report back.

Ah, looks like no Google Wallet for One X users then - at least for now. Thanks for your help

Same issue for me - Euro One X on Att.

Not working for me either, worked on my old gn.
I think the problem is that market enabler don't work though, because when I go into play it doesn't let me download us apps even though I fake t-mobile..
edit, meaning I can't find the app via play, so I had to manually download the apk from here. Also I found google music, but it wouldn't let me download. But at least it works after I installed it manually.

Any updates on this? Google wallet sounds awesome, i wanna give it a try (i'm in Australia)

I have rooted htc one x and i am on T-mobile us and this doesn't work form me either

I just tried it and didn't work!

Wondering if by any chance someone has managed to get this working?

Another One X T-Mo USA user
But no, saddly no Wallet support yet. I'm thinking the app phones Google with your phone and carrier and both need to be on Google's approved list.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA

Really doesn't make sense to me why the developer (Google in this case) would not release the app to be more compatible with newer phones.
I may not understand it correctly, but it seems to me there should be no carrier involvement other than what AT&T already does. By that I mean block apps and limit the users so they can dictate where we spend our money.
Am I wrong in saying that Google has our card information. The phone has the app and the hardware and it communicates through Near Field Communication to the terminal and then the terminal processes the transaction? Where is the carrier in this loop? Does the app send data over the network to the card processor? I thought it was just the terminal that did all of the processing?
Someone correct me if I am wrong here....

I just installed it, and even though I used Market Enabler to fake my carrier to be T-Mobile US, I installed Wallet and it says 'Not support country/carrier'... Spewing.

BAHAHAHAHA and you all thought going to get free ten bucks
lmao...atleast i did n got burned

The phone itself needs to be added by Google to the devices GW supports. With AT&T being the only place it's available in the U.S., and AT&T not supporting GW, it's doubtful the U.S. One X will ever get GW support. And there's little reason for Google to add support for a device that's not even sold in the U.S. (international version) that only works on a network (AT&T) that's using a different electronic payment system (ISIS).
They just added the Evo to GW yesterday in anticipation of its launch. If the U.S. One X was going to be supported it would have been added at the same time since it's already in people's hands.
Google can't enable GW without the cooperation of the carrier whose network the phone's being used on. The Nexi are the only phones on AT&T's network that they'll carry GW traffic for and that's because they're not AT&T phones (but are sold in the U.S. unlocked).

You would think that Google would want us to use their service to make them money.
The only reason i wanted NFC was to use Google Wallet.

Google Wallet Can Add Canadian Credit Cards (Decline Problem)

A recent update to Google Wallet has allowed Canadian credit cards to be added to the app. I just spoofed my address by entering the correct Canadian info and then putting NY as the state. Everything worked! WOO HOO!
I used a mastercard.
You need to use market enabler or something to spoof your carrier as T-Mobile USA though.

I tried what you said and it did allow my Mastercard to be "added."
My guess is though it will try and verify your billing address when a purchase is made and deny it ... I mean don't get me wrong I really do hope it works but I am skeptical.
Maybe I will try it at a Tim Horton's later

It does not work in Canada. I'll let you know if it works when I go to States with my T-Mobile account. My credit card is released by a Canadian bank with US billing address.
Well I've gotten as far as actually attempting to make a purchase...
Steps I took:
1) Turn on NFC (Duh?)
2) Turn on WiFi (Faster then 3G to complete the process(es))
3) Turn off Data (Probably not required, but meh.)
4) Launch Market Enabler -> Spoof as TMobile
5) Launch Titanium Backup Pro
6) Restore/Un-freeze/thaw out/whatever the Wallet App that came with my gApps install (gapps-4.1.1-Kejar31-20120715.zip)
7) Check Play Store for updates, and installed newest version of Wallet App.
8) Run Wallet App, do the initial setup/adding card
9) Hit a snag when it came to adding my card...I tried to add the same Visa that I had already linked to my Play Store account....but Google noticed ^_^
So I went online to: www.google.ca/wallet via the Chrome Browser on my Phone -> Signed in, deleted my existing Visa card, and went back to the app.
10) Add my Visa card with all correct info (Correct Name/Address Etc) but with Zip Code: 90210, State: CA
11) Hit add, waited like 5m for the app to verify.
12) See attachment ^_^
13) Go back to www.google.ca/wallet and change the Zip/State to match my Canadian info.
14) Stop by Tim Hortons tomorrow and try it out...
I hope it will. My guess is it will not work in Canada, period. I wonder if it works in States with a T-Mobile SIM and a Canadian card. Pretty sure it will not also.
Don't waste your time. I got declined at McDonald's. My regular card worked however. I had failed miserably.
Ah man I was actually excited for it work.

[Q] NEW Google Wallet (8/1) for AT&T

So the new Google Wallet just came out, with support for any credit card! I so would love to use it, but AT&T has it blocked!.
I was able to install the CM9 hacked version, but was never able to use it for some reason, it would not let me add a gift card.
Anywho, the new version came out,and I would like to get some attempt to get it to work.
Any ideas? links, hacks? I loath AT&T. I own the phone (bought outright). I think I should be able to get it to work!

I found this: http://www.google.com/wallet/where-it-works.html Thats for Google Wallet. But what should I look for when it comes to any NFC device since we can now use any credit/debit card?
Also, if I get Wallet on my S3, is it difficult to change ROMs? Do I have to stay on the ROM I started it with? If so, thats crazy annoying.

I did the same method. Downloaded to stock, non-rooted Vzw GNex and reset through the wallet app. Updated from 1.1-R57v5 to the one here 1.5-R79-v5. However I did not any of my cards in the app since my last app was so old it didn't support real cards but it did work with the prepaid card before.
When I went to add my card it kept spinning for a long time while trying to add the card. Well in reality it was just less then four minutes. I just let it go and it finally came back as "Selected Card". The prepaid card balance is missing but i was still on the initial $10 so it does not surprise me either. All in all it was a easy upgrade.
Thanks for posting the upgrade for us verizon folks!

If you check the google wallet page, You can see what devices are compatible with Tap & Pay
https://support.google.com/wallet/answer/1347934?hl=en
So far, it only shows the 2012 Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 as working tablets.
Given that Host Card Emulation is one of the new features in 4.4, and that the Nexus 7 (2013) carries the same NFC controller as the Nexus 5 (the BCM20793M), it seems likely that Google hard-coded the device out of Wallet and an update of the app will probably bring tap-to-pay.

I saw that too, but until they update the compatibility list and throw the switch on the 2013 Nexus 7, its not going to work. I mean, I could run 4.4 on my Note 2 and try and get it, but it probably won't work without being officially supported.
EDIT: just to say a couple more things. I almost knew for certain this would happen. Now that google is going to more software based way of handling these tap and pay features, I knew they would start setting up a Velvet Rope situation where only certain devices will be allowed to activate the feature. if any phone out there had this, Google might somehow lose control of payments. Needing to make sure the phone matches the username and with the history the app had of being able to make pretty much any phone look like a Galaxy Nexus just by editing the build.prop file, its probably going to be even worse getting certain phones/tablets activated.

Makes sense! I agree they had to do something to patch the "Nexus trick" and this seems like this is it.
The Nexus 7 (2013) is actually missing hardware - the ”secure element ”. I would be surprised if Google ever supports Wallet on this device. You can't make up for missing hardware with a patch.

Incorrect. That's what host card emulation is for. The Nexus 5 does not have a secure element, it is able to emulate it via software. Secure element is not required to get official support.
What you are saying is very true Pre-KitKat days, KitKat changes the game.
I currently have tap and pay enabled in wallet cm11 build 11/11/13. I haven't gotten it to work at a terminal yet though. If you check the compatability list you'll see that it says all devices running 4.4 and up with NFC are compatible.

Let me make my own prediction - Google will drop Wallet tap-to-pay on all NFC devices within 12 months. For now - NFC is not where Wallet is headed.
Tap to Pay is now included in today's update.

Question About morotolo China Rom

Anyone have a guide for install google play and Services in morotolo China rom?
You have it already? If so I want details. How're you finding it?
These China Roms usually have it hidden in the rom. Has to be activated by going into the Google settings if I remember correctly

Download Google APK. And following all the instructions.
Hello I recently received my moto edge x30 from china where I am using it in Canada. Google services run just fine. GPS is good too. I have not run into any heating issues. This is the first Chinese ROM phone where it does not feel like a Chinese market phone. Extremely good device so far
Do you guys know if a software update will wipe out root and bootloader locked status? There is a new update available for the chinese Rom. Wanted to know the steps that should be followed for rooted devices.

You need to root your device and systemize android auto app in order to make it work...
It's the only way I could get it to work.
There a tutorial in this same forum...
However you will not be able to install the android updates easily if you do this...
What about the chinese apps that you can't remove? Doesn't that bother you?

No because on most Chinese phone, including this one, almost every app can be uninstalled including system ones so they can be removed. Also xda has adbcontrol to further clean up the device.

Cn rom nfc work with Google pay? NFC TAP PAYMENT
Well I would really like to know how many Chinese apps there are that you can't get rid of if you could comment?
I tried a couple of Aliexpress sellers with the same Question and got nowhere.
Also in the description it says "English not 100% support" so I don't know what to expect there either.
Here's a screen shot from the website showing lots of CN Apps.

I was able to get rid of all of those apps. The majority can be uninstalled a few like app center can be disabled. These are the apps I have on my phone. I used adb control to disable some additional Google apps. To me that is the one benefit of Chinese roms, just about anything can be uninstalled even system apps.

Something doesn't make sense. I thought the CN Rom doesn't come with Google Apps and those are the ones we all want? Having asked that I would like to buy the CN Rom Motorola X30 because it is about $150 cheaper and it comes with the 68W charger whereas the USA Version only has the 30W charger (Edge + 2022) even though it can use the 68 W and 8GB Ram vs 12 on the CN version. I am not a tech person and don't want to try and learn how to use adb. If I just could uninstall all but 2 or 3 CN Apps I would get it but I read there is some other issues like Android auto doesn't work and some other things.
